Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, made a name for himself as a vocal conservative activist, speaker, and influencer. Over the years, he channeled his passion for politics, culture, and faith into writing, producing books that tackle everything from economic policy to spiritual practices. Kirk’s works often stemmed from his experiences rallying young people, challenging mainstream institutions, and promoting traditional values.

Let’s take a close look at his six books, offering an in-depth synopsis of each, along with details on when and by whom they were published, his motivations for writing them, and any notable quotes from Kirk himself. These books reflected his evolving perspectives, from early calls for limited government to more recent reflections on personal rest and renewal.

Published in 2016 by Post Hill Press, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, this book marked Kirk’s debut as an author. Co-written with Brent Hamachek, it serves as a blueprint for steering America back toward principles of free markets, small government, and individual liberty. The synopsis delves into the challenges facing the nation, such as growing government overreach, economic stagnation, and a disconnect between politicians and everyday people.

Kirk outlines a roadmap for conservatives, emphasizing the need to engage younger generations in rebuilding a prosperous, freedom-oriented society. He critiques big-government policies and advocates for fiscal responsibility, deregulation, and empowering local communities over federal bureaucracies. The book draws on historical examples, like the legacy of Ronald Reagan, to argue that America can reverse its course if it recommits to foundational ideas.

Kirk wrote this book to inspire a generational shift, drawing from his own decision to dedicate his life to conservative causes at a young age. He saw it as a way to provide a vision for the future and mobilize youth toward free-market solutions.

His reason was rooted in a desire to “restore, perhaps finish building, the America that Ronald Reagan so loved.”

“I am writing this book as a young man who quite deliberately has chosen to commit my still early life to fighting to restore, perhaps finish building, the America that Ronald Reagan so loved and fought for every day of his public life.” ~ Charlie Kirk

Released in 2018 by Post Hill Press, with a foreword by Donald Trump Jr., this book examines the ideological struggles on American college campuses. The in-depth synopsis portrays universities as arenas where liberal ideas dominate, stifling conservative voices through censorship, bias in academia, and cultural pressures.

Kirk details real-world examples of conservative students facing hostility, from shout-downs at events to biased grading. He argues that this “battlefield” isn’t just about free speech—it’s about the future of the country, as campuses shape the next generation of leaders. The book provides practical strategies for conservatives to fight back, including organizing events, building networks, and using social media to amplify their message. He aimed to expose this dominance and equip conservatives with a “battle plan” to reclaim campuses.

As he noted, the book seeks to “examine how the Left has pulled…off” their takeover and “provide a battle plan for taking back our campuses.”

One quote highlights his view on conservative resilience: “Conservatives don’t live in a liberal fantasy world where they are taken care of by cadres of compassionate folks who feel their hurt.”

Another shows his determination: “I wasn’t going to cave in.”

The name Bethlehem, deriving from the Hebrew “Beit Lehem” or “house of bread,” evokes images of a humble Judean town nestled in the hills south of Jerusalem, forever etched in collective memory as the birthplace of King David and, according to Christian tradition, Jesus of Nazareth. Yet, as a historian delving into the ancient Near Eastern landscapes and biblical texts, I find that this seemingly singular place harbors a more complex story. In the Hebrew Bible, the term Bethlehem appears not as a unique identifier but as a toponym that could apply to multiple settlements, reflecting the agrarian and tribal nature of ancient Israelite society.

Grain production was central to survival in the region, so “house of bread” might well have been a fitting name for several fertile locales. The question of how many Bethlehems existed in ancient times—and whether they overlapped chronologically—has intrigued scholars for centuries, drawing on archaeological evidence, textual analysis, and historical geography. While the biblical canon explicitly names two such towns, a closer examination reveals scholarly debates over a possible third, rooted in tribal boundaries and narrative redactions.

Let us begin with the most prominent: Bethlehem of Judah, often distinguished as Bethlehem Ephrathah to avoid confusion. This settlement, located about six miles south of Jerusalem in the hill country allotted to the tribe of Judah, features prominently across the biblical narrative. Its earliest mention comes in Genesis 35:19, where it is linked to the death of Rachel during the birth of Benjamin: “So Rachel died, and she was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).” Here, Ephrath appears as an older name or clan designation associated with the area, emphasizing its Canaanite roots. Archaeological surveys, including those from the Late Bronze Age, confirm occupation as early as the 14th century BCE, as noted in the Amarna Letters, where it is referenced as Bit-Lahmi, a Canaanite city-state.

By the Iron Age, it gained royal significance as the ancestral home of David, the shepherd boy anointed king (1 Samuel 16-17). The prophet Micah later foretold a ruler emerging from this “Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah” (Micah 5:2), a verse that New Testament writers applied to Jesus’ nativity. Excavations at the site, now the modern city of Bethlehem, reveal continuous habitation through the Persian, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, with fortifications and water systems underscoring its strategic position along trade routes. This Bethlehem endured as a symbol of Judean identity, surviving conquests by Assyrians, Babylonians, and Romans alike.

In contrast, the second Bethlehem lies far to the north, in the fertile plains of Galilee, within the tribal inheritance of Zebulun. Mentioned in Joshua 19:15 as one of the cities apportioned during the conquest, it is described amid a list including Kattath, Nahalal, and Shimron—towns in the Jezreel Valley region. This northern Bethlehem, sometimes called Bethlehem of Galilee to differentiate it, appears again in Judges 12:8-10 as the home of Ibzan, one of Israel’s judges.

Unlike its southern counterpart, this site lacked the grand historical drama of kings and messiahs, serving instead as a modest agricultural hub. Archaeological remains near modern Beit Lahm, about seven miles northwest of Nazareth, indicate settlement from the Iron Age onward, with pottery shards and structures suggesting prosperity during the monarchic period.

Both Bethlehems coexisted for much of ancient Israelite history, from at least the 12th century BCE through the first century CE. The southern one thrived under Judean control, while the northern fell within the orbit of the kingdom of Israel after the monarchy’s split in the 10th century BCE. Their simultaneous existence is uncontroversial among historians, as biblical authors often qualified the Judean one with “of Judah” or “Ephrathah” precisely to distinguish it, as in Ruth 1:1-2 or 1 Samuel 17:12.

The intrigue deepens, however, when we consider scholarly proposals for a third Bethlehem, potentially situated in the tribal territory of Benjamin. This theory emerges from apparent discrepancies in the biblical text concerning Rachel’s burial and tribal affiliations. In Genesis 35:16-19, Rachel dies en route from Bethel to Ephrath, identified parenthetically as Bethlehem, during Benjamin’s birth. Yet, 1 Samuel 10:2 places her tomb “in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah,” suggesting a location north of Jerusalem, near the Benjamin-Judah border.

Further, post-exilic lists in Ezra 2:21 and Nehemiah 7:26 group “the men of Bethlehem” with Benjaminite towns like Anathoth and Netophah, implying a distinct settlement. Some historians posit that this reflects an early tradition of a Benjaminite Bethlehem, perhaps near modern Ramallah or associated with the original Ephrath in Benjaminite lands, before later Judean editors relocated it southward to bolster Davidic claims.

Yitzhak Lee-Sak, Research Professor of Institute of Christianity and Korean Culture at Yonsei University, argues in his analysis of Genesis 35 that verse 19b—”that is, Ephrath”—represents a mid-Persian period insertion, strategically linking Benjamin’s birth to the Judean Bethlehem to align tribal identities amid resettlement in Yehud. As Lee-Sak notes, “Verse 35,19b is a later insertion, linking Benjamin’s birth to Bethlehem during the mid-Persian period.”

This redaction, he suggests, reflects archaeological realities: Benjamin flourished under Babylonian rule while Jerusalem languished, with sites like Ramat Rachel showing vibrant occupation in the sixth century BCE. Referenced scholar Oded Lipschits supports this, highlighting Benjamin’s continuity post-exile, where settlements persisted without the devastation seen in Judah proper.

If this third Bethlehem existed, it likely overlapped chronologically with the others during the Iron Age through Persian times, serving as a border town amid tribal flux.

Not all experts concur; many view these textual tensions as harmonizable within two Bethlehems, attributing the Benjamin associations to fluid boundaries or symbolic geography. Yet, the debate underscores the Bible’s layered composition, where place names evolved with political and theological agendas.

In conclusion, ancient sources firmly attest to two Bethlehems coexisting across centuries: the iconic Judean one and its Galilean counterpart. The notion of a third in Benjamin remains speculative, a minority view grounded in textual criticism rather than direct archaeology. As historians, we must navigate these ambiguities, recognizing that ancient toponyms like Bethlehem reveal not just geography but the dynamic interplay of memory, identity, and power in Israelite history. Whether two or three, these “houses of bread” nourished far more than grain—they fed the narratives that shaped Western civilization.

David did this constantly in the Psalms:
“I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble.” (Psalm 142:2)

Take five quiet minutes. Speak or write exactly what is weighing on you: “Lord, I’m terrified about the doctor’s report.” “Father, I don’t know how we’re going to pay rent this month.” Naming it moves the burden from your heart to His presence.2. I refuse to keep carrying what You have promised to carry. I trust You to work in ways I cannot see. Thank You that You are already at work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

You may need to pray this prayer ten times a day at first. That’s normal. Each repetition is an act of casting.4. Replace Worry with Thanksgiving and Truth

Paul gives the practical follow-up:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

After you hand the care over, thank God for three things He has already done. Then speak a promise from Scripture that applies to your situation. Worry and thanksgiving cannot occupy the same space.5. Refuse to Take the Care Back

The moment the same fear creeps in again (and it will), gently say: “No, I already gave that to the Lord.” Picture yourself physically throwing the worry like a fishing line back to Him. Over time the habit of carrying it weakens.6. Walk in Daily Dependence

Surrender is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle. Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us today our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11)—not next year’s bread, today’s. Bring today’s cares today. Tomorrow will have enough of its own.

When we truly cast our cares on God, something supernatural happens: His peace stands guard over our hearts like a soldier (Philippians 4:7). The situation may not change overnight, but you will. You will sleep better, love better, and carry a lightness that the world cannot explain.

He cares for you—personally, deeply, perfectly. The cross proves it. The empty tomb guarantees He has power to handle whatever you give Him. So roll it over. Let Him carry it. He is strong enough.

Jack is 58, a maintenance supervisor at the local power plant, and he’s been paying into Social Security since he was 19. His latest statement says that if he waits until 67—his full retirement age—he’ll get $2,800 a month for the rest of his life. Jack opened the envelope, stared at the number, and muttered to himself:

“I’ve been giving them money for 39 years. Now they’re telling me I can start at 62… but the check will be smaller forever. What in the world am I supposed to do with that?”

Like millions of Americans, Jack has three big choices when it comes to Social Security:

Start at 62 and get $1,960 a month (30% reduction).

Wait until 67 and get the full $2,800.

Hold off until 70 and collect $3,472 a month (24% bonus).

To figure out what’s best, Jack grabbed a yellow legal pad and started doing the only thing that ever settles the argument: he followed the money.

Doctors and hospitals are increasingly making life and death decisions without Informed Consent, and even against expressed wishes of parents.

Anyone of us could end up in a vulnerable situation and be at the mercy of a stranger. An attending physician you met for the first time in a hospital might conclude your life, or life of your child, isn’t worth saving. The question is no longer, “Can we save this patient?” A rapidly trending philosophy amongst those in medicine, is “Yes, we can save the patient, but should we?”

The answer was no for our son, Simon, unbeknownst to us, and despite us making our wishes known that we wanted everything medically done to save our son in 2010.

“We are not here to expedite the demise of our son! Treat him the way you would any other child.” My husband, Scott forcefully, and yet pleaded with doctors to treat our son, Simon. But they had their own countdown for Simon and secretly placed a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR)order in his chart without our consent and gave him medication to suppress his breathing. They also fed him very little, essentially starving him to death. I am so thankful for the compassionate nurse who strongly encouraged us to examine our son’s medical records. No parent should have to fight for their child. That is when we discovered the secret DNR. But we have learned we are not alone.

Sadly, this trend continues to grow. Earlier this year, Baby Wren’s life was on countdown in a Texas hospital. Baby Wren was on a ventilator, and the hospital was counting the days to take her off the ventilator. Hoping to expedite her demise. Texas newborn, baby Wren, was one of the most recent victims of the Texas 25-Day Rule. Under the Texas Law a hospital ethics committee, may decide to withdraw treatment for any reason. A North Texas hospital was ready to cut her precious life short by removing her ventilator, despite her family’s objections.

Tinslee Lewis was another Texas baby whose denial of medical care due to a rare heart condition gained a lot of attention in 2020. Over a year battling the hospital, Tinslee made it home, and still alive five years later. This is proof that the hospital futility policy is a danger to those patients who would otherwise survive if it weren’t for the denial of care. Baby Wren was not so fortunate and did pass away before the 25 days were concluded.

Some speculate she may have been slow-coded. A slow code involves initiating some resuscitative measures but carrying them out slowly or omitting the most aggressive, Interventions in a slow code are limited in number, duration, intensity, or all three. Texas will tell you straight up, the countdown begins. No secret withholding of care. They just do it!

“The term ‘Pro-Life’ goes beyond protecting life in the womb; it also means protecting life until natural death,” said President of Texas Right to Life, Dr. John Seago. “The 25-Day Rule hastens a patient’s death by allowing the removal of life-sustaining treatment, treatment that is needed and working, against the wishes of patients or their families.”

Simon’s case is not isolated to the United States. Sadly, in 2017, Charlie Gard a baby in the UK, was also on the countdown. Ultimately, this hospital expedited Charlie’s demise. Since my son Simon’s death, it has been my mission to make sure life-sustaining treatment is not withheld from minor children without a parents’ consent. Simon’s Law, named after my son, Simon Crosier, says NO it should not be legal to place a DNR in a minor child’s chart without a parent’s knowledge or permission. It’s about informed consent!

Who Decides Your Death Date? That Of Your Child?

Do you as a parent want to make life and death decisions for your child? Or do you want a stranger, which most likely is the doctor you just met in the ICU making the decision that it’s time for your child to go?

Currently, we have 12 Simon-safe states and continue to raise awareness in other states. That is not enough! Those with intellectual disability are particularly at risk for this kind of discrimination. If all children in all states are not protected, then all are at risk!

Will you help us fight for the precious gift of life?

Please do remember our mission in your prayers.

Want to help? DONATE today

Charlie Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), has long been a guiding voice for young conservatives navigating a rapidly changing world. Through his organization, which empowers students to promote free markets, limited government, and individual liberty on college campuses, Kirk emphasized the power of ideas to shape society. His recommended reading list, a curated selection of timeless works spanning theology, philosophy, history, and dystopian fiction, reflected this mission and that powerful mission will likely continue under the leadership of his wife, Erika.

Drawn from discussions on The Charlie Kirk Show and shared across platforms like Goodreads and YouTube, the list is a roadmap for understanding the threats to Western civilization and the virtues that sustain it. As Kirk often noted, these books arm readers against cultural decay, ideological overreach, and moral relativism.

In an era of fleeting social media debates, Kirk’s selections encouraged deep reflection. They challenge readers to grapple with faith, reason, human nature, and the fragility of freedom. Whether exploring the Bible’s role in shaping the West or warning against totalitarian temptations in Orwell’s 1984, these texts underscore Kirk’s belief that conservatism is not mere nostalgia—it’s a deliberate defense of enduring truths.

Below, we delve into each book from Charlie Kirk’s reading list and its relevance to his worldview.

Charlie Kirk book recommendations begin with works that ground conservatism in Judeo-Christian principles, arguing that without faith, societies crumble. This was one of Kirk’s core principles.

The Holy Bible (ESV Study Bible, Hardcover)
The ESV Study Bible, crafted by 95 leading scholars from diverse denominations, offers extensive notes, maps, illustrations, and articles to deepen engagement with Scripture. It emphasizes evangelical orthodoxy and the Reformation’s historic stream, making it an invaluable tool for understanding God’s Word. For Kirk, the Bible isn’t just history—it’s the soul of Western civilization, fostering moral clarity amid moral chaos.

Meditations: A New Translation by Marcus Aurelius, translated by Gregory Hays
This spiritual exercise from Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius offers timeless wisdom on living virtuously amid adversity, emphasizing self-discipline, justice, and acceptance of fate. Hays’s modern translation captures its intimate, reflective style, making it accessible for contemporary readers. Kirk values its Stoic insights as a counter to modern entitlement, promoting personal responsibility over victimhood.

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl recounts his concentration camp experiences, arguing that finding purpose amid suffering enables resilience. Part memoir, part introduction to logotherapy, it posits meaning as life’s primary drive. Kirk highlights it as proof that faith and will triumph over despair, echoing conservative resilience against cultural pessimism.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
Adapted from WWII radio talks, Lewis defends Christian basics using reason, from moral law’s existence to Christ’s divinity. He explores ethics, virtues, and God’s nature in plain language. For Kirk, it’s essential apologetics, dismantling secularism and affirming Christianity’s rational foundation.

The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis
Lewis critiques modern education’s rejection of objective values, warning it produces “men without chests”—emotionally stunted individuals. He defends the Tao, a universal moral order, against subjectivism. Kirk sees it as a prophetic alarm against relativism eroding societal bonds.

That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis
The Space Trilogy’s finale pits a demonic scientific institute against a Christian remnant, blending sci-fi with Arthurian myth to critique technocracy. Kirk recommends it for exposing progressive elites’ hubris, mirroring today’s cultural battles.

The Book That Made Your World: How the Bible Created the Soul of Western Civilization by Vishal Mangalwadi
Indian philosopher Mangalwadi traces the Bible’s influence on science, freedom, and justice, arguing it birthed Western progress. Kirk praises it for debunking secular myths, affirming Scripture’s civilizational role.

8-9. MacArthur New Testament Commentary: John 1-11 (Volume 1) and John 12-21 (Volume 2) by John MacArthur
These verse-by-verse expositions unpack John’s Gospel, emphasizing Christ’s deity and salvation.
A Doctor, a Soldier, a Poet

In the spring of 1915, in the muddy, scarred fields of Flanders, a Canadian doctor named John McCrae sat down and poured his grief into words that would echo across generations. Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae wasn’t just a soldier or a physician; he was a man who carried the weight of war in his heart. Born in 1872 in Guelph, Ontario, McCrae grew up with a love for learning, medicine, and poetry. He was the kind of person who could stitch a wound, fire a rifle, and write verses that made you pause and feel something deep. His life, though cut short, left a mark on the world through his poem In Flanders Fields, a haunting call to remember the fallen.

McCrae’s story begins in a small Canadian town, where he trained as a doctor and served as a soldier in the Second Boer War. By the time World War I broke out, he was in his early 40s, a seasoned physician who signed up to serve with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He wasn’t just there to fight; he was there to save lives, tending to wounded soldiers in makeshift hospitals near the front lines. The Second Battle of Ypres, fought in the spring of 1915, would test his strength and change him forever.

The Loss That Shaped a Poem

Ypres, a Belgian town surrounded by flat, fertile fields, was a hellscape in 1915. The German army unleashed chlorine gas for the first time, choking soldiers and leaving thousands dead or wounded. McCrae worked tirelessly in a field hospital, bandaging wounds, comforting the dying, and witnessing the relentless toll of war. Amid this chaos, he lost someone dear to him—Lieutenant Alexis Helmer, a young officer and friend. On May 2, 1915, Helmer was killed by an artillery shell, his body torn apart in an instant.

The loss hit McCrae hard. With no chaplain available, he took it upon himself to bury his friend in a makeshift cemetery, reading the service under the shadow of war. The next day, May 3, something stirred in him. Sitting in or near an ambulance wagon, he looked out at the fields, pockmarked with shell craters and dotted with simple wooden crosses. Bright red poppies, stubborn and vivid, bloomed in the churned-up soil, a stark contrast to the death all around. In that moment, McCrae picked up a pencil and scribbled words that came straight from his soul.

Writing In Flanders Fields

The poem came together quickly, in about 20 minutes, as if the words were waiting to spill out. In Flanders Fields captures the sorrow of the battlefield, the fleeting beauty of life, and a plea to keep fighting for those who could no longer fight. The poppies, growing over graves, became a symbol of blood and sacrifice. The larks, singing above the roar of guns, spoke to a hope that refused to die. And the voices of the dead, urging the living to “take up our quarrel with the foe,” carried a weight that still resonates today.

McCrae wasn’t sure about the poem at first. He crumpled it up and tossed it aside, thinking it too personal, too raw. But a fellow officer saw it, rescued it, and urged him to share it. Eventually, it found its way to Punch magazine in London, where it was published on December 8, 1915. Readers were moved by its simplicity and power. It wasn’t just poetry; it was a cry from the heart of war, a reminder of what was lost and what was worth fighting for.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

These words, simple yet profound, struck a chord. They were printed in newspapers, recited at rallies, and used to inspire soldiers and civilians alike. The poem became a rallying cry, a way to honor the dead by carrying on their fight.

A Symbol Born in the Fields

The red poppy, so vivid in McCrae’s poem, became more than a flower—it became a symbol of remembrance. In 1918, an American teacher named Moina Michael read the poem and vowed to wear a poppy to honor the fallen. She started selling silk poppies to raise money for veterans, an idea that spread across the world. A French woman, Anna Guérin, took it further, organizing poppy sales in Europe and North America. By the 1920s, wearing a poppy on Remembrance Day or Memorial Day was a tradition, a quiet way to say, “We haven’t forgotten.”

Today, those poppies are everywhere in November, pinned to coats and jackets, a reminder of McCrae’s words and the sacrifices they honor. The poem’s legacy isn’t just in its words but in the way it shaped how we remember war’s cost.

McCrae’s Final Days

McCrae didn’t live to see the full impact of his poem. He kept working as a doctor, moving from one military hospital to another, until early 1918. Exhausted and worn down by the war, he caught pneumonia, which developed into meningitis. On January 28, 1918, he died in a hospital in Boulogne, France, at the age of 45. His fellow soldiers buried him with full military honors in Wimereux Cemetery, not far from the fields that inspired his poem. Even in death, he was close to the poppies and the men he’d served.

Why It Still Matters

John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields is more than a poem; it’s a bridge between the past and the present. It reminds us of the human cost of war—not just in numbers, but in friendships lost, in moments of beauty amidst horror, in the quiet courage of those who served. Every Memorial Day weekend, when we pin a poppy to our lapel or pause for a moment of silence, we’re carrying the torch McCrae wrote about. We’re keeping faith with those who lie in Flanders fields.

The poem’s power lies in its honesty. It doesn’t glorify war; it mourns it while urging us to remember. McCrae, a doctor who saw the worst of humanity’s conflicts, gave us a way to process that grief and turn it into something meaningful. His words, written in a fleeting moment of pain, have outlived him, touching hearts and inspiring acts of remembrance a century later.

A Call to Remember

If you’ve ever worn a poppy or stood silent at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day, you’ve felt the echo of John McCrae’s words. His poem, born from a single loss in a war that claimed millions, still speaks to us. It asks us to look at the fields—whether in Flanders or in our own lives—and to hold the torch high. It’s a call to remember not just the soldiers, but the humanity they fought for, the love they carried, and the hope they left behind.

Next time you see a poppy, think of McCrae, sitting in that ambulance wagon, his heart heavy with loss but his spirit refusing to break. Think of the larks, still singing, and the crosses, row on row. And think of how a few words, scribbled in grief, can change the world.

The Board of Directors of Simon’s Law, a nationwide network of families, guardians, and professionals dedicated to creating national awareness and protection for medically endangered pediatric dependents with life-threatening diagnosis through education, accountability, parental rights legislation, and Patients’ Bill of Rights, calls on all citizens to petition their congressmen to support The Simon Crosier Act.

HR-6344 (The Simon Crosier Act) proposes to amend titles XVII and XIX of the Social Security Act to require providers of services and health maintenance organizations under the Medicare and Medicaid programs to provide for certain policies to be in place relating to do-not-resuscitate orders or similar physician’s orders for unemancipated minors receiving services.

The Simon Crosier Act (HR-6344) is currently waiting for the House Committee On Energy and Commerce to mark it up. Please take a moment to reach out to committee members, especially Chairwoman Rodgers (R-Washington) at (202) 225-2006, with the following message:

“My name is your name, I am the parent of a child with a life-limiting diagnosis, who is at risk of having resuscitative measures withheld without my consent, with every hospitalization in your state. Therefore, I urge you to mark up HR-6344 (The Simon Crosier Act), so that it has the opportunity to move beyond the House Committee On Energy and Commerce to protect my parental right to be included in DNR determinations for my child.“

Collaboratively, Project Gutenberg, Microsoft, and MIT have joined forces to produce an extensive collection of free and accessible audiobooks through innovative neural text-to-speech technology and Project Gutenberg’s vast repository of open-access e-books. Many of the books translated into audio are classics such as Shakespeare’s Taming Of The Shrew.

“In particular, we leverage recent advances in neural text-to-speech to create and release thousands of human-quality, open-license audiobooks from the Project Gutenberg e-book collection,” a team of people from Project Gutenberg and Microsoft said in a paper about the project.

“Our method can identify the proper subset of e-book content to read for a wide collection of diversely structured books and can operate on hundreds of books in parallel. This work contributed over five thousand open-license audiobooks and an interactive demo that allows users to quickly create their own customized audiobooks.”

The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the accessibility of literature for enthusiasts of audiobooks globally and promote equal access to premium-quality audio content. Whether you are in the process of learning to read, seeking inclusive reading technology, or gearing up for a lengthy drive, we trust that you will find delight in this curated audiobook assortment.
