While studies are still ongoing to pinpoint the main cause(s), it is widely accepted that the higher stress levels you have increases your risk of having a panic attack.

Have a look at Ways to Control Panic Attacks before moving on with this article.

What Happens Following the First Time.

Panic attacks usually blind-side you. This is especially true the very first time it happens. Although panic attacks often mimic heart attacks, the symptoms or its implications is not the biggest cause of worry for sufferers, it’s what it does after.

After the initial panic attack, you unconsciously begin to live in fear of when it will happen next. Can’t you simply charge it to stress and forget the experience ever happened? Not if the symptoms still plague you long after it has happened. Every time you encounter the people or things you subconsciously associate with the frightening first occrence make you relive the fear.It may be an unconscious effort but you’ll start distancing yourself from these reminders. That ever-present fear of another panic attack makes you over skeptical of social invitations. In time, what were ‘normal’ activities for you turn into stressful chores you fear.

Trauma as a Trigger of Panic Attacks.

Stressful and trauma-filled happenings in life can affect you like a first panic attack does. You live in a state of constant fear because the fear you experienced the first time around has not left your consciusness.

Military men and women who have had actual combat experience go back home changed by the violence they’ve seen. They dream of the terrible violence they’ve seen in full, high-definition color, courtesy of the brain’s powerful recording capability. Following being held hostage at gunpoint in their own homes, victims begin acting weird where they once felt safe and secure. If these don’t directly result to full-blown panic disorders, they will soon be.

Read this recommended article on Treat Panic Attacks Biologically.

Panic Attacks and Lifestyle.

If anxiety medications and mugs full of coffee form part of your daily habit, you would very likely have a panic attack one day. At normal levels, anxiety is good. But when you require medication to help keep it in check, seek professional help. If you’re alcohol dependent, perpetually melancholic or addicted to coffee, you are setting yourself up for a panic attack.

Your Mental Fitness is Important.

Owing to technological advancements, life goes at excessively high speeds these days and anxiety levels are rising. Yes, we cope with stress differently. It is important, however, to do it in a healthy way. Before studies find proof supporting panic attacks is an inherited trait, it’s best to maintain a mentally sound lifestyle. Just like you value physical health, attend to your mental well-being as well.

Blood in stool is often discovered with some fear, accompanied best by exclamations of bloody (adjective, not expletive). Scarlet red drops of blood coat the feces. Toilet tissue is stained by maroon red blotches of blood. Bright red spots of blood trickle into the toilet bowl or down the legs. It is quite natural to feel a sudden pang of fright.

No undue panic is warranted yet as the hemorrhaging (technical word for bleeding) could be any one of 7 possible causes emanating from the colon. Careful attention to ensure early diagnosis and appropriate treatment will mitigate any unsettling lifestyle changes as the majority of the 7 causes are healable. Caution is the order of the day. Pay close attention. Without delay, consult your doctor if bleeding and pain lasts for over a week.

Skillful diagnosis will spot the exact cause so that pertinent treatment can be rendered to solve the problem. More frighteningly, blood in stool may be find its root cause in some class of cancer.

Hematochezia or Melena

Hematochezia (maroon or bright red colored blood) or melena (black sticky or tarry stools) are two medical categorizations for the less technical term rectal bleeding. Rectal bleeding may exit via the rectum but the root cause may be in the colon (large intestine) or the small intestine. Cancer, colon polyps, diverticulosis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, intestinal ischaemia and peptic ulcer are the 7 known causes in the colon.

Colorectal Cancer

Ranked the 3rd most common cancer on earth, colorectal cancer is also the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths, totalling up to 640,000 yearly. It is the reason why one must see a medical specialist for persisting blood in stool.

Malignant growths in the colon, appendix and rectum are classified as colorectal cancer. Found mainly via colonoscopy (visual diagnosis with a camera mounted on a flexible tube inserted through the anus), colorectal cancer treatment requires surgical excision accompanied by chemotherapy. Timely discovery often leads to a complete cure. Higher risk groups comprise those over 50 years of age and those with family history of cancers. Colorectal cancer does not differentiate gender, striking both women and men to rank among the top terminal cancers..

This next point bears taking note. Quite the opposite of what is written elsewhere, colorectal cancer typically results in occult (not visible to the naked eye) blood in feces i.e it is NOT a common reason for visible blood in stool! The University of Michigan Health System has done research that shows that colorectal cancer may produce blood that is not visible to the naked eye, i.e. occult bleeding, which can only be detected with laboratory tests. Critical tell-tale symptoms to watch out for are constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, appetite loss, weight loss and constant fatigue.

Colon Polyp

Affixing on the walls of the intestines or the rectum, polyps are mostly benign and may be raised or flat. Polyps have a preponderance to be present in those over 50 and with a family history of colorectal cancer and polyps. The usual sedentary lifestyle of too little exercise, obesity, bingeing in fatty foods, smoking and alcohol are attributed as culprits. In reality, the real culprit is not known.

Although of benign origin, some polyps can become malignant so they are typically excised during colonoscopy. Many with polyps demonstrate no symptoms at all|Symptoms may not show up at all in most who have polyps|Polyps do not usually cause noticeable symptoms. But on occasion, blood in stool present itself.

Diverticulosis

Diverticulosis causes pouches (diverticula) to stretch out of the colon wall. The reasons behind diverticula, whilst indistinct, are postulated to be primarily abnormal colon pressure. Shortage of dietary fiber is believed to be an ancillary factor. If food gets trapped in diverticula, infection may set in resulting in diverticulitis. Further damage can arise if the infected diverticulum ruptures to disseminate bacteria to the abdominal lining. The conceivably fatal peritonitis can materialise.

Diverticulosis do not cause conspicuous symptoms in the majority of people. Others experience mild cramps, bloating and constipation. More acute symptoms include nausea, vomiting and rectal bleeding. The dangers posed by peritonitis attest to the urgency that blood in stool should in the first instance be examined by a doctor. Effectual diagnosis of diverticulitis can be accomplished with a CT (computed tomography) scan.

Ulcerative Colitis

IBD or inflammatory bowel disease, under which colitis is classified, affects the large intestine (colon) and the small intestine. Inflammation in itself is a normal response of the human body to heal itself in the event of an injury to its tissue. Often too much of a good thing can become harmful; so it is with inflammation, which if left unfettered upon healing damaged tissue can itself be the cause of more tissue damage. Colitis in the colon is caused by ulcers which are erosion of the mucous membrane lining.

Apart from other symptoms, blood in stool is prevalent. Eliminating colitis as the reason behind rectal bleeding is critical as they can become very serious when the colon is perforated.

Crohn’s Disease

Crohn’s disease is an auto-immune disease whereby the body’s immune system causes harmful inflammation by turning on the gastrointestinal tract. From the mouth to the anus, Crohn’s disease can happen in any part of the gastrointestinal tract. However, the large intestine (colon) and small intestine, are the main sites~But it typically affects the small and large intestine (colon)~The small and large intestine (colon), however, are the primary affected areas.

Contributory causes, though not precisely identified, include smoking, genetic makeup and industrial environmental exposure. The symptoms are blood in stool, abdominal cramps, severe bloody diarrhea, blood on toilet tissue or in the toilet bowl, fever and weight loss.

Commonly described as granulomatous colitis, Crohn’s disease can go into abeyance and revert sporadically for the duration of life. As of now, there is no known surgical or pharmaceutical solution for Crohn’s disease. Early diagnosis is important for efficacious control of the symptoms and retarding relapses.

Intestinal Ischemia

Suppressing blood to any part of the body is described as ischemia. Dysfunctional blood vessels cause tissue damage due to the deprivation of blood nutrients and oxygen. Intestinal ischemia or ischemic colitis refers to inflammation of the large intestine due to insufficient blood supply resulting from low blood pressure, blood vessel constriction or blood clots.

Symptoms include blood in stool, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramps, abdominal bloating, urgent and violent bowel movements, weight loss, nausea and fever. The restoration of intestinal blood supply is a medical emergency if there is continual pain. Surgery may be required to expunge injured tissue, blockages and blood clots and to bypass blocked blood vessels. To counteract clots and infections, respective medication includes anticoagulants and antibiotics.

Peptic Ulcer

This is an immensely painful ulcer in the gastrointestinal tract. An ulcer is an deterioration of the mucosal membrane that is at least 0.5cm in diameter. Peptic ulcers primarily develop in the duodenum (initial part of the small intestine) and not in the stomach as commonly believed. A bacterium that causes chronic gastritis is regarded to be a chief reason for peptic ulcers.

Symptoms include blood in stool (melena), abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, appetite and weight loss, vomiting of blood and at the extreme, perforation of the intestine. Peritonitis, possibly life-threatening, may develop and need emergency surgery. Treatment of easier cases incorporates antibiotics to repel the bacteria and antacids to moderate the acidity.

Hemorrhoids

The above 7 causes is the rationale why rectal bleeding necessitates the experience of a medical doctor who can perform a correct diagnosis. Swift recovery is possible with early detection, suitable treatment and medication.

After the rather disheartening read so far, you may find some relief in knowing that hemorrhoids are the most prevalent cause of blood in stool.

Millions of people across the nation have experienced insomnia and look for different methods for reducing the effects of the condition. Insomnia can be a devastating condition and there are even cases of fatal insomnia in the medical records of history. There is a different insomnia remedy to be used in different conditions, such as remedies medications, relaxation methods, mechanical devices, and set routines that can relax the mind so the person can get to sleep each night. One treatment method that is often used is using music as an insomnia remedy.

Why Use Music?

Using music as an insomnia remedy has been used throughout history for many different types of sleep disorders. When persons of royalty had difficulty sleeping, they often called for musicians to play music that was relaxing and soothing until they could go to sleep. Today, mothers sing their kids soothing songs to lull them to sleep and many people choose to sleep with their bedside radio on a radio station that plays soothing music to help them get to sleep. Using music as an insomnia remedy continues to be a popular method for easing a person into sleep.

There are a number of different musicians that play music that can be used as an insomnia remedy. Some of these songs can be bought at local music stores or retailers that have a section for music in their stores. Because this type of music is not really popular on radio stations, many people choose to purchase a CD of the songs to play at night to make it easier for them to get to sleep. The type of music that the person chooses depends on their personal preference of what type of music would be the most soothing as an insomnia remedy.

Type Of Music Used

There are many different types of music that can be used as an insomnia remedy. The most popular choices are instrumental melodies that are soft and calming to the mind. These songs will typically have no words in the song to break up the flow of the melody and the music is designed to clear your mind to the point where all that you hear is the calming nature of the music.

Some instrumental melodies use gentle sounding instruments, such as pianos, saxophones, and flutes, to creating relaxing music that can be used as an insomnia remedy. There are no harsh sounds or loud instruments to reduce the relaxation of the music and the tone of the music will flow gently in and out with the melody. The music will release the tension of the muscles in the body and relax the mind enough so the person can have a deep and restful sleep for the entire night.

The first thing that you should avoid is any type of allergen that you would eat. The most typical things that people are allergic to include nuts, sugar, dairy products and soy.

Having a problem with your skin is certainly no laughing matter and if you have problems with it often, you’re probably ready for a break. In reality, having your skin not giving you problems has more to do with avoiding the things that are causing the problems than with taking things that are going to solve it. For that reason, I have put together a list of four things to avoid whenever you have skin problems.

The first thing that you should avoid is any type of allergen that you would eat. The most typical things that people are allergic to include nuts, sugar, dairy products and soy. You may not have an allergy to any of these things but then again, you may have a slight allergy to all of them. Many times, you do not recognize the food allergy except when it happens to give you a rash. Begin removing these things from your diet and you may notice a difference.

The second thing that you should avoid is any type of detergent or soap that is full of chemicals. Try to get as natural of a cleaning agent as you possibly can as many of the fragrances and colors are simply things that are going to cause additional problems for you.

Something else that you should avoid is anything other than cotton sheets on your bed. We spend a lot of time in the bed, about one third of our life so it stands to reason that anything that causes us irritations while we are in bed is going to get overwhelming. Cotton sheets are not only good for the skin, they also help your body to breathe while you are sleeping and give you the opportunity to wake without having problems with your skin.

Finally, you would want to avoid any sort of pharmaceutical cure for eczema. To put it plainly, doctors are really unsure of why people have eczema in the first place. If they are unable to pin down the cause of the problem, how the world would you expect them to be able to cure it effectively? If you really want to take care of your eczema, look for a way to do so through natural means. You would be surprised with some of the things that you will come up with and many of them will work well.

A leading expert in autism services of Charlotte has voiced alarm over the continued rise of autism and asked the State and Federal governments to initiate programs that would address the concern.

While there is no solid data on the number of cases of autism in Charlotte, the expert said there is a global trend of autism incidence, and it is rising.

Data revealed that a few years ago, the ratio of autism in the U.S. was pegged at one for every 150 individuals. However, it was noted that the cases of the disease in the U.S. has risen dramatically in the past few years. It is forecasted that the ratio of autism patients in the U.S. is now one for every 91 individuals.

In the 1960s, the ratio of autism in the U.S. was between 0.4 and 0.5 for every 1,000 individuals. The proportion quickly jumped to between 0.71 to 1.1 per every 1,000 population in 1990, records show.

In the Philippines, it is estimated that there are at least 500,000 individuals affected with this neuron-behavior disorder. Sadly, a mere two percent of the total number, have sufficient access to medical help.

But scientists are oblivious to the reason why the disease is on a steady rise. Experts in the field are concerned why the cases of autism are increasing. Experts say there is no single cure for autism and approach should be multi-faceted.

Scientists theorized that autism could be a result of a host of factors, including neurologic, metabolism, genetic, infectious, immunological, and environmental causes.

To better understand autism, its cure and causes, scientists will converge in the Philippines in February next year for the first International Autism Conference in Asia.

Some people affected with the disease could appear normal, but they have social deficiency, language difficulties and repetitive manners.

Treating the disease is costly for the patient. Preliminary examination of autism is very costly reaching several hundreds of dollars, while succeeding check ups will run up to thousands of dollars more.

Other concerns raised by experts is the lack of schools targeted to the special needs of children with autism, especially autism in Charlotte.

People that suffer from insomnia are always looking for solutions to eliminate the effects of the condition so that they can get a good night’s sleep. There are a number of different treatment methods that can be used for curing insomnia but the most popular method seems to be the use of an insomnia medication. The number of people that are helped by insomnia medication increase each year as more people decide that medication is their best option.

What is the process of working of medication?

An insomnia medication is generally a medication that can be used as an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication. Because depression and anxiety are often pinpointed as two of the main causes of the condition, treating with these medications reduces the severity of their symptoms and helps them get to sleep each night.A person can get some insomnia medications over the counter but some others are only available by a doctor’s prescription.

Most types of insomnia medicationswork by changing the amount of the chemical serotonin present in the brain which regulates the person’s mood and reduces the amount of stress that they are feeling. Reducing the amount of anxiety the person is feeling can help the person manage the stress in their life.An individual’s sleep cycle is affected due to levels of the chemicals in the brain which gives rise to chronic insomnia.

Using a medication as an insomnia remedy can be dangerous because of the risk of dependence to the medication. Some people find that they become unable to sleep without taking the medication first while others find that they are taking more and more of the medication to achieve the desired effects. If a person finds that they are becoming dependent on the medication, they should stop taking it and consult their doctor immediately.

The Side Effects Of The Medication

The side effects associated with using an insomnia medication can vary, just like taking other types of medications. The most common side effect linked to taking an insomnia medication is lingering grogginess when the person awakens in the morning. Other side effects include congestion, headaches, and loss of balance. In many cases, the side effects will begin to disappear over time if the person uses the medication on a regular basis.

Insomnia medication can only be effective if the cause of the development of insomnia is stress or anxiety. If the insomnia is caused by something else, like a medical condition or a different medication, then this treatment method may be ineffective. It is important to understand what causes the insomnia before deciding on a treatment method for the condition. An insomnia medication is only effective in certain cases.

Effects On The Body

Chronic insomnia can have a harmful effect on different areas of the person’s health and the complications associated with the condition will increase in severity the longer the insomnia lasts. The body may experience fatigue, pale skin, nausea, tremors, weight fluctuations, and an ineffective immune system. The eyes may be affected by blurred vision, dark circles, twitching muscles, and even color blindness.

Chronic insomnia can also affect the brain, causing dizzy spells, fainting, headaches, irritability, and slurred speech. If the insomnia continues without treatment, the person may also begin to experience memory loss, confusion, inability to concentrate, hallucinations, and depression. If the chronic insomnia continues for a long period of time, psychotic episodes may occur and there is no guarantee that they will stop once the person returns to their normal sleeping pattern.

The inability to sleep for significant periods of time can result in difficulty thinking, lack of emotional control, delayed reaction times, and inability to handle stress effectively.A person suffering from chronic insomnia can have fatal effects of it. Researchers have found that rats that are deprived of sleep will die within three weeks of the experiment because the bodies can not handle chronic insomnia for long time periods.

Who Is Affected By The Condition?

Naturally occurring cases of chronic insomnia often affect senior citizens during their life time. As people become older, they become more vulnerable to the disorders that can result in chronic insomnia. Experts estimate that as many as 50% of the people over the age of 64 suffer from mild to severe insomnia. In many cases, these people will require some type of insomnia medication to return to their regular sleeping patterns.

Younger people are typically affected by chronic insomnia.A person suffering from chronic insomnia may behave like a drinker. The condition can affect the body in many different ways and can be a very unpleasant experience.

There are few common sleep apnea symptoms that include feeling tired in the morning, usually waking up with a headache in the morning, and feeling extremely sleepy during the daytime to the extent that you fall asleep during class, working or driving.

A person ought not ignore sleep apnea as it can be deadly. In sleep apnea an individual stop breathing for more than ten seconds while sleeping. This problem can be mild or severe conditioned on what number of time in am hour it happens and just how often enough air does not reach lungs. It might probably happen anywhere between 5-50 times per hour.

Sleep Apnea Symptoms

There are few common sleep apnea symptoms that may include feeling tired first thing in the morning, usually waking up with a headache every day, and feeling extremely sleepy throughout the daytime to the extent that you fall asleep during class, working or driving.

Other sleep apnea symptoms include things like loud noisy inhalation, gasping for air or choking while sleeping, stop breathing for 10 or more seconds and tossing and turning in your sleep as if you are quite restless. Kids who experience sleep apnea always snore, realize its difficult to breather during sleep and so are quite restless while sleeping. Many of them end up waking up many times during the nights. This also results in excessive sleepiness during the day.
Not being able to sleep well because of sleep apnea can lead to some serious health problems such as high blood pressure, high blood pressure in your lungs, abnormal heart rhythm, heart failure, stroke, depression or coronary artery disease.

90% of people struggling with sleep apnea symptoms are not even aware of it. Though the episodes of gasping for air and choking may occur so often in the course of the night, but you might not have any recollection. It’s possible to know of having or not a sleep apnea symptoms from their partner. It is important to distinguish between loud night breathing and sleep apnea.

Snoring is just an unpleasant that one makes while breathing during sleep as if there is an obstruction to the airway but snoring is not harmful. But, sleep apnea causes lack of oxygen as the airways are totally blocked which can have major health impact.

Treatment

Most typical sleep apnea treatment includes CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) in case of moderate to extreme sleep apnea that can be decided in accordance with the sleep apnea symptoms. To feel more at ease with CPAP, take your own time and make adjustments to the mask as per your convenience.

Individuals being affected by sleep apnea symptoms are not able to concentrate or remember in the course of the daytime. It is also a reason behind more accidents on road or in the work place. The possibility of car accident increases for the people experiencing sleep apnea. It is hence vital that you diagnose this disease based on sleep apnea symptoms. If you think you might be suffering from sleep apnea, get help of your partner or relatives who can videotape your sleep pattern which can then be shown to the doctor who can authenticate if the disease exits and its severity.
