Plot
The third part opens with the Nameless Hero and his friends sailing to a new continent overrun with orcs, arriving in the Myrtana, the central region of the continent. The hero lost all his stuff from the previous game when his ship is stolen while he’s onshore with Milten, Diego, Gorn, and Lester. Presumably this is the source of the orc invasion that was launched on Khorinis during the second chapter. These lands have no physical connection to Khorinis or the ruins of the penal colony. In these mountainous forests the orcs have enslaved the human kingdom with only a few free humans living in the nearly uninhabitable icy northlands of Nordmar and the southern desert of Varant. The hero must decide whether to join the rebellion and stay true to the deposed human king, serve the Orcish usurpers in their quest to topple the last remaining human stronghold, or choose a path that serves his own ends. Throughout the story, he is accompanied by a number of NPCs, some of whom are old friends. While this chapter brings forward friends from the previous title (Xardas, Diego, Milten, Gorn, Lester, Lee, and Vatras) it also introduces two new major characters; King Rhobar the Second (who ultimately was responsible for sending the Nameless Hero to the penal colony in the first game) and Zuben. While the king has a strong past as a bold leader, he now faces a near defeat; his fame on the decline. Zuben leads the Hashishin that inhabit the southern region of Varant.
Gameplay
The player must complete quests and slay wild animals and monsters to earn experience and improve skills. The game is reputation centric allowing the player to side with a faction. While there are six factions in the game, only three are joinable: the Rebels, the Orc mercenaries and the Assassins. The remaining factions are the Rangers, the Nomads and the people of Nordmar. The player is able to take advantage of missons to allow either side to take over towns. Dialog changes according to in-game actions and behavior. The game places a special focus on the interactivity of the environment. The game claimed to employ an unusual combat system which emphasizes carefully timed combinations of strikes, requiring the player to read the body language of attacking opponents. However, in practice, many players found the combat system lacking such unique features and have been known to describe it as a “button mashing clickfest.” The most successful strategy during combat seemed to be to just click the left mouse button as quickly as possible: if timed correctly at the beginning any enemy could be defeated with relative ease. The controls have been altered slightly with a stronger focus on action. Navigation and combat are more mouse-centric, with each mouse button having a different combat action. The Nameless Hero can also now wield dual weapons or use a shield.

Overview
Diverging from previous Driver games, Parallel Lines takes place in just one city, New York, instead of multiple cities, but in the middle of the story you change to different eras of the city – 1978 and 2006. Due to the underwhelming performance of Driv3r, particularly the often-derided on-foot sections, Parallel Lines returns to the formula used in earlier games in the series, focusing on driving, although shooting remains in the game. The game was received better by critics than the last game, but still was criticized, including its simple gameplay, hit-or-miss controls, and derivative storyline[4]. This is the first game of the Driver series that does not follow undercover cop Tanner. TK, the new main character, received Game Informer’s “Biggest Dork of 2006″ award.
Gameplay
Driver: Parallel Lines takes place in an entirely open world environment. Instead of choosing minigames from a menu as in previous Driver titles, minigames are now accessed from the in-game world. Many changes have been made from the previous game, including visible blood when someone is shot, a money system, fully modifiable vehicles, environment destruction (i.e., lamp posts can now be run over and fire hydrants can break, spewing water into the air), and a new felony system that differentiates between personal felony and felony “attached” to vehicles the player has used. If the player attracts police attention on foot or in a certain vehicle and then loses the police and enters a “clean” car, their wanted level will be suspended. It can be reactivated, though, by spending too much time in the sight of a police officer, who will eventually recognize the player as “wanted”. The same principle applies to out-of-car activities, such as weapon use, and allows the player to holster a weapon in order to lose police attention until spotted committing illegal acts again. For the Wii version, the felony bar has been replaced with Grand Theft Auto-esque “stars” which light up when the player attracts police attention. Also, swimming and jumping abilities from Driv3r, were removed.
The game was originally intended to include online multiplayer, but this was scrapped when it became apparent to the developers that they could not deliver a strong multiplayer mode[5] and wanted to focus entirely on the single-player portion of the game. The instant replay film director mode of previous Driver games was removed from Parallel Lines. Instead, the only available cinematic mode is the fixed-perspective slow-motion “Thrill Camera”.

Plot
The plot follows the story of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, with some variation in characters and plot detail.
At first a zealot of Christendom, Voivod Dracula forsakes his faith at the loss of his unrequited love, who opts to commit suicide rather than give in to him. As his embitterment boils, Dracula begins to delve heavily into Satanic practice. Unsatisfied with mortality, he drinks the blood of a rival in a pact with the Devil, placing upon him the curse that transforms him into the first vampire. In exchange for immortal powers, Dracula becomes a servant of Satan, bent on the destruction of humanity, finding his only solace in feeding upon human blood and seeking revenge for his lover’s death, for which he guiltily feels party to being unable to save her.
Upon learning of an antediluvian manuscript detailing a strange rite alleged to return souls from the dead, Dracula seeks to revive his former lover’s soul. When Johnathan Harker, a disciple of Van Helsing, sets out to combat the terror of Dracula’s power, he sends a letter to his professor details Dracula’s intention regarding the manuscript and his plan to resurrect his lover’s soul into the body of a young woman, Johnathan’s fiancée Mina Murray, chosen for her remarkable resemblance to his lover’s former appearance. Johnathan’s letter arrives but Johnathan does not return, implying that he already succumbs to Dracula’s power.
Professor Abraham Van Helsing, the protagonist, embarks to defeat Dracula before he finds the manuscript and abducts the body of Mina, traveling throughout Europe to do so. He begins with a London cemetery he believes Dracula to be occupying, and his adventures take him to the streets and tombs of Cairo, the salons of Vienna’s aristocracy and a Rococo library that leads him on the trail to secretive damned monastery to stop the evil plots being concocted therein. The vampire hunter then finds his way to Transylvania at last, to the famous castle of Dracula to complete his task.Gameplay
The game is played through the first-person eyes of Van Helsing, in a point-a-click style. Using collected objects and puzzles, the player advances through the story interacting with various characters to find their way through the adventure.
The game also features a progressive help system, providing players stuck on particular puzzles with increasingly detailed clues to help them advance.
Characters
Count Dracula, the antagonist, is a young, attractive, religious vampire, rendered immortal by a pact with Satanic forces. Mourning the loss and suffering the abandonment of his suicidal former love, Dracula has become godless and heartless; powerful, but pitiful, and seeks retribution for his pain against the human race.
Professor Abraham Van Helsing is a famous Dutch teacher at the University of Medicine in London. Known more for his involvement in supernatural study and vampire hunting, he bravely takes it upon himself to ending the terror of Dracula.
Mina Murray is Jonathan Harker’s fiancée, and a student and friend of Professor Van Helsing. Pure and good, she embodies the essence of Dracula’s lost love, succumbing to his power and doomed to be stripped of her soul for her bodily vessel.
Dr. Seward A young doctor, and another contact and friend of Van Helsing. He aids Mina at her sickbed, strving to free her from the demonic grip of Dracula that has weakened her so.
Herodote, a priest and healer in Cairo, Egypt. Possesses the knowledge, but, due to his old age, not the ability required to release the curse Dracula has put upon Mina.
Jada, a beautiful but deadly disciple of Dracula, devoted to serving and protecting her master.
Igor is Dracula’s coachman in Transylvania. Of demonic-will and ill-intent, he is another devotee of Dracula, sharing his contempt for humans, and carrier-out of Dracula’s menial, dirty bidding.
