At What Point Is The "Social Contract" Null & Void?

The headlines at this point in time are centered on the government takeover of the health-care system. However, in the shadows government also continues to press hard for Cap & Trade, Amnesty for illegals, and other power grabs. This is a massive transformation of our nation into a socialist state. That is not hyperbole! It IS happening and has been happening since the early 1900's. Little by little over the past 100 years the collectivists have been chipping away at our Constitution and our freedom. Today we are just seeing the culmination of the dreams of the collectivists.

I would venture a guess this is not the desire of most Americans. Since the founding of the USA there has been a sort of "social contract". We, the people, give up some of our freedom as individuals so the government can provide a basic, minimal framework for defense, commerce between states and a court system. Some citizens do not abide by the contract, but most still do.

At what point has the government breached this contract?

Remember these words?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. As it says in the Declaration Of Independence, "governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes", and that people will put up with a lot rather than abolish the things to which they are accustomed.

BUT, at some point the contract has been so destroyed by one party that it cannot be held to exist any longer.

I would say we have passed the point where this government has the consent of the governed. They have become destructive towards our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (property).

We have a chance in November 2010 to attempt to institute a new government. This may be our last chance to do so. Make sure you a part of the fight. Fight for constitutionalists in the primaries, then vote for them in November.

We can restore our social contract as it was meant to be if we want to, but only if we really desire it.

Once again at AceOfSpadesHQ I saw something that sparked my interest. It is about how to answer a particular question on the intrusive Census 2010 form. Here is the idea from Mark Krikorian:

"Question 9 on the census form asks "What is Person 1's race?" (and so on, for other members of the household). My initial impulse was simply to misidentify my race so as to throw a monkey wrench into the statistics; I had fun doing this on the personal-information form my college required every semester, where I was a Puerto Rican Muslim one semester, and a Samoan Buddhist the next. But lying in this constitutionally mandated process is wrong. Really — don't do it.

Instead, we should answer Question 9 by checking the last option — "Some other race" — and writing in "American." It's a truthful answer but at the same time is a way for ordinary citizens to express their rejection of unconstitutional racial classification schemes. In fact, "American" was the plurality ancestry selection for respondents to the 2000 census in four states and several hundred counties.

So remember: Question 9 — "Some other race" — "American". Pass it on."

That is how I intend to fill out Question #9. And except for the number of people who live in our house, I will probably leave the other questions blank, unless people come up with more clever, truthful ways to fill out the other questions.

I saw this WSJ Opinion Piece referenced over at AceOfSpadesHQ.

It is entitled - That Other Government Takeover

Look what the collectivists are planning for student loans:

"Everyone knows Democrats are planning to use the budget reconciliation process to get ObamaCare through the Senate. Less well known is that Democrats are plotting add-ons to that bill to get other liberal priorities enacted—programs that could never attract 60 votes.

One of these controversial measures rewrites the Higher Education Act to ban private companies from offering federally guaranteed student loans as of this July."

The government doesn't like competition in its quest for unlimited power.

Democrats aim to bring their education revolution to the floor without a committee vote or even a hearing in the Senate.

The health care scam is bad enough. Add in the takeover of student loans, plus whatever else the liberals may sneak into the overall bill, and you have an unbelievable increase in government control and an equal decrease in your freedom.

"The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicts that Obama's budget plans would generate deficits over the upcoming decade that would total $9.8 trillion. That's $1.2 trillion more than predicted by the administration."

Hey, what's to worry about?!?!

I keep having this word in my brain. That word is "unsustainable", as in not being able to be sustained, as in our goose is cooked if we don't stop spending and start paying down debt.

We all know the "stop spending" part will never happen while the liberals are in charge. So, pray for a massive upheaval this coming November, or stock up on gold/silver/food/ammo. (Yes, I am one of those "preppers".)

Get Your Elective Healthcare Stuff Done Quickly!

Looks like the powers-that-be (i.e. democrat bastards) are going to go the reconciliation route on health-care. I am not the least bit surprised. This is the Holy Grail of the collectivists. They will not stop until they get something, anything, in place to ensure government control of the health-care sector of the economy.

Anyone with a brain knows their collectivist scheme will result in higher costs, fewer doctors and nurses, rationing of the remaining doctors' services, and poorer quality care.

My advice if any sort of government health-care passes:

GET ANY MEDICAL PROCEDURE YOU NEED NOW! ONCE GOVERNMENT IS IN CONTROL YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT YEARS TO GET ANYTHING DONE, IF YOU CAN GET IT DONE AT ALL.

I mean it. Don't put off any elective surgery for you or any member of your family.

BONUS: Here is a great business opportunity for any team of doctor's and nurses that want to make a fortune if this garbage becomes law. Buy a small cruise ship and sit just outside of U.S. territorial waters. Offer high quality health-care for cash/gold/silver, no insurance accepted. You will be millionaires.

On Why The Government Always Grows

In my reading about the Cloward-Pivens Strategy I came across this absolute gem of a passage. It tells in the most concise way I have seen why government always grows bigger and bigger.

It was over on American Daughter:

"Why does virtually every liberal scheme result in ever-increasing public spending while conditions seem to get continually worse? There are a number of reasons:

   1. The programs usually create adverse incentives. This is especially true in so-called “anti-poverty” programs. The beneficiaries find government subsidies a replacement for, rather than a supplement to, gainful employment and eventually become incapable of supporting themselves. Do you ever sit back and wonder what the Hell is going on in D.C. these days? The collectivists, community organizers, unicorn liberals, etc, are out in full force. They are expanding government program and getting as many people as possible dependent on the Federal government as possible. We have no money to pay for ANY of the non-constitutional programs. All these programs will collapse the system. Well, maybe that is the plan.

Cloward and Pivens, students of radical leftist Saul Alinsky, hated capitalism. They came up with strategy to completely overwhelm the system and bring it crashing down. Then it could be replaced by the socialist utopia, along with all those nice unicorns and rainbows.

It seems everything (recession/depression/job losses/deficits/runaway spending/increased government controls/islamic fanaticism) is coming together in a perfect storm.

I'm sure this will make some groups very happy (e.g. the Cloward-Piven crowd - you know, the ones who want to destroy capitalism and the USA by overloading the system and replacing it with their socialist utopia.)

They may get their wish, but it won't be any "utopia".

"Nationwide, at least $1.4 trillion in commercial real estate debt is expected to roll over during the next three years. Warren said that half of commercial real estate mortgages will be underwater by the beginning of 2011. A fifth of residential mortgages are underwater now, she said."

It is going to get worse, folks, much worse.

Pay down your debt, save as much cash as possible, and stock your pantry. Our government is incompetent, but you are not. This is where your rugged individualism will be needed. Help yourself, then your family, then your community. We don't need government to do what's right.

Saw this referenced over at Right Wing News. Some Senators are thinking about abandoning the Cap & Trade tax garbage.

"Three key senators are engaged in a radical behind-the-scenes overhaul of climate legislation, preparing to jettison the broad "cap-and-trade" approach that has defined the legislative debate for close to a decade."

A good thing, right? Yes and no. Yes, in that they realize that Cap & Trade is pretty much dead. No, in that they are contemplating something almost as bad. But, remember, this is government we are talking about. And government is about force and control, nothing more.

"Graham and Sens. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) have worked for months to develop an alternative to cap-and-trade, which the House approved eight months ago....

According to several sources familiar with the process, the lawmakers are looking at cutting the nation's greenhouse gas output by targeting, in separate ways, three major sources of emissions: electric utilities, transportation and industry.

Power plants would face an overall cap on emissions that would become more stringent over time; motor fuel may be subject to a carbon tax whose proceeds could help electrify the U.S. transportation sector; and industrial facilities would be exempted from a cap on emissions for several years before it is phased in...."

For a start, there is basically NO man-made global warming or climate change, so this legislation is idiotic from the very beginning. It is not necessary!

The regulation will absolutely crush the economy and drive what little manufacturing we have overseas, but there is one aspect that screams out in stupidity. They are going to cap emission from power plants, then tax the hell out of gas to help pay for the electrification of the transportation system. Where are they going to get the electricity from? Remember they are going to cap emissions from POWER PLANTS!!! Do these people think through anything?

There is some talk in the proposed bill that would expand drilling and authorize more nuclear plants, but we know that part will never happen.

Remember, these climate bills, like the health-care bills, are about control only. They solve nothing.

Sweep Congress clean in 2010! They ALL need to go.

What Is Your Gut Telling You? - And I Ain't Talking About Diet

I could list dozens of headlines from today, yesterday, the day before that, etc., that paint a pretty bleak picture of our reality today economically and socially. And I mean BLEAK! From the horrendous economy, to run-away growth in government power and control, the housing crash, islamic terrorism, nations dying economically like Greece........you get the picture.

My gut is telling me this will not end well. How about yours? This is not reveling in doom and gloom theories. This is looking at all that is going on today and thinking about the possible paths the USA and world will take.

My gut is telling me a lot of voters will demand the government "do something". Of course, it is the government that caused all this in the first place. The rise of liberalism to power in the 1960's began the decline of America.

My gut is telling me that the world will not choose wisely. Instead of more freedom and liberty, they will choose command and control.

My gut is telling me there are entities out there that are actively seeking our destruction, and have been for decades. Again, not conspiracy theories, just human nature.

My gut is telling me that as an average Joe, I am not at the top of any pecking order if things go bad.

My gut is telling me I should get better prepared for anything that might come because nobody else will do it for me.

My gut is telling me this didn't have to happen.

My gut is telling me to never forget what the collectivists have done to the USA.
