Ever wonder how a perfectly fair skin-toned beautiful movie star suddenly became perfectly tanned only a little while after you saw her? It may not be just a perfect tan, but a healthy-looking one as well.

The answer to that is Fake Tan. This is a tanning technique that needs an airbrush equipment to perform the procedure. Many people who patronize this fake tanning procedure are popular celebrities, making it a hot commodity nowadays.

What are the basic procedures involved?

You don’t have to spend days sunbathing anymore – this perfect fake tan can be achieved through the use of an airbrush, which will be filled with a tanning solution that is sprayed all over the body.

During the procedure, you will have to decide the extent of the coverage and shall be required to use scanty clothing or at least make sure that the body part to be tanned is exposed. Typically, the application time is approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

You are then forbidden to either take a shower or to wash-off the tanning solution for 8 to 12 hours after the tanning session. Take note that while the solution is being sprayed, the solution will stain the clothing that you are using. You may have to dispose it off afterwards.

Is the tanning solution safe?

The solution that is used is called DHA (dihydroxyacetone) which was approved by the FDA. So your fears about safety are groundless because this is completely safe.

After the DHA is sprayed onto the skin using the airbrush tanning equipment, the solution will react with the amino acids present in the skin. When the initial application takes effect, the skin color will change to a darker shade for about twelve hours and will stay on the skin for approximately two weeks.

Finally, make sure that you moisturize daily or after every bath. This will help to enhance and maximize the tan. In addition, never fail to drink lots of liquids and to use an organic-based lotion that has enough sun protection factor before going out into the sun. Keep in mind that you are now sporting a fake tan. It won’t be wise to stretch its staying powers under the sun.
