										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Allegheny College is committed to helping employees face the demands of juggling work, family and personal obligations. We are excited to announce updates to the College holiday schedule and the offering of several new work arrangement options to provide employees with increased flexibility with their work schedule while allowing Allegheny to maintain a progressive and productive work environment.</p>
<p><strong>2022 Holiday Schedule</strong><br />
In addition to the five existing holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving), the College is <strong>adding 2 ½ holidays</strong> to this year’s schedule.</p>
<ul>
<li>Monday, 6/20 — Juneteenth National Independence Day Observed</li>
<li>Wednesday, 11/23 — Day Before Thanksgiving (College previously closed at noon)</li>
<li>Monday, 1/16 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day</li>
</ul>
<p>Winter break will be Monday, 12/26 – Monday, 1/2.</p>
<p><strong>Summer 2022</strong><br />
Summer brings the return of <strong>summer hours</strong> for the months of June and July. Standard summer business hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., with a one-half-hour lunch. New for this summer is the addition of the option of <strong>one remote work day per week</strong>.</p>
<p>Department managers are responsible for ensuring that offices are open and staffed in-person during all normal business hours. Therefore, employees are required to obtain manager approval for their remote work day and maintain the same schedule each week.</p>
<p><strong>Academic Year 2022–2023</strong><br />
The College is excited to introduce a pilot program of <strong>work week options,</strong> beginning on August 1.</p>
<ul>
<li>Option 1:  Standard work week of five 8-hour days</li>
<li>Option 2:  Compressed work week of four 9-hour days and one 4-hour day</li>
<li>Option 3:  Compressed work week of four 10-hour days</li>
</ul>
<p>The additional option of <strong>one remote work day per week</strong> will still be available for employees.</p>
<p>Again, employees are required to obtain manager approval for their work schedule and maintain the same schedule each week so that departments and offices are open and staffed in person during normal business hours.</p>
<p>By offering alternative work scheduling, we will support employees in accomplishing work and personal goals while providing appropriate coverage for individual department operations. We recognize that some options may not be available for all employees. Please work with your manager to discuss your options.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Office of Human Resources is pleased to introduce <a href="https://selfservice.allegheny.edu/">Employee Self Service (ESS)</a>.  Employee Self Service is a web-based portal that provides employees with their pay and benefit information at their fingertips.  This online tool will enable employees to view real-time information to ensure the data is accurate and up to date.  In addition, ESS will replace WebAdvisor as the time entry system of record.  In addition, as a module within the Ellucian Colleague platform, ESS integrates with other modules within Colleague to increase efficiencies and streamline processes.  </span></p>
