Stress and how it has become integrated into the lives of Indian students

Stress. We as Indian students have been experiencing this since forever. Most likely from the moment we are born! Parents and the society around us expect us to have a clear vision of what we want and be insanely determined to achieve it but most of the time we don’t know what the hell we are doing so we just see where life takes us. If only it were that simple. Even if we are moving at a calm pace, society forces us to worry about the future. Especially in a competitive environment like India, stress can tend to run high amongst students studying in high school. We are always told this dialogue, “Just study for these three years, your life will be set”. Literally everyone knows that’s not true. After passing you have to write many competitive tests and you have to struggle in college too. Every time those damn topper lists come out; my BP shoots up like it is a rocket lit during Diwali. These are just a few reasons we Indians experience stress and anxiety. I mean there are a million more but if I wanted to list them out, my system would give up on me. Ok, we have established that stress is a common occurrence but why can’t we just suppress it? Ignore it? Well, that may lead to extremely bad effects.

Dangerous effects of being under constant stress

Being in constant stress may lead you to lose self-confidence. Even if you are a well-scoring student stress may cause you to lose concentration during exams and lose marks due to that. “Some extreme effects of stress are people forgetting where they are and ending up somewhere they don’t recognise” says psychologist, Prachi Khandeparkar. As we know exams are a major catalyst for stress, there have been instances recorded where students have experienced hyperventilation, vomit and difficulty in breathing during exam season.

How to reduce stress in our life?

Here comes the important question. Thanks to NCERT, we now have mental health standards imposed on our schools and a limit for homework provided. What can we do to reduce stress on our own? Here are some tips recommended by experts:

 Get proper amount of deep sleep

 Have a calming study environment

 Maintain a proper diet and regularly exercise

 Share your problems with friends. Sharing always helps to reduce the burden :)

 Listen to music that hypes you up!

Follow these and you are sure to have stress under your control soon. Make sure to leave a comment on how these tips worked out for you. What topic would you like us to breach next? Comment down below. Bye!

Why you should watch documentaries, Even if you hate them~

2022-09-06T19:52:00.004+05:30

Reasons Why You Should Watch Documentaries, Even If You Hate Them

Documentaries? Isn’t that kinda boring and just a factual description of something that happened way back? No thanks, my history textbook is punishment enough. If I had a penny for every time, I’ve heard this on the internet, I would be a millionaire. I’m here to break all these stupid stereotypes about documentaries. Netizens say that documentaries are only for nerds, but aren’t we all nerds in our own way? I mean there are true crime nerds (like me), tech nerds, mystery nerds… you get what I’m saying? Not everybody who watches documentaries are nerds, some people like watching murder (and that’s some cool shit bro). Not all documentaries are about some prehistoric event that is no longer relevant. Netflix releases documentaries every other day and they are all in line with the trends. And like I said documentaries are for everybody so it comes in every genre. I’m going to be talking about the top 3 genres in it and giving you an example to start with.

1. True Crime

Who’s surprised? True Crime is the craze right now. My mom and Dad are genuinely worried that I may be mentally unstable because of the unhealthy amount of true crime documentaries I watch. But for me, it is not the cruel details of the crime that draws me in, but the psyche of the killer, the motives, the pattern, are what drives me to watch it. It is quite hard to stomach knowing that such horrendous things have happened in real life, so I’m warning you right now. True Crime is not for everybody but if you are sure that you can handle it, I recommend you to try it.

Recommended true crime documentary:

Conversations with a killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

This docuseries is absolutely thrilling! It captures the footage of Ted Bundy, the prolific serial killer breaking down his own motives and life. It is quite chilling and interesting. I highly recommend it.

If you are into more “the not killing stuff” go for the tinder swindler or Scam 1992, both great documentaries about very cunning scammers.

2. Tech Documentaries

To all my techies out there, if you don’t watch tech documentaries you are all missing out big time! There are many absolute bangers out there. Tech is an ever growing and mysterious part of our society. We may think we know everything that goes on in our screens. But there is always something beneath the surface.

Recommended Tech Documentary:

The Social Dilemma

What’s behind your Facebook? Is someone on the other side of your Instagram? The Social Dilemma examines our growing dependence on social media, how it’s reprogramming the way we interact and insider secrets about how the companies work. I assure you; it will be hard to look at your screens after this.

3. Nature Documentaries

Do you care deeply about the environment? Do you think animals are better than humans? Nature documentaries are your jam then. Many of them capture nature’s beauty in in its realest form. And wow! Nature really is a goddess.

Recommended Nature Documentary:

Our Planet

Our Planet is a British nature documentary series made for Netflix. The series addresses issues of conservation while featuring these desperate animals in their respective home regions, and has been noted for its greater focus on humans' impact on the environment than traditional nature documentaries, centring around how climate change impacts all living creatures. There you go, all of nature’s beauty and its struggles captured in one documentary.

If you liked this blog, please share this to your friends as well so that they can also get to experience the amazing world of documentaries.

Toodles!

BIGG HITS OF INDIAN SERIES

Hello people!!!!!!! How was the last blog?? Hope you liked it. Yesterday I was thinking that we always write about Western series, Western things etc... I was thinking that this blog should be something out of the box. At last, we decided what about something Indian. And today we are here with top indian series which are absolute hits and its on everyone's TV. If you guys don’t have anything to see in Netflix, you should definitely give a try to these series. And these are absolutely bomb than Netflix one (approved). These series are pretty latest ones and some might be new to you. These series are from our budget friendly app “The Amazon prime”. So without further ado , let’s get straight into the blog to get some info….

1. SUZHAL: The Vortex

This is series is absolutely on top. A crime investigation in small town India threatens to shake up the culture social fabric. This is unquestionably a fictional series which is of about 8 thrilling episodes directed by Bramma. It is undoubtedly worth to watch.

2. MUMBAI DIARIES 26/11

This series is leading the way on top. It is about Mumbai attacks during 2008. And a journalist tries to report all these incidents. It is a completely different genre with great sets and fast paced writing. For sure, it is undeniably worth to watch (try something new).

3. THE FAMILY MAN

OMG this has IMDb rating of 8.7. Shrikant Tiwari who enacted as a middle-class man, serves as a world class spy. With his family responsibilities, he tries to manage his secretive special cell of the National Intelligence Agency (okay I have spoiled a lot). Thus one's full of surprises and twists , so make sure you watch this.

4. MIRZAPUR

This is undoubtedly a well-known series. This series is related to mafia (then it’s going to be lit). Akhandanand Tripathi an impressive actor has enacted in this series. It is about exporting carpets and becoming the mafia boss of Mirzapur. His son Munna, who is unworthy and stops at nothing to continue his father’s legacy. If you love yourself a nice gang mafia series then this is for you.

5. MADE IN HEAVEN

I have literally watched this series twice (totally bomb to watch). The story is about wedding planners who know that India is a society in transitions. It is a completely romantic web series which premiered on 8th march. There is a lot to talk about this series which I couldn’t fit in this blog (better watch it). For real though, this one's definitely one of my most recommended series.

Hope you guys loved this blog and do share it to your binge-watching friends and families. Make sure to follow our blog on instagram. Bye~

Chess - Our Culture, Our Pride~

2022-07-28T14:36:00.000+05:30

In honour of the 44^th chess Olympiad [Also today’s leave :)], I’ve decided to explore the most intelligent, strategic and clever game ever invented- Chess. A game I’ve never been able to grasp because I’m dumb. But I certainly do enjoy the vigour of chess competitions. Tensions run high and you are left looking out for each move every player makes. You have to watch the competitor’s every move like a hawk. Because if you fail to notice that one game-changing move you will lose the whole game. So yes, it is a very high-stakes game. Chess is like every Indian’s bragging right. You think you know real wrath? Try saying “Chess is not an Indian game” to an Indian. (Dangerous stunts are not to be tried at home). Chess fever has gripped India especially Chennai. We all know that chess is the pride of India but how is India intertwined with the history of chess? Let’s find out.

History and Evolution of Chess

There have been many disputes on the origin of chess but the one thing we can all collectively agree about is the fact that the chess we play now is the modernized version of a very ancient game with long roots. What is that ancient game, you ask?

It was Chaturanga an ancient Indian game which closely resembles chess as we know it today. It was a game representing the kingdom itself, the king, his queen, rooks, bishops, knights, and pawns, all of which were important. Each have a specific way of moving across the board. And like many aspects of Indian culture, chess spread all over the western world and slowly lost its Indian culture. I’m very happy that we are bringing Chess’s Indian side on the table again by hosting the international chess Olympiad in the Indian hub of chess, Chennai. Which brings us to the next topic.

Why is Chennai the chess capital of India?

The reason is quite simple. Many great players have originated from Tamil Nadu. Of the 64 grandmasters, West Bengal has produced 8, Maharashtra 7, New Delhi 6, Andhra Pradesh 4, Kerala, Telangana and Karnataka 3 each. But a whopping 23 GMs have come from Tamil Nadu.

The country’s first International Master, Manuel Aaron, grew up in Tamil Nadu. The first grandmaster (Viswanathan Anand), the first female grandmaster (Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi), and the first International Arbiter are all from Chennai. Now more recently Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa has also joined the club of chess prodigies from Chennai. He recently became a grandmaster at the shocking age of 12.

The 44th Chess Olympiad: The world’s biggest chess event

Usually, the Olympiad is held in Moscow but this year its coming to our Chennai. And let me say, the government of Tamil Nadu has done a great job of making people aware and interested in this event.

The official mascot of this event is ‘Thambi’ a horse adorned in traditional Tamilian clothes like veshti-sattai. Posters with ‘Thambi’ and the tagline “Namma Chennai, Namma Chess” is everywhere. From bus stops to banners over tea shops in Kerala it is quite literally everywhere. The “Mozart of Madras” AR Rahman himself has released an official chess anthem featuring Honourable Chief Minister MK Stalin. With all these extravagant and pompous celebrations, this event is starting to feel like a national holiday!

All the best to our players who will carry our Indian legacy in the great world of chess.

Hope you enjoyed our new blog, make sure to share this blog with all of your chess enthusiast friends and also leave a comment below. Thank you 😊

Vikram - The Indian MCU we have been waiting for~

2022-06-20T19:18:00.007+05:30

Vikram – The Indian MCU We Were Waiting For?

Ahhh! Yes. Vikram! Now, this is a blog I’ve been looking forward to writing since I watched this masterpiece of a film. Honestly, I was blown away. I must admit, I walked into the theatre expecting a mediocre action film where guns did most of the storytelling. But what I got was so much more than that. Emotional storylines, mysteries, societal messages and twist and turns that left you hanging on to your seats. This film had it all. Me and my mom couldn’t take away our eyes from the screen even once. I’m sorry if you came into this blog expecting criticisms or in-depth analyzations. This just going to be a blog about this girl raving on and on about this awesome film.

Hindustan times says that Vikram is the highest grossing film in Tamil Nadu surpassing the behemoth, Bahubali 2 itself. If you haven’t watched the movie, you may ask what is all this rave about? Why should I watch this movie? Come on, let’s look at some reasons why this Lokesh Kanagaraj sensation is a must watch.

1. Great acting

This movie had a star-studded main cast of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, Malayalam Legend Fahadh Faasil and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi. All three of them are exceptional actors. Kamal Haasan has cemented his name as ‘Ulaganayagan’ meaning ‘Universal Hero’ in Indian Cinema. He is known for taking up more storytelling-centred movies. So, when I saw the trailer, which as I said mostly consisted of guns firing, I was surprised he took up this movie. But, oh was I wrong! He has done an amazing job playing the untypical and mysterious hero. Trust me I can’t reveal much more. He is a great presence in this movie, but I would say the backbone of the movie is Fahadh Faasil. Man! What an actor. He portrayed his protagonist character with perfection. And Vijay Sethupathi is THE actor for this villain role. I can say with full confidence that one of the reasons this movie is a blockbuster is GREAT ACTING

2. Character Building

I have to put this big fat SPOILER WARNING because I will be going into the characters of this movie. All three main characters are written beautifully. Even the side characters who appear for a very less duration manage to hook us to the screen (I’m still in awe of Agent Tina). The movie has done an especially good job of explaining the character’s motives and what drives them to do what they do. In some cases like Kamal Haasan and Fahadh Faasil’s character. It is not explicitly said, most of their backstory is blurred but we can very clearly understand their drive. While in Vijay Sethupathi’s character the thing that defines him and drives him is his fear. His fear that he will lose his family on a whim, pushes him to commit heinous acts. Great characters with mysterious backgrounds but an emotional drive? Yes please.

3. Tie in with other Lokesh Kanagaraj’s projects

Kaithi is another astounding hit of Lokesh Kanagaraj. Fans of this movie noticed many mentions of the Kaithi plotlines and even some scenes pertaining to it. Rumours are that there will be another movie surrounding Vikram’s plot but also tying in with Kaithi. I for one am very excited about this prospect as it may very well turn out to be as the netizens call it, LKCU (Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe) and more Lokesh kanagaraj projects is what this world needs right now.

4. Proper Pacing of the movie

We have all seen many action movies with painstakingly slow pacing and where they keep dragging on with the plot. At the very end they will reveal some cliché plot twist that we saw coming miles away. Vikram is one of the rare exceptions. In The first half we witness the incidents happening along with Fahadh Faasil’s character who is also trying to figure out what’s going on with us. The second part is us finding out what actually happened and what comes next. I could never point to a part of the movie and call it ‘boring’ or ‘uneventful’. Every scene plays into understanding the movie. This movie is 2 hours and 56 minutes long, not a second of it was wasted. I enjoyed every scene thoroughly.

Okay! Enough of my fangirling. You should definitely go watch this blockbuster movie. I assure you that won’t regret it. Techies and crime show fans will definitely enjoy this movie. There are many references even I did not understand. You are welcome to reveal some Easter eggs you caught in the movie down below. The songs were also out of the world, I really liked the title song .I’m eagerly waiting for Vikram 2. Hopefully it doesn’t release during my exams (even if it does, I’ll go anyway lol)

To the haters I say,

The eagle is coming, You better start running.

JIMIN FINALLY FOUND HIS SHOES

Jimin's outfit looks bomb. Only some eagle eyed fans would have noticed this scene. In this mv he found his shoes which he lost in the MV “Spring Day”. Even the outfit looks perfectly similar, the checked t-shirt, the coat etc. So, this part resembles the scene in the song “Spring Day”.

THE DEMIAN

Bear in mind this demian was used in the song “Blood Sweat and Tears”. This is the demian which was kissed by Jin. And also, the scene where Jin closed V’s eyes is resembled in this MV. And also, listen to this iconic song blood sweat and tears. If you didn’t, then you will be sorry.

Top 5 Book to silver screen adaptations that are iconic

Hey guys! We’re back with a brand-new blog. Today we are going to be talking top 5 books that got adapted as iconic films which are NOT harry potter. Instead, we are going to be focusing on other films that are equally iconic in their own way. Avid readers like me get extremely excited when we hear our favourite book characters are coming to life in the big screen. However, we are often disappointed because the directors are not usually true to the books which is supposed to be the original script. Instead, they go about their own way messing it up. One example of this would be the Percy Jackson movies, The movies were very bad because it was a mockery of Greek mythology. Even Rick Riordan, the author disliked the movies. We are going to look at those movies which stayed true to their books and saw massive success. Let’s start!

1. The Hunger Games Trilogy

The hunger games era slayed! These movies popularised the trope of teen dystopian adventure. I mean these movies really taught us about the real horror which is capitalism by luring us in with teenage love triangles. The books were written by Suzanne Collins. The nation of Panem is divided into 12 districts, ruled from the Capitol. As punishment for a failed revolt, each district is forced to select two tributes, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18, to fight to the death in the annual Hunger Games until there is only one survivor. The plot follows Katniss as she volunteers as tribute instead of her young sister. The third movie is split in two halves. I highly recommend you watch these, because they are awesome.

2. The Silence of The Lambs

This legendary movie is said to be the best thriller movie ever made. The movie follows the Clarice Starling, an FBI rookie who interviews the charming cannibal Dr Hannibal Lecter to catch a notorious serial killer on the loose. The books were written by Thomas Harris and I’ve gotta say Hannibal Lecter is one of the most intriguing characters ever known to the thriller world. He is difficult to put into categories like sociopath or psychopath. There is also a TV show based on this, and it is absolutely a thrill to watch. I’ve gotta warn you, in the end you might start rooting for a murderous cannibal and kinda start thinking that the dishes he cooks (with PEOPLE in it) looks kinda delicious.

3. The Lord of the Rings

Nothing screams successful adaptation more than 30 Oscar nominations – so we can safely say that J.R.R Tolkien’s epic fantasy trilogy was in good hands with Peter Jackson. This series of novels and movies have an incredibly dedicated fanbase. Amazon is making new series about lord of the rings even now! So, we can definitely say that this is a fan-favorite choice.

4. Little Women

This movie has been adapted numerous times but I’ve gotta say, the most recent one is my favourite. This book written by Louisa May Alcott is a very important piece of feminist literature and it definitely lives up to the hype. The story follows the four March sisters, Jo, Amy, Meg and Beth. While the March sisters enter the threshold of womanhood, they go through many ups and downs in life and endeavour to make important decisions that can affect their future. And I must say, the acting in this film was outstanding. So, definitely go check it out.

5. IT

Who doesn’t remember Pennywise, the extremely creepy clown who eats children? Ahhh, such a great and memorable character! Ok, I’m kidding. I am still haunted by pennywise dancing. IT was a book written by the horror legend, Stephen King about a bunch of kids who fight Pennywise to stop the routine disappearances of children in their town. This movie single-handedly gave every viewer clownphobia. This movie is also considered one of the best horror movies of this century.

Thank you for reading our new blog guys! Share it with your fellow bookworm friends if you don’t want to be eaten by pennywise or end up in a delicious-looking meat platter made by Hannibal. Byee!

Top 5 ways for teenagers to earn money at home

Hi guys! Welcome back. Today we are tackling a new topic. This is actually a goal for many teens nowadays including me. It’s an empowering feeling, making your first dollar. You must be sick of hearing your parents say “You don’t know the hard work, blood and sweat that goes into making a single rupee” (Haha, not anymore mom!). But on a more serious note, learning new and profitable skills that could act as a source of income in the future is crucial in today’s times. And not to say an incredibly impressive skill such as editing or writing may come in useful for making your college applications shinier and more impactful. Learning a new skill that you are actually passionate about can be extremely helpful. You can do what you love and make a few extra bucks while doing it! A sweet deal if you ask me! Extra pocket money never hurt anybody! So, without further ado, let’s get started and learn 5 ways for teenagers to earn money at home.

Sites like fiverr and upwork allow teens above 13 to create accounts as freelancers. There, you could offer many services that you are an expert at. Profiles are extremely easy to set up and it won’t be long until a buyer comes knocking down to buy your services.

2. Becoming a Blogger or YouTuber

This is one of the best ways to earn money, take it from me. You could write or talk about something you like and easily earn money from that. You should start by creating sites or accounts for you to upload your content onto. For Blog, affiliate marketing or ads might be the best way to monetize while in YouTube you can easily add ads with a single click. Make sure to leave the link to your content in the comments so we can marvel at your amazing creations.

5. Book Review writing

Are you a bookworm like me? Do you have many thoughts you would like to share on the latest book you’ve read? Then try Book review writing. There are many sites that offer up to 15 dollars for a single review. This could be a great option for avid readers. However, you need to be very good at grammar and writing. If you are try applying to Online Book Club. This is a very good site that accepts applications from teens too.

Top 5 met gala 2022 looks~

Top 5 met gala 2022 looks that slayed this year

It’s fashion’s biggest night of the year! It’s the night where we all look forward to seeing our favourite celebrities decked out in fabulous outfits and slaying the red carpet. It’s a way for us to live vicariously. We look at the met gala and imagine what we would wear to it. Like this, met gala plays a huge role in shaping fashion as we know it today. But first we must know what met gala is for. Every event, especially an important one such as this needs to happen for a good cause. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City which is a very important monument in the world of fashion. This event is highly prestigious and invitations are highly sought after.

Every year it is hosted on the first Monday of May and follows a very specific and unique theme. This year’s theme was “gilded glamour”. Sounds very period-drama esque. I was expecting a lot of gold- shaded ornaments, ball dresses, corsets etc. Maybe like the look you wear, going to a dinner with royalty. Let’s just say many celebs did not understand the assignment. But that doesn’t mean a few gems did not shine through. Let’s look at the the iconic met gala 2022 looks that shone through this year.

5. Lily Altridge

Supermodel Lily Altridge graced the red carpet with her shining- bright dress (excuse the pun). Yes, she was wearing what could only be described as the “dress of our dreams”. She was totally on theme by wearing a custom design by Khaite that was covered in 170,000 crystals and took more than 180 hours of craftsmanship to complete. It was paired with equally shing gloves and a breathtaking headpiece. Royal Indeed!

4. Kim Kardashian

Reality-star Kim Kardashian really served us those old-timey iconic looks. Literally! Kim wore the legendary dress that the evergreen Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang “Happy Birthday” to Mr. John F Kennedy, The president of America at the time. The dress is quite beautiful with shiny beads laid out on a gold/nude dress. Really Exquisite!

3. Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was serving us those supernatural looks when she wore this all-Gucci burgundy sequin gown with a silver snake slithering across it, dramatic sleeves and a matching headpiece. You may think she was not on theme but she may be the one to be most on theme because during the time period “Gilded Glamour” was most famous, rich people were mainly into the supernatural, and Jessica was out here looking like a psychic. So, mission accomplished.

2. Lizzo

Lizzo charmed us all by wearing a corset dress in black silk moiré with a dropped skirt, and an oversized chesterfield coat in black duchess satin. The coat was adorned with silk satin stitch embroidery. I don’t understand half the words in that sentence which means it is extremely fancy and rich. Designer Thom Browne’s representative confirmed that this dress took 22000 hours and 13 different materials to make. She also paired the look with eccentric-looking nails and a golden flute. Damn! She really went all out.

1. Blake Lively

Blake lively is truly the “Queen of the Met”. Ooh man! Her look turned heads and earned gasps of surprise from everybody there. It was like seeing a standing ovation. She wore a reversible gown with intricate detailing that was based on the statue of liberty. When revealed fully, her dress had the hint of bluish- green at the ends which is the iconic colour of the statue of Liberty The room literally froze when she revealed her dress fully. She paired that look with gloves that were also reversible and a tiara that is fit for a queen like her. I’m going to be looking out for Blake Lively every Met Gala from now because she is serving us looks to remember for a lifetime.

These are the top 5 met gala 2022 looks, share this post with your friends and follow for more. Comment your favourite met gala look below. Bye~

History was made when Hattie McDaniel won an Oscar for best supporting actress for her amazing portrayal as Mammy, a slave on the Georgia plantation Tara—in “Gone with the Wind”. Of course, she was met with backlash but both she and Marlon Brando don’t regret this iconic move to this day.

Christmas ~Favourites of the year

2021-12-25T20:11:00.007+05:30

Favourites Of the Year: Christmas

Feliz Navidad people! It is that time of the year again! The season of giving and merry. This is the season where families get together and sit around the Christmas tree to share the merry of the holiday season.

But first what is Christmas?

Christmas is a Christian holiday celebrated on December 25 to signify the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is also familiar to many as Xmas. People exchange gifts, attend church, decorate their Christmas trees, have treats and feast with their families. We all remember waiting for Santa when we were kids, right? But the special thing about this holiday is that Christmas is celebrated by not only Christians but everybody. Guess the holiday spirit gets to

everyone!

Many families follow several traditions that perfectly represent the holiday spirit. That’s what special about them, each family has a different set of traditions and that’s beautiful. This time of the year many specials are released like Christmas songs, Christmas tv shows etc. Many of you may have your own favourites but today we are going to share ours. Our categories are: Treats, movies, song, fashion and tv shows. The whole package!

Christmas favourite treats!

There are a lot of traditional Christmas treats that are absolutely mouth-watering but my favourite treat is gingerbread house. I love gingerbread house because even making it is a cherished memory and we can always customise it to our liking. There are many creative gingerbread houses out there but my favourite is the parks and recreation one. The main character’s co-workers made her a gingerbread replica of their office for her which I think is just the sweetest gift ever. No pun intended.

Christmas favourite movie!

There is something so comforting about curling up in a warm blanket and watching a cute Christmas movie. Ah! That’s the feeling. This year’s most popular Christmas movie is Love Hard, a blockbuster starring the famous Nina Dobrev and Jimmy O. Yang. This movie actually goes the unconventional way, starting the movie with an “unfortunate” event. Natalie Bauer is a dating column writer based in Los Angeles who documents her disastrous dates she meets via a dating app. After meeting her perfect match on the dating app, she learns that she's been catfished when she flies 3,000 miles to surprise him for Christmas. Enjoy!!

Christmas favourite song!

All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey is a classic that was released all the way back in 1994 and again in 2011 and again in 2019. People just can’t seem to get enough of this amazing song. This song is my personal favourite not only because it is such a cult-favourite but because it is an extremely meaningful song that captures the essence of the holiday spirit just right. After all, Christmas is about being with your loved ones.

Christmas favourite looks!

Here is our favourite Bollywood celeb Deepika Padukone, rocking a Christmas-themed saree! I find this look extremely unique as she takes the traditional white and red palette of Christmas and incorporates it into traditional Indian wear. You need to have a creative vision to put such a stunning spin on a classic look. Deepika! You’ve outdone yourself.

Christmas Favourite TV show

My favourite Christmas favourite TV show is a marvel show!!! Yes, of course I’m talking about Hawkeye!! Our criminally underrated marvel hero got his own TV show. If you don’t know what Hawkeye is let me explain it to you. Hawkeye is a TV show that revolves around our favourite archer, Clint Barton. He visits New York with his Family for Christmas but his past as the murderer Ronin, catches up with him and puts Kate Bishop, another talented archer who idolises Clint in danger. So, they team up to solve this issue and that makes up for some truly crazy adventures. I love Hawkeye and I literally cannot wait to find out how this saga ends. I don’t want to spoil it for you but black widow’s death plays an important role, wink wink.

Thank you for reading this blog and I hope you enjoyed it. Tell us in comments whether your Christmas aligned with ours. Happy Holidays!!!

Thanksgiving Favourites this year~

2021-11-29T20:05:00.003+05:30

THANKSGIVING FAVORITES THIS YEAR

Hey guys!! Hope you’re doing good. We are here with a brand-new blog “Thanksgiving favorites”

Thanksgiving is celebrated as a national holiday on various dates in the western part of the world. The day starts with thanks, sacrifices and blessing of the harvest and of the foregoing year. The outstretched meaning of thanksgiving is the act of giving thanks. Families come together chat about what’s going on in their lives, eat delicious feast and have tremendous, amazing and great parties. There are favorites for every season. What’s going on this thanksgiving season? Let’s see.

FAVORITES OF THANKSGIVING

FOOD

When thanksgiving occurs the first thing that comes to our mind is the giant turkey. Turkey is loaded with spices and aroma. The aroma of spices fills the house. Juiciness in the turkey is the best thing ever. Thanksgiving is also known as turkey day. If there is no turkey, there is no thanksgiving.

SONG

“Thanksgiving Song” - was sung by Mary Chapin Carpenter. This song is such a work of art. Every tune hits the ear just right. I have never heard such a melodious song like this. The lyrics were written in such a beautiful way. Every word and every chorus made ,reminds me of thanksgiving. It’s extremely perilous to write such an admirable song. This was written in 2008. I really appreciate the artist for blessing us with such a heavenly song.

FASHION

This fit looks stunning on the model. This is perfect wear for thanksgiving. The turtleneck sweater looks so adorable. This is so in trend right now. This is the right time to show your fashionable side. Time to look chic!!!

MOVIE

Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow was released in the year 2015. It’s the best movie to watch during thanksgiving. It’s a family story celebrating thanksgiving in their Aunt Cly’s home. While travelling they face additional obstacles. I would really like to recommend this to you guys. This movie is out of the world.

THANKSGIVING SPECIAL EPISODE

Every tv show or sitcom needs to have a thanksgiving special episode. Such a festival time must be celebrated with an episode specially dedicated to it. It is tradition for families to gather and turn on the tv to watch the thanksgiving special of their favorite tv show. Today, our pick for the best thanksgiving episode is……… “The One with All the Thanksgivings” (Season 5, 1998).This episode from F.R.I.E.N.D.S is also known as the “flashback” episode because we see everybody sitting around the apartment competing to see who had the WORST thanksgiving ever. Chandler was the undefeated champion because his thanksgiving consisted of him finding out his parents were divorcing and “More turkey, Mr. Chandler?”. The episode suddenly takes an emotional turn when we find out that Chandler fat shamed Monica years before. It takes a funny turn again when Monica cut off Chandler’s toe while trying to impress him. It takes an emotional turn again when Chandler confesses his love for Monica when she is dancing around with a turkey on her head. Diwali: Then VS Now

Now, what is Diwali?
Diwali is the ‘festival of lights. It’s when everybody cleans their house, distributes sweets, show off their new cl6othes, light their diyas and burst crackers. This unique festival means something different for every person, but mainly it means the victory of good over evil. That doesn’t mean that it hasn’t changed in some ways over the years. Let’s see five ways of how its changed.

1.Diwali Wishes

We used to go house-to-house and personally wished everyone a happy Diwali. But nowadays, WhatsApp is the one delivering the wishes. We just search up a GIF or pic and send them or better, we put it on our status, that way we don’t have to wish anybody lol. How lazy we have become!!

2. Dress

We used to go to EVERY clothing shop and tire out the salesman for sarees, lehengas etc. Bargaining so hard, so we could at least get a 10% discount. But now, we just order our dresses online sitting at home, where we can’t even bargain!!

3.Bhajans

Earlier, our moms and grandmothers sang the bhajans during the aarti. But now, YouTube sings it for us. It sounds better tho haha.

4. Sweets

Earlier we made all the sweets at home. The house was filled with the aroma of ghee during Diwali. But now, Swiggy or Zomato delivers readymade sweets to our doorsteps. Some people just say, “I’m on a diet Ya” and avoid the tradition all together. No problem, more for me anyways.

5. Bursting Crackers

Earlier, the noise of crackers was heard outside our window till atleast 2.00 am. But now, people have realized that bursting crackers are actually *kinda* harmful to the environment. So, they’ve either stopped bursting them or they have switched to green ones.

No matter how many changes occur, the festive feeling in our hearts never dies. So, let’s celebrate Diwali with much fervour and zeal.

HAPPY DIWALI✨🎆🎇🧨

Top 5 fashion aesthetics of the year~

Top 5 fashion aesthetics of the year 2021 that will make you stand out from the crowd

First off, what is an aesthetic?

Aesthetic fashion is clothing that is unique, with bold clothes that typically would have been trendy years ago. You might have seen people dressing a particular way that isn’t considered basic all over TikTok. An aesthetic will make you stand out from the crowd. You will normally find teenagers and young adults wearing aesthetic outfits but it is not limited to them. Anyone can wear it. However, before you try, you probably need inspiration. Don’t worry there is an aesthetic out there for everyone.

E-girl

As the title suggests, this aesthetic is a viral internet sensation. This look typically borrows its flair from anime. Like the anime girls this aesthetic has dyed hair, makeup exaggerating the eyes and cheeks, chokers, mesh clothing, skirts etc. Doja Cat swears by this look.

VSCO girl

You probably have seen those hydro flasks all around you. That is one of the integral points to the VSCO girl look. The name comes from the photo-editing app (pronounced "visco") and important outfit ingredients are typically white sneakers or Birkenstocks, high-waisted jeans or shorts, Hydro flask water bottles, oversized T-shirts, and scrunchies. Messy buns and seashell necklaces are also part of the equation here for that effortless, low-key, and yes, somewhat basic look. Mom jeans is KEYYY. Emma Chamberlain is everything you call a VSCO girl.

Soft girl

If I have to describe this aesthetic in one word it would be PINK. And no not the artist, the colour. Pink clothes, pink accessories and even pink hair if they’re willing to go that far. One of the most famous “soft girl” celebs is our girl, Ariana Grande!!!

Baddie

This is that look that is made for the IG grid. A tight-fitting dress, full makeup, and designer pieces are giveaways for this aesthetic. Beauty bloggers and the Kardashian/Jenner clan are pros at channelling the vibe, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B slay the look like they slay their competition. This look makes you look and feel confident as heck.

Cottage core

In this look we travel back to the Victorian times with just a splash of modern fashion. I mean, who doesn’t want to live in a cottage with a flower garden. That might not be possible now but you can create the look for it. For example, Both Folklore and Evermore are cottage vibes and we all loved that dress she wore in willow, didn’t we?

Next time you try one of these amazing aesthetics and post them on insta make sure to tag us in those pics. Hope you all enjoyed this blog, try to leave your suggestions in the comment section and we’ll fulfil your wishes. Looking forward to your suggestions. Until then, Later skater!!

Top 5 shoe brands that are bussin’ right now

Everybody knows that an outfit is incomplete without the shoes👟. Shoes are the bow that ties the gift together. Sneaker heads must be on the lookout for the brand-new sneaks that come out every year📅. Shoes can be used for any occasion in your life like weddings, party, travel etc. But buying branded🎇 shoes that are actually comfy and suited to your needs might be a challenge. There are many fakes out there. Thankfully we are here to recommend you ➎ shoe brands that are the best for your shoe needs.

Nike

Who doesn’t know the iconic swoosh symbol of Nike? That’s right. NO ONE❤. Nike is the classic sneaker brand that stays on top every year. They come out with new and creative models every year. That’s how they manage to stay on top.

New Balance

Unlike many of its rivals, New Balance does not have well-known celebrities as their ambassador. The company claims to emphasize substance over style✨ by highlighting lesser-known athletes. They mainly produce fitness shoes that last long and are durable. That doesn’t mean they aren't trendy and stylish. This brand gives you the best material it possibly can.

Adidas

Adidas is probably the most popular shoe-brand in India. It is quite affordable💰 as compared to Nike. It also provides sports apparel that are efficient. Adidas has not only become a symbol of sports fashion but has also presented a collective image of street, pop-culture, music🎶, sports, and other fashion statements.

Puma

Puma is one of the most successful shoe👟 brands having top shots like Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Big Sean as its ambassador. The tiger🐅 symbol of Puma is also an extremely memorable one. They are a hit in the sports industry as Pele, the famous footballer⚽ who plays for Brazil won the World cup second time in a row wearing Puma boots in Chile.

Gucci

When you see somebody wearing Gucci shoes, you know they are rich💸 as hell. One pair of these babies will cost you up to 2 lakhs. This is the only brand in this list which is not sports-oriented. They are mainly for looks👀 and show-off of course. Gucci is also a fashion statement. Many celebrities wear them on a daily basis and you know they look stylish as hell.

Planking and how to master it~

2021-10-10T19:35:00.001+05:30

Planking and how you can master it like a fitness influencer

What is a plank?

The plank is a key position to get that sweet-sweet abs. Its not

only done for getting those chiselled abs but there are many more benefits which will make your jaw drop to the floor cause you would have never thought that a simple exercise position can make your life healthier.

The Benefits of Planking:

~Great way to strengthen the abdominals and the core.
~Makes your posture way better by helping you keep your chest
high and a healthy back.
~Makes your core strong hence allowing you to sit up or stand up straight for longer periods.
~Burns a lot of calories thus helps you lose weight
~Helps you attain a level of flexibility you’ve never had before
~Improves metabolism so enjoy that piece of cake now guilty-free.
~It doesn’t just help you physically but also helps you improve overall mental health

I think that was enough to convince you to try the plank at least once. But do you know how to ace it and gain the maximum benefits?

How to Master That Plank Hold:

~Lay down an exercise mat in a place where you can extend your body fully

~Begin with your face down, with your forearms and toes on the mat
~Your elbows should directly be under your shoulders. Your head should face downwards. It might help to link your hands together
~Your body should be in a straight line and engage your core to the maximum
~Your heels should be over your toes.

Here’s what Hasti Singh, Fitness coach and Sports nutritionist says:

“Those new to planking can practice holding instance, hold a basic elbow plank for 15 seconds. Eventually, you can move up to holding it for 60 seconds or more, and even try more difficult variations, like a plank with extended legs,”
Trainers say that you should hold a plank for 60 seconds if you want to gain maximum benefits.
We saw that Hasti Singh recommends trying out variations of a plank. So, let’s see some of the variations that are great for your core.

1. Mountain climbers

Drop into a top press-up position, supporting your weight on your hands and toes, with your arms straight and your legs extended. Keeping your core braced and your shoulders, hips and feet in a straight line throughout, bring one knee towards your chest, then return it to the starting position. Repeat the movement with your other leg, then continue alternating legs throughout.

2. Arm and Leg Extensions

Among the more challenging variations, it requires you to extend your arm and leg while holding your basic plank. It works your core, obliques, shoulders, hips and stabilising muscles.

3. Dynamic Planks

One can combine planks with movements like knee-touches, walk-ups, hip twists and plank jacks.

This was a blog to help you realise the benefits of the plank. So, I really hope you try this exercise. Give it a chance, will ya? Comment down if you found the plank beneficial.
