The scoop: All right… So we’re in #psp-hacks live chat testing things out, discussing, you know… PSP-2000 (Slim) — bang on; Yoshihiro, my sincerest. PSP-1000 (Phat) — something’s a little off… The PSP-1000, under System Information, reports 5.50 GEN-D (Full), while the Slim is sayin’ 5.50 GEN-D3. At least for me it is. On the 1000 you may experience other odd behaviour too. I can’t speak for 5.03 GEN-C and 2000v3/3000, but feel free to leave your comments below.

March 29, 2010 - When the original Dead or Alive: Xtreme Volleyball debuted on Xbox, it was able to rely on the horsepower of the system to sell the seriously disproportionate babes as attractive women that you creepily leered at as they sprawled out on the beach. On PSP, it's a different matter entirely. Thanks to the insufficient hardware and small screen size, the ladies in Dead or Alive Paradise come off looking like shambles of their former selves (though the wonky boob physics are certainly intact). That'd be fine, but the fact that the mini-games feel robotic and lack any online infrastructure to expand the experience beyond what's offered on the UMD condemns this one to purgatory.

The story of Dead or Alive Paradise really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but the designers at Tecmo did take a stab at offering some sort of narrative. You choose one of ten Dead or Alive vixens who then travels to New Zack Island for a two-week stay. Once you arrive for your tropical getaway you're offered a handful of core activities: there are three casino games (blackjack, slots and poker), you can snap photos of the ladies as they lounge around, you can play volleyball, there's the mini-game of pool hopping and there's the slightly ancillary and wholly arbitrary gift giving between your character and other island goers.

Gameplay: 8.2
The real-time battles are actually very enjoyable and even more so if you have a number of characters in your party. While the camera is downright horrible and obscures your view to the point of frustration, the quests are as deep as the character customization options. Expect a somewhat confusing story that builds into an interesting epic.

Graphics: 8.5
One of the prettiest RPGs you will play, Valhalla Knights sports some sharp textures and detailed characters that really stand out. Best yet, the environments look great. Even the dungeons are easy on the eyes as are the numerous monsters you’ll encounter.

Sound: 8.5
While the game’s score doesn’t scream epic, it isn’t bad either and it does give each battle plenty of dramatic tension. There’s no voice acting to be found in this game but the detailed sound effects more than make up for it.

Difficulty: Medium
You’ll be surrounded by hordes of enemies in this game as well as some frightful giants that do a lot of damage. You’ll seriously consider leveling up before tackling the later quests and learn the powerful lesson that heroes that value teamwork live a lot longer.

Concept: 8.5
The game blends dungeon-crawling and fetch quests nicely, but it’s the ability to take your customizable character into real-time battle that sets this game apart. This is also a pretty lengthy game with a lot to do and there’s co-op multiplayer mode you’ll like to share with a friend.

Multiplayer: 7.6
While I have yet to try out the wireless multiplayer mode, you can share this game with a friend in co-op mode but also challenge a friend in a head-to-head Versus mode. It’s great stuff indeed, especially since any gold you might acquire in the multiplayer game can be carried over and used during the single-player game.

Overall: 8.2
Valhalla Knights is an enjoyable portable role-playing game that has all the right elements to make this a unique and enjoyable experience for the PSP. It’s marred only by a few noticeable flaws but, in the end, the interesting story and plenty of great character options make this a solid RPG with a lot to offer.

Given the similarity in titles, it would be easy to assume that Ego Draconis is little more than an effort to capitalize on Bioware’s recent opus, Dragon Age: Origins. While both are role-playing games in a fantasy setting, it may surprise people to learn just how richly-laden the world of Rivellon is; much of it actually looks even better than Fereldan. Divinity II was not devised as some kind of afterthought. Just a few hours in, it becomes readily apparent how much thought and care went into this experience, one which easily surpasses its cult-classic predecessors. You may roll your eyes at the notion of having to deal with a villain named Damian, but this RPG offers far more than the usual fantasy clichés.In Divinity II, the player makes the ironic transformation from Dragon Slayer to Dragon Knight. Slaying dragons sounds all well and good, but when someone offers you a chance to have all the powers of the dragon at your fingertips… well, it becomes difficult to resist. Technically, the player does not have much say in this matter. Playing as the flying, fire-breathing monstrosity is quite thrilling, and it’s definitely something players will relish. However, the ability to become the dragon is not handed over to you once the game begins. You must put in considerable hours first, and this provides an excellent incentive for player progress.Fortunately, Ego Draconis isn’t a chore to play. The world is vast and beautiful, and is absolutely teaming with activity. Take off in one direction, and you may find yourself caught in an ambush. Head off somewhere else, and a quest opportunity may appear. Each quest is fulfilling and enjoyable in its own right; some may offer rare potions as a reward, while others will let you play mind games with NPCs. Particularly appealing for the devious player is DII’s telepathy feature. Experience points can be spent in an effort to access the most private thoughts of others, often in ways that allow you to manipulate them. This feature can be extraordinarily useful, and shows the developers were not attempting to make some silly dragon-themed game, but a true RPG with intriguing mechanics for accomplishing objectives.Ego Draconis makes use of a fairly fluid character development system, as well. This allows players to develop a set of skills early on, but shift to other abilities later if they feel so inclined. If you plan on being a blademaster, you can be trained as such, and later complement these talents with some sorcery as well. You’ll need every advantage you can get, because the more intense battles in DII will pit you against swarms of nasties that constantly test your combat prowess. The dragon does come in very handy for expansive regions in the game, but the transformation cannot be performed in confined spaces, if only for the sake of gameplay balance.There’s quite a bit to look at in the game, from fancy high-dynamic range lighting to fuzzy little bunnies hopping around the forest. The PC version did seem to have a few issues with freezing, but the overall appearance is considerably cleaner than its counterpart on the Xbox 360. There are no glaring differences between each version, so the general gameplay experience is identical. BioWare may dominate the role-playing sector of the market right now, but if you find yourself looking for something different, Larian Studios' (along with dtp and CDV) Divinity II has quite a lot to offer.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2010)

The world he created in this film has the same look and feel as Terminator Salvation did. In fact this film is as good if not better than T4. Mainly because it had nothing to live up to. All the fight scenes were top notch, and graphically violent (which is a good thing). Even Dolph Lundgren was interesting. And near the end of the film there is a shot, of JVCD standing in front of a doorway looking at the kids that are his mission, that is just amazing. If you do not like action films you won't have any fun, but if you do your in for a real treat. You can give it a rent, or the better option would be to buy it on blu-ray. It's just a shame we can't see it on the big screen. Because after all these years JVCD finally has an action film thats worthy of it.

However, another platform that many gamers have undermined may be picking up steam to take over 2009. According to reports PSP may have an awesome lineup in store for 2010 with unrevealed titles as well as existing franchises.
The PSP is one platform that many gamers overlook as a contender in the gaming device arena. The PSP truly is a portable multimedia device considering you can play games, watch movies and listen to music all from a single device. However, gamers have been complaining about the lackluster lineup in 2008. The PSP lineup did start spectacularly with titles such as Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and God of War: Chains of Olympus, but quickly died down near the last quarter.

Signed, sealed, and delivered fresh from Team GEN: PSP Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3… And not only that — drop the 3 and flip the ‘D’ to a ‘C’ — you get 5.03 GEN-C (for HEN) putting 3000/TA-088v3 back on the map, baby.
Requirements and Install :
- Installation requires a PSP with 4.01 M33 or higher CFW (Only v1 and v2 motherboard users.)
- Official sony firmwares And PSP3000 and PSP2000 v3 motherboards shouldn't try it.
- Battery 78% loaded,
- Extract the file you have downloaded anywhere on your computer.
- Connect your PSP to your computer using the USB cable.
- Copy the "UPDATE" folder into /PSP/GAME
- Copy the "550.PBP" file into main menu (memory stick first page)
- Exit USB Mode And run the "5.50 GEN-D3"
- Press "X" for Enter
- Select "Flash Install CFW 5.50 GEN-D3" and Press "X". Start install.. please wait.
- When install completed press the "X" button to restart automaticly.. done..
- Then you can erase "550.PBP" file and "UPDATE" folder, they won’t be any longer necessary.
- PSP 2000 v3 mainboard and PSP 3000 users, install 5.03 GEN-C.. i never tested.. Because i dont have PSP 2000 v3 mainboard or PSP 3000.. sorry..

The players will assume the roles of supernatural heroes who participate in a "future war between good and evil", fighting dark monsters that threaten the modern world. Tørnquist identified the genre of the story as dark fantasy, mentioning vampires, demons, and zombies. The players will be free to travel across different locations of the world (both real, like London and New York, and mythical, e.g. Agartha, the legendary city located within Hollow Earth^[13]) and even in time, to pursue the overall plot and investigate new mysteries in connection to the dark invasion. The overall plot will have a conclusion but the designers also leave room for future expansions

Assassin's Creed Bloodlines is a game that will only appeal to those who are already enthralled with the Assassin's Creed universe. It successfully replicates the basic feel of Altair's previous adventure, but it also plays into the weaknesses of the PSP hardware. Three dimensional free running cannot be successful without camera control and the combat is one dimensional. The developers did the best they could within the confines of a game design that for now, can only properly work on the big screen.
