How Important is Gps Tracking

Is tracking loved ones important enough to take drastic measures?

If a tracking device could be implanted under the skin such as under the collar bone similar to a pace maker would you have one implanted into your loved ones such as a child, elderly loved one or a beloved pet?

The fear of having a loved one end up missing or taken from their home, school... keeps parents, children of elderly parents and pet owners up at night. Having an implanted Gps tracking device may bring some peace of mind to many people, but what are the ethical implications? For pet owners, this doesn't really have any ethical implications and does make sense if the pet owners are willing to spend the money for the device and the procedure to implant the device.

For parents, the ethical and then at some point in time, legal implications and reasons are not so cut and dry. It is completely understandable for a parent to want to protect an infant at any cost, but when that child becomes older and then becomes of age what are the reasons for having such a device. Is it for their safety or is it to spy on them and track their every move?

All parents will eventually have to make these sorts of decisions about their children because of emerging technologies and the lower costs due to their availability.

How many times have parents not been able to locate their children even with all of the technology available to them.

Most parents give their kids cell phones in order to contact them in case of emergency,

find where they are at or when they are coming home. But, all to often kids ignore the calls
from their parents and come up with some excuse like "My phone was turned off or my battery ran low".

One way of tracking your children, vehicles, employees, fleets and assets is through Gps tracking devices.

In a cell phone, a small chip is installed into the phone or in some instances the phone already

comes with a tracking unit and with a small monthly service, parents can track where their children's cell phone is located.
