It’s a sleep number bed. Instead of coils and springs, this bed has air chambers that allow you to adjust the comfort, softness / hardness of the mattress.

I’d probably adjust the settings to something comfy soft so I could just sink in and relax.

See I’ve been trying to heal my coughs naturally with some success.

But perhaps getting a really good night’s sleep (and a warm loving hug) will help too.

My old laptop’s wire recently melted (or at least that’s what it looked like) so it’s going in hibernation for awhile.

I know I should be buying it a new power cord so I can use it again. But I guess you know by now why I am writing you.

You know I’m not really the techie type and I tend to space out when we start talking about SDRAM, DDR and numbers that end with an MHZ so let me just show you what exactly I want.

Makes me feel blessed to be living in the one of the greatest creations in the universe.

I’d wish to go to Australia for a nature adventure.

Though I don’t really know how to swim, I’d really love to explore the Great Barrier Reef.

The first time I went diving, there was a certain calm and awesomeness in underwater life that I found really captivating.

I’m sure the marine life in the Reef would be infinitely greater than that.

Then I’d go deep into the rainforest via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Nothing like the sight of nature to give you some sense of calm and peace.

Then for some downtime, I’d check in a lovely hotel like Novotel Cairns Oasis.

I’ll hang out by the pool.

I’ll take a luxurious one hour bath.

And curl up for some beauty sleep in their comfy suite.

Heaven.

I want! I want!

I know it looks more like a back scratcher, but it’s actually a diffuser — something curly and wavy haired girls use to preserve their curls and waves while blowdrying.

I’m actually a blowdryer late bloomer, I’ve only recently learned to use the  blowdryer after I discovered my hair looks better because of it.

I’ve been pretty lazy with my hair for a long time. I would tie it up, bun it and scrunch it without much thought.

I had to stop doing it though when clumps of my hair began to clog the bathroom drain.

You know how your hair looks wonderfully amazing right after a good cut and blowdry?

Well, I wanted to preserve that look after I got a cut so I taught myself how to comb and dry my hair properly.

Now I don’t leave home without doing it.

I just have to wake up a wee bit earlier so I could dry my hair nicely, but that’s a small price to pay for a good hair day.

The only thing I don’t like about blowdrying is the air feels harsh sometimes, it can be quite tiring plus if you’re clumsy at it (like I am sometimes) your hair can end up frizzy.

This Devafuser sure looks like a good helping hand to my blowdrying routine.

As computers and the internet continue to progress, more and more people are gaining free access to any information they need.

But this also means the information gateway is open for spammers and hackers or what are called cyberterrorists.

With the increasing number of internet users as well as abusers, the ISS will serve as valuable gatekeepers to make sure the information systems remain secure.

Lewis University has an online MS in Information Security that can cover both the technical and managerial aspects of IS.

According to their website, the course is:

“…a highly dynamic online program that provides students with the technological and managerial tools to safeguard businesses and government agencies from the growing risks and threats to IT functionality, integrity and data privacy they face on a daily basis.”

Among the cool stuff you will learn are: Computer Forensics, Database Management and Securing Windows and Linux.

When I was done, it was surprising how I was able to pare down my beauty essentials to just a few items.

These are the three things that remained in my pouch that have become absolute favorites:

1. Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Make-up

The liquid foundation comes out white but when you blend it on your face, it transforms into a shade of brown that matches your skin. I like how it evens up my skin tone naturally. I usually apply it right after my moisturizer so it blends easier.

2. Smashbox O-Glow

It’s an “intuitive lip gloss” that comes out clear from the tube then turns a lovely shade of pink when you apply it on your cheeks. It gives that healthy flushed natural look. The color doesn’t last the whole day though so you may need to re-apply later in the day.

3. Smashbox O-Gloss

Another intuitive product from Smashbox. This one transforms from clear to luciously pink. The product description says the shade will depend on your body chemistry so you get your own unique lip gloss shade.  For me, sometimes it’s pale pink, other times it’s really intense pink, then there are rare days when it’s red. I’m not sure how that works but I do like the nice moisture it instantly gives my lips.

As you can see I’m a big fan of easy-to-apply products that takes the guesswork out of shades and matching.

With these three things, my make up routine lasts about 10 minutes tops.

Fabulously fast.

What’s in your make-up kit?

When I was a kid, I imagined the world in the year 2000 and beyond would be some kind of a utopia.

I remember back then, there were some crazy rumors that the end of the world was coming at the turn of the millenium. But I, for one, thought that the world would already be super advanced by then.

There would be flying cars and spaceships all around, steel buildings and spiraling structures that reached the clouds, and dome-shaped homes perched on towers.

Food can be made magically in a snap using super advanced machines so there’s more than enough food for everybody.

All people would be in perfect health because there’s practically a preventive vaccine and a cure for anything.

Robot and aliens co-exist with humans peacefully.

Space travel and tours to other planets would be the norm for vacations.

There would be world peace.

I guess you could say, I used to be idealist and a little bit out of this world.

Oh and I used to watch Jetsons a lot.

Fast forward to 2009.

There are no flying cars, cloud piercing steel buildings, or dome-shaped houses on towers,

World hunger is still an issue.

There’s a plethora of viruses diseases springing up every now and then, some still uncurable.

Robots remain as inventions while UFOs and aliens are still pretty much considered hoaxes.

Space travel is still reserved for astronauts and those who can afford billion dollars worth of spaceship fare.

And yup, no world peace.

It’s amazing how fast time flies, how much the world changes and how much some things still stay the same.

• Place a small potted plant in your room. This adds a touch of vitality and life to any space.
• Find a photo of a beautifl landscape, have it framed or laminated then hang it where it’s always in your line sight. It’s like having an instant window with a view.
• Change your wallpaper or paint your walls a different color. Choose a soothing light green or a calming pastel blue for maximum relaxing effect.
• If you’ve got a bit of money to spend, change old furnitures like chipped cabinets or creaky beds. Find a store that sells discount furniture so you can pick up stylish yet affordable stuff for your room.
• Try spraying some room fragrance. Soothing aromas can put you in a relaxed mood once you enter the room. Plus, there’s a certain happy feeling that you get when you have a whiff of a nice fragrance.
