iPad and iPhone Clock Solitaire 1.2 Approved

The new version 1.2 of Clock Solitaire+ has just been approved and is ready for all of you amazing people who have already bought the app to get the free update which started as a very small update to fix one interface design problem that I had overlooked when I designed the new touch a pile instead of drag and drop of the card. The problem was if your finger hit the 6 pile a bit to far down or missed the 6 pile by a bit you hit the New Game button which just started a totally new game and you lost the game you were playing! This one small fix which was done by the night that V1.1 went live turned in to 2 weeks worth of development and addition of features, new cards, new background, new user interface, game timer addition, improved statistics, and more!!

I am going to be posting all of this on ClockSolitaire.net first with only small references on this site as I begin to transition this site to a more generic blog created to feature not just Clock Solitaire but also all the new apps that we release over the coming months!

I also hope to blog about subjects that may be of a more geeky nature for other's interested in App Development! I am going to start it all with this post where I would like to thank a few people and also talk very briefly about what made possible my exciting adventure into iOS programming after nearly 4 years of wanting to write software for the iPhone with the first release of iOS 2.0 that opened the platform to 3rd party developers with the App Store. Clock Solitaire 1.2 Release Today or Monday

I have received a status update on the long awaiting update to Clock Solitaire V1.1which features new cards, new background, amazing new statistics with great animations and a game timer that is tracked on the statistics as well! Here are some screen shots from the iPad edition which will all look the same as the iPhone version. I will release a blog on http://www.clocksolitaire.net in the next little while when the exciting new V1.2 has been released and encourage everyone to get the update as it's been the most happy I've been with the game since I started programming it. It has every feature I wanted to have in at launch with the most eye pleasing cards, background, animations and statistics and gameplay improvements that you will all learn to come to expect out of every game we release!

A new YouTube video will be posted shortly of the gameplay on V1.3 to update on the existing YouTube demo of V1.1 will give you an idea of how the game is played if you don't know or have it already! Clock Solitaire+ iPhone/iPad 1.1 Approved

After what felt like an eternity but was actually a week, Apple have approved and put on sale Clock Solitaire+ on the App Store! I am very excited for this release to finally be available for everyone as it was finished at the end of December and contains all the features I had hoped to include in my first release! So in a way this to me is the first version of Clock Solitaire for the iPhone that I wanted everyone to have and that I am proud of! It has felt like forever since the first version was submitted a month ago to this version finally being online and available and is such a weird feeling since I have submitted V1.2 to Apple tonight now that V1.1 is out the door which has a totally different background, layout, and outputs and it's this version I have been working on for the past 3 weeks so it's very weird to only just now have the version that I think of as the first version on the App Store. I am excited for 1.2 to be approved next week as with the minor improvements I now feel pretty happy with my version of Clock Solitaire and feel it's as done and as good as it's going to get until I finish learning Game Center and can come back to Clock Solitaire and add Game Center integration in. For the next week while I wait for V1.2 to be approved I will work on the marketing side of Clock Solitaire+ and making sure it's submitted to all the App Review sites and that I've done everything that I can do to publicize my version of Clock Solitaire which I feel strongly that it's by far the best Clock Solitaire for the iOS platform and that everyone who loves the card game Clock Solitaire can find it and see why it's the best option and also introduce new people to the classic time killing card game that many of us always loved and grew up with.

Clock Solitaire+ Featured on iTunes

In an exciting turn of events Clock Solitaire+ iPhone/iPad have been featured on the iTunes store in the Card Games section and the Board Game section! Number 1 and Number 2 in the UK and number 4 in the US where I really needed to pickup some new downloads as I'm so far down the charts it's unreal! I am really hoping this kind of exposure helps drive some new users from around the world to see the app! In total it was featured in 244 places in iTunes which is for a full day which on a weekend has to hopefully means hundreds of thousands of free exposure so thank you very much apple for that! I guess I will forgive you now for still not approving my amazing new V1.1 update to Clock Solitaire+ iPhone/iPad before the weekend after submitting it on Monday but I now forgive you though I am still very gutted that the MUCH better version which I am really proud of wasn't the version to be featured around the world and instead the first version that I rushed out the door before Christmas not fully happy with has now been globally featured about a day to early! Oh well fingers crossed this helps to give Clock Solitaire+ the global launch and the leg up in the US that it needs to start being noticed by people who don't know the game or haven't played it in years!

Clock Solitaire On App Store

After a very long wait for approval my first app Clock Solitaire has finally gone past the "Waiting For Review" stage and is live on the Apple App Store! I first submitted the app on December 22nd but with the iTunes Connect shutdown over the holidays, and all the public holidays it has taken what seems like forever for the app to go live! I can't wait for everyone to download and play it and already have the next version 1.1 submitted to Apple for approval. This version see's a massive improvement of the Statistics screen as well as the ability to simply click on the pile which you want to play the current card which allows for rapid game play! I am already coding the next update which will bring Game Center integration for leader boards and achievements and hope to have this finished before the end of the month!

Clock Solitaire Update V1.1 Awaiting!

As I eagerly await Apple to approve Version 1.0 of Clock Solitaire, I already have Version 1.1 finished and ready to submit as soon as the first version is approved! This excitingly fast update comes bringing in amazing new game statistics including capturing your last played screen for all games, improved card touch and drop touch areas so that you don't have to worry about dropping the card exactly in the right spot! And for all of you advanced players hoping to breeze through games at lightening speed you no longer have to drag the cards onto the new pile, you can simply wizz through the app by clicking on the hour pile that the new turned over card belongs in. This increases game speed immensely while still giving the full fun animated experiences of dragging the cards manually. There were also a few bugs that slipped past in Version 1.0 which I hope to have solved! Now it's just a waiting game to see it appear live in the App Store! I don't know if I'm more excited for New Years Eve, or for everyone to be able to get their hands on the coolest new clock solitaire around and the first of many great new updates and apps to come! PS: And just as I was losing all hope of winning a single game and dreading the idea that a new bug had been found a new tester managed to not just win, but win 3 times in a row and see it in the amazing new stats screen! This will soon be integrated with Game Centre and earn badges and bragging rights for such a lucky streak in the update to follow soon!
