That compared with a 2.1% weight loss in patients who received a placebo, according to the New England Journal of Medicine.

Those results are similar to the Wegovy pill but less than injectable versions of Wegovy and Zepbound.

Beyond weight loss, Lilly said Foundayo also reduced several markers of cardiovascular risk, including waist circumference, non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and systolic blood pressure across all doses.

Pricing and Access

People with insurance coverage could pay $25 a month with a coupon from Lilly, while people paying out of pocket could pay between $149 and $349, depending on the dose.

Under the Trump administration deal, Medicare will cover the pill for some patients with a monthly copay of no more than $50, starting as soon as July 1.

Lilly said the drug will be available for free home shipping via its LillyDirect platform starting April 6, with broader availability via pharmacies and telehealth providers shortly after.

Anysphere Launches Cursor 3, an Agent-First Workspace Integrated Into Its AI Code Editor

San Francisco-based Anysphere, parent of Cursor on April 2 released Cursor 3, a complete redesign of its AI-powered code editor built from the ground up around managing fleets of AI coding agents.

The new interface sits inside the existing desktop application and shifts the primary workflow from traditional code editing to directing, monitoring, and reviewing autonomous agents that handle feature implementation, testing, and deployment.

The update arrives as the company and the broader industry move deeper into what Cursor has described as the third era of AI software development, where agents tackle larger tasks independently over extended periods with minimal ongoing human input.

Engineers at Cursor already report that more than one-third of their own pull requests come from agents running on cloud infrastructure.

According to the company's official blog post, Cursor 3 creates a unified workspace that brings clarity to agent-generated work. It features a sidebar listing all active agents, whether launched from the desktop, mobile app, web, Slack, GitHub, or Linear.

Users can run multiple agents in parallel across repositories, with cloud-based agents automatically generating demos and screenshots for quick verification.

A key addition is seamless handoff between local and cloud environments.

Developers can shift an agent session from cloud to local for rapid iteration using Cursor's Composer 2 model or move a local session to the cloud to continue running offline.

The interface also includes an updated diffs view that streamlines editing, reviewing, staging, committing, and opening pull requests.

Jonas Nelle, one of Cursor's heads of engineering, said in an interview with WIRED that the profession has changed markedly in recent months.

"In the last few months, our profession has completely changed," Nelle stated.

"A lot of the product that got Cursor here is not as important going forward anymore." Nelle added.

Cursor pioneered AI integration in a Visual Studio Code fork when it launched in 2023 and quickly became one of the largest customers of models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

The new release directly addresses the rise of dedicated agentic tools such as Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex, which have drawn developers with generous usage limits.

Cursor 3 differentiates itself by embedding the agent workflow inside a full development environment that retains access to files, language server protocol features, an integrated browser, and a marketplace for plugins that extend agent capabilities with custom tools and sub-agents.

The company continues to invest in its own models, including Composer 2, which it positioned as competitive on performance and cost for agentic tasks.

Users can activate the new interface immediately after updating the desktop app by opening the command palette and selecting "Agents Window."

The launch underscores Cursor's bet that the future of software development centers on developers acting as orchestrators of agent teams rather than individual coders.

The company has made the interface optional, preserving access to the original IDE layout for users who prefer it, but the core design now prioritizes agent management as the default experience.

AO3 Exits Open Beta After 17 Years

Archive of Our Own has dropped its beta label. The fanfiction platform, run by the Organization for Transformative Works, announced the change on April 2. The site first entered open beta in 2009.

At launch AO3 had 347 registered accounts and 6,598 works. Invitations to join went out manually by volunteers at a rate of about 1,200 per day during the early surge and later slowed to 50 per day.

The platform now sends around 6,000 invitations every 12 hours. It reached 10 million registered users and 17 million fanworks in recent months.

Features added over the years include the tag system and tag wrangling process, the option to orphan works, offline downloads in multiple formats, privacy controls for individual works, and separate viewing modes for chapters or entire multi-chapter stories.

Recent updates introduced new filtering options for bookmarks and collections along with redesigned buttons on posting and editing forms.

The removal of the beta tag from the site logo is largely cosmetic. AO3 software has remained stable for an extended period, and the shift does not signal that development has ended.

"Exiting beta doesn’t mean we’ll stop continuing to improve AO3—our volunteer coders and community contributors will still be working to add to and improve AO3 every day," the official announcement states.

Documentation may continue to reference the beta phase during the transition period.

The Organization for Transformative Works has posted a public Jira board that lists current bugs and planned features.

Coding contributions remain welcome through the project’s GitHub repository, with all contributors credited in release notes.

Non-coding volunteers can join support teams or other committees that maintain the archive. Users with feature requests or bug reports can contact AO3 Support directly.

For those who joined during the open beta years, the organization released a commemorative badge reading “I was here for beta” that can be embedded in profiles or shared elsewhere.

The platform will carry forward its growth under the post-beta label while the same volunteer structure and donor funding continue to support ongoing maintenance and expansion.

NASA's Artemis II Crew Leaves Earth Orbit for Historic Moon Flyby After Successful Engine Burn

NASA's Artemis II mission reached a critical milestone on April 2 when the four-person crew aboard the Orion spacecraft completed the translunar injection burn and departed Earth orbit on a path toward the Moon.

The maneuver, which lasted five minutes and 50 seconds, committed the spacecraft to a free-return trajectory that will carry it around the Moon and back to Earth without requiring further major propulsion adjustments.

The burn occurred at 7:49 p.m. EDT, roughly 25 hours after the Space Launch System rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 1 at 6:35 p.m. EDT.

At the time, Orion and its attached interim cryogenic propulsion stage had a combined mass of about 58,000 pounds. The spacecraft's main engine, providing up to 6,000 pounds of thrust, consumed roughly 1,000 pounds of fuel during the firing.

The crew consists of NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, commander; Victor Glover, pilot; Christina Koch, mission specialist; and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, mission specialist.

They are flying aboard the Orion spacecraft named Integrity on the first crewed lunar flyby since Apollo 17 in 1972. The approximately 10-day mission serves as a full-system test of the SLS rocket and Orion in deep space ahead of planned crewed lunar landings later this decade.

According to NASA's official Flight Day 2 update, mission managers polled "Go" for the burn after confirming the spacecraft systems were ready.

Ground teams had earlier completed a perigee raise maneuver to refine the initial Earth orbit and conducted proximity operations with the spent propulsion stage after separation.

Just after the burn, Hansen radioed mission control from orbit.

"With that successful TLI, the crew's feeling pretty good up here on our way to the moon, and we just wanted to communicate to everyone around the planet who's worked to make Artemis possible that we firmly felt the power of your perseverance during every second of that burn," he said. "Humanity has once again shown what we are capable of, and it's your hopes for the future that carry us now on this journey around the moon."

The crew spent the hours immediately following the burn exercising on Orion's compact flywheel device, which provides both aerobic and resistive workouts within the spacecraft's tight volume constraints.

They also checked out scientific payloads, including the AVATAR experiment, and participated in their first downlink with reporters on the ground.

A brief communications dropout shortly after reaching orbit was traced to a ground-side configuration issue with the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite system and resolved without affecting operations.

The mission will not land on the Moon. Instead, the crew will conduct observations of lunar surface features during a roughly six-hour window on April 6, including craters, ancient lava flows, and tectonic features.

They are also scheduled to view a solar eclipse from lunar distance and observe the Sun's corona. These activities will help refine targeting plans for future Artemis landings.

As of April 3, the crew remains in good health and the spacecraft continues to perform as expected on its outbound trajectory. The mission is scheduled to end with a Pacific Ocean splashdown around April 11.
