What Happened?

The Gators started the season strong winning their first 4 games. Since the 4-0 start the Gators are 0-3 and have been outscored 96-27. During the losing streak many things haven’t gone right for the Gators and people are trying to figure out what or who to blame. Is it the coaching, injuries, the offense, the defense, or the hard schedule. It’s probably a little bit of all of those things. With that said the Gators must continue to practice and play hard and use this as a learning experience. Good thing for Gator fans we can’t lose this week. Gators have an off week before they take on the Georgia Bulldogs on October 29, in Jacksonville. Go Gators!

Gators look to turn season around at Auburn

Before the 2011 football season started I looked at the schedule. What I saw was a very tough October. Four games in five weeks that started with Alabama at home. Road games against LSU and Auburn. A week off and then the annual game in Jacksonville against Georgia. As a fan I wanted to go 4-0 in the month, but would be really happy if we went 2-2. The Gators still have a chance to do that when they travel to play #24 Auburn (4-2). The Gators will most likely have to do it with their 3rd string QB freshman Jacoby Brissett. At this point in the season the Gators must take it one game at a time. The game against Auburn will be televised on ESPN at 7 p.m. on Saturday night. Go Gators!

Gators Must Move On After Defeat

How tough is the SEC? After a 38-10 loss to Alabama, the Gators have to go on the road to #2 LSU this weekend. Add the fact that the Gators will be without Senior quarterback John Brantley and you could say things aren’t looking that great in Gator nation. Saturday will mark the first career start for the highly touted freshman Jeff Driskel. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS. Gator fans should think about tailgating early for this one because you might want to forget the outcome. Go Gators!

Muschamp, Gators Look For Big Win

Will Muschamp coached his first game for the Gators September 3, 2011. The Will Muschamp era officially begins October 1, 2011, in the Swamp. The Gators will take on #2 Alabama Saturday night in Gainesville. This is why Muschamp came to Florida to play in huge games. This is the 1st real test for Muschamp and his Gator squad and a game that could shape the Gator season. With a win the Gators would improve to 5-0 jump into the top 10 and change the minds of many critics in college football. The Muschamp era will not be defined by this game alone, but it will start with this game. Go Gators!

Gators Cruise Past Kentucky, Alabama Up Next

The Gators took care of business Saturday night defeating Kentucky 48-10 in Lexington. Once again it was the duo of Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey that led the Gators. Demps had 157 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries. Rainey added 105 yards on 15 carries. The Gators looked strong against Kentucky, but now they hit the meat of their SEC schedule. Saturday the Gators take on undefeated Alabama at 8 p.m. in the Swamp. The Gators will be looking to get revenge against an Alabama team that crushed the Gators 31-6 last year in Tuscaloosa. Go Gators!

#6 Gator Volleyball Sweeps SEC Opener

The Gators swept their SEC season opener against Mississippi State on Friday night 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 26-24). The Gators improve to 8-2 on the season and take on Kentucky at home on Friday night. Go Gators!

#9 Gator Soccer Gets a Pair of Road Wins Over the Weekend

On Friday night the Gators got two goals from Annie Speese and defeated Missouri 2-0. Sunday the Gators defeated Kansas 7-2. The Gators finished their non conference schedule with a 7-2 record. The Gators open up SEC play on the road against Georgia on Friday night. Go Gators!

Gators Get 7th Consecutive Win Over Tennessee

On Saturday afternoon the Gators continued their recent dominance over Tennessee with a 33-23 victory. It’s the 7th consecutive time the Gators have defeated the Vols. The Gators were led by running back Chris Rainey. Rainey had 108 yards rushing, 104 yards receiving with a touchdown, and blocked a punt on special teams. The Gator run defense was stout allowing -9 total rushing yards to the Vols. Questions still remain in the young Gator secondary, but we will find out more in the coming weeks. The Gators improved to 3-0 (1-0) in the SEC. Next game for the Gators is on the road against Kentucky, Saturday night at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Go Gators!

#9 Gator Soccer wins 5-0

Gator soccer got back on track Sunday and defeated Florida Gulf Coast 5-0. Florida got goal from 5 different players and improved to 5-2 on the season. Next game for the Gators will be on the road against Missouri, Friday night. Go Gators!
