All Things Repeated: Photo A Day?

The internet is a wonderful thing when you really do not know that you are looking for.

I was looking through out the internet and stumbled upon a Flickr account that has a ton of very interesting and beautiful photos.

Come to find out that the gentlemen in the photo's was taking a photo a day of himself and posting it to is Flickr stream. He did that for a year. Most of the ones that I really enjoyed was in a heavily wooded area with very intense greens and the black and whites. Not to sure if I can call that inspiration but it certainly motivated me to move and want to post something.

With this new found inspiration I decided to accept the Project 365 challenge. (For more information you can read about the challenge and how it all works by visiting the web site here.)

So, today I post something simple as far as a photo. It is the table currently in my dining room and my family has had it for years. It was with us through hell and high water. Also a house fire with the ceiling on top if it. It made it out of there in one piece.

So, how was your day with out Wikipedia?

My day sucked with out it. If this bill passes it will be worse.

Can you imagine your day with out Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, your college's website, or your banks website because the government don't like something that is listed. You will not have a choice in the matter either.

The government don't have any idea who they are really attacking and have no real person with skill to understand how the internet really works. Congress, local leaders, and FCC really has no social interaction other then the stuffy people that they typically rub elbows with in their lavish office. They do not reach out to the communities that they server and more importantly the people that voted them in the office in the first place. They feel the need to shove their ideals down your thoughts and make you feel like you are an idiot.

As a free-thinking globally-minded internet user, I pledge allegiance to the web. To the information, which should be forever free with equal, unrestricted access for all who wish to access it. In no way am I suggesting to break laws that are protect copy-written material or actually take content that actually belongs to someone else. The information that is put forth by its creators that want that specific information seen by all should be free to roam wherever the contents creator chooses. There is a way that you can get what you want however the goverment needs to know that this is not the way to go about it.

Mr President, and all the goons that put this together, I believe you should seriously go back to the drawing board.

Also, If you remember Obama was the one who made fun of people with disabilities, should he be banned from the internet or be allowed to use it at all?

He seems to make a bad wrap for himself quickly.

All Things Repeated: Top 5 Songs Of 2011!

Last year was full of a lot of music releases. Some I hated, some were ok, and there were others that I loved.

This post is the top five singles released last year that I absolutely fell in love with.

The first is LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It". The video is without question one of the funniest things that I have seen. Also, it has a great beat to the song.

My second choice is Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" single that was released in early May. It's colorful music video and easy to dance to. The song also hit the number 3 position on the Billboard top100, UK R&B, and the US Pop charts.

My third choice is "We Found Love" by Rihanna. This a super pop song with a fantastic dance beat to it. Rihanna faced a lawsuit over the video in comparison of photo's from a different artist. This is a different medium and yes I can see the similarities. You could even go so far as to say that the video is inspired by these photos.

My fourth choice is interesting to say the least. Kesha (or Ke$ha) is a douche bag and to be honest if I met her I would probably hate her guts. She sounds like one of the girls that really does as little as possible to become famous however I really like the song "We r who we r" to dance to. Also, Kesha, I think you need to go back to the third grade to learn how to spell properly. Just saying the obvious and thanks for a song for me to shake my ass to.

My last choice is "Grenade" by Bruno Mars. He actually posted a message via YouTube about this song and its meaning. He says and I quote: "Today, I get to share with you the visual companion piece to my new single, 'Grenade.' The song is about loving someone so deeply, and the pain of knowing that the person you love does not feel the same. The actions in this video serve as a metaphor, and should not be taken literally. I am aware of the power of visual media, and I encourage everyone who watches this video to understand that it is an artistic interpretation of the song, and not something to imitate."

All Things Repeated: Changes To The Blog Line Up!

Well, there has not been a lot of time between work and World Of Warcraft that I have to do a blog post. I just wanted to let you know that there is going to be some changes on how I do things for the blog.

I still want to post something for music so that will remain at the Monday slot. Wednesday is going to be a mix of Tech and art news. Friday's is going to be whatever is happening in the world or whatever else that I find interesting. So you will be seeing three post a week at the minimum.

I am still thinking about doing a massive overhaul for the look of the blog and a possible rename. All Things Repeated has been a good run however there is always room for growth. If there will be a change you will be the first to know.

Hopefully you will come back tomorrow to see the first massive music installment of the year!

New years eve 2012 was the best time ever. Drinking whiskey sours and dancing to LMFAO's dance anthem "Sorry For Party Rocking" ten or so times. Today I feel like utter crap and I can not stand the pounding headache that I have.

This is the top 3 things that you can do to make your hangover a little more bearable.

1. Stay Hydrated

You are going to drink water, juice, and anything that has a lot of vitamins in it. The main reason why we feel sick the following day is because you are dehydrated and you depleted your vitamins quickly with the alcohol beverage of your choice. Just remember kids to be smart and not mix anything with those juices.

2. Rest

Make sure you are at least getting at least six hours of sleep. So if you have to be at work the next day it may not have been the best idea. With a few hours of sleep it will bring your body back to were it should be.

3. Eat Breakfast

Don't skip this. Eggs, a beagle, Coco puffs, or fruit. Potassium-rich fruits like banana's are fantastic and eggs have protein. This goes to the same reason why you would want to stay hydrated - so you can build up the vitamins back up in your system.

4. Have Tylenol or Advil handy!

Do I really need to explain again how bad of a splitting headache I have. This is just obvious!

5. Dont Drink and Drive

This is just the general rule of safety. I would love to rock the house with a few drinks with you next year so leave the keys at the counter or with a sober friend.

At the end of the year I like to do the traditional holiday stuff and wish you guys a great holiday. So, Happy holidays.

Now that I got that all out of my system lets move on this year and do something a little different.

I have always enjoyed football. The last few years I have loved to see the Jets in their green jerseys and whoop some ass. If anyone knows about great Jets football would be a great guy that is located in New Jersey is Gary Vaynerchuk. He is the guy that knows about wine with no fluff and actually gotten me thinking recently with his book "Thank You Economy." I am using that as motivation for this post. He has no idea how much of a fire that he lit up under my but to do this post. So, for that, Gary you are amazing. Also, just as a side note, you can visit his web site here.

My first set of Thank you's is going to my family. My mother and father took a lot of time teaching me and my brothers and sister about respect. For all of that I am grateful. My sister is my best friend. My older brother is super smart and my little brother is the little goof-ball that I cant get enough of. I seriously love my family a lot.

My second set of thank you's is a little weird but still needs to be stated. Since this is such an age of the internet, there as been a plethora of great content. Revision3 has a great run with Diggnation. Kevin, Alex, Prager, Hippie and all of the side guest have been fun to watch. Today is the mark of their last show. I am sad to see them leave this platform however I know that they will not be leaving entirly. With all of the giggles and reactionary "WTF?!?!" shouted out loud has been amazing. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.

My third Thank you's go to my guilds and wonderful group from two games that I have been playing. Flyff (a.k.a Fly For Fun) and World Of Warcraft. There are so many people in Fly For Fun that I have run into that have been amazing over the last three years that it would take me forever to remember all of their names and Im sure that it would take a while for you to read them all as well. So, to everyone in the Lycan server currently my endless gratitude for just being you.

I also started to play World Of Warcraft on October 31. It took me a while to decipher between the good and the mediocre. TSK is a fantastic guild in the Area 52 realm filled with a group of fantastic people that you can learn a lot from. Tresus, Vampirella, Moobiespank, Asarii, Olitold, and Sleepyvoodoo are (or at least in my opinion) the best members out of that guild. I have learned so much from them (and the entirety of the guild) and I would swear that I would not have my pally ass where I am without their help. Thank you for all of your time and hard work. If you play World Of Warcraft at all then please consider raiding with them. They deserve great to be the greatest in the realm. Visit their website here and on the official battle.net web page here. To my current raiding buddies in Area 52 and Stormrage has been fantastic. To name a guild "Death By Snoo Snoo" is hilarious. So if you are alliance in Stormrage, come over and say hello to us. I promise we don't bite.

To our Police, Firemen, EMT's, and nation's military members you are stronger then I could ever could be. You mean so much to the people that you serve. Thank you so very much.

As a final thank you, to one of my personal hero's just remember to "Stay hungry, Stay foolish" and never forget that you are valuable in every way.

So, this new year is going to be fantastic. I can feel it.

COMPUTERWORLD recently reported from their web site that the social media giant Facebook has been experiencing a few issues recently.

When someone would log in and see their streams there are violent, graphic images of children, and within 24 hours people have been reporting the issue. The are not sure what is the source of the current issue however it seems as if the user would click on something (like an ad) and from there the mayhem would begin.

It's called Click-jacking, once the initial link is clicked, it coordinates a spam attack that exploited a browser vulnerability. This could leave your computer at risk as well.

Keep in mind kids that you would need to have your anti-virus software up to date and never click on something that you do not trust.

I also adore any game that is an MMORPG. The last few years I have played a game called Fly for Fun. It's interesting but I always had the desire to bust open the WoW battle box for & fall off the face of the planet for a few days. That is exactly what I did.

Trust me it is not the easiest transition in the world. Going from an AoE Tanker / Healer a.k.a Bad ass billposter to a new world with a whole new set of rules is overwhelming. I’ve decided to be a Blood Elf paladin. So the skill set, tanking and healing, will not go away by any means. I just feel lost in Azeroth. In Madigril, I know where everything is and how to do it.

The transition from Fly for Fun to World of Warcraft has been very interesting even if I am a lost little noob now. Everyone has been so nice and helpful.

I am just hoping that the transition is a smooth one and hopefully I will be ahead of the curve when the next expansion hits the store shelves.

I say bring it on you Panda monk bitches. I dare you. I just want the opportunity to karate chop you dwarf butt off the face of the planet.

Steve Jobs, 1955 - 2011

In 1955, the popular game Scrabble hit the market, a war ended, Disney opened in Anaheim, Dwight D Eisenhower became president, and Steve Jobs was born.

His birth mother handed him over to a couple that adopted him with a promise to put him through college. He grew up in the town of Mountain View located in California. As a young man he attended lectures after his high school classes at the Hewlett-Packard Company. He eventually was asking for a job and was turned down.

Steve attended school at Reed College for a part of a semester. Soon there after dropped out and dropped in to classes for a few months until he finally decided to quit officially. He and a few of his friends started the Apple Computer Company in 1975 in his parent’s basement.

In 1983, I was born. Also in 1983, this would mark the introduction of the Lisa for Apple. This also marked an incredible turn for the Apple Company. In 1984 Apple created a commercial that would have the world looking at the company with new eyes. (Here is the video for your viewing pleasure.)

When I was 3, Steve was fired from Apple and very publicly. However, He continued on to created NeXTstep and Co-founded Pixar because he believed in what he was doing.

Steve came back when Apple in 1997 when NeXTstep was bought out and the company grew into Apple stores. They unleashed the iPod in 2001, stunned the world with the iPhone release in 2007 and featured their iPad that was "revolutionary" in January of 2010.

As Mr. Jobs stated, "If I had never dropped in on that single calligraphy course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts." Nor would he have "connected the dots" and created a company that he honestly believed in or did what he had enjoyed to do for his life time.

He is a modern day revolutionary and changed the world in a major way.

Weather or not you hate or love the Mac or iPod line it doesn’t matter to me. I still say that you have to pick your own poison; however, when you say iPod you will forever think of Mr. Jobs.

Mr. Jobs has taught me a major lesson that I will always take with me. The lesson that I learned is if you don’t like what you are doing when you look in the mirror then something needs to change. Don’t ever stop believing in yourself and what you are doing.

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" and do the best that you can every day.

Its been 10 years.

Each and every year for one day, I feel like a New Yorker.

Thank you so very much for having me (and the rest of the country and the world) be a part of your families through out the years and every thing that you have done. Weather your a fireman, police, paramedic, EMT, Doctor, in the military, a sister, brother, or a parent. Thank you so very much for staying strong and sharing your stories with the rest of us.

For those who lost their lives, you are not forgotten.

I dont know about the rest of you but I am super excited about coffee. Even through out the summer I can have a tall "insert cool name here" latte or a Cappuccino.

Pumpkin Spice is a fall flavor. Starbuck's started to sell their flavored delight via the cup today. In Chicago people started to enjoy their lattes a week earlier then the rest of the country.

The Chicago Tribune did a wonderful article and you can read it here. While reminiscing about the pumpkin's heaven in a cup I stumbled across a cute article in Chicago Now! about the anticipation of fall. You can read it here.

My Chemical Romance has announced that they have fired their drummer.

In a statement that was posted on their web page, and before the blog-o-spear went crazy with wild accusations, "The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show..."

Also, the band does not wish to peruse any legal litigation or has "no intention of pressing charges" against Michael for his actions other then remove him from his responsibilities with in the band.

Now, the question that arrises for me is, who will be his permeant replacement? Also, will their just be a touring member until that permeant replacement arrives?

Earlier this year, Netflix announced their price change for their service.

In recent news, Starz will not be renewing their contract with Netflix. The reason behind the decision is that Starz believes that they ultimately will loose money by continuing to provide movies and television shows via the very popular streaming sight.

The two powerhouse companies signed its current agreement in 2008. It will continue through February 2012.

Starz is known for well renowned hit series like Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena, Boss, & Camelot.

Amy Winehouse

For those of you that dont already know, Amy Winehouse (Pictured on the left), Passed away on July 23rd.

She had passed away in her home in London at the age of 27. The cause is still under investigation. This is two months before her next release in September.

In related news, Microsoft served up a tweet to purchase the Back To Black album on the Zune network. Microsoft offered up their Apologies on Monday for their actions.

As a side note, Amy's album went to the top of the charts in the iTunes Music store on Monday.

A while back I chose two musicians that covered Katy Perry's song "Firework".

I noticed that there are a lot of great voices among the interwebs that deserve a listen. I found a few covers for the song "Grenade" by Bruno Mars.

Much like the last post, Boyce Avenue makes a great cover that leaves a lot of subscribers of youtube in awe. The instrumentation is beautiful and with a powerhouse set of vocals sets the stage for a fantastic cover. Hope you enjoy it!

Old idea's never die when it comes to the web.

From reports that I have read so far, iCloud will be a revamped version of MobileMe. iCloud will also include music into this. Virtually making iTunes also cloud based. The reports also say that there is more of a software update and networking to be more streamlined. September will more then likely bring an updated iPhone to further support this weeks developers conference.

Just remember people that nothing is official until Apple actually announces what this iCloud thing actually is.

Also, just as a side note, Google has also made its move with "Music Beta". I would assume that there is a long wait in store with this service as well. Not to mention, Google's service has always been free. Not to mention, most of the Google services (this would exclude Google Wave) has been great in comparison.
