The Android OS is widely used all over the world and is highly popular. Android devices come along with lots of customization options. In almost all the cases, default font on your android phone or tablet exists. It looks pleasant and is usually about the right size and style for comforts. But there would be android users who would prefer some other typeface, which would stand out from the crowd. And there will always be that small group of people who tinker with their android device’s fonts just for the sheer pleasure of being able to.

The ability to change android device’s system font is not a built-in feature in android. This means the device running on stock Android (Google’s Nexus line and Google Play Edition phones) do not have an easy setting option for changing the system fonts. Android phones have a customizable operating system. It is not always easy to change fonts. In many cases customizing fonts require a technical knowledge. Continue reading this article to learn more about different methods of changing Android font.

Method 1: For Samsung Users
Stock android usually does not have built-in methods for changing fonts, depending upon the flavor of Android installed by default, you may have feature available. For older version of Samsung device, follow the steps below:

Step 1: You need to open the settings of your Samsung device from the main menu.
Step 2: Click on the device.
Step 3: Tap on fonts.
Step 4: Tap on the font style. Now you can select the desired font available on your device by default.
The latest version of Samsung phone users that come with Android 4.3 or later can modify the font by using the following process:
Step 1: Open your settings option.
Step 2: Tap on my device.
Step 3: Select Display option.

Step 4: Tap on the font style. Now you can select the desired font available on your device by default.

You can pick one of the fonts that Samsung has preloaded in your device, or you can find a new font by tapping get fonts online.
To install a font package on your device, just tap on its icon after you download it, and it will automatically be incorporated into your device’s font list.

Method 2: GO Launcher EX
If you have a device that is running on stock Android that is a device with skin that does not have the ability to change system fonts then you may go for custom launcher. Some of the custom launchers integrate themes while some of them you will need to install themes. It changes the look of your home screen and app drawer.

Once the popular custom launcher that you can go for is GO Launcher EX. You need to download and install GO launcher EX from Google Play Store.

The shortcoming of this font customization is that it doesn’t change the font in your apps and android system menus. Font changes can be applied to the selected area of the custom launcher UI, but not to entire systems. To change the fonts in GO Launcher EX we need to follow the following procedure.

Step 1: Firstly, you need to copy TTF font files to sdcard/GO Launcher EX/fonts directory.
Step 2: Now open GO Launcher EX.
Step 3: On main home screen, tap main menu button (shown by 3 dots) or swipe the screen upwards.
Step 4: Now you need to tap on the preference button to bring up the GO Launcher setting page.
Step 5: Tap on visual settings.
Step 6: Then we have to swipe the font tab on the left.
Step 7: Tap on scan font as a result of which your app scans your directories for font files.
This may take a moment, depending on how many font packages available on your device. If everything goes well, the app should be able to find the fonts that you have copied to the sdcard/GOLauncherEX/fontsdirectory.

Step 8: Tap select font and you can select the font of your choice for your system.
Changes will be applied immediately. If you want more fonts you can download and install GO Launcher Fonts.

Method 3: Using iFont app
One of the popular apps that is iFont can also be used for changing fonts. Although mainly for Samsung device for both rooted and non-rooted, this app can also work for certain rooted non-Samsung device.

For non-rooted Samsung device, go through the following procedure to use fonts on the list:

Step 1: You need to enable installation of apps from Unknown Sources. This option is found from settings and then select security.
Step 2: Launch iFonts and go to online tab.

Step 3: Tap set button or you can go to Setting then go to Display and select the font style.

Step 4: Tap on the font name that you want to install.
Step 5: Now tap on the download button.
Step 6: Tap on new font to select the font for your device.

Font will be applied immediately and no reboot is needed.

Changing fonts is not a task that people perform everyday on their devices. But for those who do not change their fonts on their devices, it is gratifying to know that it is possible to change and with different ways.

What fonts have been displayed on your device today? Have you ever changed it before? How did you change it? Did you use any of the above given methods? Do let us know in comments!

Due to the rise in popularity of smartphones and the cheap provider plans that come with them, several consumers no longer use their landline. However, there’s still much be said for keeping hold of your home phone or buying a brand new one.

What’s more, cordless phones have come on leaps and bounds in recent years. You may be surprised to hear that they can rival the latest and greatest mobile devices in terms of features and capabilities. All the while, wireless handsets provide a great deal of freedom around the house too.

Sound quality

Despite the fact that smartphones can perform any number of tasks and duties, sound quality is often forgotten about. When you take into account the patchy reception you get in certain areas, nothing comes close to the clarity of a landline.

Another thing to consider is the frequency band of mobile devices and other household items. Most cordless phones run on DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology, which doesn’t interfere with things like microwave ovens.

Ease of use

Younger generations that have grown up with smartphones know how to use these devices almost instantaneously. However, older folk often find it more difficult getting to grips with touchscreens and mobile operating systems.

But cordless phones remain remarkably easy to use and operate. The large buttons and speed dialing function make it easy to get in touch with loved ones. The big screens, which can display several lines of text, are effortless to scroll through too.

On top of that, several models come with integrated answering machines. These are simpler and more straightforward to play back than smartphone voicemails. Remote access enables you to listen to messages away from home as well.

Range of features

Although any home cellular device would have a tough time of it rivaling smartphones in terms of functionality, the best cordless phones still pack a range of impressive features. Some of these are more effective and practical compared to modern mobile alternatives.

Strong and sturdy — Even with their aesthetically pleasing designs, smartphones tend to be quite fragile and easily broken. Cordless phones, however, are much more robust, making them perfect for those who require long-term durability.

Call barring — Nuisance sales calls are an aspect of life we struggle to avoid. That’s much less so with cordless phones, which give you the opportunity to prevent incoming calls from certain numbers. Anonymous call silencing and time control can make your home more peaceful as and when you require too.

Call transfer – If you have multiple phones in your home or at the office, transferring a call from one to another can be done at the touch of a button.

When you take these boons and benefits into account, it makes perfect sense to keep hold of or buy a new cordless phone.

Moto G was an ultimate revolution in the Indian smartphone market and now the successor of the Moto G has been announced. Motorola has decided to re-launch the G-series of smartphones with a successor that expects to get the most out of the simple and cost-friendly features of the first G. The company decided to stick to the former name, keeping things simple by calling it Moto G, 2nd Generation device or 1068 XT Model. One of the major upgrades is the new Moto G2 does have a Micro SD card slot which is located underneath the back cover. It also comes along with two new front stereo speakers for better sound output. The phone also supports dual Micro-SIMs. Have a look at the below listed features to know more about Moto G2.

Screen-Size& Display
The 2nd Gen Moto G features a 5.0-inch which feels like a nice upgrade over the 4.5inch of the original Moto G. Moto G2 supports 720p HD IPS display, which is absolutely made out of Corning Gorilla Glass. Moto G2 looks to have the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a dpi of 320.

Operating System
Moto G2 comes loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat OS, which can be immediately upgraded to Android L as soon as it is released.

Design
Tall and Sleek Moto G2 looks nothing unique when compared to Moto G from the design aspect. The new Moto G2 weighs 149 grams and is slightly heavier, taller and wider than the Moto G which weighs 143 grams.

RAM & Processor
Unfortunately, there’s no upgrade in the processor. Moto G2 comes along with the same processor as Moto G i.e. Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip which runs at 1.2GHz sports the Adreno 305 graphics processor and powered by1GB of RAM.

Storage
Moto G2 is available in 8GB and 16GB internal storage, which fortunately can be expanded up to 32GB via Micro SD card.

Battery
Battery of Moto G2 remains unchanged as compared to the Moto G i.e. 2070 mAh Li-Ion battery, but Motorola assures that it will last for more than a day.

Camera
One of the most unsatisfactory features of the Moto G was the camera. Fortunately, working on this drawback, Moto G2 packs in an upgraded 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for capturing your selfie.

Colors
Basically, Moto G2 will be available in Black and White colors with many colored rear shells which will be made available from upcoming October onwards.

Price
Moto G2 is made available from 5th September onwards on Flipkart for a price of 12,999INR (including offers) for 16GB smartphone.

Quick Look at the Specifications
Operating System: Android 4.4.4 (KitKat)
Screen Size: 5-inch 720pHD
Processor: 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400
Battery: 2070mAh
Dual SIM
RAM: 1GB
Storage: Available in 8GB and 16GB and could be expanded up to 32GB
Camera: Rear: 8MP& Front: 2MP
Dual front-facing stereo speakers
Connectivity: 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm Headphone jack, Micro USB and GPS.
Price: 12,999 INR for 16GB

Final Verdict
Hopefully, Motorola has worked on all inadequacies and drawbacks that we have noticed in the first-generation Moto G smartphone, most importantly unavailability of the Micro SD slot, smaller screen and low camera performance, and so we can expect the new Moto G2 to hit the market rightly and to break all the records.

The iPhone 5C might not be inexpensive but it’s a dazzling handset that carries a breath of fresh air to the iPhone lineup. Apple has launched the 8GB version of its iPhone 5C in India for Rs 37,500. a move aimed at trapping a larger share of the flourishing smartphone market in India. Apple’s iPhone 5c delivers a colorful new option in an improved, mid-level iPhone. For a limited time, Apple also is including a free case worth Rs 2,000 with every purchase. So is the iPhone 5c just old wine in a colorful new bottle, or is it another winner from Apple – let’s find out.

Screen Size
This is the most colorful any iPhone has ever been. The iPhone 5c sports the same 4.0-inch (640 x 1136 pixels resolution) seen in the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s. The iPhone 5c (124.40 x 59.20 x 8.97 mm, 132 grams) is slightly bigger and noticeably heavier than the iPhone 5 (123.80 x 58.60 x 7.60 mm, 112 grams).

Operating System
8GB iPhone 5c comes with iOS 7 out of the box. Apple put a lot of effort into making the system look and feel more decent and fresh. Transitions are smoother and slicker, and the design is trendy.

Battery
iPhone 5c also gets a longer battery life, weighing in at 5.73 Watt hours. At 3.8 Volts, that appears to offer 1507 mAh, compared to the previous iPhone 5 battery which was 1440 mAh. With not much internet browsing you can stretch the battery life to about 12 hours.

Camera
The iPhone 5c has practically the same camera that the iPhone 5 shipped with. iPhone 5c features a 8MP iSight camera and is among the best in the market which works well even in low light. The 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera shoots 1280-by-960-pixel images and records 720p HD video.

Processor and Storage
iPhone 5c is powered by an A6 chip with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.
