To My Loyal Readers...Change Is Good

To all the readers out there who are looking for real political change and links to the truth about our politicians and their scheming ways, I ask that you continue your search for truth. I have recently decided to change my blog address to: http://cmoirallthingsdiscussed.wordpress.com/ in order to utilize a better system of getting the pertinent information out to the citizens that are simply tired of the way our government is being run.
Do not forget that it is imperative for us, a members of this country, to understand that WE have the power to make the change, not just the figures that are in their current roles. This nation is built on promise and opportunity to build our individual wealth and prosper with freedoms not afforded other countries. We need to take the vote back and rid ourselves of incumbents that are out of touch and do not necessarily vote for their constituents, but for personal gain.
Many states have members of their House or Senate that have sat in the same seats for decades and are elected on name alone. This is the year that we need to educate ourselves and make a difference. Iowa...Do You Need a Change?

Iowa has always been a crucial swing state for many political hopefuls. In 2008, Barack Obama won its seven electoral votes because of steady campaigning and a heavier field organization than republican John McCain. Also in 2008, you, as a state elected a democratic majority in your House of Representatives in order to give Obama the opportunity to thrive in the nations top seat. What remains odd is how you also decided to re-elect incumbent GOP Charles Grassley to the Senate as well as republicans as Governor, Secretary of State and Auditor.
In 2012, Iowa will be counted on to serve another crucial role in not only the Presidential election, but again in Congress and other lower level avenues. Stay on the path, Iowa. Change can not and will not happen in only four years, not after the eight year mess that our POTUS inherited. Do not be fooled by the rhetoric, lies and innuendo that the GOP is mudslinging in various forums. Seek the truth about all candidates involved and that path will be clearly shown to you and everyone in this country. The first step is to register to vote and then to educate yourself so that your vote will make a difference. This is not an appeal to only vote one way or the other. This is a fact sharing mission to uncover the lies and falsehoods that some would have you believe.
To register to vote in your state, you can merely go to http://iowa.gov/For_Citizens and scroll down to register to vote. Once that is complete, the education begins in finding out what candidates are running in your district, how they have voted in the past and their platform and views that are important to them. The question will remain on if those views, morals and ideas coincide with your own. There are many sites that you can go to that will leave your head spinning as to who is saying what and if there is truth to any of it. The one site you might want to check out is factcheck.org as it will check and re-check ant question you ask and give you a straight answer. This is a non-profit site that has no affiliations with one party or the other.
Any time that you have doubts about what you are reading, always look for solid links that will show you where the information came from. You want to know about the healthcare bill and what republicans don't want you to know about it? Well, you can visit the actual Healthcare Law here, or you can find an easier to read version with citations that explains it all here. You see, there is so much information in this world of technology it is very easy to just go with what you hear and not bother checking. Did you know that Mitt Romney actually gave a PowerPoint Presentation on this very same healthcare law back in 2006? That info was probably omitted while he has been busy trying to repeal the law republicans dub "ObamaCare."
Your state motto,"Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain", is a clear indication that you will fight for all that is good and right for our democracy as a whole, both in state and country. How far will you go to save your liberties and rights. Will you take the time to vote wisely and not allow our country to be diminished by liars and thieves in our government? Now is not the time for a republican POTUS that has only the ideals of the rich in their hearts and minds. Be careful as you go to the polls and realize that under very little help, Barack Obama actually has done some good for this country. You can view his list of Accomplishments since entering office, with citations of course. Taxes under Obama right now are at a 30 year low and you might not be aware that even during Reagan's presidency unemployment was at 8.5%.
So everything that you hear about Obama may just be Romney's smear campaign that he will never be able to back up with any proof. Go seek the truth and find out for yourself before you vote. This country needs your help and your vote to not allow another disgraceful man to be elected to the most powerful post in the world. Indiana...Do You Need a Change?

Indiana is a state that offers eleven electoral votes in the presidential election and could be a pivotal state in the future of America. Your motto, Crossroads of America is a reference to your great city of Indianapolis and its highway hub that connects you to all directions of the U.S. but can also be used as an anecdote for the country in 2012. We are clearly at a crossroads and where do we turn as a state or country in order to climb out of the dismal position that our leaders have left us? The first thing we can do is stop complaining and take charge once again and not allow our representatives to continue this regression of values our country has faced over the past thirty or so years.
In 2008, voters in the state of Indiana barely gave Barack Obama the nod as POTUS with an underwhelming 49.9% of votes compared to GOP John McCain who received 49.0%. That close margin, however, may not have shown the complete picture as you voted overwhelmingly for a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives. Then 2010 came around and possibly you were disgusted with the way this country was being run based on propaganda and innuendo from opposing politicians and you turned your house around, just like Illinois, to a Republican majority. You voted GOP in almost all elections, which inevitably gave Obama very little support in government. Why the sudden change, Indiana? Do you know the truth about what Obama has been doing for this country, against all odds?
Why don't you take the time and read about our POTUS's achievements since gaining office in 2008, with citations of course. Have you taken the time to research Mitt Romney's political agenda and misconceptions about the role of government and his personal finances? Do you care enough to be an informed voter in 2012 and help change the direction of government? Without the truthful knowledge, it is very easy to be misguided as to who will be the better leader for the next four years. I am in the mindset that if you vote from the bottom up, we can be a much better country as a whole. By taking part in your local and state elections as well as federal, you are fully taking charge of the full picture, from education to taxes and everything in between.
It is very easy to elect a POTUS and believe that the rest will jut fall into place. It is not that easy, however, as there are many incumbents in many states that are elected on name recognition alone and not how they represent you, their constituent. Help change our direction by going to Indiana.gov and clicking on the about section to register to vote and let your voice be heard. Taxes right now are at a 30yr low and unemployment is no different than when Ronald Reagan was POTUS. We need to support our growth with a president that has morals and values, instead of one that refuses to show his tax documents and denies a healthcare law that he, himself, presented a PowerPoint presentation on in 2006. Where does it end? When do the voters take back the government?
I would hope that day would be on Nov. 6, 2012. All seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for re-election and of course the highest seat in the land will need to be secured. Do not allow this to be a #saddayforusa2012 by not making your vote count. There are many ways to get the facts on all candidates and time is running out. A good site to visit is factcheck.org for all truths from all sides of the spectrum. It is up to you to decide, but with all the mudslinging and untruths that are surfacing we need all the facts we can get. This election promises to be the most important in a long while and can be devastating to the country if the voters are uninformed. This country can not afford to stay at the crossroads any longer. The path is clear, but will our leaders choose what is best? That is up to us.

Illinois...Do You Need a Change?

Illinois has been a solidly democratic state for quite some time. In 2008, Barack Obama won the state by a landslide 61.8% of the votes and gained the 21 electoral votes the state had to offer. In essence, democrats across the board in their house and senate, won by overwhelming victories. So what exactly happened in 2010, Illinois? Why at the time when change began to happen after trying to clean up years of a GOP mess that was George Bush, did you decide to change your house to give the majority to the republicans?
Did you feel as if our POTUS was not getting the job done quick enough or that the republicans you elected would better serve you, as a state? Think twice this election in 2012, Illinois. Think hard and educate yourself because you have a very important say in how the next four years will be handled from our top leader. By leaving Barack Obama with very little support, this country will never be able to fully change. You need to research and weed out the lies and propaganda and make your vote count this tear more than ever.
Obama may not be the best POTUS we have ever had, and his sound bites are very easy to misinterpret, but there is a lot of truth in what the man says, while others bite their tongue. We, as a country, have an opportunity to continue with a president that tells it like it is and does not hold any punches. This country needs truth and values infused into the system and Obama is our only chance at that progression. Of course you may or may not agree with the ACA(ObamaCare), but have you actually taken the time to break it down and know what the bill truthfully enacts? There are many ways for us to check and double check all information given on the campaign trail from both parties, but if we choose to just listen to the soundbites, we will never be privy to the truth.

There are ways Illinois to take our government back from the liars and thieves that call themselves your leaders and unfortunately at this time in our country's existence, the GOP has not been forthright with their intentions. How can anyone trust an individual such as Mitt Romney that will not even present his tax records to the public as all other candidates have done. What is Romney hiding and what are his true intentions? No longer should we give much stock to meaningless advertisements that skew the truth and propaganda that endorses liars. Idaho...Do You Need a Change?

In the great state of Idaho, there is a motto that remains, Esto Perpetua , which means, "Let it be perpetual." This motto can clearly be a claim used for our nation as well. However, in these desperate times, constant friction among our elected officials are diminishing our country's opportunity to endure and live on. It is within this friction that our leaders have forgotten what is important for us as a whole, instead of as individuals.
All citizens want their right to individuality and for the government to not interfere in their everyday lives. This is not the reality though, as government officials from the local, state and federal levels feel that they know what is best for you, their constituent. Do you know who your district representatives are and how they vote for or against you? Do you understand that your congressmen and senators vote for their affiliated party and not necessarily in your favor?
When was the last time that you researched your elected officials and their voting records? Now is that time, Idaho. Clearly, the path of this country has hit that proverbial fork in the road that leaves us all guessing as to the motives of all officials on all levels. The only way to take back our nation is to educate ourselves, register to vote and make that vote count. Your First District Congressman Raul Labrador on July 11th stated that "Idahoans oppose every aspect of ObamaCare." Is this true, Idaho? And if so, have you actually taken the time to read the entire bill? This election year may very well be the most important in recent memory and it is up to you to not only vote, but vote with confidence. This is not about GOP or Democrat anymore. This is about taking our country back from the liars and thieves that hold personal agendas and pass it off as the will of the people.
Talk for yourselves now, Idaho. Learn the truth from the lies and do not let your officials take your vote and use it for other intentions. The only way to stop this from being a #saddayforusa2012 is to become smarter than the out of touch politicians that refuse to work together to take a bill like the ACA and change it for the better rather than dismantling it because their name was not on it. Hawaii...Do You Need a Change?

Hawaii is made up of a small group of islands that have only 2 congressional districts. It is the birthplace of incumbent President Barack Obama and most likely will send their four electoral votes his way again in 2012. But is that the best answer for your home state? Is Obama a man of his word, or the lame duck POTUS that will only be fought by opposing parties with nothing getting accomplished for four more years?
Whether it is Obama for a second term or Mitt Romney for an initial run at leading our country, we must decide who will be backing that man up in the Senate and the House of Representatives. No POTUS can run this land by himself with the checks and balances in place. Do you know who your Senators and Congressmen are in your state and how they vote for or against you? Have you taken the time to do the research on those that will become your elected officials? Quick refernces and information are at your fingertips. You can always go to http://portal.ehawaii.gov/index.html in order to register to vote, research your representatives and educate yourself on how they use their electoral votes. We, the people must take this opportunity to take back the government by voting wisely and understanding who we are voting into office.
Without this knowledge, all that is left is the mudslinging, lies and misunderstanding that is thrown about in the world of social media. We need to weed out the lies and decide for ourselves what exactly is the truth. A good way to do this would be to visit factcheck.org and learn what the truth really may be. It is okay to want to vote GOP or Democrat as an affiliation, but is that candidate truly the best decision for what your state and this country really needs? Through education as a nation, we may actually be able to reign in our elected officials and let them understand that we want and will force change through the vote.
Your state motto is Ua mau ke ea o kaina i ke pono. which means "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness." Do you actually live by that motto? Do you believe that any of our elected officials live by that and have the best interest in heart for all of their constituents? Well now is the time to test that theory and vote for the righteous of the group. But the only way to find the truth about the candidates is to actually do the research. Certain information that you will be exposed to will most undoubtedly be false and misleading. If you see sites that are not cited and can be referenced, then most likely they will be false.
Look for organizations such as fact check that are not backed or affiliated with any of the parties and will give a fair and factual account about the questions that you may ask. If you want to read the actual healthcare law and see for yourself the facts, you can always visit healthcare.gov and decide for yourself if the law is as bad as Romney is trying to make it. Then you can go to the Romney Powerpoint on Healthcare and see that he, himself was a strong proponent of the same healthcare. You can also read some of my other blogs that cite other articles and fact checked statistics and truths about the candidates.
One thing is for certain though. If you do not take the time to weed out the lies, then your vote will not mean a thing. Do not allow this to be a #saddayforusa2012 with an election of uneducated voters with so much truth and information to be had. Register and vote, Hawaii. But use your vote wisely because this could be a very long four years if you do not. Your country needs you now, just as it needs all states to stand up for economic growth and stability and the only ones who can make that change are us, the people of this great nation.

Georgia...Do You Need a Change?

Georgia residents, are you ready for the upcoming election in November? Do you realize that all 435 seats in the House of Representatives are open for re-election? Do you also understand that 13 of those representatives come from the peach state? This year will be remembered for so much backlash and mudslinging about which party is telling the public the truth and which one is merely trying to bewitch the voters by double-talk and unfounded lies.
This is not a plea to vote one way or the other, GOP or Democrat. This is simply a call for educational voting so this country can weed out the politicians that do not have the best interest of this country at heart. You will be plastered with news, both right and wrong about our healthcare system that was put into place by all three branches of government and the thirty-three attempts by republicans to repeal the ACA bill. You will learn of the hiding of personal finances and taxes by Mitt Romney along with the lack of production of Barack Obama as President. It is now time to weed out the truth and the lies. It is now time to take back the country as educated voters who not only know the name of their representative and Senator, but understand how they vote for you as a district and a state.
It is easy to see the television ads and signs and hear the speeches from the presidential candidates. Understand that neither major party is capable of doing their due diligence to the post without having those behind him or her to allow change. Our system is built and will always remain on checks and balances. No GOP or Democratic POTUS will ever be able to fulfill their duties with constant friction from the other party. That is why the public must take the vote back and force these politicians to stop outsourcing jobs, fix our educational system and build the infrastructure of the American way.
Do you realize that if you look at the world literacy rate according to the CIA World Factbook, the U.S. is ranked 28th behind countries such as Uzbekistan, Samoa and Latvia? Andorra is number 1 on the list with a 100% literacy rate. Since the 1960's when the federal government got more involved with education, we have slowly declined, even though we pay one of, if not the highest per student rates in the world. Our government is failing us as we move into an extremely important election year. Go to your state website, Georgia.gov and register to vote, but make it count. By researching your district or state representatives, Senators and local officials, you will allow change to happen. You will come across certain politicians that have been in office for 20 or 30 years because your state does not have term limits.
How "in touch" with society could someone be that has held a public seat for 20 years and quite possibly has gotten elected on name recognition only for the past ten because the citizens have not bothered to vote in any election besides the presidential election. We must take back our vote. Do not allow your representatives to use their electoral votes on anyone you do not want in office. It remains very easy to get caught up in not knowing the facts but there are always ways to find out. Here are a couple of links for each candidate that must be seen and read by all. There is only one way to alleviate this nation from the underhandedness of government and their personal agendas while in charge of the country. Florida...Do You Need a Change?

The state of Florida has been confronted with so much turmoil over the past decade or two especially in the world of the political spectrum. Ever since Ballotgate of 2000, when Al Gore lost all 25 electoral votes in an alleged voter fraud scandal although winning the popular vote, this state just can not decide on a year to year basis what direction is best for its citizens and the nation. Eight years of President Bush led to war, rising unemployment, continuing outsourcing of jobs, an ignored terrorist plot and numerous other cause for concern of the public. Since then, Florida has continued to flip-flop between the two major parties as if playing a game of hot potato.
In this election year 2012, it is imperative that the 25 electoral votes in this state are not only used wisely, but above reproach. Do not allow the same mistakes to continue as the citizens of the sunshine state need to take control of the government once again. In 2008, the state of Florida was on par with the rest of the country as you saw that a change was needed and President Obama was voted into office. The country came together for the first two years and allowed Obama the benefit of a Democratic majority that gave him flexibility to begin the change that was called for by pundits, politicians and the public itself. Then the elections of 2010 came and went and that majority dwindled and succumbed to a GOP majority that for two years has scratched, fought and clawed their way into disapproving many of the reform policies that our POTUS put forth.
Now, as the Supreme Court has upheld a national healthcare reform policy that was generated by none other than Mitt Romney himself, the battle continues. Republicans across the boards have attempted 33 repeals of the ACA(Obamacare) for no other reason than their own name was not put on the bill. Do you want facts from the ACA? Do you want to be another in the line of people that want to discredit this bill before they even know the facts? Go to http://www.healthcare.gov/law/full/ and you can actually see that any of the so-called Obamatax is not what the GOP is claiming. Do you want more truth? As a state, your past ten year voting record has changed more than Mitt Romney's date of his tax extension. You were right to vote for change and give your POTUS backing in 2008, but to turn around in the next election and render our leader useless was a poor showing of political knowledge. This country needs a strong, honest, and transparent leader who is not afraid to make a mistake or push to move forward. Yet, there is another in line to unseat him that refuses to allow the citizens of this country see a mere tax return. A POTUS that hides his personal life from the public should never be trusted again. We need you Florida. We need you to not only use your electoral votes rationally, but also to seat House Representatives, Senators and any others that will help our POTUS, not hurt him as he pushes towards the change this country needs and deserves.

Yes, we should all trust in our God, no matter the name, but just as important, we need to trust in ourselves to do what is right for ourselves, our neighbor and our nation by not allowing the lies and deceit to rupture our last threads of dignity. Is Matt Harvey The Answer For The Mets?

Dillon Gee is another in a line of injuries for this 2012 Mets team that just keeps finding ways to win. After losing Mike Pelfrey to Tommy John surgery earlier in the year(Mets fans probably forgot about Big Pelf), the rotation seemed a little unassuming given that John Niese and Dillon Gee were good, but not great starters and nobody knew what they would get out of Johann Santana coming off shoulder surgery of his own. Then there was the mystery of the Kilimanjaro-climbing R.A. Dickey and how he would grow as a pitcher with a powerless lineup behind him. The injury to Chris Young earlier this season also put a lot of doubts in most minds, while having only 41 year old Miguel Batista as a fall guy.
Welcome to the NY Mets 2012 season everyone! This staff proven that they can pitch with the best of them as Santana has become the number one he used to be, pitching the first no-hitter in club history and Dickey has clearly made a name for himself as one of the top hurlers in the game with a wickedly unhittable knuckler that has left opposing batters clueless. So as Dillon Gee goes down with having surgery to remove a blood clot from his shoulder, all fans are calling for the Next, triple A phenom Matt Harvey. Why the big rush to call up a pitcher that can only benefit by a few more AAA starts to fine tune his game? This is the mystery that leaves one shaking their head.
Harvey needs to relax, calm down and hone his skills while waiting for his chance in the big leagues. Batista can be a viable starter for three or four turns, as long as the Mets bullpen gets a lot of rest in between. Although Harvey could probably be a contributor now, Sandy Alderson should bide his time while waiting for the doctors to complete their assessment of Gee and give a definitive timeline for his return. Clearly, the stats are there, but will Alderson and Collins be taking a tremendous risk in calling up a future star now by possibly damaging his psyche if he has a couple bad outings? I believe they would and it would be wiser for the fan base to look at it just this way. The time needs to be right for pitchers such as Harvey, Jeurys Familia, and later down the road, Zach Wheeler.
Fans would love to see their Next right now, but do not realize the damage that could be done by not showing patience. And there remains one thing that Mets fans should know just as well as the next fan, and that is patience. Fans have been waiting for quite some time to see and experience an exciting team in Flushing. These young kids that most scouts around the majors believed was one of the worst farm systems around has clearly proven that they belong in the majors. Maybe Omar Minaya knew what he was doing all along. It is time now for the fans to enjoy the second half as they did the first: ride the wave and leave the decisions to management. Allow Johann, R.A., Niese and Young to do what they have been doing to keep their team in the games, and hope that Alderson makes a move or two at the deadline to improve the bullpen and acquire a right-handed power bat(not named Bay).
This is what will allow the fans to enjoy what has been so far a magical season to date. There will be time enough for the Harvey's and the Wheeler's of the system to break onto this major league club and win the hearts of fans as well as some ballgames. To rush Harvey now would only be giving into the notion that the time is now for a club that is only hovering around the final wild card spot and remains 4.5 games back in their division at the break. The time is not now. This is not a World Series winning team, although nobody can deny that in the weak NL, you can completely exclude them from possibly making the World Series. Relax everyone, you will see Harvey soon enough. Just remember that you must have faith and trust in the way that Alderson is going to run this team. Do not let the magic swell your heads to make rash decisions. As fans the only motto you will ever be able to live by is simply, "You Gotta Believe." Delaware, that small parcel of land that is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean just south of N.J. and north of Maryland has largely been a forgotten player in the world of the political spectrum. Your fine state has a way of making the most out of your three electoral votes when it comes to the presidential elections. Clearly, your fine state has taken a legitimate stance when it comes to voting Democratic for quite some time. Although Joe Biden resided in your state, it is hard to believe that you voted Democratic for no other reason than to change the nation that former President Bush had left. Dickey Gets Screwed

It's bad enough that, as Sandy Alderson put it on Twitter, that a city of 8 million was outvoted by a city of 800,000 when Pablo Sandoval won the starting spot over David Wright in this years All-Star Game in Kansas City. But when you have a pitcher that has been far above the rest of the pack as R.A. Dickey has, it is virtually impossible to fathom him not getting the starting nod over Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants in 2012. What Tony LaRussa is thinking is beyond everyone when it comes to choosing his starter. The only answer he can give is that Cain is every bit as deserving and he will be pitching to his own catcher, Buster Posey, who I might even mention should most likely not even be starting himself.
Dickey, whose stats in all categories are better than anyone's in the National League has definitely been screwed by LaRussa and his shallow thinking. Dickey's stats include a 12-1 record while supporting 123 strikeouts, a 2.40 ERA, and a miserly 0.93 WHIP. Just a few short weeks ago, Dickey had back to back one hitters and was incredibly unhittable as batters wailed and fluttered at his perfected knuckleball. Do not get me wrong, Matt Cain and his 9-3 record, 118 strikeouts, 2.62 ERA and 0.96 WHIP are very formidable when having to make a decision. But there has been nobody on any team in either league who has been absolutely sparkling on the mound as R.A. has while pitching for a team that is dead last in OPS and is tied for 13th in batting average.
While the All-Star game means something at the end of the year, one would figure that LaRussa would love to start with a knuckler like Dickey for two innings then transition to a hard thrower as Cain for the next two. The idea that Posey, or any catcher for that matter, would have trouble catching Dickey, is all the more reason to start him. It would be far better to have a couple of passed balls at the beginning(if that is even the case) while there are no runners on, then later with the possibility of an incredible AL All-Star lineup that includes the like of Cano, Granderson, Fielder, Ortiz and Hamilton circling the bases. This remains just another in a long line of questionable moves that LaRussa has made throughout his career and, although he has a few rings on his hand, it doesn't make the decision any easier to handle in the N.Y. market.

Mets fans finally have two All-Stars that they can be purely proud of, and in the end, still feel jaded at the selection process and a managers decision that leaves millions of fans scratching their heads. R.A. Dickey will never allow the decision to affect him in any way, as it is surely a welcome just for him to be representing the NL in his first All-Star game. The man who swam across the Mississippi and nearly drowned, climbed Kilimanjaro, and grew up amidst child abuse would never allow LaRussa's snub to unfocus his center. But be sure of this, R.A.Dickey will come out of this All-Star break more focused than ever. Dickey does not portray a man that likes to be screwed, although he will never show it. So, even though Mets fans may disagree with you, Tony, maybe we should thank you for given our knuckler just another reason to rise against the odds. Possibly, this decision may turn out to be the one to allow the fans the enjoyment of a CY Young Award winner when all is said and done. Then Mets fans can turn around and say, "screw you, LaRussa!"

Connecticut...Do You Need a Change?

This country is on the verge of one of the most difficult decisions an election year has imposed on its citizens. We are a humbled nation that has been amidst a terrible run of high unemployment, incredulous debt, and bi-partisan war on what is truly the best for us as citizens. Where did this catastrophe begin, and how does it end should be first and foremost in every Americans mind. Will we allow our children to inherit a broken down shell of a country because our elected officials decided that personal gain and notoriety are more important than truth and value? Do we need to wait until we are on the verge of being a third world country in order to educate ourselves and rid the nation of the hopeless infighting amongst the major parties?
It is time Connecticut to register, educate yourself, then vote with authority in all levels of your government. All 435 seats in the US House of Representatives are up for re-election this year, as well as some Senators, and of course, the POTUS. You, as a state, have done a fine job in your state house, as well as in your US representatives to allow some backing to the current POTUS. You need to still cast your next vote wisely, though, as the challenger, Mitt Romney is trying to buy his election through smoke, mirrors, and lies. Colorado is and always has been a swing state that can make a difference with their 9 electoral votes that are up for grabs. Today is the day that our forefathers believed would live in infamy. The day that our country was fought for, and won by us, the American people who saw an opportunity to better a life for all as individuals. On this day, in 1776, a document written by Thomas Jefferson was adopted by our leaders as The Declaration of Independence. This was our declaration to separate our colonies from Britain and their monarchy. Eleven years later, our nations delegates provided a system of checks and balances in the form of a three branch government consisting of executive, legal and legislative branches to ensure that no one person would be able to rule. This system, while not perfect, has been the basis of our country since, and has clearly given its citizens an opportunity for freedom. As the nation has grown, this system has given rise to many individuals vying for the same political seats with very different ideas on how this government should be enacted for the benefit of the people.
Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party candidates, Independents, and any other political party that has surfaced are so far apart on the issues that it is almost impossible to put into place a government that has the public's interest at heart. Who do we believe anymore? Where is the dignity and truth that elected officials need to put forth in order for the citizens of this great country to choose the right candidate for the job? Simply put, there is none. Mitt Romney was the creator of the national healthcare reform that President Obama has now put into place. Yet, because it was Obama and not himself, his platform must dispute, ridicule and delude the public into believing that it is nothing more than a tax on America. Politicians can no longer agree even to disagree and have put themselves in the position to never get along and this is where the public must be weary.
When you register to vote this year, and head to the polls, ask yourself these questions before you place your ballot. Has my elected representative voted on my behalf during his/her term? Have they been truthful with the constituents on laws, referendums, and their personal history? Does this representative or senator want to change the country or is he/she running for personal gain? If you are the type of person that is content with the way this country is being run today, then hopefully you will look further and educate yourself BEFORE this election in November. This may be one of the most important elections to date in this country and you are needed to cast a ballot that will determine a substantial upswing or downward spiral for this country. Find out how they vote for you, and if they are right for the change that is needed in this nation. Do not let this next vote be the one that got away. Obama needs help as a POTUS, and if Romney gets elected, he will need help as well. The POTUS can not do it by himself.

California...Do You Need a Change?

California, land of the gold rush of 1848-1855, home to Hollywood and its' tremendous stars, and some of the most progressive, free thinkers in the world. The state in which sets precedent, as opposed to following others. Your motto of 'Eureka!', meaning "I have found it" is exactly what your settlers had done in the late 1800's. You found the land that would become the entertainment capital of the world and give birth to many precocious and trend-setting laws that would not only shock the nation(eg. legalizing marijuana), but allow other states to follow.
For all of the state of California's assets, it is truly amazing to try and understand the political life of your representatives and senators. In this election year 2012, ask yourself as a voter if your elected officials have truly voted on your behalf and have your best interests at heart. As a prominently Democratic state with your liberal laws, it is astounding to see the life expectancy of a representative in your state is at least 16 years. The state of California has 53 districts, of which 38 of those districts have representatives that have served you for 10 years or more.
20 of your representatives have been serving your districts for more than 20 year, while six of them have been in the same seat for more than 30 years. Is it time for a change, California? It may very well be time, as the ACA(Obamacare) is being criticized and mocked for being a Democratic tool, although it was a Republican brainchild, to research your representatives and find out just what kind of elected official they are and how they vote for you. Above The Law--Hold NJ Troopers Accountable!!

NJ State Troopers are not having a very good year so far in 2012. It is absolutely outrageous, as a citizen of this state, that the code of Duty, Honor, Fidelity of our supposed heroes is laid waste by the many unlawful acts that they have been committing. Now I am sure there are many trustworthy, hardworking and honest officers that are serving the law, but it is disgraceful that the bad officers are allowed to get away without more than a slap on the wrist. Riddled by the catastrophe that was deemed "Death Race 2012" earlier this year when officers were escorting a caravan of cars in a high speed race down the Garden State Parkway, which involved then running back of the NY Giants, Brandon Jacobs, now another officer has admitted to stealing over $7000 worth of gas.
This is your taxes at work New Jersey!! Staff Sgt. Steven M. Jones, 25 years on the trooper force, not only stole the gas that OUR taxes pay for, but was given a plea agreement from Internal Affairs to retire with 50% of his pay instead of 65% and all he lost was his medical benefits. Unfortunately for most in this state, that theft would have translated into at least four years in prison, a felony on their record and no pension. It is appalling that this is allowed to happen. Police officers are in place to uphold the law, not circumvent it for their own gain and the gain of their families, then walk away with a smile on their face.
Jones claimed in his hearing that he abused alcohol and did not always follow his treatment program and had incurred a lot of debt which ultimately led to his theft. I do believe that seems to be the same excuse that many criminals use in their defense and it is usually left to a judge to determine a penalty for breaking the law, not a retirement board. Jones should have been charged and left to face the system like all others that he has had to arrest for 25 years. What gives him the right to be above the law? The unlawful practice of those that should be upholding the laws in this state are beyond reprehensible and they are not being held accountable.

Good thing for the new ACA, now Jones will be able to afford quality healthcare at a good price while making $50,000 a year in retirement instead of $1.35 a day in one of the states fine correctional facilities.
Theft is theft, no matter who you may be in life. Many people have legitimate addiction disorders and could have been given the benefit of the doubt instead of rotting away in a penitentiary. But, I guess when you have the law on your side, then you are not labeled a criminal, but just a poor decision-maker. Chris Christie has to investigate further and let his Troopers understand that this will not be tolerated. The only way to do this is treating them as citizens, not as someone who is Above The Law!!

Absolutely RA-DICKULOUS!!!

This is the last image an opposing batter sees before flailing and fluttering at one of the most wickedly ridiculous pitches major league baseball has ever seen. Conventional knucklers like Niekro, Hough, Wakefield and the lot had great movement on a hard to hit pitch that came in at 60 to 70 miles per hour. After a couple of innings it was possible to "catch up" to those knuckleballs, draw some walks, and get a few runs on the board. There is nothing conventional, though, about this knuckleball pitcher that commands the mound for the New York Metropolitans. This knuckleball pitcher, the one who wears #43, is the only pitcher who has ever been able to control the knuckleball. Not only control it, but throw it harder and more consistent in the strike zone at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.
This knuckleballer is none other than R.A. Dickey. The man who nearly drowned swimming across the Mississippi river. The man who climbed Kilamanjaro. The man who has found inner peace in the most unpeaceful pitch known to baseball. R.A. has become one with the knuckler and there does not seem to be any way to stop him, let alone get consistent hits off of him. R.A. sits amongst the best that are in the game today with a 12-1 record, 2.15 ERA, 116 strikeouts and a microscopic WHIP of 0.88. What do these numbers mean? That R.A. will most likely be starting the All-Star game for the NL and he is on a roll to possibly win 26 games this year. Add this tremendous pitching and the fact that the Mets scrappy players are scoring runs for him and you have an almost impossible hill to climb for an opposing team not named the Yankees.

R.A. has 2 one-hitters already this year, one of which should have been a no-no, with 2 complete games and a strikeout to walk ratio that is incredible at 116-25. I've seen Wakefield and other knucklers over the years and never has one been so dominant over a 16 game stretch that Dickey is on. Is it impossible to dream for a Mets fan that this may be the year that we have been waiting for since 2000? Johann Santana has already given us the first no-no in the teams history and now Dickey seems as if this is the reincarnation of Seaver. For a man with such a troubled past as Dickey has, he has seemingly come to grips with an area of his life that most will never figure out for themselves. He has clearly taken his turmoil and found what will work for him and translated that into his professional career as a pitcher.
Now Mets fans can only watch and wonder in amazement as hitters look absolutely dumbfounded and shake their head in amazement as they walk back to the dugout. They are now victims to a pitch that is incredibly RA-DICKULOUS to hit and even harder to understand. The Mets fans are enjoying this ride into the All-Star break relishing the fact that Dickey is one of their own and not the opponent. Believe!! Mets fans. This is going to be an Amazin' year as we watch this determined group of ballplayers led by the most dominant of knucklers the sport has ever seen.

     Do you, Arkansas, grasp the fact that the American people need to take back our country, but have been going about it in the wrong fashion? For decades we have elected a POTUS based on the platform he has provided and promises he has not kept. Well now is the time to change that path of destruction that has led to this sad predicament we reside in as citizens of what is supposed to be the greatest country in the world. As you can see by the above Gallup poll, numbers for both republicans and democrats are in the tank. The only way to change the direction of our government is to start voting from bottom to top. The POTUS, being Obama, or possibly Romney, need the backing of the House and Senate in order to carry out their promises and be the leader they have set out to be. No POTUS can survive as a lame duck and that is exactly what Obama has become. He has been fought tooth and nail and bashed on so many issues that there is no possibility of change. Arizona 2012...Do You Need a Change?

The House of Representatives elections for your great state of Arizona is coming upon you very quickly. This is the time of year that with the primaries coming up on August 28th and the elections close behind, many decisions must be made. I applaud your voters for having a relatively new House of Representatives compared to the first two states I've researched. No representative has been in office for more than seven years, and that is just a handful. Most have only served one term and now is the time to look back at their voting past and decide if they have been doing the right thing by you, the constituents.
You, as voters, decided to vote Republican across the board in the 2008 election in hopes of gaining an advantage to help your hopeful presidential candidate, John McCain. Now another decision lies ahead. Alabama 2012...Do You Need a Change?

After researching and looking at the numbers, I must say that even as a state as set in their ways as Alabama is, I was astounded by the results. As we head into this election of 2012, we, as citizens, must realize that change will never come from the politicians themselves, but from the power of the people. Our votes do have an impact on the direction of this country, contrary to popular belief. By electing the same individuals, or different individuals with the same morals and principles as the last, we are merely repeating the definition of insanity. We, as the people whom our politicians are supposed to represent, need to take control back and let our elected officials be held accountable.

Alabama is one of the good ole' boys of the south that takes great pride in who they are as a people. The motto of your state says all that anyone needs to know about the state you call home. Audemus jura nostra defendre clearly notes that "We Dare Defend Our Rights." You live by this motto and forever will defend all that you hold dear. Yet, for all that is within your borders, you remain a piece of the great American puzzle that needs your assistance. The other residents of this amazing country need you to focus on this and all future elections for not only yourselves, but your neighbors and your countrymen.

Do the great citizens of Alabama understand that this country as a whole needs change? Do the great citizens of this state realize that it may not be left to the doings of the current POTUS, or the next, to shape and mold our country into the nation that we need to be? Have you noticed that currently there are 49 out of your 105 representatives that have resided within your House for a decade or more? 20 of those House representatives have been in office for over two decades, while 10 of them have been voting on your behalf for more than 3 decades. In order to change this nation and offer a chance to our next POTUS, being Obama or Romney, don't you think that the lawmakers and representatives that supposedly work for you are doing their job. Do these elected officials share the same moral and ethical values that you teach in your own home. Are the incumbents in office running unopposed for various reasons(I will leave those reasons to your own devices)? Have you, as voters, taken the time to research the representatives that are on the ballot, or are you voting on name recognition alone? Alaska, 2012...Do You Need a Change?

As promised in my last blog, I am on a mission to educate voters as to the need for change in this country. Everyone seems, as always, to be caught up on only the election of the next POTUS, without giving that POTUS the necessary aid he may need to help this country prosper. It lies within the lawmakers and representatives that stand behind or against the principles, values and direction of the POTUS that will lead this country for the next four years. Do not be mistaken, it is not the POTUS that is in control of our government and our future in this great country. It is not the POTUS that can lead us out of, or deeper into, this recession. That discretion lies within the representatives and lawmakers that oversee our districts and vote, supposedly how we want them to vote, and give or reject the leadership of the next POTUS. Do you want a change? Then you must educate yourself and make your vote count.
In Alaska, there are forty districts comprising at this point of about one hundred individuals that will be heading into the August 28th primaries to determine the candidates for the republican and democratic parties. Alaska, since 1996 has seen the republican party as the majority within their House of Representatives. There are questions that an individual must answer for themselves before going to the polls and counting their vote. Does the representative that I will be voting for share my core beliefs and values? Have I taken the time to research the candidates that are running for my district and understand how they will vote in my favor? Has the incumbent in my district voted the way that serves my best interest as a citizen? These are just a few questions that are imperative to answer before you cast your ballot in your August primary and in the November election.

Have you taken the time to research and find out just how he is representing your state for the past forty years? It is incredible to think that the people of the state of Alaska have just been electing an individual based on a name alone. Alaska's state motto is North to the Future and represents your beautiful state as a land of promise. Take a good hard look at your representatives this year and determine how they can best serve yourself as well as your POTUS. Will they afford Obama or Romney the respect that they deserve as POTUS. Will they help instead of hinder the direction our great leader wants to advance our country? In the coming months, there are going to be many decisions made as to the direction this country needs to head in order to solve our many issues. On the table are the usual debates as to healthcare, economy, jobs and taxes and americans will be hard pressed to actually find a solution within any presidential candidate. In fact, if you look back over just the past fifty years, no matter who resides in the oval office, GOP or Democrat, all of our problems have never been solved. You can never please every person that lives in our great country...it is impossible. But how do we go about making feasible changes that can allow the rich, middle, and poor classes get the most out of our politicians that "serve" their constituents?
The answer can only lie in the education of voters to understand that while having a POTUS that is respectable, knowledgeable, hard-working, truthful and caring for the citizens, even the most powerful man in the world has checks and balances. The POTUS needs to balance his ideals and political ambitions alongside other men and women that don't necessarily share the same direction that he wants to take the country. Our POTUS, no matter what party he belongs to, simply needs help. That is where the citizens, you and me, need to educate ourselves about the men and women who belong to our House of Representatives. These 435 seats must be filled on November 6th. These 435 seats vote in all districts of every state, for you, the citizen of that district. So many of these seats have been filled by the same representatives for two or more decades without reproach.
These are the very same men and women who will tell you, the citizen, that they know what is best for your district and state as a whole. These are the very same individuals that challenge most presidents and the changes they want to make, based on the premise that it is what you, the constituent want. These representatives are out of touch and bow only to the wealthy and their donations(bribes). Education is the only way to change the direction of this country. If you are sick of how your state and country are run, there is only one way to change. Register to vote and make that vote count. Possibly the only way to start a change in this great country is to vote out ALL incumbents and start fresh with those men and women who are not out of touch with society.
In the upcoming two months, I will be previewing all states and their representative elections and showing guides on what to look for and how to educate yourself for the most important election in recent history. Not the presidential election itself, but the ballots that need to be cast in order for the president, be it Obama or Romney, to have a chance at making change for all people of the nation. Just remember that your vote does count, if you use it wisely. Do not let this be a #saddayforusa2012. Help our country prosper instead of continuing this tailspin we have been in for nearly a decade.

Title IX and its Rhetorical Farce

In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Civil Rights Act, which eliminated segregation and discrimination in many areas of life, although mainly intended for African-Americans in this country. Titles IV and VII are inherently known for their failure to address sex discrimination in the academic environment, even though Title VII did add ‘sex’ to its vernacular when discriminated against in the workplace. These two provisions and their possible oversight of sex discrimination in schools led to the passing of The Higher Education Act of 1972: most notably Section 1681. The general wording of what came to be known as Title IX leaves no doubt that Congress was aiming to prevent sex discrimination and exclusion of women within any institution that receives Federal financial aid. The Title IX provision was a vague outlet that gave women the opportunity for acceptance and equal rights in all aspects of their education. Section 1681 of the Educational Amendments is a law that has been carefully, and expertly, interpreted by women, even though it does not promote gender equality in any sport, let alone college sports; in reality, nothing is farther than the truth.
Where the Civil Rights Act of 1964 failed to desegregate the sexes, the Title IX provision accomplishes this goal by clearly (or maybe not so clearly) stating, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." ). This simply worded law, so generally applied to education, has, because of two words, changed the landscape of women’s intercollegiate sports. ‘Program or activity’, as clarified in Section 1687, incurs all operations of colleges, universities, and other institutions, and reiterates compliance with Section 1681. The law aimed to end sex discrimination in college admissions and academic subjects, yet actually defined sports as a sex-specific activity, without naming the term. It is in this interpretation that all colleges and universities must offer equal sports options for women that are in proportion with enrollment in the school and men’s programs.

The words, educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance, turned out to be the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg for women’s sports across the nation. Congress left that opening to interpret at a later time if the situation were to arise, as in athletics. Fortunately for women, they not only challenged, but won the right to include sports as part of Title IX when the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, in 1975, put regulations into law to expand Section 1681 in regards to athletics and their departments.

Title IX advocates never considered the questions and issues that would arise from the possibility of women’s sports interpreted as an educational program or activity. While no language in the original Section 1681 declares gender equality in college sports specifically, Title IX has become a useful tool towards securing equal rights for women to have the same opportunities as men in all areas of education. The rhetorical farce that was the issue of sports in the 1970’s clearly did not want to change the landscape of its college athletic programs, therefore, when Title IX was pushed into law, sports was not mentioned in the text. Yet, for those two simple words, women had the ability to interpret and present their version of what the law did not intend to promote; gender equality in college sports. It was merely up to women to broaden the scope of language, define its meaning, and fight for inclusion into an arena that was once closed because of sex.

Forty years later, the arguments over whether college sports have improved because of Title IX can

forever be debated. It is a known fact that men’s collegiate football carries most of the financial

responsibility for college athletic departments. Women’s basketball has made strides into supporting their

athletic programs, but it is still not enough. College sports would have thrived with or without Title IX and its later regulations on sex equality in sports. Yes, the women’s softball, soccer, and basketball teams have produced some of the best players in the world in their respective sports, but it can never be proven if women’s inclusion in college sports via Title IX has made college athletics any better. This remains an individual assessment based on personal views of those who want to challenge the question. But applause is necessary for those women who had the foresight to not only challenge the law and its hidden meaning, but to manipulate it and utilize it for generations to come.

The Heat Is On

For nine years, he has been the Next. The one to inherit the throne from Michael and those that came before him. Throughout those nine years, he has been ridiculed and bashed by those that expected him to just waltz into the NBA and take control. I have been one of those that has laughed at him as he was swept by the Spurs and lost in six to the Mavericks. As Kobe kept winning championships and given the label of closer, all who watched just snickered at the boy who was waiting to become a man and hoist is own trophy. Three MVPs and three finals appearances later, the man that calls himself King James has now reached the pinnacle of his sport.
Throughout these finals against an incredibly talented Thunder team, LeBron had the look of a madman, a psychopath waiting to pounce on his prey. That look never faded from the opening tip of the first game to the final seconds as the clock hit zero. There was no mistaking that LeBron would hoist his trophy and claim the MVP of the series. James' numbers were incredible in this series as they culminated into a triple-double in game five. He can now, at least for this offseason, claim his throne as the king.
Now all of the claims that are putting him in Michaels' company are starting to surface. This is just absolutely absurd. The Great One, the best that has ever played the game, the one and only Michael is not to be confused with anyone in the game today. LeBron is not even in the company of Kobe at the moment considering that Kobe has five rings. Let King James win a couple more before putting him in anybody's company that has come before him. LeBron is clearly the most talented player in the league at this time. LeBron clearly is going to be a force to be reckoned with for many years. But let's calm down with the Michael talk for a few years so we can see if King James has a few more runs in him.
There are so many great individual players that the NBA has seen and we are witnessing the next handful of possible all-time greats in this era. But to put any player in Jordans' company is absolutely insane. Not LeBron, not Duncan, not even Kobe(who is probably closest) should be crowned the next MJ. Congratulations to LeBron for getting his first, he is well deserving. The league may have quite a finals rivalry brewing with the Heat and Thunder over the next few years and this will be incredible to watch unfold. But until LeBron wins at least another couple of championships, lets just enjoy the look, and the outstanding highlights that he creates on the boards, in the lane, and on ESPN.

The Second Mile--Sandusky's Enablers

Standing stoic and indifferent in front of the panel of jurors, Jerry Sandusky learned his fate for the rest of is life. Forty-five out of forty-eight counts were returned guilty and he will now spend the minimum of sixty years behind bars and most likely the majority of those years in solitary confinement. Yet, there are no winners in this very heinous account of real life which was hidden within the confounds of the game of football and the hope of a charity organization that was nothing more than a hunting ground.
Sandusky was the defensive coordinator and heir apparent to the legendary head coach, Joe Paterno. Penn St. was a legendary program under the two, better known as Linebacker U. Now we realize that Sandusky was nothing more than a monster using his power and genius to lure young boys into an insular community that turned its back on the most abhorrent of crimes to our nations youth. Sandusky is a sick and twisted individual that most likely could not have helped his sexual urges. Yet there was no reason why his wife, JoePa, Spanier, Curley, McQueary or any other person within that society that knew of is sickness could not of gotten him help instead of covering up his revolting acts.
Where the hell was the integrity of a program that lasted sixty years under what one was led to believe to be the most genuine of men in JoePa? Where was Dottie, the wife of forty-five years, who turned her back as children screamed for help from their basement? Why did McQueary just turn his back and walk out of that shower in 2002 instead of using his size and strength to stop the atrocious act he had witnessed? What the hell is wrong with society today that a major investigation in 1998 on one of the most well-known campuses in the country is allowed to be sealed and covered up, when even the Freedom of Information Act cannot view its details.
Jerry Sandusky should never be allowed to witness daylight again after the abominable acts he has committed, we know that as decent human beings. But it is the ones who walked beside him, the ones who allowed him to continue on the campus of Penn St. long after he "retired" that should follow him to the gates of hell where JoePa is waiting to take them to their destiny. Sandusky, no matter who will agree (or will admit it), has a disease that unfortunately cannot be healed or detected beforehand in order to prevent it from surfacing. Sandusky is the worst monster that could ever be born and should have a far worse fate than living in a cell for the rest of his life. I cannot even venture to explain what should be done to that man for the unspeakable acts that he has done to those innocent young boys that trusted him.
The ones who stood beside him, covered up his actions, and tried to mask his deeds to protect the image of Penn St. should not be ignored. Those people are just as atrocious as the one who stood before the jurors yesterday as each count was brought down. With the first mile behind us (the passing of JoePa and conviction of Sandusky), it is now time to walk that second mile and indict the very ones who enabled this predator to do is deeds. Nobody wins in this situation: not the boys who were molested, not the families that have been crushed by the crimes, not the university whose image was destroyed, or any individual involved in this atrocity. There may never be an end to the healing process for anyone. But one thing is for sure, if you walked that mile with Sandusky, there is always someone waiting at the end of your road to take you in the direction that you will spend eternity: only JoePa, Dottie, Spanier, Curley, McQueary and any other enablers know which direction they will head.
