Every now and then, you have moments where you just stop to pause and think about life. Has that happen to you? Because it most certainly has to me. You start to think about things over and over again when you've been fed with new input that makes you think about what do you really know. Or even if what you know is even real or just something that has been passed on to you by the word of mouth?

Lately I've been thinking about is life all about actually. After watching the Social Network, it really got me thinking. Many of these successful people in life are actually rebels in a way. They did not conform to the rules of society and were deemed crazy or failures yet now are raking in the billions if not millions. Now we call them geniuses but what do we say about people when they want to try out their ideas?

Education today has actually retarded our growth in thinking in my opinion. How many of us still study solely because we find the subject intriguing and not because we have to pass an exam? Has education and the process of learning turned into something so dull that we're unconsciously being reduced to a mere photostat machine and not the great minds we truly are?

One thing in life that is certain is that life is uncertain. Out of all the factors that we can't control there is still one most important factor that we can and do have full control over, ourselves. Trying to change someone is as hopeless as trying to get the world to stop producing carbon emissions simply because there isn't enough incentives for them to do so. Therefore, what we can do is actually change ourselves to suit the environment around us. We have the choice of going after whatever we want in life. Want to be a master chef? Learn how to cook and practice perfectly everyday. Same goes with studies I suppose. Most of us HAVE the choice of scoring in all examinations but we CHOOSE not to and give excuses that we don't have enough time, I'm too busy, etc....

Truth be told, we are all just hiding behind lies and excuses because we can't face the truth. It's simply much easier to push things aside and hide under the cover of excuses and lies because the fact is, to succeed ain't easy. Anything that I want to achieve is just within my grasp is just a matter of whether I want to achieve want I want in life. I got that from my recent guitar examination, where I was just 2 marks away from a merit. It got me to think, had I put in the hours to actually receive a merit instead of a pass? The answer was a big fat NO. I barely put in 10 hours collectively throughout the year for my guitar examination so I suppose I should be satisfied with a pass but being human, I wanted more. I complained that the examiner was messing with me for denying me those extra 2 marks but did I actually perform to show that I deserved those extra 2 marks. Truly what you sow is what you reap. This is all fine and well in theory but the execution of this knowledge is so difficult that we choose to hide behind excuses or lies to cover up our weakness.

On the note of lying, why do we lie? I think we lie because of our insecurities. Our need to cover up the truth because it is too shameful for us to face. If that is the case, why do so many of us choose to do things that we are most likely to regret in the future. Since we were young we are told to be honest and not lie because lying is bad. Also, it doesn't help that as teens growing up, we see the adult world lie, cheat, steal and kill to gain. The irony is that they are the very people who tell us not to do so but they do it themselves. We can lie about almost anything. After all, the only thing we need to lie is a convincing story with the right body language and presto, you just created another "fact". Unless proven otherwise, your lie could just as well be taken as the complete truth. It really does raise the question of, is anything that we are told true?

I think that's the beauty in life too. The journey of discovering things for your own. For example, if I were to tell that Social Network is the WORSE movie ever produce and the producers and directors should be shot for even putting the film out, you would still out of all curiosity choose to watch the movie even though you have been told otherwise. Be curious about certain things does yield benefits but certain things like intimacy at our teenage years, does the benefits actually outweigh the costs? Even now it may seem that some of us have crossed the line. But do we actually stop to think about the costs? Obviously not! Why you may ask? Namely because in the spur of the moment we give in to what we call our wild side, our desires, our lusts.

I'm pretty sure many people will not agree with on this but who cares because this my point of view and if you didn't question my views, I'd be worried. On the topic of Boy-Girl Relationships (BGR). What is the PURPOSE of entering a BGR when we can't even support ourselves what more our partner? Why even bother going into this? From a rational point of view, it is a complete waste of time and does not yield long term benefits but can cause long term suffering. I'm pretty sure most of you reading this know someone or you yourself is/were in a BGR. Please share with me what is the benefits from a BGR at this age where we can't even support ourselves. I've heard of answers saying, "For experience." But do you really need this "experience" right now? If you do not have this "experience" now, will you drop dead? No. Instead, the world still keeps on spinning regardless if you are or not in a BGR.

Next, I also get answers saying, "Because I'm curious." Granted, we are all curious about it namely because for those that have not been in a BGR it is something that is unknown and the unknown intrigues us. But where do we draw the line between healthy curiosity and the curiosity that killed the cat? Actually the line is very thin so it is very difficult to differentiate them. It's all fun and games if no one gets hurt but in the even that someone does, was it worth it?

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time.

So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and at what rate are they leaving.

I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will no leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.

Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to remain the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, the temperature and pressure will drop till Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account that the fact I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore extinct..... leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God".

Alas after almost half a year of being away from blogging I've finally decided to jot down my thoughts again. Regardless of who wants to read it. Apparently I do want to read my own material so jolly well for me.

So what has been going with my life lately? I've finally decided to give learning new languages a go. The languages I'm currently learning are Mandarin, German and Spanish. So if anyone knows how to speak German or Spanish do let me know as I want to improve on the language.

Form 4 life is certainly different from Form 3 life. But I've never understood why seniors keep telling you, "Enjoy your Form 3, Form 4 is hell." and when your Form 4, "Enjoy Form 4 because Form 5 is worse." Regardless, I think that when your Form 3, Form 3 is tough and when you move on to Form 4 then Form 4 is tough. We all progress through life at our own pace. Things get tougher for you as you grow older because what is the point of growing up if things get easier? Obstacles are meant to be overcome and not stop us from moving forward. Difficulties help you grow.

I've been reading a really good book recently that I think should be MUST read for everyone. It's called The Definitive Book of Body Language by Allan and Barbara Pease.

It is pretty easy to understand for anyone and you can read start reading from any chapter of the book because it focuses on different types of gestures and what do they mean. How to read a cluster of gestures and interpret the meaning of it. How to carry yourself to portray a more confident you. It helps especially if you are going for an interview or interviewing someone.

Prefects aren't Perfect

After a long time of not blogging I've decided to start blogging. A lot has happened since I last updated but nothing too much worth noting. Just my daily casual living. Anyway today isn't about what has happen months ago, rather it's something more recent.

Being a prefect in SMK USJ 4 isn't a bed of roses and I'm pretty sure being a prefect in general isn't. But sometimes it really seems that we become the free labor of the school that is taken for granted. It's fine to be reprimanded when we slack but the problem is when the seniors generalize everyone into one category. So they say WE all slack and don't do our duties but there are those few that do their duties well. Is it fair to give a shelling and say YOU ALL?

My personal opinion is that if you do that and the ones doing a good job will eventually get tired of doing a good job unless they are totally 110% committed to being a prefect but then again we are still human. I feel that if I'm going to be blamed for not doing my duty but I am, I might as well not. Reason being that it is hard to get students to cooperate with you. Especially when the school's system is so flawed to the point where the students have no fear of the teachers and what more prefects.

If there is no punishment awaiting you, why bother listening? Big deal when we get demerit but chances of being expelled from school for not bringing your tie to school or having long nails or etc. are extremely low. The worse case is that your sent for Majlis Disiplin (MD) and your parents are informed but other than that there is no further punishment.

If students have such a poor view of teachers authority in school what more the prefects who are just their peers. Armed with a notebook and pen, the prefects are expected to be an all in one package deal. We should be able to help out whenever we are called and on top of that we are to be good role models. Sure we know the pros and cons of being a prefect but it's when we are spread too thin yet expected to give 100% in all areas while those with authority watch from above and give commands.

They'll tell you that being a prefect gives you the right to exert your will onto the students but it's just not that way. Being a leader is to serve others rather than having others serve you. Just because someone has a different method of doing things from you doesn't mean they're wrong. Let the results speak for itself.

I believe that being a leader is being able to lead by example. More action less words. I agree that once in awhile we should be reprimanded when we fall short of the expectations but it's when it gets so often it becomes a mental battering to those taking it in. It sure is easier to preach than to practice.

All I'm saying is that sometimes it would be a pleasant change when you have leaders who know when to use a soft approach and when to use a more stern approach. If one is too soft, others will step on you while being too stern results in dictatorship rather than teamwork. Problem with everyone is that we don't realize we are of one body. If one part of your body suffers does not the whole body feel the pain? It's until everyone can realize this, we then can talk about achieving a good image.

Sarcasm doesn't help motivate us instead it puts us down. Another thing that all leaders should know is that controlling people is liken to holding sand in your hand, the harder you squeeze it the less you hold. Just a thought to ponder on, prefects may be role models but do they have to be perfect?

Weekend Fun

Alas! I've gotten my computer back after so many weeks but it will be taken away again tomorrow. Main reason why I've been away was because I've got exams coming so I just need to focus more on studies instead of playing games on the com. Mid term is coming up next month and I'm absolutely unprepared.

Just got home from Sunway with my church mates. Went to watch Paul Blart Mall Cop and I've got to admit it was hilarious. After church service we went for dinner then decided to catch a movie and so happened that this show was the nearest to our time so we went for it. When we got to Sunway, we went to get our parking ticket but when Timothy pressed for a ticket he got like 10 tickets one shot and the gate didn't even open. Crazy machines.

So anyway here's my movie review on Paul Blart Mall Cop

Genre: Action comedy
Runtime: 91 minutes

I enjoyed the show pretty much and the laughs were good. I'll have to give this show a 7.5 rating but I don't see this show as being an all time comedy. Still good and worth watching. For more information here.

Just Another Day

I've realized I haven't blog in awhile. So here is a update on what has been going about my life.

Monthly exams have just ended and we've gotten our results back. I guess I did quite alright considering I didn't study for all the subjects except a few. So I guess you get what you deserve. Prefect's camp is coming up and to be honest I'm not really all that gung ho about going this year. Something about the camp seems so regular. But if I did go it would only be because of friends.

Ah, I made it into the school team so Yay to me.

The best thing I've discovered since I last updated was how to use torrents and I have to admit I'm addicted to downloading movies and games. The movie qualities I get are DVD kind of quality so I'm more than happy to leave my com running during the time I'm in school and by the time I'm home, I have movies waiting for me. Isn't the internet grand? =P

I've been using uTorrent and the Pirate Bay to get most of my torrents. Torrents are only as fast as the number of people seeding the file. But some people there can be real selfish leechers. They download and they don't seed. Greedy ain't it? I mean you want fast download speed as much as anybody else but yet you don't have the courtesy to seed the file. *Shakes head in disapointment*
By the way, I just switched to uTorrent 1.9 Beta and it's given me really fast speeds for movies. I think I get like 70 kbps. Not sure about you people but for me that is pretty fast already.

My coach really pisses me off most of the time because he hardly shows up for our training and we freaking paid for training but instead we train ourselves. Some coach he is. Always telling us excuses. I mean once in awhile is acceptable but when it's like out of 4 weeks he shows up 1 week? Come one man...

I think that's all that I consider worth jotting down for today.

Are you doing your part this Saturday by turning off your lights for an hour? I hope you are. Most people I know are turning off their electrical appliances too. If that's too much just turn off your lights will do. Let's say your parents aren't going to do it, why not you do your part by turning off your room lights or don't use electrical appliances. Go out and see the stars (Don't blame me if there is no stars present)

Do your part by supporting Earth Hour. One hour won't kill you entirely. Get off your lazy asses and spend time with people instead the computer. It'll do you good. =D

Sleeping Too Much

Sleep. We require sleep because without it we would die. How long have you gone without sleep? A few days? Felt like crap? Well obviously!!

But then again there's a bad habit among most people which is too much sleep. What's the use of sleeping ever so much when you'll be doing a lot of that when your six feet under. I have this bad habit of over napping too. Everyday after school I'll be exhausted from school so I'll have a short nap but more often than not, I'll sleep right by my alarm clock.

My little alarm clock is placed next to my bed and most of the time when it rings, I think it's just part of my dream and I'll sleep right through. I wonder if that makes me a heavy sleeper... But then again I can get up at the slightest noise other times.

I hate that I sleep right through because I'll just lose my entire day. Say if I sleep at 2p.m and wake up at 6p.m my afternoon and evening is gone. All I have is night and you can't do much at night besides homework and probably a little bit of studies. The weather here isn't any help either. It just rains a lot and rain makes me incredibly sleepy. Come on!! How can you not want to sleep during a rainy day. It's like so relaxing minus the thunder. Don't you think so?

My friend said sleeping a lot makes you grow taller but sleeping a lot also makes you fatter because you can't exercise in your sleep now can you? Like today I was suppose to go for handball tryouts but I just slept right through the alarm clock. Luckily there wasn't any selections today. Phew.....

I wonder how many people sleep right through their alarm clock all the time like me. If it wasn't for my grandmother helping me get up everyday, I'd always be late for school. I want to change!!!

Friendship Gone Sour

As it has come to my attention, apparently I'm being labeled as a person who flames others while not stating my name. Let me make myself crystal clear. I'm not that free to go and start blog wars nor cbox wars as I have other things to do. Though I have my own points I don't carry on fights because honestly, it takes a toll on one's self. Does it make you a better person to lash out at someone non stop? Just say what you need to say and forever hold your peace.

So here's the story. I posted a post entitled 'Stepping on Others' awhile back. I did so because the feeling of oppression and emotions just had to be vented out so I did it via blogging. Now so happened that my friend's blog has been visited by a person going by the name "[]" and I'm suspected to be that person.

Now here's my point. Why would I go through so much trouble to say what I want to say on his blog when I can clearly get it done on mine. I posted that post because that was how I felt so I said what I wanted to say and I held my peace. Now in school I'm being suspected as someone I'm not. I don't mind being view in such a manner if that was my actions but it is not.

I just want to be judge on my own actions not because of someone who can't admit their name on the internet hence I get blamed for it because our opinions are close to similar.

The damage has been done but on my part I would like to clear my name as that is what matters to me. For me to be forgiven is entirely up to this person. Let me say I've view this friend of mine in the best of light. I really hate having enemies because I live by this quotation "A million friends are never enough but one enemy is too many."

Nate Robinson showing that he has hops. Serious hops. That guy is only 5 feet 7.75 inches (listed as 5 feet 9 inches though) and he jumped over Dwight Howard who is 6 feet 11 inches. That really deserves a wow.

Though he did use his hands to push himself over Superman, before you start criticizing. Can you do that? That guy has almost 43.5 inches of vertical jump (according to Wikipedia). He's only about my height and he can do that. Boy....

Daryl's Birthday Party

What a day I had today. Definitely a day to remember due to all the fun I had. I haven't laughed that much in 2 months put together compared to as much as I did today. Anyway, today was Daryl's 15th birthday and have I known him for quite sometime.

The Bday boy

Today we were suppose to gather at his house at around 12.30 but I left the house at 12.30 and I thought I was late but when I arrived I was the only guy there. Turns out I was in the house with a whole lot of girls. Now what would I be doing with those girls? Create enough laughter to light up New York.

I guess after 10-15 minutes later Samuel came and Wei Beng only came at 1.20. Thank goodness Daryl only came back at 1.30 plus. Getting in position to surprise him was hilarious enough. Brynn just couldn't stop laughing for who knows why. When Daryl walked in we surprised him but he had a look on his face which would probably have said "What the heck are you guys doing in my house?".

After everyone arrived it was time to bring down the house. Let the makan time begin!!! What else can you expect at a party but really good food. Daryl's mom makes some really nice dishes. There was pizza and soft drinks and cake. As soon as everyone finished eating, we chatted and played Heart Attack and Bluff.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. But that was for those that went home. Daryl, Wei Beng and I were watching Bachelor Party 2. Really dumb show but it's purpose is to make you laugh so I guess you could give them points for that. We only left after the show ended. Me and Beng went to go shoot some hoops then here I am writting this.

Simple Ways to Keep Viruses Away

We all get annoyed when we unsuspectingly get whacked by viruses. Probably from pendrives or even going to some website you found on Google. Here's a few simple steps to prevent your computer from being infected with viruses.

1. A proper firewall

If you are using the normal Windows firewall, I suggest you get a proper firewall because Windows firewall isn't very dependable. I recommend using Comodo Firewall Pro. It's free and it has good reviews and is definitely better than the default firewall.

2. A good anti-virus

Normally most people would McAfee or Norton which is fine except for the fact that it only last for a year before you have to pay again. I personally prefer using AVG or Avast. Both are free and can scan thoroughly but might not be able to remove the virus. Unless it is a really new virus, these anti virus should do fine. Do not get more than 1 anti viruses.

3. Spybot - Search & Destroy

Really useful for removing viruses that your anti virus can't. Very easy to use and it helps immunize your browser from viruses. You install this program and follow the instructions then you let it scan your computer. If there are any threats it would appear. You'll be surprise what lurks in the deep dark corners of your dear computer.

This is what I use to keep my computer safe from harm. Though your computer can't be 100% virus free but with this and smartly browsing the net, you shouldn't have a problem. If you use the net for confidential stuff remember to check if the site is secure and erase your cookies after browsing if you think that your information might be misused.

Liverpool Won!!! =D

Liverpool 2 - 0 Chelsea. Woo! The 2nd half of that match was played with real fire and you could really see the Reds mounting on the pressure. I didn't watch the first half of the match but the second half was great. Fantastic seeing Torres scoring again back at Anfield.

The first goal was a nice pass from Gerrard to Aurelio and then he crossed it nicely to the near post and Torres just took the pass and put it through the net. Cech was a little too slow but what the heck I'm glad he made that mistake. =D

The second goal was nicer to watch. Simple and clean finish giving Torres his 2nd goal. Now that's our Red striker! Its amazing how these footballers get paid so much. I just like watching football but I can't play football. I can't even strike the ball cleanly.

Though I was darn glad to see Chelsea play with 10 men but I felt the red card was slightly harsh. That really made the difference I guess with Chelsea having less men to push forward. Who cares as long as we're back in the race and now it's time to take back the reins.

I wanna see Gerrard win that Premiership trophy for all his hard work. The Reds deserve to win if they can keep up this fire in them. Too many games that should have been won at home ended up as draws. Let's go REDS!!!
