I have always been fascinated with Blood type. I remembered when I was in secondary school; we used to read blood type characteristics to better understand friends, enemies and myself. To my amusement, it is quite accurate.

I just had a chat with a friend from Singapore, a University maid of mine from Australia. She has always been troubled by her weight problem. Drooling over handsome hunks and constant effort trying to tackle them with no results. She told me she had since loose 30kg in 3 months. I was like “WTF? What did u do?”

“Blood type diet,” she replied coolly.

I have since bought Blood Type A book for my own consumption, my intention is not to loose weight but to be cautious of not to put on weight and stay healthy knowing what food is good and what food is extremely harmful for my blood type.

Can you believe it that Blood Type A's ancestor is vegan? All this while I was quite in tune with my ancestry root as I tried to eat more vegies and less meat. And blood type A do poorly on diary product, I have always not fascinated with milk that tend to make me nauseatic. I can find all the answers in this book.

Knowing what kind of food to prepare for my blood type O’s daughter and A’s son is easier now.

As a Chinese, I grew up believing that the number “4” is not a very good number, in fact it’s bad luck. In buildings, number 4 will be changed to No. 3A. House number 44 will be changed to 43A. Car number plate of 44 can only be seen carried by other races, not Chinese. The number ‘4’ in Chinese –Cantonese/Mandarin/ Hokkien/Hakka means “死death.”

However, all over the world, you can see some minority of wealthy Chinese carried the number 4 in everything - car number plate, house number, office address, phone number so on and so forth. The question is, if it’s death or bad luck for them, how did they accumulate so much wealth?

That made me curious. I started researching about the science of numbers. It leads me to numerology. She pen down all these details in a writing book. She started calculating the combination of my name and numbers. She said, everyone is born with a destined number, it’s just like your identity card, and you have it for life. It follows you the moment you were born. I nodded.

“Huh?” I was a bit stunt, disbelieve. Get a car number plate with “combination of “4 and 1.” I was already shaking my head violently at that point. She mentioned a few more things. She also said that people with lifeline of 4 usually love number 8 and number 8 is bad for them, she uttered.

I was thinking, what if it’s true that these are all the good things that I have missed out?

Later, I told hubby about all that and guess what? He scolded me and asks me to forget about those stupid things. Feeling unhappy after getting scolded but had no choice other than trying to forget about it but deep down inside me, I wanted to try.

Few weeks later, I embraced the newly added character in my numerology name Doris help calculated. I got a few jobs offer. I took the one with better benefits and nearest to home. And one thing lead to another, I am getting my new car; my new office is located on level 3A. (4). I wanted a car number plate that is combination of 4 and 1. Husband refused but he bet on magnum (lotto) and to my and his own surprise, the number 4 and 1 strike and he won some money. He decided to pay for the customised number.

Oh dear, a circular white pointy patch there, I touched it. OMG! New teeth sprouting out behind his healthy baby teeth at the bottom of his front teeth.
"It's gonna be so ugly, new teeth has no space to grow, they grew behind, let's go see the dentist."

Daddy brought him to the dentist this morning. He was worried and horrified but getting used to it well.

Wild Child

It was an agitating night and morning for me. First, boy was delaying his usual task before going to bed and in the morning, he was playing water in the sink while his sister was waiting for him to be shuffled to school in the car.

This sparked a voice inside my head, “What can I do to change his behaviour?” He is interested in TV, games, toys and anything else but study.

As a fulltime-working mum, it can be quite tired after a whole day of work. Dragging my tired and at times stress mind to study with him can be overwhelming as he needed to be called upon many times before he is willing to move his body to the study room.

Worried, I searched the net for my former teacher Dr. Earnest Wong. Yea, I was lucky enough to be trained by him many years back when I was still a college girl. Many people including my own husband do not believe in this kind of workshop or seminar. Hubby thinks it’s for the weak mind. He thinks we get brainwash and would have no help. I think otherwise. It was a turning point in my life having attended his seminar. Call me a believer, it has changed my attitudes towards how to love, believe and trust myself more. My relationship with my parents and siblings improved vastly. I showed more affection to my parents. I know how to plan for what I want and achieve it. I am very optimistic and always believe the “Can do and achieve” attitude. The kind of energy and positive thoughts stays with me for many years. He trained the mind to believe that if you want something badly, there is a way to get it. That kind of force still lingers in me.

I want my son to have that. I need to find a way to send him to seminar like this to ease my burden of bringing him up.

Does your man grow grumpier as he gets older? A friend shared with me over lunch table that her brother-in-law criticise a lot lately, very judgemental and angry. Daily conversations will be filled with petty argument. This is nothing new to me as I have one who reacted that way at home. Sometimes a good day can turn awfully bad due to very minor issue and if I tried arguing, I will get all kinds of crude remarks. So I choose to keep quiet with hope that things will get better and it does get better sometimes but not all the time.

Women has PMS, men has their “WIND” too when they are stress with responsibilities in life. I believe everyone has stress, some people handle it better but some don’t. It also depends on one’s life encounters. Imagine dealing with a stressful Hainanese man...

I don't want to go to school

Last night before going to bed, lil girl told me that she doesn't want to go to school. I thought she was just being manja and tired. This morning, she cried in the car when school approaching. I was quite puzzled and at the same time wondering something must have happened in school.

True enough, when I told the teacher about her story, she explained to me that they were writing in school and she was slow and can't finish her work. As far as I know, the teacher was kind and very loving and knows what she was doing.

I hope lil girl could cope with this and don't be too stress over it. Ivan had the same experience as well but he is doing fine now.

Sometimes, there would be no improvement without tiny bit of stress, guess she just have to cope with it.

My lil boy was getting furious when neither daddy nor me answer to his queries. “I hate this family…” he shouted. Oopss…we stop talking and looked at him.

In the middle of the night, Adel uttered – “What is this? Mummy what is this?” I woke up lazily to on the light and saw her holding Ivan’s hand and slept beside him. “It’s kor kor’s hand dell” I said, she blurrily stepped back to her own bed, which is just beside her brother’s and continue to enjoy her sleep.

She had asked to sleep on her own bed for the past 3 days and so far she slept well, guess she has grown up and decided to give back some privacy and space to her mum and dad after occupying them since her birth.

Time passes by so quickly; she is now entering 3 years 5 months. She sings “ Twinkle twinkle little lamb” not star because her favourite show is Timmy Time. She loves drawing; I kept some of her doodles – quite impressive.

I have been staying at home for almost a week after resigning. Gosh! It's not easy, having to find things to do in a day and stay interested in things is not quite as easy as some thinks. Sri will be leaving for home soon and I will have to take over her position for a month before she comes back. I really do hope that she would be back.

Why is it staying at home makes people lazy? I feel not only lazy but very very very lazy.....there are many things I wanted to do....

After so many times of trying to break free, I realized one thing – you just need time to perfect your skills. Staying at the same spot while absorbing and sharpening your skill may not be a bad thing at all. I love my life, I love my kids and family, and I need to put extra effort into organizing my things. Doing the obvious may not be bad thing at times. At least it is a beginning to a brilliant ending.

Mummy, I dun want bottle

A friend of my told me that her daughter would not drink breastmilk from bottle. She would rather cry and wait for the mother to come back from work and drink direct from the mother's breast. Gosh! Poor baby. Luckily Adel is okay with bottle. I was told by my confinement lady to let her also get use to bottle since young (new born) or else next time she won't want any bottle when I am not around. Phew! Counting my lucky stars.

Do you keep your grocery shopping’s receipt at least for a while before discarding them? I do, in case there is anything wrong, spoil or not up to my expectation, I could return them and get a refund or replacement.

Mr. Ally just got me a box of moon cake from Jusco. He knows I like to eat but because nobody in the house eats, I only buy to give away every year. According to him, he wants to surprise me. But hor only 2 out of 4 I like. I asked him to return and get the one I like. I will write down the name for him. So he goes to the bin and dig out a very crumpled and wet piece of paper. Eeeee…!
