Im in crazy spring cleaning mode lately, trying to keep my mind off my tooth especially.. yeah when you resort to cleaning, you know its bad. Ive been in a makeup rut, using the same things over and over. I tend to go for my Deep throat Nars blsh in my At first sight palette that I need to blog about! its a great palate to take away for the weekend.

Its a sheer flirty peachy color, that has less shimmer than orgasm. I good to go blush that you can not mess up!

But since I have been reaching for this one so often, I've neglected my other blushes that I have. My other babies! One in particular....

Its Frankly Scarlet by MAC! I don't own a lot of MAC cosmetics, shocking I know... but the ones that I do own are some cult products from them. I wanted to get something from them that was different, not like the other blushes I already owned. When I got this bad boy in the mail, I made the mistake of adding a crap load to the brush and yeah... it was a hot mess! With this blush, the mantra less is more.. less is more.... less is more! I grabbed it from my drawer and have been adding it to my make up the past few days. It gives a pop of color, like someone either pinched you or slapped you! If you want a great dupe for this color, NYX makes a matte red that is its long lost twin!

Want a flushed look? If you are going for a light coverage day perhaps using a tinted moisturizer or a bb cream, put on a cream blush first. Then apply the bb cream or tinted moisturizer, it will blend with the cream blush giving you the flushed look you desire.

I do this a lot, especially with this cream blush from Stila in Poppy. It gives me the flush that makes me look like I'm not wearing blush, but secretly am ;)

Sorry about the lack of posts from me, Ive been battling a terrible toothache. Went to the dentist and basically, me and the dentist are going to be close friends the next few months. I need a lot of dental work. Ah teeth.

I had some CVS bucks that were expiring, so I had some time to kill the other day so I went to CVS to see what the had, the cvs by me is pretty bleak when it comes to new things. SO I wasn't shocked when they had nothing new. And when they do, its blended in with the older make up, so you have to dig to find new things. I did get a few things that I read good things about-

*Everything except the wet n wild palette and the nail envy is from CVS.

Revlon Color Stay 24 hour foundation-
Ive been reading a ton of raves about the Revlon Color Stay 24 hour foundation, I remember trying it a long time ago and not feeling it. I think the formula improved or maybe i was crazy, bt this stuff is amazing! I think its my new foundation.

OPI Nail Envy-
My nails stink, they don't grow, they peel.. they blow. I'm giving nail envy a try to see if anything happens. So far, its so/so. To early to report anything.

Freeman Purifying Paper mask-
I love me some facial paper masks, well facial masks in general. I especially like the peely ones.. he he. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks promising!

Biore-
Biore is a hit or miss, I love the nose strips, but the face ones, do not work for me. I'm a big fan of anything charcoal at the moment, so I scooped this trial size face wash to see if it was worth getting the bigger size. Ive used it a few times, and I have to say I'm impressed. It cleans very well, so I may get the bigger size after I finish the 30 facial cleaners I have right now... I have a problem!

Rimmel Stay Matte primer-
I love there powder, probably the best powder Ive have used. I wanted to get this for the summer because my skin becomes gross and oilier, basically super sexy. I tried it over my make up the other day, and I report it works great!

NYC Lexington Lilac-
I LOVE THIS COLOR. I do not own anything close to it. Which is shocking, because I own 300 billion nail polishes. I can't believe this polish is only $1. It goes on like a dream, and is opaque in 2 coats. Def will be getting more of these polishes, this shows you that even though its cheap doesn't mean its crap. I can say that this actually puts a few more pricer polishes I own to shame..

Ill do a separate post on the wet n wild palette. Believe me, it deserves it!

We all have that arensal of make up products that we use, always grab for, even though we have a ton of products in our makeup collection. It always does the job and never lets you down. Well here are a few of mine:

Urban decay zero eyeliner:
Every girl needs a black eyeliner and this is the one that I always grab for. I do use other ones, like stila and Smashbox. But since I seem to have a never ending supply for these bad boys, I have come to depend on them. It will be a very sad day when I have none left and have to actually buy one!

Rimmel stay matte powder:
There is a reason this product has a cult following, its amazing! Even with the old lady smell it has, I still use this over my other powders. Even my Loreal perfect match powder. And its so cheap!

Cherry Chapstick:
This one is odd, or is it? Im not really a lipstick person (but Erika, How can you not be a lipstick person?) Because for some reason, when I do wear it, I look like a clown. Ive been more of a stain, balm kind of girl as of late. Occasionally Ill put on some gloss. But cherry chapstick over a stain seems to make me a happy camper.

Elf HD foundation:
I wrote about this a few months ago, and I'm still using it. I may repurchase this, but only for the winter. In the summer, I try not to use anything heavy, as Ive been blessed with a super oily T-zone. Yay! The coverage is pretty damn good and it seems to work with the powder.

I have the sickest YouTube obsession. I watch videos at night, right before I go to bed and its just a calming and relaxing ritual for me. Most of them are shockingly beauty, so I'll start with them first:

EssieButton:
I've been watching her videos nonstop at night, I think she is the love child of Misha Barton and Ashley green. Another blogger who has a sense of humor! My two favorite things beauty and humor!

Meghan Rosette:
Ive never seen so much energy in a person, but its a good kind. Like a goofy kind. I love her beauty favorites, because she also includes non beauty items.

Hilarious, she does a series of videos of love and hated products and they always crack me up! Another gorgeous blogger to boot. She's ridiculously beautiful.

Beauty Crush:
She is gorgeous! I like how her videos are spread out on different topics. I can see why she is so popular.

And of course I need comic relief so I re-watch Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. He has been on of my favorite comics for over 10 years now. I love him. Seriously.

I also watch drawing tutorials all the time on the ole tube, Mark Crilley is amazing. I love his recent Elsa drawing, he is magic. Also FROZEN. If you do not love this movie, then well, I can not even acknowledge your existence. Obsessed!

I admit it, I utterly suck at it. I have all the tools. All the best contouring products including Laguna bronzer from Nars, but I can't seem to get it right. I follow the steps, suck in my cheeks, follow the hollow, blend blend blend.. and it looks like i have a brown strip on the side of my face. I seriously can not get it right. In other news, seems Kim K can't either this time. I've seen her with her face contoured before but yeesh, did she not have a mirror on hand? Okay, no more jabs. But girl, your better then this:

Everybody has those days when they are late, overslept, look like complete shit (Language Erika!) and have about 2 minutes to look human. Well that happened the other day, I over slept and had to get ready in seriously no time. SO this is what I chose:

Garnier BB cream for Combo skin in Medium. I friggin love this stuff. It covers so well, and lasts! I have had this tube for almost a year now, and the a little goes a long way! My only dislike, is the smell... Yeesh it smells like pure rubbing alcohol.

Benefit- They're Real! I love this mascara, it really is a great mascara. Worth the 20$+ Even though I have like three mini tubes from various benefit gifts, I will gladly purchase this stuff when I run through them.

Benefit Dandelion - Gives a subtle glow look, and doubles as a blush for me. You can not mess this up, its so easy!

Korres Lip Butter in wild rose- I am on my 3rd tub of this. Its perfect for a red lip, and can also be used as a blush. Also gives Benetint a run for there money. You want soft lips, this is what you need.

Urban decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero. I have so many of these stinking things, I will never need to buy one ever. They are the best black liners. The end. Black eyeliner is a must for me, it wakes me up and makes my brown eyes look less blah.

Maybelline Master shape Eyebrow studio. I like this pencil, I am not in love with it, I thank powder looks more natural, but this stuff is fast and looks very natural for a pencil.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in SEDUCTION

Yes, I got this a while back, and yes I was very lazy taking pictures so I am borrowing the stock photo of it. I do this a lot, don't judge me, okay judge me a little.

My boss, who is the only one who can afford Chanel, I can't, bought me this when she was in London a few weeks ago. It also comes like this:

Different shapes but same colors, you get it. Although I heard and read that the lovely people who buy Chanel in Europe get less product which is not cool, my palette came from there, but is the same amount of product in the USA, so I am not sure where exactly people are getting jipped, but it still ain't cool in my book, not cool Chanel...

Here are some swatches:

No primer used, straight from the palette people! This is a great traveling palette because you can create so many looks with it. I did my make up with it for my sister Michelle's wedding, and it lasted! But I didn't get a shot of my make up look, and every picture of me, thanks to my squinty eyes, is impossible to see the colors.. (WAHH) okay Ive picked up the pieces and collected myself. Overall, this is a good quad to start with if you haven't bought Chanel before, you have neutral and workable colors to can go from day to night. I told my boss she should have gotten herself a quad but she's happy with the make-up she has. (no fun.)

Make up wise, its been a nice few months. My boss has been traveling a good amount and she brings me back things for my extra time put in. If you guys dont know, I am a nanny for twin toddler girls, they are pretty good for the most part but there are days, like today, where I want to put a post it on the front door and runnnn away!

YUP.

But I like them so I probably wont do that, anyways, shes been traveling all over Asia, and went to India and London. So yeah I got pretty spoiled.

Chanel Altitude Travel Kit

This is a apparently a Hong Kong airport exclusive traveling palette but Ive read that it can be found at Costco, yeah I know... COSTCO. How random is that shi...

This bad boy goes with me in my purse, as you can see it contains 5 eyeshadows, the bottom one can be used as a brow filler if you have brown hair, 2 lipsticks, 2 glossimiers, one concealer, powder and blush and mascara. I dont know if this comes in various skin shades but it should because its kinda a waste if its only for one skin tone. Luckily the concealer and powder suit me, a tad too light but ....

and I'm about to lose my tan and be super pale again, so it should be fine for me. I embrace the paleness though, so it's okay. I'm going to update this post with a look, and swatches.

I am trying a product called Baby feet , its actually from Japan, and has been in America for a few years now. Ive gone back and forth on ordering it because it looked iffy, but after reading a ton of reviews I ordered it on Amazon.com. I did it last night and now I wait for the peeling process, which look really weird but fun at the same time!

Basically you put on the booties, wait one hour and then rinse off the product and after a few days your foot begins to peel!! Crazy yes, but the results are amazing. Or I hope!

I will update in a few days with any results and when the peeling is done, hopefully I will have baby soft feet ( this new yorker misses them!)

I kinda hate trends, you are almost pushed into wearing things and using things that you wouldn't have given a second glance if they weren't splashed across every page in a magazine. But because they are trendy you have this almost middle school need to want to fit in. And I am not innocent, I have given in but this is one trend that you will never ever see me wear. Ever.

Seriously, who invented these things and who do I blame? Do I blame Posh Spice? Or maybe Lady Gaga? Who by the way are the only two people in the entire world that can get away with these.

But there are people who love to follow trends and I say more power to you because YOU want to try different things and aren't affraid of falling on your ass in a pair of shoes like that, but if you are in the middle and want to dip your feet in the ocean of trendiness, may I suggest a pair like this:

Clarisonic Update! one month later!

Ive been doing the clarisonic on and off for a month now, once a day as two times were a little two wrecking for my skin.

No make up! (except mascara...that doesn't count)

And this is very brave of me, as of right now in NY it's hot as a bitch, muggy and downright gross( I hate the summer). So you can see it on my skin, as it is RED, shiny, and ummm red. I didn't even bother with foundation today, only a layer of SPF 30. Always wear SPF ladies! I am not innocent, I do forget time to time. But if you don't have time, a great BB cream will do the JOB!

I'm still kind of dealing with a purge, the weather isn't helping one bit and I'm hoping the birth control pills that my doctor prescribed me help me in the skin dept! (here's to hoping!) As you can see my forehead and my chin are the still spotty but hopefully with continued use, the Clarisonic will nip that in the bud. But I have to ask, does anyone have any good cleanser recommendations for it. I have been using a cleanser from Mary Kay, Botanical effects for combo skin and its pretty good but I am sure there is something more effective. Thoughts?

I have something to confess. I have been very lazy with my clarisonic. Ive been having an affair with cleasing wipes from Target and my clarisonic got shoved away. Bad clarisonic owner, BAD!

But this past monday, I starting using it again. My skin feels tighter, lotions get sucked up faster and I think I will have to go through the purge again. NO NOT THAT PURGE.

It's not that bad. But it sucks. Basically my skin will be detoxing and getting rid of all of the crap left in my skin. Hopefully it wont be as bad as last time. It was pretty grim, and I don't welcome it!

Expensive make-up, is it worth it?

I have been an avid reader of Temptalia.com for about a year now. I love her honesty. She gets sent loads of make-up, nail polish, and other goods. But instead of raving about a product that was sent to her, she tells it like it is.

Ive also noticed this in the past with certain products that I have purchased that well.. it was not worth the money. And well it sucks!

The two particular companies that I have noticed this is Nars and MAC. Now I love me some Nars, I have been a fan of the orgasm blush since 2004. I just think the company got cocky, because they have been releasing...dud products. And the prices aren't justified with a dud product.

The colors are gorgeous but the application ...FAIL

Mac's big bounce eyeshadows/creme concoction. I can see where they were going with this concept but really Mac, did you not see the hot mess that was going to happen?

The biggest offender of this at the moment is MAC. They are shooting new products left and right! Some good, some awful. I just can not imagine what it going through their heads when they create a product, they give it the seal of approval, and then charge an offensive price for it. I mean really?

Bobbi Brown has been releasing some bombs as well, if you take a look over at Temptalia's website, you will see that a lot of her eyeshadows haven't been living up to the price you are paying. And the over pricing of her eye liners makes me a bit perturbed. (go get the new Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner, 5$ I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it's better than the Stila Kajal eyeliner that I was using for an intense black lined eye.

Even my beloved Urban Decay has shot out a few less then par products including the new book of shadows. Please take note if you work for UD, stop re-releasing the same colors in your BOS and part 2. I currently own the same eyeshadow 3 times over. It's annoying. (I'm looking at you, Baked)

You would think that in the cosmetics world, where products coming from Wet N Wild, Elf, and N.Y.C having been producing some amazing payoff products from the range of 1$ to 5$, that they would amp up the ante and make a supurb product instead of a subpar one.

So in the end, their are products that are worth the price tag, such as foundations and powders, but when it comes to things like that bright purple eyeshadow or a glitter packed lip gloss, maybe you should shoot for the lower priced item. Now I'm not saying, you can't treat yourself but next time you are grabbing for that newest gotta have it eyeshadow in Sephora, do some walking around, perhaps look it up on your phone, see some reviews. And of course, try it on in the store(if you can). If it has been a bad few weeks and it's something you see yourself wearing it more than once, go for it. But if by the end of your visit in Sephora and you forgot about it or it looks kinda off on you and you cant Justify the purchase.. walk away ( and maybe go to the drugstore)

Benefit The Rich is Back palatte

It was my birthday on the second of the month and I turned 1000, no not a 1000, but i felt it. or feel it actually. It takes longer getting to of bed, and I've been feeling tired a lot sooner. but tell that to the four year old toddler I nanny for, because shes a ball of energy and gets up the second her mother leaves. but i digress, I've been pretty good with not buying beauty products, but its my bday! I have too! so i spied the newest offerings from benefit. The Matthew Williamson the rich is back palette and i needed it.

Even spike agrees.

The eye colors... so smooth and velvety. Rich and gorgeous! and it was only 34$

Those eyeshadows sold me on the set. I mean, look at them.. LOOK! Are you looking? Are you mesmerized?

You see that mascara, it's amazing. Everything you have read, it is true.

Rumors have started that this is thee mascara that Rarity uses. I'd believe it.

I need the waterproof version (do they have one?) because I wore it today, and decided to have a hose spray me in the face. And the results were raccoonlicious.

The lip gloss has a slight red tint, but smells amazinggggg. Like angels tears and berries. Mmmmmmm.

the only complaint about this palette is the blush could have been more pigmented, I would call it more of a highlighter. It's very shimmery and pretty but I wouldn't call it a blush. I call it glittery goodness.

Derpy loves it.

But that's about it for now, I have sleeping to do and cloraseptic to spray in my throat about 10000 times tonight, because yes folks I am sick again. Peace out and good night!

Too Faced Lip Injection ...Extreme

I am not even going to try and say that this is new to me, Ive had this product for a while now. I kind of forgot about it, and going through my make up last night, rediscovered it. I also rediscovered the 2 mins of uncomfortableness when you put it on. Yes ladies, it stings. It is not an OMG get this crap off my lips sting, but its a sting none the less. But what you want to know is, does this damn thing even work?

Yeah. Kinda. It's not Juvederm, if that is what you are expecting. Basically what it does is it kinda swells your lips up and that stinging feeling, that's the blood in your lips coming to the surface. It also contains collagen, which over time with makes lips fuller and increases moisture. I have to add that I am not wearing any lip products with this product. So if you want some kinda plumpy, pinky lips... go for it! If you want Angelina Jolie lips, make an appointment somewhere.

My all time favorite make up artist is Kevyn Aucoin. If you are into make up and even a beauty blogger and dont know who Kevyn Aucoin is...Shame! He was such an amazing talent. My sister and me would look at his books and try to copy each look. (failing my part, but I got better!) He had three books published, "The Art of Make up" (my sister owns this one, it is hard to find and expensive) "Making Faces" (my favorite!) and "Face Forward" He died 10 years ago of complications to a pituitary tumor.

The man was a magician, what he could do with makeup was pure magic! Seriously, if you do not own one of his books, get on amazon and buy at least one.

Wet N Wild Going in the Wild Palette

This palette was Htf in many states, but honestly I wasnt even looking for it when I found it! I was in Pathmark, and it was in the cosmetics aisle with a whole bunch of over priced loreal palettes. I knew it was hard to find but that isn't the reason why I bought it, it is because of that awesome minty color. And I mean 5$ for this palette, worth it. This is super pigmented (except the purple, but with primer its stunning!) Seriously, if you do see this palette, grab it! ( got the last one) it's a perfect spring into summer palette!

Last day of the semester OOTD

With this semester FINALLY over (and my friends who were visiting now gone ::sad::) I'm back to blogging! I wore this outfit on the last day of classes (a week and a half ago) while it was warm -before it got all cold and rainy, wtf?- I was super worried about my classes, especially accounting, and I got a B- in all three. Not bad!

I treated myself to a little splurge!

Since I've been super stressed out lately with school (especially accounting two..ugh) and spending so much time in tutoring and such trying to prepare for the final, I decided I deserved to treat myself a little. The first few things are from one of my fave stores, Target :)

With Memorial Day weekend coming and my friends wanting to go to Splish Splash, I realized I didn't have a bathing suit. So when I walked into Target and saw this Stars and Stripes bikini ($14.99 each piece) by Xhilaration, it was instant love (and the last one in my size!!)

Next, I had a birthday party to go to, and I wanted a dress that screams spring (most of the ones I have with me are winter dresses), and what does that more than a mint green dress with daisies on it? It's called the Xhilaration Strappy Fit and Flare dress, and was $29.99.

I needed something to go over that, and saw this open front cardigan by Mossimo Supply Co. in the color "dog bone" (off white) for $19.99. It was a perfect match for the dress :))

Finally, after pining over those Seychelles mint shoes Erika posted several weeks ago, I saw them on DSW on sale, and had Yoshi get them for me (we didn't get to do Valentine's Day this year due to an emergency.) They are GORGEOUS. A little high (I'm not used to wearing sky high heels) so these are special occasion shoes only, but I LOVE them. I wore them with the above dress and cardigan to my friend's party :)

And last but not least, of course I had to get my pony fix :))) Erika and I snagged the last two blind bag ponies. They were all opened (I guess some little kid was cheating and opening them till they found one they wanted) so we got a discount, both for a dollar (when they're usually almost $4 each!) and I got the pink one. The Questions:

1. Would you rather only ever wear eye makeup or skin makeup?

Eye make up! I need mascara and black eyeliner! Ask me in a few years and the answer will have changed. Most likely.

2. Would you rather cut off all your hair, or never cut your hair again?

Never cut my hair, I can't rock the short hair, id love too but I can't pull it off:(

3. Would you rather always wear your clothes too big, or too small?

Oh too big, i hate tight clothes! Especially pants that ride up your butt… I never understood people who wore tight pants, it's a disaster waiting to happen!

4. If you were given $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Since I have too much make up, I'm going with clothes. I can think of a few things Id love to buy..

5. Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Um this one is a no brainer, eyeliner as lipstick, why would anyone use lipstick as eyeliner. It sounds very dangerous! Plus brown eyeliner on your lips wouldn't look so bad ( I think…)

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or Biker Shorts in public?

MC hammer pants! Biker shorts should only been worn by bikers.

7. Would you rather never be able to fill in your eyebrows or only fill them in using a sharpie?

Never fill them in.. I don't want chola brows!

8. Would you rather never pluck your eyebrows, or never shave your legs?

never shave my legs! (that's what pants are for...) I can't even think about caterpillar brows! ::shudder::

15. Do you wear blush?

Day 15! Blush!

Of course I wear blush, who doesn't? It feels weird doing my make-up and not having blush on. When I was a youngin' I could get away with a pinch but now I have to actually make an effort and put blush on. My only problem is that I never get it to look blended in. My favorite blushes are:

Perfect matte pink blush, no shimmer at all. Elf really has amazing blushes!

Of course I have to add Orgasm by Nars, it's the most universal flattering shade!

A tad overpriced but it goes the distance, Poppy Convertible blush by Stila.

I also use a cream by Mark. that I believe is called Berry, but it's almost done! Its a great winter blush, keeps your skin moist..(What a weird word...Moist..eww.)

Favorite youtuber

Wow, this one is hard, I have so many beauty you tubers! But Ill start with my first favorite which is Lauren Luke. (panacea81) I LOVE HER.

I think I watched everyone of her videos, and I love her accent..ZOOM ZOOM!

then I discovered Michelle Phan, (rice bunny), Pixiwoo (Nicolette and Samatha), Kandee johnson, MissChievous, Tanya Burr and I can't forget Lisa Eldridge!

I also watch Xsparkage, MakeupbytiffanyD, and dope2111 (Promise Phan)

and the list grows every time I go on youtube!

Garnier vs. Garnier

A few months ago, I picked up the new BB cream from Garnier, it provided a good coverage but I wasnt crazy about the greasiness that my skin was doing, See I suffer from.. Combo skin. I know its not the end of the world, but it sucks. So the BB cream was amazing for my cheeks, but my T zone was a mess! Enter Skin Renew BB cream for Oily skin/Combo Skin. I ended up buying it from Target.com because it was sold out in every store I went too!

What can I say! The coverage is amazing, it's matte, and it still covers nicely on my cheeks as well, but I will use the other BB cream on my cheeks as it seems to work better on the drier areas of my face.

What bothers me is that why is the newer one is smaller in size but cost the same (actually it cost more!)

I will still use the normal skin version, but I much prefer the Combo skin/oily skin version much more. I feel like it covers more then the other version. But thats me! Tell me which one you prefer!
