It's almost here. The most anticipated electronic music event of the year is almost here and everybody is craving to know about who will be DJing at this years UMF 2012 in downtown Miami, Florida. My guess is certainly going to be Avicii, Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Porter Robinson, Above and Beyond, ATB, Fragma, Kaskade, and a few other big names like Skrillex and some of that dubstep crap you kids like.

The reason why this years event is going to be so big in Miami is that Identity Festival got canceled due to a faux hurricane that never made landfall and there fore we will see the promoters and so forth making up for the event.

Move on over Bernard Madoff. As Joan Lappin of Gramercy Capital Management in San Francisco, california comes out and says the 11 book runners are out there trying to spread out the risk in case the deal goes lfat or down because Groupon does not have a viable business model as 95% of Grouponers never return to test out the product because the product certainly is not that good.

Sorry Andrew Mason you're still hitting a home run but the question begs is Groupon a bigger ponzi scheme than the biggest known one of all time? Each and every future deal is needed to pay off the past groupon deal as the accounting is shoddy and the only way to float the money after the 60 and 90 day period to previous vendors is to have a new one going out to pay the bills.

It's a shady but smart business model in many ways but smells fishy that they need the future business to pay off the past business and going to the open markets via an initial public offering seems to be the only way to safety.

None the less it's an interesting business model that I wasn't fond of from the start yet remained shocked as they blew up. Now the question is do they bear the same fate as LTCM & MF Global down the road?

When it comes to copying one thing that may be obsolete in a few years I must say that I can not agree more that the streamlining possibilities provided by the cloud computing wave is certainly going to make a huge difference in the way we watch and download music, movies, and other forms of entertainment over the next few years.

Whether its a copy of the lion king in 3-D or its a true mobster hit there will always be a need for ways to entertain and let people kill time by using as Mark Cuban explains it the way to make it to the top is to avoid being one of those who chooses the laziest form of entertainment to occupy and kill time.

The future of this industry however will reside with people who are interested in pushing digital and affiliate related products such as work out videos, weight loss tips, and other marketing offers. The rest of the digital video industry will suffer greatly and its demise will be slow and painful as the industry subsides.

So as we move on in the 21st century we think about what the dvd duplication market has to offer and where it will head to in the future. Well when it comes to really making a mark and standing out from the crowd I must give Kudos where they are certainly due and today I recognize one firm that I had the pleasure of speaking with out of Phoenix, AZ who goes by the name of Superior Marketing Group who really did an amazing job of teaching me some really cool intrinsic advertising methods.

These ideas where things that I would have never consciously thought about because its really superior marketing at it's finest (hence the name) some of the really cool things that they were able to teach me was that in something as simple as a group of billboards on a well traveled highway can have an enormous impact if you are promoting a product say, Soda for this example.

The first billboard may have a pretty girl saying "its hot down here in Phoenix I could really go for a Soda", the next ad a few miles down the road may say "Still thirsty because this sun is hot and you haven't stopped yet?", the following one may say "I was thirsty at one time before I stopped for soda name", and finally the closer says "Stop now for a soda at the next exit and you'll be entered to win a free enter prize name here".

What does it really take to become an academic publisher? I mean really I spend all day long writing about non sense on this blog and about 200 million others but something deep down inside really tells me that I will not be hitting the elite status with my pieces of art work seen throughout the internet but hey that is just a thought of mine but perhaps I could be wrong.

If you wanted to really make a difference in the world than perhaps you would look into academic publishers who can detail their scientific research and findings in different fields. Perhaps I once had a dream to be published at a clearing house like cambria press for pieces of work that had to do with the intrinsic value and payouts for CEO's to help stem the financial crisis which ultimately took place due to greed but hey perhaps one day right?
