My experience with rashes,&lt;br&gt;fungi, and skin problems run some gamut. And so do my responses. &lt;p&gt;When I have a rash, in the absence of obvious trauma, I assume that I&lt;br&gt;have some toxins that have a great need to leave my body. (Sometimes&lt;br&gt;the rash may be caused by microbes feeding on the carnage.) And this&lt;br&gt;critical rush necessitates a less than beautiful solution. The&lt;br&gt;approach is two pronged.&lt;p&gt;A.   stop abusing myself with poisons or actions &lt;br&gt;        that have been causing this massing&lt;br&gt;B.   help get rid of the toxins as quickly and painlessly&lt;br&gt;        as possible. And also help the skin heal comfortably&lt;p&gt;-----&lt;p&gt;A. Many times eating raw foods will remove the irritations and abuses.&lt;br&gt;But sometimes, the toxins can come from poison oak, airborne civilized&lt;br&gt;chemicals,  medication, stress, or invisible repetitions.&lt;br&gt;Sometimes, unblocked honesty is needed to find the specific abuses.&lt;p&gt;B. Helping myself get rid of toxins:&lt;p&gt;1.	eating instinctively, assuming i have such a supply of food. &lt;br&gt;2.	a juice diet, a water fast, or extended restricted eating&lt;br&gt;3.	saunas, steam vents, and sweat lodges&lt;br&gt;4.	loofah or bristle brushes; or sisal body cloths and sponges&lt;br&gt;5.	herbs like wormwood, black walnut, and licorice &lt;br&gt;6.	bacteria like acidophilus, sauerkraut, yogurt, or rejuvulac&lt;br&gt;7.	salt baths, or salt scrubs&lt;br&gt;8.	ocean, lake or river swimming&lt;br&gt;9.	oil baths (ie. jojoba) &lt;br&gt;10.	hot tubs [,with cold plunge cycles]&lt;br&gt;11.	sun, sun gazing, and crystal therapy&lt;br&gt;12.	aerobics, isometrics, yoga, hiking, games with balls&lt;br&gt;13.	massage: shiatsu,reflexology,swedish,arnica/rose hip seed oil&lt;br&gt;14.	enemas and colonics&lt;br&gt;15.	ocean water oral flush&lt;br&gt;16.	mud and clay; baths, masks, and full body painting&lt;br&gt;17.	rasps: pumis, ceramic, diamond&lt;br&gt;18.	honesty&lt;br&gt;19.	sex or no sex&lt;br&gt;20.	quiet or meditation&lt;br&gt;21.     oral bentonite&lt;br&gt;22.     psyllium seed husk&lt;br&gt;23.     artesian or alkalized water&lt;br&gt;24.     soap i.e. black african&lt;br&gt;25.     brush teeth, gums and tongue&lt;br&gt;26.     shea (or cocoa) butter&lt;br&gt;27.     shave or don&amp;#39;t shave&lt;br&gt;28.     teas: marshmallow, ginger or other steeped herbs&lt;br&gt;29.     borscht; [raw] beet soup&lt;br&gt;30.     peppers&lt;br&gt;31.     watermelon&lt;br&gt;32.     coughing up phlegm properly  &lt;br&gt;33.     fever and other cold symptoms. (germ therapy)&lt;br&gt;35.     go fly a kite, jump out of a plane, or alter perspectives&lt;p&gt;This will be especially easy to do if you check into a spa, a farm or&lt;br&gt;a ranch. If you have the money and the time to devote, then you can&lt;br&gt;have a lot of fun and fresh air. (Don&amp;#39;t miss the horseback riding on&lt;br&gt;the beach.) Densore, 1892</title><content type="html">11/1&lt;p&gt; &lt;p&gt;If it were true that, after so many years of abuse, we could stop the wrong&lt;br&gt;course of living and all the blessings of health would follow immediately,&lt;br&gt;it would be proof that this disobedience is not so bad after all. When we&lt;br&gt;consider the wonderful mechanism of the human organism, the certainty with&lt;br&gt;which all of its organs perform their allotted work, the inevitable penalty&lt;br&gt;that has to be paid  for every physiological lesson, and then consider&lt;br&gt;transgressions committed for so many years, before the bills of credit began&lt;br&gt;to mature, we ought not to be surprised it takes a few years to repair the&lt;br&gt;damage done in a lifetime. Cooking certainly does&lt;br&gt;have some negative effects upon the quality of foods that cannot be avoided.&lt;br&gt;Nevertheless, including some &amp;quot;conservatively cooked food&amp;quot; in the diet is&lt;br&gt;still compatible with maintaining good health - and we need not be overly&lt;br&gt;concerned with it. I am not 100% on raw foods but completely respect the raw food&lt;br&gt;movement. When I am able to consistently stay on 80% or more raw foods&lt;br&gt;(where most of my calories come from raw foods) I note the difference and&lt;br&gt;feel great.&lt;p&gt;What raw fooders need is definitely mutual support. We understand the power&lt;br&gt;of raw foods to revitalize and energize us. The challenge for most of us is&lt;br&gt;sticking to very high raw food consumption despite our social and&lt;br&gt;professional obligations. Folks, it takes commitment and also support from&lt;br&gt;other like-minded people. &lt;p&gt;This list has become less active recently. Not sure why. &lt;p&gt;I have a blog on yoga and meditation and a section devoted to health and&lt;br&gt;nutrition.
