Cooking is the judicious application of heat to foods in order to create new and interesting flavors, textures and experiences. Usually that involves open flames, or at least glowing hot heating elements capable of setting your dorm or cubicle on fire. For those of you who missed orientation: no smoking, no pets, and don't set the place on fire! But what is one to do when you've just got to have a big plate of spaghetti, or a perfectly seared steak? You could try and use your microwave oven, but that won't work. Why? Lemme school ya. See, microwaves excite bipole molecules (positive on one end and negative at the other) into rotating by alternating polarity radiation. The bipoles try and keep aligned with the field and, by rotating, heat up. Voila! Hot food. The drawback is that only works really well with squishy food. What are you going to do for that steak? It needs a good crust that can only come from direct heat. Well, we can take the same principle and apply it to cooking pans. Yes, microwaves excite metal, but trust us when we say that's a bad idea. Just don't do it. Instead, place your pan on this Induction Cooktop which uses magnetic fields instead of microwaves.
