We post plenty of adorable photos of cats and kittens being sweet and calm. But do you see the ones being just a little off the wall?

Here's Cocoa Puff, who looooooooves to be brushed and get his belly rub. Apparently it just melts his brain, according to this picture.

Caroline is a sweet girl who really enjoys time with her toys. She has one of our jellyfish toys and a square kicker, both available in our store.

Poinsettia adores the feather wand, but it helps to keep it low down since she's only got 3 legs and sometimes she falls down reaching for it.

Odessa likes to play a lot more since her success with dieting. Hiding in a paper bag is great fun.

All of these silly kitties are available for adoption and would love to come be sweet and silly for you.

Dallan Hope, the blind kitten

Dallan Hope and his siblings were found in a dumpster. Dallan's eyes were severely damaged and had to be removed, but he's doing fine. He's in a great foster home that has made some safety modifications to allow Dallan Hope to learn his way around.

Here he is a few days after surgery, checking out the cat tree. He wasn't allowed on the cat tree unsupervised though, don't worry!

Dallan Hope is just one of the many kittens we take in each year that need costly medical intervention to save. With your help, we can continue to save sweet and loving cats like this that need extra help.

These five kittens were born in a humane trap to a feral mother cat who was trapped for TNR (trap-neuter-return, the humane way of preventing overpopulation in feral colonies). Since they were born in mid-march, we named them after birds: Magpie, Hummingbird, Canary, Finch, and Chickadee. These sweet babies have been handled since they were born and will be available for adoption through Alley Cats and Angels after they are fully vetted (mid-June).

Yellow Season: characterized by sticky yellow powder on your car, your clothes and up your nose.
and Kitten Season: characterized by adorable little fluffballs found under porches, crawlspaces, garages and anywhere else that a mama cat deems safe

It's kitten season... Alley Cats and Angels is receiving a lot of requests for help but we need more foster homes.

Sassafrass is very shy and didn't do well at adoption events, so she's been waiting for a home for a long time. She finally met the right person.

Kitten videos and fundraiser!

There's been a whole lot going on lately, including a massive TNR event over Labor Day weekend. That colony had a whole bunch of feral cats, including some who are semi social but need to be relocated to barn/garden homes.

Here are some of our dedicated volunteers vaccinating the colony cats after their spay and neuter surgeries.

Some of the kittens in the colony needed urgent medical attention, mostly due to severe eye infections.

This little boy is Blackbeard, in a picture taken just days after he was removed from the colony. You would hardly know it to look at him here, but his eye is much better and he's filled out and cleaned up lately.

This young lady is Anne Bonny. She's doing a whole lot better now, but she's still under 2 pounds, and too small for her eye surgery and spay. But now she plays and cuddles like a healthy kitten, although not as much cuddling - Anne just has too much healthy kitten energy to sit still!!

Crazy busy weekend!

the biggest effort this weekend is a TNR project for a colony in Knightdale
Last night they had gotten 54 cats trapped, and 4 kittens. The kittens could be picked up and they all need urgent medical care.

This poor baby and a couple of others are probably going to need eye removal surgery. Don't worry, one eyed kitties do just find and are much healthier and safer after the surgery. But it's very expensive. (please donate!)

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our two community weekend events successful - shoppers, supporters, volunteers. Between Apex Peak Fest and Meet in the Street, we made over $1,500 for the medical fund. That's a lot of catnip toys (other items were sold but the catnip toys made up at least 2/3 of the sales). People and kitties do love our catnip toys made with 100% organic leaf and flower catnip directly shipped to us. We have many repeat customers each year. THANK YOU!

We have soooo much going on this weekend and several opportunities for you to come talk to our volunteers, buy catnip toys, learn about TNR and the work we do. Or, you know, adopt a new family member.

It's PetSmart National Adoption Weekend. That means if you've been thinking about adopting a cat or kitten, if you do it THIS WEEKEND, PetSmart will donate money to Alley Cats and Angels.

Our adoption events this weekend will be from 11am-4pm Saturday and 1-4pm Sunday at PetSmart Knightdale

Two big, annual events are coming Saturday - Apex Peak Fest from 9am-4pm in Downtown Apex and Meet in the Street 9am-6pm Downtown Wake Forest.

So no matter what corner of the Triangle you live in, there's something for you this Saturday.
