I've only recently discovered the work of Nagi Noda and I feel like I have been seriously missing out on it all these years. Her bio lists a huge breadth of work in all kinds of mediums and collaborations with everyone from Nike to the White Stripes. She's also recently started a clothing label with artist Mark Ryden and who knows what may come of the combination of those two creative minds.

My favourite stuff though is the hair hats

But you have most likely seen some of her work for Nike

And this series that is such a simple idea but is so well executed

I think most of the appeal for me is in the approach. The ideas are all really simple, but then they are taken to the edge of reason and produced with such precision that you start to look at it like it's a regular occurence. This japanese music video is one of my favourites

Undr Crwn have just delivered some new gears and it's taken me right back to my youth. Growing up I always wanted to be down with the boys, I remember going to the corner store to get a new pack of starter cards with my bro and my dad on saturday mornings. So being in Windsor, Michigan was the closest thing we had to a home team and 1992, 1993 was a great time to be a fan because of these guys.

They only played together for a short time, and there was so much controversy about taking payments and what not, but seriously where would the game be without them. Even down to the fashion of the game, these kids were the first to get out there in baggy shorts. And Undr Crwn is bringing it all back with this tee.
And for all the Kentucky Wildcats fans out there, don't mean to open fresh wounds, but you will all remember the final 2.1 sec of this game

Nothing like getting stuff in the mail. I got to the shop this morning and had this waiting for me.

And inside these packages, probably the most diverse range of things I could receive in one day. First up is a pair of roller skates, for next week. Gonna be so much fun, we're having some wholesome birthday fun.

Next is probably my favourite from this trio. A surprise package from the multi talented Luke Perillo. He's working on some stuff for an in store thing later this year and he sent through his first sample.

And finally is a package from Via Alley, their new publishing arm VA Editions has produced this little beauty. A colouring book for kids with images supplied by some of the best and brightest talents working today, including beci orpin, mike giant and perks and mini. Try staying in these lines....

Don't you love when you rediscover an old favourite? Liberation from Outkast's Aquemini album was on high rotation for me way back when. Before the luxury of Ipod's I was rockin' it on my discman with those badass dual shock headphones that vibrate along to the bass.

anyway, our staple delivery arrived and with one of the prints, managed to bring out the ocd in me all over again. The print below is the lyrics from Big Rube's guest spot on the song, so simple, speaks volumes.

So i was perusing a few design blogs when i came across this, I'm usually a lil skeptical when it comes to "free" Programs on the net but this is actually legit. The best bit is you don't have to download anything you don't actually want.

It's hasn't fully launched yet so i would suggest you get on to this now so you can than be like "oh fontstruct yeah I've been down with that for years" cause you know it's all about the bragging writes.

Just wanted to show you the finished product from Buff Diss. Was seriously the best couple of afternoons we had in here in a long time, was amazing to watch him work. One of the guys in the studio picked up a sports illustrated from 1992 a few months back and we finally got the scanner working so I can share some of it with you. It's pretty funny to look back at a magazine that's about 15 years old now and see what kind of insights they had.

This is a little table they made called grading the future legends. highlights are when they say of andre agassi and evander holyfield that they lack performance and marketability, if they only knew...
The mag also has some crazy ads, there is one ad for hulk hogan's deoderant, and the rest are all booze, cigarettes and condoms. 1992 was loose.

Closing event is a forum on the nature of styling. March 9 2 pm.

We've always found that the best things happen when you least expect them. How many times (in Melbourne particularly) have you been innocently chatting with someone about a project, and lo and behold they have some sort of uncanny connection. Our forum is designed to draw groups of people from varied fields, with the common interest of fashion, together and see what comes of it. Loic Prigent is the french director behind two of the best fashion documentaries I've seen in a long time. I've never been that into Marc Jacobs as a designer or Louis Vuitton as a brand, but the documentary is a really interesting look at the process it takes to produce both brands. Even if you don't like it, you can't argue with the reach both of these brands have. Loic's documentary is great because he is seems slightly removed from fashion and can a offer a new perspective.

The video is Loic's other fashion mini series that takes a look at what it takes to produce a haute couture chanel collection. The whole thing is up on you tube and this is the perfect kind of weather to sit back and watch it. These ladies are the real deal, good watching even if chanel isn't your thing.

Theo Jansen is a genius.
For the past 10 years he has been creating new nature, with plastic of all things. His creatures are called strandbeests and he envisions them roaming the beach in herds, surviving on their own. It's people like him that I find really fascinating, he's spent a good portion of his life on these things that have no real discernible purpose, surely the principles can be applied to lots of other mediums, but that is not his goal.
