Pengertian

Reaksi Kimia mengubah zat zat asal ( pereaksi atau reaktan) menjadi zat-zat baru ( hasil reaksi).

Persamaan Reaksi adalah Persamaan yang menunjukkan hubungan antara zat-zat yang terjadi selama reaksi kimia berlangsung.

Tanda tambah(+) menunjukkan sebagai “bereaksi dengan”.Tanda sama dengan (=) menunjukkan hasil reaksi, dan dapat dibaca sebagai “menghasilkan”, “membentuk” , “bereaksi menjadi” atau istilah lainnya. Bilangan di depan rumus kimia masing masing zat dalam persamaan reaksi disebut koefisien. Koefisien satu ( tidak perlu ditulis), huruf cetak miring dalam tanda kurung yang mengikuti rumus kimia tiap-tiap zat menyatakan wujud atau keadaan zat yang bersangkutan, yaitu:

· s = Padatan ( Solid)

· l = cairan (liquid)

· g = gas

· aq = larutan berair (aqueous, zat dalam air)

Beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam persamaan kimia sebagai berikut.

a. Koefisien reaksi menyatakan perbandingan jumlah partikel dari zat-zat yang terlibat dalam reaksi

b. Karena koefisien reaksi merupakan angka perbandingan, maka koefisien reaksi haruslah bilangan bulat paling sederhana

c. Persamaan reaksi yang sudah diberi koefisien yang sesuai disebut persamaan setara.

Kali ini kami akan membahas tentang cara contoh dan pembahasan dari persamaan reaksi.

Silahkan membaca.

Sebelum membaca artikel ini , sebaiknya bacalah terlebih dahulu artikel ini Persamaan Reaksi
Penyetaraan persamaan reaksi dimaksudkan untuk menyamakan jenis dan jumlah atom di ruas kiri dengan ruas kanan. Banyak reaksi yang dapat disetarakan dengan cara menebak, akan tetapi sebagai permulaan ikuti cara-cara berikut:

CARA-CARA MENYETARAKAN SUATU PERSAMAAN REAKSI

a. Tetapkan koefisien salah satu zat, biasanya zat yang rumus kimianya paling kompleks, sama dengan 1, sedangkan zat lain diberikan koefisien sementara dengan huruf

b. Setarakan terlebih dahulu unsur yang terkait langsung dengan zat yang diberi koefisien 1 itu ( jumlah atom kiri=jumlah atom kanan).

Ingat!!

Penyetaraan persamaan reaksi berkaitan dengan hukum lavoiser.

Massa sebelum reaksi = Massa sesudah reaksi

c. Setarakan unsur lainnya. Biasanya akan membantu jika atom O disetarakan paling akhir.

Untuk lebih jelasnya, perhatikan contoh berikut.

Reaksi pembakaran gas metana (CH₄) menghasilkan karbondioksida dan uap air

CH₄ + O₂ = CO₂ + H₂O

a. Tetapkan koefisien CH4 = 1, Sedangkan yang lainnya dengan huruf.

1 CH₄ + a O₂ = b CO₂ + c H₂0

b. Penyetaraan atom C dan H

Penyetaraan atom C

Jumlah atom C di ruas kiri = 1 dan di ruas kanan = b , berarti b=1

Penyetaraan atom H

Jumlah atom H di ruas kiri=4 dan di ruas kanan=2c, berarti 2c=4 atau c=2

Dengan b=1 dan c=2, persamaan reaksinya menjadi:

1CH₄ + a O₂ = 1 CO₂ + 2 H₂0

c. Penyetaraan atom O

Jumlah atom O di ruas kiri= 2a dan di ruas kanan = 2+2=4 berarti 2a=4 atau a=2

Dengan demikian persamaan setaranya adalah:

1CH₄ + 2 O₂ = 1 CO₂ + 2 H₂0

Note: Koefisien 1 tidak perlu ditulis

Setarakan Persamaan Reaksi Berikut.

4. Mg_(s) + HCl _(aq) = MgCl₂_(aq) + H_{2 (g)}

5. CS₂ + O₂ = CO₂ + SO₂

6. Al₂O₃ + HCl = AlCl₃ + H₂O

7. C₂H₅OH + O₂ = CO₂ + H₂O

8. Al₂O₃+ H₂SO₄ = Al₂(SO₄)₃ + H₂O

9. CaCO₃ + HCl = CaCl₂ + CO₂ + H₂O

10. NH₃+ O₂ = NO + H₂O

11. Ba(OH)₂ +P₂O₅ = BA₃(PO₄)₂ + H₂O

12. Pl₃ + H₂0 = H₃PO₃ + Hl

13. NaOH+ H₃PO₄ = NA₃PO₄ + H₂O

14. Ca₃(PO₄)₂ + SiO₂+ C = CaSiO₃ + CO + P₄

15. H₂ + O₂ = H₂O

Jawaban:

1. C_(S) + O₂_(g) = 2 CO _(g)

2. 4 Al _(s) + 3 O₂_(g) = 2 Al₂O₃_(s)

3. 2 C₂H₂_(g)+ 5 O₂_(g) = 4 CO₂ _(g) + 2 H₂O_(l)

10. 4 NH₃+ 5 O₂ = 4 NO + 6 H₂O

11. 3 Ba(OH)₂ +P₂O₅ = BA₃(PO₄)₂+ 3 H₂O

12. Pl₃ + 3 H₂0 = H₃PO₃ + 3 Hl

13. 3 NaOH + H₃PO₄= Na₃PO₄ +3 H₂O

14. 2 Ca₃(PO₄)₂+ 6 SiO₂+ 9 C = 6 CaSiO₃ +9 CO+ P₄

15. 2 H₂ + O₂ = 2 H₂O

2. Tuliskan persamaan setara untuk setiap reaksi berikut,kemudian setarakan.

a. Nitrogen dengan hidrogen membentuk amonia

b. Dinitrogen pentaoksida dengan air membentuk asam nitrat

c. Alkohol dengan oksigen membentuk karbondioksida dan uap air

d. Besi dengan oksigenmembentuk besi(III)oksida

e. Karbondioksida dan amonia membentuk urea dan air

Jawab:

A. N₂ + 3 H₂ = 2 NH₃

B. N₂O₅+ H₂O = 2 HNO₃

C. C₂H₅OH + 2 CO₂ = 2 CO₂ + 3 H₂O

D. 2 Fe + 3 O₂ = 2 FeO

E. CO₂ + 2 NH₃ = CO(NH₂)₂ + H₂O

3. Berikut adalah persamaan reaksi yang belum setara antara hidrogen dengan oksigen membentuk air.

H_2(g) + O_2(g) = H₂O_(l)

Apakah reaksi tersebut dapat disetarakan dengan mengubah indeks kovalen oksigen diruas kanan menjadi 2 (mengubah H₂O menjadi H₂O₂) Jelaskan?

Tidak bisa, karena untuk menyatarakan suatu persamaan reaksi kovalen harus berada di depan rumus kimia tersebut. Jadi, bukan ditambahkan indeks oksigen diruas kanan ataupun menambahkan indeks oksigen di belakang rumus kimia tersebut.

Sehingga persamaan reaksinya adalah

2 H₂ + O₂ = 2 H₂O
