It is been found that late night snacking let to increase in the weight, study done by Indian Researcher Satchidananda Panda Associate Professor. There will be rise in the obesity level when we snack during net browsing as well watch late night film, study made by Salk Institute of Biological studies in California. Panda told that there will full efficiency functioning of the liver, intestine and muscles during the day time when compared that of the night time. Each organ has a biological clock and the metabolic cycles are unique. When human or mice have different habits against the nature it will disturb the biological clock.

The study was made on mice, a group of mice made to eat for a particular period (8 hours) and the other group of mice took the food whenever they wanted (day or night). Study was made such that same amount of calories was given for both the group of mice and found that those ate in the 8 hour period were not obese compared to that of the other mice (who ate whenever they want). The team said that, the second group of mice deposited 70 % more fatty substance since it disturbed the biological clock and the same principle may apply to human beings. Panda said that, working patterns have changed and there are reasons to stay up in the night and hence try to restrict the meal timings which could help in lowering the obesity level.

Chennai Super Kings played extraordinarily to win the match against Mumbai Indians and now, ready to play with Delhi Dare Devils on 25^th May (20:00 local | 14:30 GMT). Harbhajan won the toss and elected to field. CSK lost two quick wickets initially for one run and after that it was silent hero (Badrinath (47)) knock and Mr. Cricket’s (Mek Hussy (49)) knock made Chennai to good position in the innings. After that it was blitzkrieg innings by Dhoni (51 from 20 balls) and Bravo (33 from 14 balls) made Chennai to score 187 in 20 overs. Both partnership between (Badrinath and Hussey) and (Dhoni and Bravo) was very much crucial for the innings.

Mumbai had a good opening start (4.5 overs 46 runs). Once run out of Sachin(11) happened, wickets started falling consecutively at regular intervals. Morkel bowling and Raina’s fielding as well as Dhoni (batting, keeping and captaining) contributed for win of the match. It was team performance which made them to win the match. Mumbai scored (149/9) and lost the game by 38 runs. “CSK played extremely well, like the defending champions especially Dhoni and Bravo’s knock took the match away from us “said the Mumbai Indians Captain (Harbhajan Singh).

Intelligence related to brain size says the study

It is found that size of the brain plays a vital role not only in thoughts and behavior but also in intelligence of the human species. It’s true not only in the case of humans but also other organisms. The study done by Margie Wright of Queensland Institute of Medical Research, were global studies involving more than 200 worldwide scientists, found genes affecting the brain and that may play a vital role in memory function and intelligence of the human species. The team collected the information from 21,000 people worldwide and analyzed the data about the genetic information and brain scans.

It is found that a particular gene has strong correlation with the overall brain size, while the other one has great influence on the brain hippocampus size which plays a major role involving in memory. Margie Wright said that, the gene which has an influence on the brain hippocampus size also plays its part in shrinking with age. It is found that dementia affected people often show shrinkage of the hippocampus size and hence there is a need to do further investigation whether there is any genetic linkage for dementia (dementia: A physically caused permanent or progressive decline in intellectual function that interferes with the patient’s normal social or economic activity).

Hampi express rammed with stationary goods train

Far about 170km north of the Bangalore near the Penukonda station the Hampi express met straight with the stationary goods train which had lead to 25 people killed. The first Bogie catches with the fire as a reflection of the accident and as an effect of it the proceeding bogies were derailed so as to avoid the fire.

Just outside the railway station this incident occurred and it has caused 25 to death and several others were severely injured and they are rescued by some of helping hands who arrived in the early hours in the morning of Tuesday.

Most of the passengers were asleep at the time of the accident reported to be 3.10am in Tuesday morning and the train no: 16591 which had started from Hubli and destined to Bangalore hit with the goods train. As the impact of the accident the bogie near the engine caught up in fire and so the other bogies were derailed.

At the spot thirteen victims were found burnt (dead) outside the train and other dead bodies got from inside the train and also several people suffered in pain of burnt body parts and damaged limbs. Workers came to rescue used gas torches to open the bogie. The bogie had dozens of dead bodies along with those who are injured. Many were trapped inside the compartment and then taken out.

Kolar Krishna, Penukonda Deputy Superintendent of Police received the first call regarding the accident and so he arrived in the spot within few minutes. The fire department also arrived in there. Passengers in the first bogie were engulfed in the flames caused by the fire.

The fire brought in major of the damage however sooner or later it was brought under control. The passengers who were dead or injured belong first and second bogie and so other passengers were taken to Bangalore in eight buses by railway police.

Security beefed up at Wagah border following terror threats

India and Pakistan have beefed up security at the Wagah border after an alert issued by the Pakistan security agencies, saying that Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Taliban were planning to blow up an Integrated Check Post (ICP) that was recently opened to boost bilateral trade between the two nations.

Pakistan received a letter from LeT that contained information about attacking the ICP. Pakistan had increased trade with India before resolving the Kashmir dispute. After receiving the information, the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) have placed additional forces. Fire tenders, ambulances and rescue teams have also been deployed in the area.

According to Mahboob Hussain, a spokesman for the Pakistan Rangers, trade points at Wagah were under the army’s control and security at these locations was ‘optimum’. Hussain contended there was no issue with regard to security of ongoing trade between India and Pakistan at Wagah.

The threat comes at a time when India allowed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Pakistan and was considering opening up more trading points. However, this is not the first time that Pakistan has issued such an alert. About one and half year ago a similar alert had been issued.

Actress Shilpa Shetty delivers a baby boy in Mumbai

After Aishwarya Rai and Celina Jaitley, the much famed Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty has delivered a healthy baby boy on Monday morning. As per the report, Shilpa gave birth to a baby boy at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital in suburban Khar in Mumbai. Both son and mother are doing fine.

Father of the baby, Raj Kundra took to twitter to express his happiness. Raj posted,” God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits,” He added, “A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever, DR Kiran Cohelo and all the staff at Hinduja Hospital,”

Shipa Shetty and London based business tycoon Raj Kundra had tied the knot in 2009 and this is their first baby. This is the first marriage of Shilpa Shetty while it is the second marriage of Raj Kundra. He divorced his first wife prior to marry to Shipa.

On 22^nd may the first playoff game was played between Delhi Dare devils and Kolkata Knight Riders and KKR won the game by 18 runs and they were qualified for the final for the first time in the IPL history (past 5 years). Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat and scored 162/4 in 20 overs. Good start given by the captain Gambir (32) and Mccullum (31) followed by Kallis (30), Yusuf (40) and Sukula (24). The 5^th wicket partnership was outstanding (50 runs from 23 balls) between Yusuf and Sukula. Then Delhi batted, lost consecutive wickets of the openers, later Jayawardene(40) and Ojha(28) contributed but still they were not able to win the match. The mistake made was that, though they had Ross Taylor (in form batsman), they sent him for the 6^th wicket instead they should have sent him earlier which could have fetched the victory. At last Delhi Dare devils scored 144 /8 in 20 overs and lost the game.

Now Delhi will clash between the winner of (Chennai Super Kings or Mumbai Indians which is scheduled May 23, 2012 (20:00 local | 14:30 GMT) at Bangalore). This is a knock out game between CSK and MBI, whoever wins the game will play Delhi Dare Devils on 25^th May and whoever wins that game, will enter the finals with Kolkata Knight Raiders on 27 May at Chennai.

12 years old Bihar boy cracks IIT-JEE examination

Satyam Kumar, a 12 years old boy from Bihar has cracked the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). The boy of Bakhorapur village in Bhojpur district qualified from the Mumbai zone with an all-India rank of 8,137.

His father, Sidhnath Singh is a farmer and he is proud of him. Sidhnath Singh said, “It is a matter of pride that my son is the youngest to qualify for this prestigious examination.”

Satyam said to media on Saturday, “I am happy to crack IIT-JEE but I will not join IIT this year because of my poor rank. I will attempt next year for a good rank.” He wants to develop a software company on the lines of Facebook.

Kumar’s father told that his son passed the Class 10 board examination from Modern School in Kota, Rajasthan. He was intelligent since early childhood. Due to his impressive talent, his father sent Kumar to Kota for higher education.

Mr. Singh said, “Entire village celebrated his success bursting firecrackers and consuming sweets.”

IIT-JEE results were declared on Friday morning and Arpit Aggarwal from MVN School Faridabad has topped the exam this year.

Humans may live longer because of Gene Therapy!!

According to the EMBO Molecular Medicine journal findings, experiment conducted by the Spanish scientist said that the life span of mice extended by 24 % using a single gene therapy treatment. If this experiment pays off, it will be useful for aging humans too. The Spanish team found that, when directly treating the particular gene of the mice helps in the increment of the lifespan. This therapy is never done before where telomerase enzyme was expressed by inducing cells which slows the biological clock. Previously it was found that; lengthening the average life of many species (including mammals) by giving treatment on specific gene.

The experiment was treated on Adult mice (one and two year olds) such that one lived longer by 24 % and the other 2 year old by 13%. The therapy made on the mice was found to be safe. The gene therapy is that treating the DNA-Modified virus i.e. been replaced by the telomerase (ribo nucleoprotein) which plays a key role in aging. Telomerase are nothing but the enzyme which repairs the ends of chromosomes known as (telomeres) which in turn slows down the biological clock. Without the development of the cancer it is possible to find telomerase-based gene therapy which will help in increasing the life span, said the Russian scientists led by Maria Blasco.

Sachin was refused to take oath as MP by Delhi High Court!!!

We all know that Master Blaster was selected to be a member in the Rajya Sabha. But on Wednesday Delhi High Court stopped Sachin taking oath as member, since they got a petition stating that he could not be nominated.

The petition was filed by Ram Gopal Singh Sisodia and the next hearing was postponed to July 5. This was done division bench members Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw and Acting Chief Justice AK Sikri. The petition states that, according to Article 80(3) people from literature, science, art and social services are eligible to be nominated for the Rajya Sabha. It also says that, person from sports field are not eligible for the nomination of Rajya Sabha. When considering the petition, Master blaster Sachin does not have the qualifications required for the member of Rajya Sabha. More over the Supreme Court declined petition on Monday and asked Mr Sisodia to take it to High Court.Along with Sachin, Rekha Ganeshan (Ace Tamil Actor Gemini Ganeshan’s Daughter) and industrialist Anu Aga were nominated. Anu Aga took oath on May 13^th (Sunday) and the actress Rekha took Yesterday May (15^th).

Let us see, with this given busy cricket schedule how Sachin handles the Politics.

BCCI took action, five cricketers suspended: IPL

Inquiry on five uncapped cricketers was under process and on Tuesday it had come to an end as the BCCI took immediate actions on them and they have suspended the cricketers and this action is the reaction for the video report produced as a copy of evidence and in that it was clear that they were exposed to the corruption.

IPL said that it has made its decision strong in suspending players Mohnish Mishra, Shalabh Srivastava, T.P.Sudhindra, Amit Yadav, and Abhinav Bali. The IPL governing council along with BCCI officials had a long teleconference on the suspension. In this conference they have concluded another thing also; they have decided to conduct a preliminary inquiry by Ravi Sawani.

Ravi Sawani was previously in the ICC’s anti corruption unit and however he is new appointed exclusively for BCCI’s anti corruption unit. IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla told the reporters that the governing council of IPL at 2.30 pm met at teleconference and it ordered BCCI to take strict actions against the cricketers.

They also said that the television footage is great evidence and it is enough to prove them guilty on the corruption act. It also involved several matters which had a very much close relation with the previous matches, which proved them of getting cash before match (match fixing).

The president recommended on an appointment of new commissioner after a preliminary inquiry on the match. Ravi Sawani, the chief is now the advisor to conduct the inquiry and also he is responsible to disciplinary committee about the report on the match and any corruption.

As an initial step to avoid corruption, the players have been suspended and any further actions (strict actions) will be taken only after the committee of BCCI receives the report from the Sawani. This action will however blow away all the dirty that have been deposited on the cricket.

Post the episode, the government of Rajasthan had taken several actions to eradicate the doctors who are linked with sex determination tests and abortions.

One of the senior officials of the CM office of Rajasthan told that, Aamir Khan is very eager to have meeting with the CM and also CM to get the case details of the doctors who are involved ,make them appear in the court.

In the 2011 census, for 1000 boys of age group 0-6 the state Rajasthan has 883 girls. The state has been in the news recently for female infanticide and now the government has taken steps to not to determine the sex (test) in the clinics.

Ruled out any rethinking on Vodafone tax issue: Pranab Mukherjee

On Tuesday the government ruled out the rethinking on the issues made on Vodafone. Pranab Mukherjee, the Finance Minister in the Lok Sabha said a strong message that the multinational campaign against the Vodafone tax and he clearly stated that the India should never make the tax in such a way so as attract the foreign investment.

He also emphasized that the parliament has the right to correct the judgment of the Supreme Court and to make any further amendments. He also added that the parliament will not allow the situation to avoid paying tax by operating them to the tax haven.

There never exist a situation that someone makes the profit (money) and having their assets in India and neither paying the tax to India nor to its country of their origin. This situation can be better handled by taking the guidance by the DTAA (Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement).

Mukherjee said that the assertion on proposing the amendment to tax on the Vodafone tax deals rethinking must be ruled out because it is unfair for an organization to produce profit India using the resources by not paying the tax. By the IT Act (Income Tax) proposed with budget has rights to amend with the deal and tax issue on Vodafone.

The campaign of international business and domestic industry are against the move and this would no way affect the foreign investment, Pranab confirmed. This hour long speech was the reply on the finance bill which happened to be a debate topic in Lok Sabha.

He stated this with the past history as in 2007 the acquisition of Hutchison stake in the Hutchison Essar with the British telecom major it was not liable to pay the tax, this was the judgment of the Supreme Court but however the bill was passed on later. Tax on Vodafone is like combating against black money.

Do or die game for both Dada (Pune team) and the wall Dravid (Rajasthan team) in IPL!!

Today we will be able to see the match between the two teams in the IPL i.e. Rajasthan and Pune. Already Rajasthan in 6^th position and Pune in 8^th position, both the teams are in inconsistent form, whichever team wins there will be healthy completion for the 3^rd and 4^th position. Concern for Dada is that Michael Clarkeopening is not consistent in batting line up, which makes Uthappa and Dada to take responsible in the middle order, though they are comfortable in chasing.

On the other had Dravid’s team have lost consecutive 3 games, the concern is that they are too dependent on the captain and Rahane, so other players like Watson , Hodge should show their game.

The trump card for the Ganguly is Mathews, where he can play dynamically along with the middle order and bowl, field in an excellent manner. On the other hand for Rajasthan, Tait’space bowling can cause trouble in Pune’s line up. The main key players for Rajasthan are Uthappa and Clarke who can turn the game for them. Same way for Kolkata it is Australian all-rounder Watson and the IPL century holder Rahane. Let us wait and watch (Match scheduled to begin at 16:00 local time (10:30 GMT) whether Dada or Dravid.
