Shhh...I just heard that mommy is going outstation for a few days and I have decided that I will come along.

As you can see, her luggage bag fits me perfectly.

There's ample room not just for leg rest but for my whole body..hehehe

There's even room for mommy's blue towel

As you can see, I decided to bring my favorite toy Little Chick along for this trip. What!! I'm summon to come out from the luggage.....but but I wanna come along...

Bah! this was a perfect plan for me to follow mommy but she said that there's no room for her toiletries. Silly mommy! she just needs bones to get her teeth just like how I do it. Why does she need room for toiletries. I am more important than all these other things......

Still at the end, I have to stay back home because there's not enough room for me T T

In the world of needles

As a dog with a hot and damp issues within, it has brought me into this world of needles. Needles that prick yet its these needles that has got me going for the better in my health. Yup, this world of needles is what the human refers as acupuncture treatment.

Here I am chilling out at the treatment table with needles on my body.

Rest assured, acupuncture is not painful. I only have a tiny of discomfort when there are points that are giving me trouble meaning stagnation issues. This happens when the needles are being inserted in. Once it gets in, all is well and I'll chill at that the table for 20 mins.

This journey have also caused me to begin to do more study on Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCVM) which involves acupuncture, herbal medicines, acupressure and food therapies. I'm just wondering how this small peanut brain of mine is able to get all these information in but fortunately I have a good assistant, my "Mommy".....hehehe, her brains are bigger than mine so it should be able to store in those useful information.

In fact, I have her do all the reading and just summarize it by trying it out on me ^^ Actually..my mommy is the kind that likes to understand things so she will spend her time to read and ask questions on what this TCVM is all about.

I overheard our vet acupuncturist, Dr. Susanna Brida- Hofherr praising mommy as one who is willing to do more reading in order to understand better. This is the reason, she recommended that we well..mommy should start off by reading this book called Four Paws, Five Directions: A Guide to Chinese Medicine for Cats and Dogs [Paperback] Cheryl Schwartz (Author), Mark Ed. Schwartz (Author)

Rosemary Chicken nuggets

Mommy tried her hand in making some rosemary chicken nuggets.

This is what she calls healthy homemade pet treats.

This recipe requires 250-280gm of minced chicken meat, some dried rosemary powder and some brown rice powder to act as a binder. Mix all together then flatten it with a rolling pin to about 1/2 inch thick. Then use your favorite cookie cutter to cut it. Arrange all nuggets on your baking tray lined with baking sheet, bake it for about 20mins or till golden brown on both sides.

We got about 40 pieces of these.

Ahhh...I can't wait to try this nuggies!! Give me!! Give me!!..

Peeling Onions

Yes, we know we have been missing for a long while, we will try to fill you in along the way on why we go MIA.

Now, what's with this "peeling onions"....it certainly is not about eating onions but rather learning how things in life can be like an onion. Superficially it may look fine but upon the peeling of the layers that we began to discover something deeper.

It all began when early this year, Jon Terry began to scratch his upper abdomen and those few tiny red rashes are bumping up on his upper abdomen again. He seems to have it periodically about once to twice a year, despite using those naturals sprays and all = =

Western medications seem to have done what it could so it left me looking for other alternatives, which had me cross paths with Dr. Susanna Brida-Hofherr of ASIA PAWS. She is a lovely certified vet who is practicing Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) using acupunture as the principal tool for treatment. You can read more about TCVM, here at ASIA PAWS.

Like any holistic program, we must learn to be patience because we are not just nursing the superficial but going in depth to find the root cause which is so much like "peeling of onion"! It's the peeling of the layers in a onion till we discover the core. Jon Terry is said to have this "heat" and "dampness" condition. It's upon this diagnosis, that it began to make sense to me about why Jon Terry behaves certain manner.

Jon Terry loves to go out and have car rides but he had always have this problem where he be panting and later let out a squeal or cry when he's out for a car rides in the morning or why he would be panting after a short evening walk. It's obvious he wants to walk some more but he needs lots of water.Internally, he was actually heaty!

In fact, just after his first session of acupuncture which help to reduce the heat and dampness in his body, he was enjoying his morning and evening car rides without any panting and squeal.Now, he's capable of having long evening walks without any problem.

Yes, Jon Terry is still undergoing his acupuncture sessions which he loves alot and there's a very good reason to it, which I will tell you later on. Together with homecooked diet, he's getting better.What about the itch and those rashes? I'll tell you more in the coming post.

This "peeling onions" journey also have me confront the real reason why I numbed my intuition and common sense but stick to the routine for Jon Terry. I was afraid that what had happen to my late Teddy would happen again. Eventhough, I was told that his death was likely to be something viral, deep down I felt guilty, and blamed myself for not being able to help him.

Dr. Susanna said, "perhaps the late Teddy was not meant to be but the very fact that he was with you, right till the point he left, to him that was comforting, coz he left in his own home and in your arms." It looks like, it 's not just Jon Terry that had his "peeling onions" session but me too.

Chinese New Year

Bountiful Treasures

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, mommy is busy experimenting with this recipe called Bountiful Treasures. This is how it looks like.

I don't understand why it's called Bountiful Treasures as I can seem to find any big bones except a skinny ducky bone..where are the treasures then???

Me secretly, having a sniff and whiff at the pot of Bountiful Treasures- all the waxed meat, duck and sausages.

I don't get to try some of it????

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Yes! I know I have been missing for a long time but I missed all of you, my dear friends in the bloggie world lotsa!!

I have been pretty busy being a round the clock nurse for mommy as she was down with this very bad headaches and neck & shoulder pains. Anyway, she ended having to see a TCM(traditional chinese med) Doc at a hospital that practices both western and chinese med. It seems that this long hours of sitting at the computer together with her sitting posture that's not in alignment has contributed to the neck and shoulder pain. No worries though, mommy is getting better under the care of this sweet lovely doctor.

I have a feeling that the computer is not to happy seeing that we have ignored "IT". I was right with my hunch, "IT" decided to throw "ITS" major tantrum. It sure was a big one coz "IT" refused to operate @ all !!!!

That's what I have been telling her that machines do have feelings too...but does she ever listen....sigh! This major tantrum could only be pacified by the repaired man and it's after much coaxing and pampering i.e giving a new motherboard that make "IT" happily operating again.

Now that is how we ended last year 2011. It sure was not the way we wanted but we believe at then end of every dark tunnel there's always a bright light shinning! No matter how dark the nights turn, there's always a twinkling star giving us light and hope, assuring us of a light guiding us to the path of greater lights. It's with this believe and hope that we enter the YEAR 2012.

I have been missing from bloggie land for like a long time....Oops! I could not even remember how long mommy took a break. I personally didn't want to take a break but mommy was not well so I have to take care of her.

Anyway, mommy injured her lower back so she was having some problems sitting, standing and even sleeping. Grandpa was worried that she might have slipped disc but thankfully it was not. I suspect that it was mommy just trying to get some attention and care from me her cute little male nurse ^^

I faithfully stayed by mommy to give her some Tender Loving Care and kisses too :D

So you can see that it was with ~~pilates~~ my care that she recover well. I reckon that i do very well as a male doggie nurse don't you think so?

But then being a doggie nurse is quite tiring too!

I remember in my previous post when I introduce Yellow Bird, some of you asking about him. Well, we manage to gather so information about him.

In our national language Bahasa, yellow bird is actually called the Burung Kunyit Besar. Mommy laughed and said he lived up to his name. You see the word, "kunyit" means tumeric so now you know why he's called the "tumeric" bird ..hahahahahaha.

Anyway, thanks to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, we got the info we need about him.

The Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis) is a bird of the oriole family and is found in many parts of Asia. the Black-naped Oriole has the stripe broadening and joining at the back of the neck.
