His next movie ‘3’ directed and produced by his wife Aishwarya Dhanush will have all the songs written by him. The movie has music by Anirudh. The movie also stars Sruthi Hassan. A song written and sung by Dhanush has been leaked on the web. MAALAI NERATHU MAZAITHULI

Vijay is all set to rock the box office in 2012 with Nanban releasing in Pongal. He has also started the photo shoot for the AR Murugados directed ‘Maalai Nerathu Mazaithuli’. The film is expected to be full of action with a twist of love. The movie will be Vijay’s 54 th movie and the first with ARM. The movie is supposed to start this November and expected to be complete by March 2012. Harris will compose the music while the rest of the crew has not been decided. The movie’s offical phot shoot and the advertisement is expect later this month.

‘Nanban’ has also been completed and is in its post production stages with the music expected to release early December. The movie was in the news recently with Illeana causing some trouble since she failed to adjust with the cast and crew in the shooting spots during the song sequence of the ‘Zoobie Doobie’ starring Vijay and herself. Hence Farah decided to do most of the song without her casting only Vijay. Hope ‘All is well’ in the team.

Apart from these two movies, Vijay is also expected to start the Gautham Menon’s ‘Yohan’ later in 2012.

Mayakkam Enna initially slated for the Diwali release has been pushed two weeks back due to the non availability of theatres due to 7am Arivu and Velayutham. It is surprising that Ra one managed to grab theatres while Mayakkam Enna did not. The movie is planned to release on November 18. The movie’s songs which are a run away hit has transformed Dhanush into a lyricist as well. Selva has told that the movie will screen two versions of the ‘Kadhal Yen Kadhal’ song. One version will be available from the day one while the other will be added after a week of the release.

We also hear that Dhanush is in Mumbai to kick start his Directorial dreams in Bollywood. The actor is fast completing his movie ‘3’ and is ready for his directorial Debut.

Diwali Box office Collections

This Diwali has been the same for Kollywood with two heavyweights fighting it out for the supremacy. Surya’s 7am Arivu versus Vijay’s Velayutham. 7am Arivu made at a budget of around 80 crores has been screened around at 1000plus theatres worldwide, has managed to collect around 37 crores the first week(41 crores so far). With critics citing the movie’s excessive advertising as the main reason for the movie’s underperformance.

On the other hand, Vijay’s commercial comeback.made at around 45crores and screened around in 650 theatres has managed to get 31 crores in the first week of Diwali(around 52 crores so far) .With words spreading about the movie, the movie is sure to surpass 7am arivu in the box office in the days to come as theatres are planning to reduce 7am Arivu’s screening numbers.

Ra one made at an whooping 150 crores has released worldwide in a grand manner. Though the critics has degraded the movie, it has managed to collect over 190 crores world wide and also the telecast rights for about 40 crores and the merchandise collection has made sure that Shahrukh stays the “Badshah of Bollywood”.
