Those of you who have lost your mojo for any length of time know exactly what I mean. That certain way 'you' hold, and use, the parching tools....the order in which we all choose to create our work, and finish it off....the colors that work well with your own personal likes/dislikes, etc., etc., etc.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, I have been working with several of the techniques I am comfortable with, as well as the techniques I created (ie: Etched Glass) and I'm beginning to get the hang of things once again. I honestly do not think we realize just how much we loose/forget in this art form if we step away from it for any length of time!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Having said all that, I am attaching a few items I have completed recently and want to share and hope you enjoy your visit with me.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGQzwVd3Y7k/W-nXuw-HHcI/AAAAAAAAJsE/f5V5CD-nUIQJ9vDuDuDj4b2JpRwXSQ51QCLcBGAs/s1600/%2527Tis%2BThe%2BSeason.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1079" data-original-width="1600" height="215" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGQzwVd3Y7k/W-nXuw-HHcI/AAAAAAAAJsE/f5V5CD-nUIQJ9vDuDuDj4b2JpRwXSQ51QCLcBGAs/s320/%2527Tis%2BThe%2BSeason.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> 'TIS THE SEASON</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KsppvW15pp0/W-nXunDSz2I/AAAAAAAAJr8/_CZ2cV5P-SUoVXON7VXvpHLEMj7XSnAVgCLcBGAs/s1600/Abstract%2B%2526%2BLace.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1201" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KsppvW15pp0/W-nXunDSz2I/AAAAAAAAJr8/_CZ2cV5P-SUoVXON7VXvpHLEMj7XSnAVgCLcBGAs/s320/Abstract%2B%2526%2BLace.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> ABSTRACT & LACE</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HI0-j6tiv5Y/W-nXu1B6vwI/AAAAAAAAJsA/aG1ipBPT12c6nhAYRTO3meOV9ZLiMbC5ACLcBGAs/s1600/Beautiful%2BFall%2BWeather.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1073" data-original-width="1600" height="214" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HI0-j6tiv5Y/W-nXu1B6vwI/AAAAAAAAJsA/aG1ipBPT12c6nhAYRTO3meOV9ZLiMbC5ACLcBGAs/s320/Beautiful%2BFall%2BWeather.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> "ETCHED GLASS" TECHNIQUE</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g3XSlOgCrjA/W-nXvO0wiQI/AAAAAAAAJsI/xIa-PL3gwaMo0gAWHwosnG3O91jnVleeACLcBGAs/s1600/The%2BCowboy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1087" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g3XSlOgCrjA/W-nXvO0wiQI/AAAAAAAAJsI/xIa-PL3gwaMo0gAWHwosnG3O91jnVleeACLcBGAs/s320/The%2BCowboy.jpg" width="217" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> "ETCHED GLASS" TECHNIQUE</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EStdN4QixyE/W-nXwumdj9I/AAAAAAAAJsM/crgATnBr6nIX2udMhk357qLzrZyf8MIbgCLcBGAs/s1600/The%2BRose.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1232" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EStdN4QixyE/W-nXwumdj9I/AAAAAAAAJsM/crgATnBr6nIX2udMhk357qLzrZyf8MIbgCLcBGAs/s320/The%2BRose.jpg" width="246" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> WHITEWORK</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pkh8aRNWets/W-nXwxnqcKI/AAAAAAAAJsQ/BPFE8vW6FCEUIBNS3rD5cRWzUeRym0uSQCLcBGAs/s1600/Winter%2BBirds.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="213" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pkh8aRNWets/W-nXwxnqcKI/AAAAAAAAJsQ/BPFE8vW6FCEUIBNS3rD5cRWzUeRym0uSQCLcBGAs/s320/Winter%2BBirds.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">WINTER BIRDS</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I have a few more things in the works, but for now please stop by and say hello.....and enjoy the view!!!!! I have a little bit of adjusting still to do, but it'll all come together very soon. :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I had my first project ready to complete and post but when I got to the very last row of embossing the pattern, I really, really messed up and there was nothing I could do to salvage the piece, sooooooo...... this post is to share a second project. As I stated above, a bit of adjusting to do yet, (relearning the "feel" one must have for the different techniques) in this craft, but I'll get there!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3mo6gOj7FYw/W14luIvd_TI/AAAAAAAAJeU/oAaN--tV_T0qSPaF77lD1P0aqfHqeczjwCLcBGAs/s1600/Scan_20180729%2B%25282%2529a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1333" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3mo6gOj7FYw/W14luIvd_TI/AAAAAAAAJeU/oAaN--tV_T0qSPaF77lD1P0aqfHqeczjwCLcBGAs/s320/Scan_20180729%2B%25282%2529a.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> **Click to enlarge**</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, I must admit, I feel wonderful posting a new piece of work for the first time in nearly 2 years. The last time I was active here on my blog, I was in the middle of designing, and creating, a Zodiac Birth Sign Collection and a "life detour" happened. Well, I've completed the collection and I will share it with everyone now. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have not written instructions for these remaining 5 signs so only have a completed sample piece and the patterns, but they are available to purchase (for a very small fee) to help me with the cost of replacing supplies, so that I may continue parching, now that <u><b>I AM BACK.</b></u> :) I will add them to the blog store as quickly as I can. There is a slight "relearning" process going on, for me, just to try and remember how to do anything here on my own blog!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Anyway, here are the photos of the 5 remaining birth signs:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ywiXUpTdw0/W09uKWoQe6I/AAAAAAAAJdc/Pb_M-V7x65ohKaAEQXCWx3ZkYAYeeN6zgCLcBGAs/s1600/Cancer%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1529" data-original-width="1600" height="305" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ywiXUpTdw0/W09uKWoQe6I/AAAAAAAAJdc/Pb_M-V7x65ohKaAEQXCWx3ZkYAYeeN6zgCLcBGAs/s320/Cancer%2B2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1NCLJ5O49k4/W09uOhdaELI/AAAAAAAAJdg/1glPxJtKrsU24T16L9W71vNSQUuhKQc9gCLcBGAs/s1600/Gemini%2B-%2BNora%2B64th%2BBday%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1403" data-original-width="1600" height="280" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1NCLJ5O49k4/W09uOhdaELI/AAAAAAAAJdg/1glPxJtKrsU24T16L9W71vNSQUuhKQc9gCLcBGAs/s320/Gemini%2B-%2BNora%2B64th%2BBday%2B1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DAsAfbSzHZc/W09uqH1ZnII/AAAAAAAAJdo/DdRAEpFV4csuTvwTHPBB9S1wT3QH5CDdwCLcBGAs/s1600/Libra.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1529" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DAsAfbSzHZc/W09uqH1ZnII/AAAAAAAAJdo/DdRAEpFV4csuTvwTHPBB9S1wT3QH5CDdwCLcBGAs/s320/Libra.jpg" width="305" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aCJQO99cXQA/W09u-WxitGI/AAAAAAAAJdw/yK3dI5_bu0UxmuL701_RAnZXIAPpc0NUwCLcBGAs/s1600/Sagittarius%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1440" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aCJQO99cXQA/W09u-WxitGI/AAAAAAAAJdw/yK3dI5_bu0UxmuL701_RAnZXIAPpc0NUwCLcBGAs/s320/Sagittarius%2B1.jpg" width="288" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tBGmJc0EHRM/W09vWOc8qdI/AAAAAAAAJd4/JUhY_aQNti85TyEjg86l9ms9VWG-KZ1pgCLcBGAs/s1600/Virgo%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1435" data-original-width="1600" height="286" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tBGmJc0EHRM/W09vWOc8qdI/AAAAAAAAJd4/JUhY_aQNti85TyEjg86l9ms9VWG-KZ1pgCLcBGAs/s320/Virgo%2B2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">So, there you have the completion of my Zodiac Birth Sign Collection. Bear in mind, the photo frames around the photos are FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY, to give everyone a visual of how the completed project might look when framed. As I stated, above, I will place these signs in the blog store and notify everyone for those who have an interest in the pattern (to complete as you would like). Just because there is a pattern does not mean it must be completed the way "I" have chosen, so use your creative juices (as I always used to say) and create what you see "in" the pattern with the photo sample.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That's it for this time and please feel free to <a href="mailto:papercrazysplace@gmail.com" target="_blank">contact me</a> (as always) should you have questions....or just want to say "hello' after all this time!!! </div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Happy Parching....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/j8UxPV3DUVwQOsnMJHBl5Mqo3Sf8dDBewCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="61" data-original-width="137" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/j8UxPV3DUVwQOsnMJHBl5Mqo3Sf8dDBewCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Gemini and Cancer are the next to be completed and Leo, of course, is already done and in the store. I will be taking a very brief 'time out' over the first part of April and will then continue the remainder of the parchment collection.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have also removed my Ebook <b><span style="color: #674ea7;">"Parchment Craft 'Etched Glass' Technique"</span></b> from the publishing site it has always been on and although it is no longer in print, it can still be purchased directly from me, (via PayPal) if anyone has an interest. Bear in mind, one needs to know, at least, the basics of photo editing, or have a parching tutor who has learned the technique and can assist, but it is not a difficult technique to learn simply from the Ebook, as there are lots of visual, as well as written, instructions. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Also, if anyone has something, in particular, they would like to see, here on the blog, please drop thoughts, ideas, suggestions, etc., in the comments and I'm looking forward to reading them!!! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nhwxroskLek/TAWO1whPDcI/AAAAAAAADbw/r3HG7K51yMMnYK-HwAdG8jG-LcLfRsq0A/s1600/Book%2BCover%2BFinal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nhwxroskLek/TAWO1whPDcI/AAAAAAAADbw/r3HG7K51yMMnYK-HwAdG8jG-LcLfRsq0A/s320/Book%2BCover%2BFinal.jpg" width="258" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Lastly, for this time.....I have had inquiries about the Christmas images I have used on my cards, over the past few years, and they want to know where to get the images. They have always been right here on the blog, <b><span style="color: #cc0000;">to download FREE</span></b>, so here is a challenge for you!! Simply, grab a cuppa, put your feet up and take a break.....then get comfortable and <u><b>browse backward</b></u> through the 'older' posts and you will soon find where the <b><span style="color: red;">"Etched Glass" Christmas images</span></b> are that are absolutely<b><span style="color: red;"> FREE to download and use.</span></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Until next time....</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Taurus #1&2 In Store!!!<div style="text-align: justify;">Hi everyone,</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, after many hours of fighting pc crashes/blog totally disappearing/printer out of ink/backup printer not compatible with some of the programs I use on the desktop, etc., etc., etc., I finally have both Taurus birth signs in the store. Please be sure and let me know if anything is not working right though because all is well on this end.....so I HOPE it is on yours as well. :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If anyone has missed the ongoing posts about the Taurus signs, I made two of them because some parts of the world consider 'any' hoofed, male animal (aside from horses, etc) to be "The Bull", while here in the USA we put cattle in that category, so in order to have everyone covered, I made one of each so no one would be left out.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">All that's necessary for you to do now is choose which suits you, or your recipient, and they remain the same price (individually) as all the previous signs. For those who would like BOTH signs I have given a discount, so pick what you want and then have fun!! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Reminder: I always put my contact info, and the link here to my blog, on all of my pattern packs, so if my designing doesn't make as much sense to you, as it did to me, then don't panic because you can reach me with questions....or simply to shout "I don't get this"!!!!!!! :) :) :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. I am in the process of writing instructions so they are waiting on that task before going to the "NEW" Designs store. If anyone doesn't want to wait, just let me know and I'll add you to the list of those waiting for this birth sign and as soon as instructions are done I will notify you they are in the store.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b_CB2RI0EQY/VuRi6H47xnI/AAAAAAAADgk/564j3SdcEPgo60_AH-R56T8S-QmO63eQg/s1600/Taurus%2BFinal%2Bf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b_CB2RI0EQY/VuRi6H47xnI/AAAAAAAADgk/564j3SdcEPgo60_AH-R56T8S-QmO63eQg/s320/Taurus%2BFinal%2Bf.jpg" width="282" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Taurus #2</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jAeV1ON9A5c/Vtyh55fM_BI/AAAAAAAADfQ/QFmsPFpaYuoh8bRiiPh6E2-KK3vMhsziA/s1600/TAURUS%2B1c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jAeV1ON9A5c/Vtyh55fM_BI/AAAAAAAADfQ/QFmsPFpaYuoh8bRiiPh6E2-KK3vMhsziA/s320/TAURUS%2B1c.jpg" width="316" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Taurus #1</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The reason I have designed two signs for Taurus: During my research for birth signs I discovered that in other countries around the world, a "bull" can be any male, hoofed animal.....thus, the first sign. It appears that the USA is only one of a handful of countries, that consider a "bull" to be of the cattle genre, soooooo, sign #2 had to be done so that no one got left out!!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now, please keep in mind, as I stated at the beginning of this collection, these signs are a bit more on the 'rugged' side, in design, so I hope they will assist those of us who love parchment craft, in finally having something for those males in our lives and these birth signs would be perfect for a keepsake, very special gift. In the near future, I will be creating another collection with a 'frillier' appearance, so not to fret, there will be special ones for the ladies too.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Meantime, I'm back to the work station to get the instructions written for both of these birth signs and I am hoping I can get this polio ridden/fibromyalgia body to cooperate with me and get this sign complete.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMwoMeTFIZo5SBx2AxYCwAVlg/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. When all is said and done, I believe everyone will be covered in whatever their particular version of a 'bull' is. :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jAeV1ON9A5c/Vtyh55fM_BI/AAAAAAAADfM/STd1N6O8KC8/s1600/TAURUS%2B1c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jAeV1ON9A5c/Vtyh55fM_BI/AAAAAAAADfM/STd1N6O8KC8/s320/TAURUS%2B1c.jpg" width="316" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now, it doesn't show very well in this photo, but the majority of this project is made with a technique called "perga-broidery" and you can also find it in some of Manuela Provensano's work, as it is one of her techniques that many of us use often. It is a very demanding technique and can create a very nice blister on your middle finger, but it's quite lovely when complete........give it a try and you will see for yourself!! lol</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The pattern pack will be posted in the "New Designs" store by mid week and the 2nd version will follow shortly thereafter!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Just click on the<span style="background-color: #cccccc;"> "NEW" Designs Store</span> tab and have fun.....</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now, you will notice that the border on this sign is different from the first three signs already in the store.....which by the way, are the very same 'foundation' border pattern BUT if you look closely you will see they are all finished in a completely different way. Just thought I'd mention that again in case no one scrolled to the bottom of the page before now.....lol Anyway, the border on this sign is different and I will be using the same 'foundation' for Aires and Taurus, but my challenge to myself is to find a way to also make them different from the techniques I used on the Pisces....follow me?? :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I also want/need to mention in this post that if anyone prefers their Zodiac Birth Sign made using the #1 border pattern (already on the first 3 signs), please specify that in the <span style="color: #cc0000;"><b>COMMENTS area of your PayPal </b></span>so that I will know, because I will have to put that particular sign 'with' that particular border, and it will take time to do adjustments, but I wanted everyone to know, that as we proceed, it will be an option for a small increase in price. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me<a href="mailto:papercrazysplace@gmail.com" target="_blank"> here.</a> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Okay folks, that's it for this time for the Zodiac Collection!! For those who used to be (and still are) interested in my <span style="color: #45818e;"><u><b>BLOG CHALLENGE</b></u></span>, I will be having them again and the first one will be for the month of March. Sorry, but no prizes......just the enjoyment of challenging yourself to do/try something different in this wonderful world of parchment craft!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAADbU/KVIZGoZLjMw/s1600/Blog%2BSignature%2B4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4iQgFlbUD_o/VsCOt0XCziI/AAAAAAAADd0/VvPm0rpbDvc/s1600/Pisces%2BFramed%2B1a%2B%2528530%2Bx%2B600%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4iQgFlbUD_o/VsCOt0XCziI/AAAAAAAADd0/VvPm0rpbDvc/s320/Pisces%2BFramed%2B1a%2B%2528530%2Bx%2B600%2529.jpg" width="282" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Over the holidays I upgraded my devices from what they were to Windows 10 and it's not been pleasant in some instances, but I'm doing the best I can with conditions as they are.....for now. So, please bear with me and as I stated.....if you find glitches, please let me know ASAP so I can attempt to correct them and make everyone happy. :) :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">As promised, the <span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>Birth Sign Zodiac patterns</b></span> (3 that are completed, so far), are in the store and the <b><span style="color: purple;">Crowning Glory pattern</span></b> is also now in the store. The 'bad' news is: those of us here in the US have lost most of our local suppliers (which were very few to begin with) and Ecstasy Crafts has raised their prices for parchment supplies which makes it absolutely necessary for me to raise the prices for my patterns.....as well as my commission work. I hate doing this but I have no other option and I want to continue to be productive as long as I possibly can.....or as long as the supplies last!!!! So, be angry with me, but please, buy if you can so I can continue to do what I love.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Here are the patterns that are in the store as of today......Sunday, Jan. 24, 1016 I am continuing to work on more Zodiac signs and Pisces is soon to be posted, so watch for that next. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WAOVgx_viz8/Vp_uv8JPzUI/AAAAAAAADY0/2ebL-oRMbQo/s1600/Scan_20160118c%2B%25289%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WAOVgx_viz8/Vp_uv8JPzUI/AAAAAAAADY0/2ebL-oRMbQo/s200/Scan_20160118c%2B%25289%2529.jpg" width="160" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jqkHxv4_Ahg/Vp_vWjI9EJI/AAAAAAAADZM/-msGsNpLWoc/s1600/Capricorn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="189" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jqkHxv4_Ahg/Vp_vWjI9EJI/AAAAAAAADZM/-msGsNpLWoc/s200/Capricorn.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_joN7vXHH-Q/Vp_wEkd0HoI/AAAAAAAADZY/VDm2CE799fM/s1600/Leo-a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_joN7vXHH-Q/Vp_wEkd0HoI/AAAAAAAADZY/VDm2CE799fM/s200/Leo-a.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LxyQOO-KWKE/VqURZvONHPI/AAAAAAAADac/zwIXdFQGXG8/s1600/Crowning%2BGlory%2B1b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LxyQOO-KWKE/VqURZvONHPI/AAAAAAAADac/zwIXdFQGXG8/s200/Crowning%2BGlory%2B1b.jpg" width="153" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> If you are wondering why the Leo is in the mix this time......well, it is my own birth sign and it's the one I made first to test the pattern!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #741b47;">Vickie</span></span></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Now, every parcher will agree that creating anything for the males in our lives (from parchment <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">paper)</span> <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">is 'almost' im<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">possible, so <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">although I tried not to be gender specific in this <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">c<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">ollection, <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">it does have a <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">definite</span> <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">rug<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">ged</span></span> 'lo<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">ok' to it, soooooo,<b><span style="color: magenta;"> later on</span></b> I will design another complete collection that is a bit more feminine so no one gets left out!!!!!! Here is a sample<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> of the first collection:</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-muKrVPU3SDU/VpVwO6Uem0I/AAAAAAAADX0/grvlQiidAuE/s1600/Capricorn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-muKrVPU3SDU/VpVwO6Uem0I/AAAAAAAADX0/grvlQiidAuE/s320/Capricorn.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Zodiac Birth Sign Collection</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">When one is not parching for an extended time it's very difficult to remember everything in the right order, in this craft, when writing instructions!!!! I had hoped to have the Capricorn completed in time (in December) to have it posted and ready for purchase, but with the holidays I couldn't get everything in order, so it is ready NOW, if anyone wants to start their collection with this sign. Otherwise, the next sign is Aquarius and it will be posted over this weekend (1/17) so watch for it!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have also had many requests for the pattern pack for my Crowning Glory design and it took me quite awhile to 'remember' how I had put all my scribbling to together, but it finally was completed and it will also be in the blog store very soon. Here is that design, as a reminder:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J6v7EbFynFg/VpVwcbeSSwI/AAAAAAAADYE/Ubsri1nzw9c/s1600/Crowning%2BGlory.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J6v7EbFynFg/VpVwcbeSSwI/AAAAAAAADYE/Ubsri1nzw9c/s320/Crowning%2BGlory.jpg" width="219" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Crowning Glory</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Lastly, for this time.....I would like to thank one and all for your loyalty in continuing to 'check in' here to see if I was still around over the last 1 1/2 years and to all my fellow parchers for the support and kind words when I have had the courage to try and get something 'new' posted every once in awhile on FB. It truly has meant a lot to me to know that there are lots of wonderful folks who enjoy my work watching for something new to pop up somewhere!!!!! :)<br /><br />Well, that's it for now. There will be some challenges started too (like we used to have....sorry, but no prizes because the geographical coordination from sponsors is nearly impossible for us on this side of the pond) but we will continue to have fun with challenges simply for that......the fun in it!!!!<br /><br /><b><span style="color: #cc0000;">Happy New Year</span></b> to everyone and<br /><br />Happy Parching,<br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="color: #a64d79;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Vickie</span></span></b></span> <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Just click on the Tutorial tab at the top of this page and everything is over there!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">While I'm here, I would also like to bring a brief update on my health.....so everyone who has been thinking I have totally disappeared can rest easy 'cause I'm still around!!!! :)) I have made good progress in learning how to manage my most recent diagnosis of <b><span style="color: #741b47;">Fibromyalgia</span></b> and I have been parching for only short periods of time and relearning lots of things from <b><span style="color: #741b47;">Polio</span></b> limitations that have had to be intertwined with the constant pain of the fibromyalgia.......UGH!! So, there you have a 'brief' health update and I can't even begin to tell you how much I have missed the craft I love so much over these past many, many months. I didn't really realize how long it was going to take to learn how to live my life, again, with an additional 'handicap', but I'm not a quitter, so as long as I can breathe, I will be making progress.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sooooooo, I'm anxious to get back on track and (no promises, this time!!) I'm anxious to begin challenging myself (and all of you!!) to try new things in this awesome ancient craft.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">See you soon....</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. It's a new year....a new beginning, for me....and a new 'look' for my blog as well. Do you like the new look? :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, I'm a few days late with the <span style="color: #990000;">Happy New Year</span>, but I'm very pleased to finally leave 2013 behind and begin a new journey. It's a bit out of character, for me, to share much of my private life with my readers because it's much more inspiring, for me, to share all the exciting things (old and new) in the awesome world of Parchment Craft.....but, this is one time (and most likely the only time) I will share what has 'really' been going on with me over the past 18+ months.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">All of you who have followed me loyally, and those who have purchased my Ebook, "Parchment Craft Etched Glass Technique", know that I had polio (something the young people of today have never heard of) when I was 8 years old.....a loooooooong time ago because I'm a senior citizen now!! Anyway, without going into boring detail, I'll simply say that it destroyed the nerves and muscle in my right shoulder and as it would happen, I'm right handed....lol As I have gotten older....and then even old<b>ER</b>....all that damage became very difficult for me to 'adjust' my life around and eventually I found that using my right arm for some of the parchment techniques became unbearable so I had to slow the one thing I loved (parchment craft) down to a crawl, which I began to do in the middle of 2012. This is why those of you who "used" to look forward to a new, exciting post from me, on a sort of regular basis, were seeing less and less of me through the remainder of 2012 and then into most of 2013.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">During these 18 months, I have, unfortunately, had several more health issues to deal with (acute sleep apnea and macular degeneration in my eyes, plus I've had some 'mini strokes' during these months as well).....which have required more 'life adjustments', as I call them, and the most difficult one for me has been the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I know a lot of my parching friends, around the world, also have this very painful disease and they have found ways to deal with it. I have been, and continue to be, in the ongoing process of 'learning how to combine my Post Polio Syndrome AND the new Fibromyalgia. Both diseases are similar, in a lot of ways but the Fibromyalgia has been a very difficult challenge for me since I was diagnosed late last spring. As I stated earlier, other health issues (the 'old age' ones!!) are now mixed amongst these two debilitating health matters, so I literally have had to learn how to 'navigate' my life, all over again and that is what I have <u>had</u> to dedicate my life to these past months. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The learning process will never be over, but I believe I am now ready (or at least ready 'enough!!) to get back to my beloved parching, so let's get with it and get back to having some fun.....</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It seemed like it took me 'forever' to make this project. I titled it Diamonds and Pearls and I challenged myself with this piece because solid embossing is now very, very difficult for me to do, so instead of worrying over making a white work piece in solid embossing, I simply chose to make "pearls" everywhere!!! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GFd1y0Px1Do/UssBozPPqLI/AAAAAAAAC8M/XoFL5erov6M/s1600/Diamonds+and+Pearls.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GFd1y0Px1Do/UssBozPPqLI/AAAAAAAAC8M/XoFL5erov6M/s1600/Diamonds+and+Pearls.jpg" height="320" width="248" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Diamonds & Pearls</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The center of each of the flowers has a szarwoski crystal in it, but they do not show in the scan. :( I did photograph it, as well, but the stones still wouldn't show nicely. Here it is all tucked into a simple frame for hanging!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y26QoepVCNM/UssFa-20nnI/AAAAAAAAC8U/91AaIOt7EkA/s1600/Diamonds+and+Pearls+b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y26QoepVCNM/UssFa-20nnI/AAAAAAAAC8U/91AaIOt7EkA/s1600/Diamonds+and+Pearls+b.jpg" height="320" width="222" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Diamonds & Pearls</div><div style="text-align: center;">Framed</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now, I'm sure there are probably plenty of folks, out there, (who might have arthritis, or other debilitating/painful joint issues) who have already discovered it is easier on your dominant arm/hand to make lots of "pearls", instead of solid embossing, on our parchment projects, but it was an 'ah-ha' moment for me, when I thought I'd give it a try on this project!! Solid embossing, for me, has always been difficult to do because I can never seem to get all of it to be the same 'whiteness', but now this works perfectly, so I'm going to continue to make projects using another of 'my own' techniques!! :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">So, now that you all know how I made my own version of Diamonds & Pearls, here is the pattern and I'd love to see how any of you would complete it.....</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QQupzwbqtn0/UssOuCG3wXI/AAAAAAAAC8k/nepBe9mT0vg/s1600/Diamond+&+Pearls+Pattern.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QQupzwbqtn0/UssOuCG3wXI/AAAAAAAAC8k/nepBe9mT0vg/s1600/Diamond+&+Pearls+Pattern.png" height="320" width="249" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Diamond & Pearls Pattern</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: justify;">It is a graphic image I have had for a very long time and it was fun putting it to parchment. Give it a try and see where your own creative 'eye' takes you!! Good luck and enjoy. :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> Vickie</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Okay, let's get things started.....</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #4c1130;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #4c1130;">Several months ago I purchased Kannikar Sukseree's latest book titled,</span> <span style="color: #0b5394;">Best of the Best Parchment Craft Grid Work</span> <span style="color: #4c1130;">and although I've not been able to make as many projects as I would like to, I did do something a bit different with one of the grid patterns that I liked, from the book. The pattern I chose, is on</span> <span style="color: #3d85c6;">Page 22</span> <span style="color: #4c1130;">and I challenged myself to see how many different variations (aside from the ones already in the book!!) I do have some good news and that is: I'm now more able to get things back on track and over the past few days I've been doing some major "blog house cleaning" and I may have done too good a job!!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">An old (2011) challenge has re-appeared in the mailboxes of those members who receive updates via email, so if you are one of those members, and should you wish to take part in that particular <u><b>OLD</b></u> challenge, then please feel free to do so!! There were a lot of participants when the original challenge was issued, but I'm always willing to reissue something that everyone seemed to like a lot. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">For those who might not have a clue what I'm referring to,<b> <a href="http://allthingsparchmentcraft.blogspot.com/2011/06/anyone-up-for-challenge.html">CLICK HERE</a></b> to go to the original challenge, issued in June 2011. Read the challenge instructions.....download the pattern.....and have <b><span style="color: #0b5394;">FUN!!! </span></b> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now, my challenges are <u>NOT</u> a competition. They are solely for parchment crafters who enjoy challenging themselves in ways that one might not think of. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">While everyone is enjoying the challenge, I will continue my "blog house cleaning" task at hand and I'll be sharing some new things with all of you very soon!! :)) If anyone taking part in this "renewed" challenge would like to share their works when completed, simply let me know, in the comment box, and I'm always happy to share it in the Guest Gallery here!! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Not a fun thing to have to do but I've learned over the many, many past months, that I've been dealing with this, that it can be done. Oh yes, did I mention I'm right handed!!!! It now takes me a very long time, from beginning to end, to produce the beautiful works I share with everyone here, so please hang in there with me and I'll continue to bring you as many fun and exciting "out of the box" things to try, as I always have!! So.....let's see what I've mustered up this time around. :))</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">In reviewing my whole blog to see what everyone is the most interested in, the winner is always the same......MANDALAS!!!! Personally, I love them too, but I also like a variety of things to create and challenge myself with!! So, the next question I presented myself with was....what is the most difficult "people group" to create hand made items for, and again, the answer is always.....MALE!!</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Now, with those two prerequisites in mind, I set about creating a parchment MAN'S MANDALA. It may sound silly, but it was quite difficult to do!!! It couldn't be too 'frilly' and the techniques used had to be rather bold. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">This piece is an 8"X8" Wall Decoration made from an A4 sheet of parchment. The design is traced in black and then 'shadow' lines are added to give the project a more bold, masculine appearance. The only embossing tools I used were: Perga small and medium sun tool/Perga stylus and size 1 and 3 embossing balls.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qQ25cTvkJ80/T8e8-Ktg3SI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/HuB3GD1GlPo/s1600/A+Man%2527s+Mandala+Closeup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qQ25cTvkJ80/T8e8-Ktg3SI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/HuB3GD1GlPo/s320/A+Man%2527s+Mandala+Closeup.jpg" height="289" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: black;">A Man's Mandala - Detailed View</span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Although it took me much longer, than ever before, to complete this project, (only because I have to have my arm in a sling when I parch!!) I think I accomplished my goal of making it work as a 'Man's Mandala'!! Maybe I'm a bit biased in my overview, so tell me what you think!!!! Do you think it meets the requirements of bold and masculine.....or do you think it's still to frilly?? I know, I have been away far too long (had...and still have...a few new, serious health issues to deal with) and I promised at the beginning of 2012 there would be some new things to play with so although I'm a wee bit behind, I'll be writing again and sharing my journey through the wonderful world of parchment craft!!!</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">I had a lot of things "in the fire", so to speak, and they all need finishing up, so I can share them with all of you. I LOVE CHALLENGES!!! :)) Everyone can see I chose white work as the technique for my fan. My fan is also a full A4 size wall decoration. The <b><span style="color: #cc0000;">CHALLENGE</span></b> is: Download the FREE fan pattern and do whatever your heart desires from it. When complete, either send a photo/scan back <b><a href="mailto:papercrazysplace@gmail.com">here</a></b>, to me, OR some of you may find it easier to post to Facebook and I will download it from there and share it with all my wonderful blog followers right here in the Guest Gallery!!! </div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Now, my challenges are not a competition so there is nothing to win. It's simply a chance to take a break from 'other' things and take part in a self challenge using a pattern with absolutely no instructions!!!!!</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Enjoy and have some fun....</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Happy Parching,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. I don't have an expensive, high powered, high definition camera and that's why I've never included good quality close up shots of my work, but the "Crowning Glory" piece brought all that to my mind once again. The bottom line here is that the same "challenge" was in my face once again and as soon as I posted the first part of this topic, I immediately felt like I was cheating everyone out of how much work there really is, in this particular piece for you to see, because none of <u>you</u> could 'see' it the way I could. </div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Sooooooo, since the original post was made a couple of days ago, I've been busy trying many, many things with the tools I do have at hand and.......drumroll, please!!!!! I "think" I have resolved an issue that has plagued me for a long time......here are two close up views of "Crowning Glory"!! If anyone still cannot see all the detail work, please, please, please let me know. :))</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kPNVUonKE4k/TzLojL7ZgyI/AAAAAAAABAo/mhnVSdffLIw/s1600/Detailed+%233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kPNVUonKE4k/TzLojL7ZgyI/AAAAAAAABAo/mhnVSdffLIw/s200/Detailed+%233.jpg" width="191" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bMS9XMO1-Os/TzLnOsGobGI/AAAAAAAABAg/806mkK9rbNY/s1600/Detailed+%25232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bMS9XMO1-Os/TzLnOsGobGI/AAAAAAAABAg/806mkK9rbNY/s200/Detailed+%25232.jpg" width="136" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Hopefully, with these two close up views you can actually see the "<span style="color: #cc0000;">pergabroidery</span>" technique I spoke of in the first post....that no one could really see, but me!!! Just a little reminder......if the close ups are still not working, please let me know so I can work a bit more on the solution!!! So, without further delay, I'll get right to it :))</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">This piece is another that was "in the works" (August 2010) when my right shoulder decided it wanted to live outside the rotator cuff.....not where it's supposed to be, but to this date it remains in that condition so I have been focusing, mainly, on putting the finishing touches on projects that were in my 'to complete' folder. I then get them posted on the various sites that I share my work on and I'm not sure how I managed to not post it here too. Well, here it is and it's called "Crowning Glory".....</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aDvLzIH7Png/TzG_nLwjJrI/AAAAAAAAA_o/bXEtOHk7VQk/s1600/Crowning+Glory+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aDvLzIH7Png/TzG_nLwjJrI/AAAAAAAAA_o/bXEtOHk7VQk/s200/Crowning+Glory+1.jpg" height="200" width="141" /></a></td></tr><tr style="color: black;"><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mounted</td></tr></tbody></table><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ecsceU3nOvc/TzG_3tHCMdI/AAAAAAAAA_w/x3L36R1Ikgs/s1600/Crowning+Glory+1c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ecsceU3nOvc/TzG_3tHCMdI/AAAAAAAAA_w/x3L36R1Ikgs/s200/Crowning+Glory+1c.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a></td></tr><tr style="color: black;"><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Framed</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;">As you can see, it is a full A4 size and when framed it is 9" X 11" (including frame), so it's a very noticeable piece when hung on the wall. One day I will get the pattern reworked so that it can be used by anyone other than myself!!! It's in pretty rough shape at the moment because I haven't taken the time to clean up the draft version of it for public use!!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: black;">The reason I have shared the mounted photo, as well as the framed photo, is because, when enlarged, the mounted photo shows more of the detail work on the project. Instead of doing lots of heavy embossing on this piece, I chose to do what a very talented, parching friend of mine created, called "<span style="color: #cc0000;">pergabroidery</span>". If you look very closely, you will see that there are LOTS of tiny 'thread' lines throughout the piece. These are to resemble embroidery threads and when the piece is seen (in real life) one cannot tell, without actually touching the piece, that it is not embroidery thread....it is 'thread like embossing'. I love doing this technique and I adore the finished, elegant look it gives the completed works.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: black;">Happy Parching!!</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: black;"> </span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2g3-0lTtXCM/TS4SvUHFNsI/AAAAAAAAAtU/vGkFCn3bd5s/s1600/Blog+Signature+4.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: black;"> </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black;"> </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="blogger-post-footer">I always love to hear from my readers so please consider leaving a comment. Several weeks ago I promised a dear friend that I would share "my secret" for perforating, and cutting, in parchment work without breaking bridges. Problem is/was....I became ill and I forgot I had committed to do that and the question came up again very recently...and I was reminded I had done a boo-boo in not keeping my promise to her :(( Sooooooo, here I am and I'm ready (I think!!) to attempt to put my tried and true 'secret' to paper, and photo, without totally confusing all of you :))</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">First, here is a photo of an unfinished parchment piece that I have had for ages and ages....don't really know why I ever even kept it, but sure glad I did because it's coming in quite handy for this post.....lol</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gWAnpdk2k18/TybpVaxvZvI/AAAAAAAAA-g/zJZMAFIFPeQ/s1600/Prevent+Broken+Bridges+-+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gWAnpdk2k18/TybpVaxvZvI/AAAAAAAAA-g/zJZMAFIFPeQ/s400/Prevent+Broken+Bridges+-+3.jpg" width="341" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Left click to enlarge the image for better viewing.</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">The way I have managed to make my bridges <u>VERY</u> thin, and still not have them break when cutting, is really a matter of 'focus' when you do any cutting on parchment. Slow down and take your time when cutting AND you must learn to 'look around' the area you want to cut next!! Let's follow the areas I have marked on the photo above.<br /><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">#1: Take your time and look very closely at the <b>UNCUT</b> area that is perforated. Look at the <b style="color: #38761d;">GREEN</b> arrow in the <b>CUT</b> area. To avoid breaking parchment bridges (bridges are the thin, perforated strips of parchment that are left after the cutting is done) it is very important that you <u><b>BEGIN</b></u> cutting a new area (#1 uncut area) on the opposite side of the already cut side of the bridge. <b style="color: #cc0000;">**Stop reading now and take a serious look at the #1 area on the photo again**</b><span style="color: #cc0000;"> </span> The first cut you will make on the uncut side of that bridge will be in the top corner....cut to the bottom and you will now have a bridge that is totally cut away from the parchment paper....now, it is safe to finish cutting the remaining perforations, in that area, away. </div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">#2: Let's have a look at area #2. I have marked it with <b style="color: #38761d;">GREEN</b>, once again, but look at the whole area and you would then make your decision as to where to begin cutting that area. This whole process is basically simply changing your cutting habits to looking around the whole area close to where you will cut and identify where the bridges are that are already cut on one side. Now, be very careful with area #2 because there are two separate areas that need to be cut here!!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">#3: Take your time and look around area #3. Following my 'secret rules', decide where you will begin cutting the parchment paper out of that area....without breaking the bridge.<br /><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">#4: Repeat the first three steps throughout your parchment project and it will be a very, very rare occasion that you will ever have a broken bridge again.</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Now, you ask.....how and why does this keep the bridges from breaking?? All those little pieces of solid parchment paper that we cut away from the bridges are the foundation to that particular space. They are the strength in that little space, soooo, if we leave the strength there, and cut the weak parts first (the bridge itself), as we are cutting the bridge, the strong part of the area is holding the bridge from moving or flipping up/down while we cut. The bridge remains safe and sound and you can now proceed with cutting the remainder of the parchment paper away from all the other sides in that particular space.</div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">If my tutorial is still confusing to you, just grab some scrap parchment and make a practice lattice area (a tick-tack-toe area without the x's and o's!!) and emboss the straight lines of the lattice in any thickness you wish. Now, begin cutting following the instructions!!!! No, no, no....don't start screaming.....it'll be just fine.....you'll see :))<br /><br /><b><span style="color: #c27ba0;">**Enlarge the photo above and print it out. Place it close by, for easy reference, while doing your scrap 'practice' work!!** Thanks, Judith Maslen, for the suggestion.</span></b></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;">Oh....and try not to get frustrated because, after all, the <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">Golden Rule</span></b> in parchment craft is what?? <b><span style="color: #3d85c6;"> PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!!!</span></b></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="color: black; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="color: #741b47;">Anyone with questions...please ask in the comment box and I'll answer there, as well.
