“You Found Me is a tough song for me. It's about the disappointment, the heart ache, the let down that comes with life. [...] There’s some difficult circumstances my family and friends have been going through over the past year or so and can be overwhelming. It wears on me. [...] This song is about that feeling, and the hope that I still have, buried deep in my chest.” Furthermore, in a Reuters article about the new album, Slade says that the lyrics for "You Found Me" were written two and a half years ago, and that the song is asking the question about why bad things happen to good people after some of their friends and family went through very tough times.
The video was shot with Josh Forbes as the director. There has been no official word on when the video will debut. It was confirmed by BBC Radio 1 that the song will be used to promote the fifth season of Lost.

Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy

2008-10-27T14:29:00.003+00:00

Genre: hard-rock

About the song:
"Chinese Democracy" is a hard rock song by Guns N' Roses, and the title track from their sixth studio album, "Chinese Democracy". The song is a big comeback for the group on the music market as their last single was released in 1999, although the song itself is actually 7 years old.
Axl Rose, the frontman, about the song: “The movie "Kundun" was on about the Dalai Lama. I was getting ready to leave, the TV was on and it was the end of the movie. And the Dalai Lama is about to cross over the border, to you know, be in exile for the rest of his life from his own country. And he looks back at the men who helped him, and you know he’s escaped the Chinese government. And he looks back at them and he waves and they wave at him. And then they show a scene where he looks back at them again and he sees every one of them dead. Because he knew they would be killed, and they knew that in helping him they would be killed. And you know the emotion in this next song, that’s all that’s about. It’s not like an intelligent song. It doesn’t have the answer to anything. And it's not necessarily pro or con about China. It's just that right now China symbolizes one of the strongest, yet most oppressive countries and governments in the world. And we are fortunate to live in a free country. And so in thinking about that it just kinda upset me, and we wrote this little song called "Chinese Democracy."

Madonna - Miles Away

2008-10-27T14:01:00.004+00:00

Genre: pop

About the song:
"Miles Away" is the third single by Madonna from her eleventh studio album, "Hard Candy". Though it was first released as a promotional single in Japan due to its being the theme music for the Fuji TV drama Change. Apart from Madonna herself the song was produced by Madonna, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake & Danja. The music for "Miles Away" was written first, and Madonna began singing and writing the lyrics for the song after listening to it. Madonna said that the song was inspired by her then husband, Guy Ritchie, "but then you take it on. You realise so many people have to deal with long distance relationships. It's not easy. You have to work hard to make it work." When asked if the song was autobiographical, she said: "Probably in many respects most of the songs [on Hard Candy] are [autobiographical]. But in more of an unconscious way. I don't really think about telling personal stories when I'm writing music. It just comes. And then a lot of times, six months later, eight months later, I go, "Oh, that's what I wrote that song about." But that's when I play the song for lots of people and they all go, "Oh, I can totally relate to that." In "Miles Away" I'm tapping into the global consciousness of people who have intimacy problems.” The cover art for the single depicts passport stamps of her European dates from the 2008 Sticky & Sweet Tour.
