Having an implanted Gps tracking device may bring some peace of mind to many people, but what are the ethical implications? For pet owners, this doesn't really have any ethical implications and does make sense if the pet owners are willing to spend the money for the device and the procedure to implant the device.

For parents, the ethical and then at some point in time, legal implications and reasons are not so cut and dry. It is completely understandable for a parent to want to protect an infant at any cost, but when that child becomes older and then becomes of age what are the reasons for having such a device. Is it for their safety or is it to spy on them and track their every move?

All parents will eventually have to make these sorts of decisions about their children because of emerging technologies and the lower costs due to their availability.

For Gps information, articles and product reviews, visit MapTrac Articles and Product Reviews.
The economy of a Gps

In this time where everyone is counting every penny, is it wise to invest in a Gps system?

If you are a business owner with a fleet of vehicles, investing in a Fleet Management System can pay for itself in the fuel savings alone.

A Fleet Management System can track your vehicles and assets, supply drivers with routes, directions and maps saving distance, time and fuel which equates into both short-term and long-term savings.

If you are an individual vehicle owner, the reasons are quite similar to that of a business owner with a fleet of vehicles and assets.

Having turn by turn directions, routes, address location and points of interest (POI) right at your finger tips in real time can save time, distance, unnecessary driving and fuel. This will translate into eventual savings.

For even more savings, visit MapTrac's Gps store for all of your Gps needs

For articles and product reviews on Gps and navigation systems, visit MapTrac Gps articles and product reviews

For all of your Gps and mapping needs visit MapTrac Gps tracking, navigation, maps, routes & directions

Gps, a Perfect Gift for the Holidays

It's the Holiday season again and you are wondering what to give someone as that perfect gift.
How about a Gps unit for their vehicle. It is always a good idea to have a personal handheld Gps unitt. Many companies such as Garmin, Bushnell Outdoors and Magellan make many handheldd Gps units.

It can be a life saver and help you plan your trip and keep you from getting lost. But, there is a drawback: what happens in an emergency? How would you get in touch with outside help or a rescue team?

Most cell phone companies don't have the capabilities to have service in remote areas such as the woods, national parks or mountains.
The answer is a personal Gps tracker like the
SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker and Messenger

SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker and Messenger

SPOT. THE WORLD'S FIRST SATELLITE MESSENGER.

With the SPOT Satellite Messenger, you and your loved ones have peace of mind knowing help is always within reach. SPOT is the only device of its kind, using the GPS satellite network to acquire its coordinates, and then sending its location with a link to Google Maps™ and a pre-programmed message via a commercial satellite network. And unlike Personal Locator Beacons, SPOT does more than just call for help. Tracking your progress, checking in with loved ones, and non-emergency assistance are also available, all at the push of a button. And because it uses 100% satellite technology, SPOT works around the world even where cell phones don't.

Coverage
SPOT works around the world, including virtually all of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia, portions of South America, Northern Africa and North Eastern Asia, and hundreds or thousands of miles off-shore of these areas.

Messenger

ALERT 9-1-1 - Dispatch emergency responders to your exact location

CHECK IN - Let contacts know where you are and that you're okay

TRACK PROGRESS - Send and save your location and allow contacts to track your progress using your password and Google Maps™.

ASK FOR HELP - Request help from friends and family at your exact location.

ALERT 9-1-1:
Use this function In the event of a life threatening or other critical emergency to notify emergency services of your exact location and that you need assistance. The GEOS International Emergency Response Center alerts the appropriate agencies worldwide for example contacting 9-1-1 responders in North America and 1-1-2 responders in Europe.

HOW IT WORKS:
Once activated, SPOT will acquire its exact coordinates from the GPS network, and send that location along with a distress message to a GEOS International Emergency Response Center every five minutes until cancelled. The Emergency Response Center notifies the appropriate emergency responders based on your location and personal information which may include local police, highway patrol, the Coast Guard, our countrys embassy or consulate, or other emergency response or search and rescue teams as well as notifying your emergency contact person(s) about the receipt of a distress signal.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Unlimited Alert 9-1-1 usage is included as part of the low-cost SPOT service plan.

Even if SPOT cannot acquire its location from the GPS network it will still attempt to send a distress signal without exact location to the Emergency Response Center, which will still notify your contacts of the signal and continue to monitor the network for further messages.

SPOT is designed for maximum reliability. Spot performs a self-diagnostic test each time it is powered on. Additionally, Spot strongly recommends that you send and verify an OK/Check message each time before use. This allows you to evaluate your entire messaging system, from the operational condition of the messenger to the readiness of those you have chosen to notify of your messages.

Visit MapTrac for all of your Gps navigation needs

and our Gps store for automotive, handheld, fitnesss, marine units, parts and accessories.
GpsTracking: safety or invasion?

How many times have parents not been able to locate their children even with all of the technology available to them.

Most parents give their kids cell phones in order to contact them in case of emergency,

find where they are at or when they are coming home. But, all to often kids ignore the calls
from their parents and come up with some excuse like "My phone was turned off or my battery ran low".

One way of tracking your children, vehicles, employees, fleets and assets is through Gps tracking devices.

In a cell phone, a small chip is installed into the phone or in some instances the phone already

comes with a tracking unit and with a small monthly service, parents can track where their children's cell phone is located.

Usually, tracking is viewed over the internet through a website providing the tracking service.

Similarly,, vehicles can be tracked with a small tracking device installed somewhere inside the vehicle.

The question that comes to mind is "Am I doing this for my children's safety and my own peace of mind or am I just taking on the role of Big Brother?"

"Do I tell my children that I have installed a tracking device in the cell phone or vehicle?".
These questions can only be answered by each parent and each case is different so trying to
pass judgement on those parents who do this need to look at the situation from these parents point of view.

In the case of employers, it becomes a legal matter and employees must be informed that their equipment is being monitored through the use of Gps tracking devices.
For more information on Gps tracking and Gps units, parts and accessories visit All Gps tracking, Gps navigation, maps, routes & directions

or our Gps store at Lowest prices on Gps tracking units, parts and accessories.

Why are you waiting to buy a Gps!

Car, truck and motorcycle Gps units are becoming one of the most popular accessories to add

to your vehicle.

It offers the features of safety and convenience to find routes and directions,

points of interest such as gas stations, hotels and restaurants.
