Twitter rolls out a new update that allows photos and Vine videos to appear in the timeline. Users can just tap to show the full version of an image or play a video. You can also go to settings if you want to disable the Tweet previews.

The latest update also allows you to retweet, favorite a tweet and send a reply without ever leaving your feeds.

You can now download the new update via Apple’s App store for iOS devices and through the Google Play Store for Android devices.

In case you are wondering why most of your Facebook friends are sporting a display picture of a giraffe, it’s because they failed to provide the right answer to this riddle:

“It’s 3 a.m., the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?”

The person who shared the riddle will ask their Facebook friends to send the answer through private message instead of posting it in the comment section. If their answer is right they will be tagged in a comment and if they got it wrong they have to use a cute picture of a giraffe as their display picture and keep it for 3 days. They are also encouraged to repost the riddle on their own timelines.

Apparently this fun riddle was started by Australian travel video blogger, Andrew Strugnell through his Youtube channel and now it has gone viral on Facebook.

Facebook reportedly offered $1 billion to purchase the mobile photo messaging app, Snapchat. According to some industry sources, the bid was declined by Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel.

Facebook has also acquired Instagram for the same amount last year and has introduced a similar mobile messaging service named Poke. Snapchat was said to have over 350 million photo messages sent daily by its users.

Both Facebook and Snapchat has not comfirmed this rumor.

Marketing Agency, OgilvyOne Athens was commissioned by Nestle to develop a high-tech bra that sends a Tweet everytime it is unhooked. The revolutionary piece of lingerie is a part of the company’s campaign to promote breast cancer awareness in Greece.

The bra is embedded with low-voltage Bluetooth device that is found at the back of the bra. The mechanism sends a message to a mobile phone that and generates a tweet to that is sent to the twitter account @tweetingbra. The tweet contains a message that reminds women to undergo a regular breast examination.

Researchers from Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM in Berlin has developed a new breathing sensor system that help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

This system can be embedded in infant romper suits. It features a stretchable printed circuit board made of polyurethane. The special circuit board fits to the the contours of an infant’s body and can alert the parents in case the baby stops breathing.

The researchers also adds that this special device may be produced using “routine industrial processes”, which means that once it is available in the market, it would be affordable to consumers.

IZM scientist Manuel Seckel said:

“The circuit board we have developed can be manufactured using routine industrial processes, meaning a high throughput and, consequently, good cost-efficiency. Furthermore, components can be positioned on it just as precisely as on a standard board thanks to the stability of the stretchable substrate during processing. This stands in contrast to textile-based electronics, where one can expect an offset of up to five millimeters over a half-meter area.”

Polaroid launches an Android tablet especially made for children. The Polaroid PTAB750 7 educates and entertains kids while at home or on the go.

It is a 7-inch tablet that runs on an Android 4.0 OS. It also features a 1GHz processor, 8GB internal memory, an SD card slot for expandable memory, 512MB of RAM, WiFi and a USB port. The device also comes with a built-in speaker, headphone jack, microphone and a Digital accelerometer.

It is pre-loaded with top rated learning Apps and interactive books. Parents can also control what their kids are browsing with the tablet’s custom web browser and parental controls.

The device is also durable because it is integrated with side and rear rubber bumpers to protect the tablet from shocks and falls. Polaroid also claims that the device is designed to “withstand all sorts of liquid accidents.”

Fastfood chain, Mcdonald’s is set to change the signs of their selected stores in Australia to pay tribute to the country’s national celebration,  Australia Day. The signs will be changed to Macca’s.

Mcdonald’s Australia’s chief marketing officer talks about their  unique campaign:

“We’re incredibly proud to embrace our ‘Australian-only’ nickname. What better way to show Aussies how proud we are to be a part of the Australian community than change our store signs to the name the community has given us?”

Macca is the nickname that over 50 percent of Australians use to call the restaurant. This will be the Mcdonald’s first time to do such marketing strategy. However, the signs will be a temporary one and will be changed back to its original state after they end the campaign.

Puzzle lovers can procrastinate and get busy assembling their own pencil with Varacil, a “Mechanical Pencil Plastic Puzzle Kit”. The kit is manufactured by Japanese toymaker, As If Toy.

Once you open the box, you will see around 22 plastic parts. The pieces don’t have to be glued. You can just snap it together and it can be completely assembled in around 40-50 minutes.

French Luxury brand, Louis Vuitton has opened a ski-thru boutique in a ski resort in Gstaad, Switzerland. The resort’s Vacation goers can now park their skis outside the shop and do some serious LV shopping.

The Gstaad resort is also home to different high-end brands like Hermès, Cartier, and Audemars Piguet. A number of luxury five-star hotels that offer picturesque views of the Swiss alps are also found in the area.

Louis Vuitton first opened a store in Gstaad back in 2004. Their new boutique is in celebration of the Gstaad’s 700th anniversary.

China’s national legislators has submitted a new law that requires adult children to visit their elderly parents regularly or risk getting sued.

The law allows parents to sue their children if they feel neglected. Even in a family oriented country like China, elderly parents are also often abandoned and neglected by their children.

One proof is a local news of a 90 year-old grandmother who was forced by her son to live in a pigpen for two years. Some leave their parents in elderly homes if they are unable to care for them. While some end up abusing them and illegally control their finances without their consent.

The law does not specify how often the children must visit their aging parents.
