Silver medal at the Wanderlust World Guides Award

Congratulations to Wi for winning the silver award at the 2016 Wanderlust World Guides Award!!! Not bad out of 2,500 competitors and certainly a well deserved acknowledgement after years of dedicated Southeast Asia tour guiding. Wi perfectly encapsulates our ethos; producing tours that are fun, informative, well-organised and with attention to detail yet leaving plenty of room for spontaneity, improvisation and those unscheduled extras that really make the trips. FYI there’s availability on the following upcoming tours lead by Wi; Images of Thailand, photography special in conjunction with Gary Latham on 7th December and our classic 2 week Burma tour, ‘Quite unlike any land you know about’ beginning in Rangoon on 14th Jan.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Street Photography

A few photos from a recent street photography tour of Phnom Penh lead by Jeff, (Jean Francois) Perigois. Jeff is a long term resident of Cambodia’s capital so can lead you down a few back alleys you’d certainly never find – or dare to go down – yourselves and his great rapport with locals provides obvious advantages for street, market and people photography.

Proved to be a fascinating, and fun, day out in the hectic and bustling city and clearly seems to have amused a few local residents too! Thanks to Albert, Jude, Goretti, Andrew and Keith for ‘starring’ in the pics and glad you enjoyed the day!

Earthquake in Burma, (Myanmar)

An earthquake measuring 6.8 struck Burma on 24th August with the epicenter being located close to the historic site of Bagan. Fortunately, despite widespread minor damage, no major destruction seems to have occurred and luckily casualties are also at a minimum. Note that Bagan is regularly affected by quakes and the various chedi summits and spires have been replaced several times before over the centuries.

In the finals at the Wanderlust World Guides Award!

Flying to Rangoon has now become easier

Flying to Rangoon, (Yangon), is set to become a lot simpler from August 2016 onwards with Emirates offering direct services from Dubai to Myanmar’s principal city. This means flights from London, plus several regional UK airports such as Manchester and Birmingham, no longer require a change in Bangkok. Connection times at Dubai are short so if you like the look of one of our Burma/Myanmar tours – things have just got much easier!
