<p>Allegheny College is a Carnegie I national liberal arts college that ranks among the top 7% of liberal arts colleges in the production of future Ph.D.’s, business leaders and other professionals.  The institution is also a founding member of the highly regarded NCAC with a proud tradition of athletic and academic excellence.  The College sponsors 21 NCAA Division III athletic programs, as well as a vibrant offering of club sports, intramural, fitness and outdoor recreational activities.  Located within 2 hours of Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo, our location provides a rich recruiting area for our athletic programs. </p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of a competitive women’s lacrosse program. Specific responsibilities include identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; regular practice sessions and game preparation; and assisting with overseeing the administrative process for team travel, program budgets, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and Recreation.  Assistants should also understand the Division III philosophy and thrive in an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Event management or other major duties will be assigned by the Athletic Director. </p>

<p>We are searching for a candidate who can boldly articulate the nature and aims of a traditional liberal arts college and can provide guidance, support, and positive leadership over Allegheny’s efforts toward increased diversity.  The preferred candidate will also bring the experience necessary to cultivate and manage relationships with prospective multicultural students, their families, and high school counselors.  A team-oriented disposition, strong organizational abilities, adaptability, a high energy level, as well as excellent writing and public speaking skills are essential. </p>
<p>Responsibilities for this dual-role position incorporate the full range of admission duties to a highly successful, national admission campaign.  Duties include, but are not limited to:  effective correspondence with prospective students and other constituents, extensive event planning, application assessment, interviewing and necessary travel.  This position will have an assigned recruitment territory with corresponding goals. </p>
<p>Approximately one half of the position’s responsibilities will include developing and managing student of color recruitment initiatives as part of a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to diversity recruitment.  Additionally, this individual will collaborate with college constituents such as current students, faculty, the Chief Diversity Officer and the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Access regarding the college’s strategic vision for a diverse community.  We seek an inspirational, creative and innovative person to lead new and existing efforts.  A minimum of three years of college admissions or related experience is preferred with a proven track record of working with a diverse population of students. </p>

<p>Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the critical skills of this job. Experience in the collegiate sports information field is preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, work ethic and motivation. A working knowledge of desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite) is highly desirable as is experience with StatCrew software and video editing software. Must be able to meet multiple deadlines with high quality results and be available to work nights and weekends. </p>
<p>Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the Director of Athletic Communications &amp; Marketing with the organization and direction of all aspects of the athletic department’s communications and marketing efforts. Serve as a liaison between the department and the media as the primary contact for several of Allegheny’s athletic programs.</p>
<p>Write, design and edit print collateral including media guides and game programs. The assistant sports information director will also direct the program for nomination and publicity of student-athletes for various honors, awards and special recognition; manage student staff; and assist with the daily maintenance of the College’s athletic website.  Successful candidates should understand the Division III philosophy and thrive in an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Event management or other major duties will be assigned by the Athletic Director. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for a full-time, twelve-month position of Head Softball Coach.  Allegheny, located in northwest Pennsylvania, is a four year, selective liberal arts college serving 2,100 students with unusual interests, skills and talents.</p>
<p>Allegheny College is a Carnegie I national liberal arts college that ranks among the top 7% of liberal arts colleges in the production of future Ph.D.’s, business leaders and other professionals.  The institution is also a founding member of the highly regarded NCAC with a proud tradition of athletic and academic excellence.  The College sponsors 21 NCAA Division III athletic programs, as well as a vibrant offering of club sports, intramural, fitness and outdoor recreational activities.  Located within 2 hours of Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo, our location provides a rich recruiting area for our athletic programs. </p>
<p>Candidates are responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of a highly successful and competitive varsity softball program.  A Bachelor’s degree is required; however a Master’s degree is preferred.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, practice and game preparation, player development, coaching, budget management, travel coordination, and other areas of sport administration. The ideal candidate will have previous college coaching experience and an understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution.  They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written), have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Additional responsibilities will also be assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.</p>

<p>The Department of Political Science invites applicants for a tenure-track position in U.S. Politics beginning in August, 2013.  The Department seeks a dynamic teacher and scholar able to teach an array of U.S. government offerings that could include parties, interest groups, Congress, campaigns and elections, and voting behavior, among others.  Ability to teach in areas of race, ethnicity, and/or gender as well as research methods would also be welcome.  Candidates should also be able to offer introductory courses in U.S. government.   Ph.D. at the time of appointment is preferred.  Teaching load is between 5.5 and 6 courses, depending on Senior Project advising.  All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide first-year/sophomore seminars that emphasize writing and speaking. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Visiting Assistant Professor of Art / Ceramics and Sculpture Technician.  The Art Department invites applicants for a two-year position, with possibility of renewal, beginning Fall Semester, 2012.  Experience in both sculpture and ceramics (hand-building with sculptural emphasis). M.F.A. required. Teaching experience preferred.  Teaching load is one course per semester (one section of Introduction to Studio Art and one of either Sculpture I/II or Ceramics I depending on expertise).  Position also involves 25-30 hours per week of technician work, which includes evenings and limited weekend hours to oversee student use of facilities for departmental courses.  Primary responsibilities include kiln firings (gas and electric, and possibly raku), clay and glaze making in ceramics, and oversight of woodshop, welding (arc, oxy-acetylene and mig), and bronze facilities in the sculpture area.  Additional duties as assigned, including assistance with the general upkeep of studios and equipment maintenance.  Also provided is a small studio and use of equipment and facilities year round.  Allegheny Collegeis a highly selective private liberal arts college with a dedicated faculty of teacher-scholars. <p>The successful candidate must possess an appreciation of the NCAA Division III philosophy while engaging with student-athletes in a highly selective liberal arts environment.  A bachelor’s degree is required.</p>
<p>Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of the NCAA Division III Football program. Specific responsibilities include working with the running backs or wide receivers, identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; regular practice sessions and game preparation; and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. Event management or other major duty will be assigned by Athletic Director.</p>
