It was a moderately pleasant sunny day. I was sipping tea outside this food joint whose name I do not know because they only have a Tamil sign board.

Traffic was its peak with college students walking around with their friends and possible girl friends, giggling and smiling at each other.

Engineers and the IT crowd were on their way home, some in cars, some on bikes and some blowing the wind out of their cigarette buds (and their lungs alike).

Impatient vehicles honking, wanna-be sport bikers blazing ahead trying to cut through traffic, birds on their way home, the light rustling of leaves, the clatter of tea glasses being washed, people talking in a foreign language and yet there was a monotonous repetitive sound.

*THUD THUD THUD*

*THUD THUD THUD*

This sound repeated itself in the same sequence despite all the hustle bustle around.

*THUD THUD THUD*

It caught my attention and I noticed an elderly man digging a hole a few yards away from me. He had little energy left in him but was still digging that hole like his life depended on it.

Despite his age, he showed no remorse on that hole. He was not sure what future holds for him, he was not thinking about his past, all he knew was the present and that god forsaken hole.

*THUD TH..*

His digging abruptly stopped as he twisted his leg and sat down to fix himself.

He had no footwear on, just a blue coloured checks lungi along with a tattered green and orange shirt. He was in a lot of pain, but none showed on his face. Just then a man who looked like his boss stormed in on him and started hurling words in Tamil, which sadly I could not interpret.

The old man regained all his strength and started digging that hole once again. After a while, he stopped and approached his boss probably for his daily wage.

His boss, this brat of a man was not pleased with the old man's work and handed him what looked like a 50 rupee note.

The old man folded his hands in the form of a Namaste and started walking away.

Intrigued by this whole incidence, I had to know where this humble man was headed. My tea was cold and I gulped it in one go.

I followed him to a local mess where he ordered a Parota. I was sitting across from him on the same table and I ordered a Kalaki (a peculiar Tamil Nadu egg dish which has gooey pulp on the inside and a fried omelette covering). I had recently acquired a liking to this dish thanks to my colleague's suggestions.

People from all walks of life come and eat under a single roof, on a banana leaf. No matter how rich or how old you are, you must clean your banana leaf yourself and at the end of your meal you must pick it up and throw it in the trash. That, is the beauty of a typical mess in Coimbatore.

I noticed how this old man was relishing his single Parota and at the end of his meal, he neatly folded his leaf, drank two glasses of water, trashed the banana leaf and paid 10 rupees at the counter.

Yes, his dinner cost him 10 rupees. When was the last time you had a satisfactory dinner in 10 rupees?

He look satisfied with his humble meal, he smiled at the cashier, folded his lungi and started walking away proudly having saved 80% of his daily wage.

I contemplated following him once again, realized I have a PowerPoint presentation due tomorrow and decided against it.

But, right now as the clock on my computer strikes 02:30 AM and I am in the comfort of my Air Conditioned room, scratching my head, punching buttons on my laptop, I wonder.

I wonder, if this is a co-incidence or a sign that we should not spend lavishly on food.

I wonder, if a good meal fills your stomach or excites your taste buds.

I wonder, if you live to earn or earn to live.

P.S.- That being said, I would still devour an expensive chicken dish with no regrets. Old habits die hard.

-- The Ice cream image was clicked on a busy day in Gandhipuram (it costs 10 rupees and so does the tea) --

Food for thought.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be at the pinnacle of your success having achieved everything that you have always wanted after working hard for years together? Some of us could have already reached there. Some of us could be on our way.

But have you ever wondered what next? What would you do after achieving your goal?

And (god forbid) if you do not achieve said goal, to what end are you going to strive for it? What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goal? Happiness? Sleep? Food? Intellect? A Kidney?

If your life goals include living peacefully like a Saint, in the woods away from civilization and meditating, I would respect you but call you selfish.

If your life goals include living off the grid on a remote island in a cabin powered by renewable resources, I would envy you and call you selfish.

If your life goals include buying a plush 2BHK flat in South Mumbai amidst all the population and pollution, I would adore you, patronize you and be jealous of you. But what I would not do, is call you selfish!

Because, deep down I want the same thing.

Who am I? You might ask. I am your beloved Society.

Yes, the same Society that judges people all the time, every time.

The same Society that prays for Paris but are not willing to pray for Chennai because no Facebook filter.

The same Society who sees a 'dog' but calls it a 'BIG DRAGON WITH FIRE BLOWING CAPABILITIES WITH A SWORD AND A SHOTGUN AND A NUCLEAR BOMB AND JON SNOW ALIVE.'

The same Society that has the memory of a goldfish.

Or wait. Is that the Media? Some would argue how Media tells nothing but the truth. Yeah, buddy. Sure. Try telling that to Amir Khan.

Information acquiring and distribution is a very lucrative and manipulative business worth billions of dollars. News can make or break a billion dollar company just with the right set of words.

Considering all the vulnerabilities our world could fall into due to News Media, it should be a very restrictive business. Awarded only to those channels who are worth portraying quality news. But that is not the case because every other news channel out there churn out their own story.

Marketing giants are doing the same thing. I mean, marketing experts and business leaders would even try selling you a banana peel under a glorious brand. Probably tell you its 101 uses and make you buy a single banana peel for 100 rupees. Then they would offer a sale for 70 rupees a banana peel and yet people will run to showrooms to buy said glorified BANANA PEEL!

People are not minions, you cannot convince them to buy Banana peels. Come to think of it, even Minions would not buy Banana peels. This was way off topic.

My point being, to what end are we going to live this monotonous life and work to attain materialistic pleasures?

To what end are we going to tolerate this uneven distribution of wealth?

To what end would you spend all the money that you have?

To what end do you think a billion dollars matter in an infinite universe?

We are living in a metaphorical bubble. A bubble made out of titanium, wealth, riches, cars, bikes, mobile phones, diamonds and supposed happiness that one cannot simply burst by living inside it. This metaphorical bubble has a door which opens and lets you experience eternal truth only when you agree to give away your earthly possessions, to experience euphoria. No, I am not asking you to go buy psychotropic controlled substances in exchange for the wealth. All you have to do, is die. Yes, that simple.

But here's the catch, no one wants to die yet wants to attain euphoria. What do you do when you want to achieve euphoria yet no death? You get back in the bubble.

Everyone of us in this bubble.

The real question is, To What End?

P.S.- If you are a recruiter reading this, I did not mean any of the above sentences. I would love to work in your company. Also, I would gladly take off this post if you want me to. Pbbht, I'm just an average dude looking for a job.

P.P.S - Regular readers, ignore the Post Script and think AGAIN.
We celebrated our 69th Independence day on 15th of August, 2015. This is a fact. A fact almost everyone knows.

But, how much of is it true if you look into the true state of our country? This a question. A question one must ask oneself.

Our primary motive ever since we were ruled by the British was to achieve Independence, in its true form. Are we really Independent or is it just a state of mind we live in which is portrayed by social media and other factors contributing to such a debauchery?

The very first time, the citizens of this country voted for a democratic election was in 1951. Some might argue that we were independent before that but how would you know? You were not there! Numerous princely states ruled our country and from times immemorial it has been plundered and looted. There must be rebellions over time and when they were victorious, they might have believed that they were free or Independent, in its true sense. Only for their children to realize hundreds of years later, that it is all an illusion.

Even though you live in a country which is supposedly a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic nation, are we FREE?

We vote our representatives to guide us on the right path. Each of the said representatives have different ideologies about our vast country. But how would you know their ideologies? How can you be so sure they are not lying in their speeches? What if deep down they just want to get rich and enjoy the helm of power at their hands? You DO NOT. You CANNOT.

Compare yourself with Money for a moment. Is Money free?

Well, try this at home. Ask your 10 rupee note whether it is Independent, it would just stare right back at you, probably flutter away not giving a shit flying in the wind in all its prowess considering itself free as a bird. But you of all people know, that piece of cotton* is your property, and is not free. You own that note. You own everything on it, everything about it. Even though that helpless 10 rupee note could be under the immaculate illusion that it is Independent in its own true sense. But you know, it is a mere illusion of Independence.

Now, ask yourself this. Are you really Independent? Or is something giving you the illusion of your freedom? Is it the government which is at fault? Is it religion? Is it the Lord Almighty?

Whatever be the reason, know this -- "Human beings governed by a set of human beings can never be Independent in the true sense."

I am sure most of you reading this would have watched Vidhan Sabha proceedings on your television sets. Have you ever wondered whether they are true patriots of our beloved nation? Or just a bunch of businessmen trying to get the highest quote on their end? Are we not just Money for them, rich ones bearing higher denominations and the poor "janta" bearing lower denominations? When you see opposite parties throwing allegations on each other which is not really necessary, do you ever wonder? Why do they be-little the other party? If the primary motive of all parties in India was to make India a superpower, why is it not already after 69 YEARS! Is it just the hunger of mind boggling power that makes parties go crazy over seats or is it true patriotism? If it was indeed true patriotism, irrespective of whichever party comes into power, why don't other parties work hand in hand giving suggestions or better yet culminating into one party that truly looks after "peace in our time"**. Why is it that the Prime Minister of our country is throwing allegations at other ministers in an open speech instead of trying to help them? Why is it that the alleged ministers are mimicking the Prime Minister of our nation just because of a mockery? Who holds the upper hand? Who is superior? I say, NOBODY.

Why should other Human beings hold a superior power over us if all are considered equals? Why should some Human govern us when it is just another mere Human!

If a 10 rupee note would be governed by another 100 rupee note, it would be infuriated! Even though 100 is a higher denomination, who gives it the right to rule over other notes. Hell, the 10 rupee note would go on strikes, burn banks for all we know. But it is not, because Humans are ruling money. WE are superior.

To Conclude with, Humans could never govern control over humans to be truly Independent. We need a superior power. What this superior power would be, only time could tell. (The movie, Transcendence might give you some hint also.)

*-Yes, Indian rupee notes are made out of cotton.

**-That was a quote by Iron Man in the second setting of Avengers (Age of Ultron) -- Amazing movie, again.

P.S- Rejoice, we still have hope --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RENcw7a140

No, just in case if you are curious, I am not affiliated with any political party.

Also, there are many events that are bothering our nation and I have mentioned only some in this blog post. I know some pretty foolish events and would love to hear some more. Feel free to drop in comments. :)

Its been a while since I last blogged, but this post is not going to let you down.

On a particular night when me and my room mates were having heated discussions about the way our Indian Mythology came into being, one of our friends (Sharath Nair) opened our eyes by narrating a beautifully crafted story. I am sure most of you reading this post know at least the basics of Ramayana and Mahabharata before continuing to this story. If not, read nevertheless, because the world is going to end.

The summary of this story goes like this.

As we know, Hanuman was faithful to Lord Rama and swore to protect his life throughout. However, Rama was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and like all of his physical incarnations on to our material world, even Lord Rama had to go through the phase of death. Hanuman was adamant and successful in driving Yama Raja ( Indian version of grim reaper) away everytime he came to claim Rama's life. Now, this was getting out of hand and Rama had to distract Hanuman so that the world is balanced and the basic natures of law are maintained. He then came up with a plan. Rama dropped his golden ring strategically in a crack of his palace and asked Hanuman to bring that ring back.

Hanuman, could change his size as big as the Chrysler building or as small as a fly. Without second thought, he went down into that crack, only to realise that this was a never ending hole right till 'Naga lok' (The land of snakes). When he finally reached 'Naga Lok', he met the King of Snakes (Nagaraj) and confronted him about his problem. Nagaraj knew just what to do and led him to a cave. This cave, was full with a heap of golden rings just like Lord Rama's.

Nagaraj said, "If you can find the correct ring of your Lord, you may take it and go back".

Hanuman was sure that he would find his Lords ring in this heap, but when he went closer, he realised that all of those rings were identical. There was no difference in any of them, none whatsoever.

"What sorcery is this? Which among them is my Lord's ring?" Hanuman questioned in a fit of rage.

Laughing away, Nagaraj replied, "Oh you do not remember? Every once in a while, you come and search for the same ring and then return empty handed only to find your Lord no more"

Hanuman panicked and flew all the way up back to Ayodhya only to find his Lord in eternal sleep.

This is when he realised that time is a loop, and after every specific set of years, history repeats itself.

Hanuman is one of the many Chiranjeevis (Immortals till the world ends) known to roam the lands of Earth till this day. There have been reported sightings and many theories however none of them have enough proof.

Now, this was one part of the story. After which, I started doing voracious research on the vedas and I came across a website in which they clearly mention how the world is going to end in 2025. The Mayans were never wrong but the conversion from their calendars to the one we follow now was not matched correctly.

Yes, you heard it right. The world is going to end (more like reboot). Here is the proof to support my claim which aligns with all the other worldly calamities or messiahs who came to this materialistic earth.

This is a long theory and you could read the bigger, more elaborate version here.

Now, we consider that each Yuga lasts for a period of 2700 years, which ends with a world changing calamity and a recovery(buffer) period of 300 years.

There are Four Yugas in Indian mythology namely Satya Yuga (Golden Age), Treta Yuga (Silver Age), Dwapar Yuga (Bronze Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age).

Satya Yuga was believed to be a time when all living beings were god like and there was no sign of violence, hatred or any bad qualities in the human nature.

Treta Yuga saw Lord Rama, and had people with some amount of violence and hatred.

Dwapar Yuga saw Lord Krishna and had people with an even more amount of violence and hatred.

Then came, Kali Yuga where violence was at its peak.

After this cycle continues, it resumes itself in the reverse order which implies again kali yuga followed by dwapar yuga and treta yuga in the reverse order.

Now, if you observe carefully then at the end of every Age, there was a world changing calamity. In 9900 BC there was Ice Age due to a meteor strike which lead to the total annihilation of earth. Some however survive only to further humanity.

Next was the Black Sea Catastrophe at the end of the Silver Age in 6676 BC.

There was again a major calamity during the transition from Bronze to Iron Age, details are given here.

Then came the longest period of Kali Yuga the world has ever known. from 3676 BC to 2025 AD kaliyuga will prevail according to the calculations shown in the above table. This holds true to the fact that various mythologies all around the world correlate to this particular date. The lost city of atlantis is also true, and correlates exactly during the Black Sea Catastophe.

There are strong claims that the world is going to reboot in 2025, considering earth quakes, cyclones, hurricanes, volcanoes and heat waves occuring at various parts, the end of the world is near.

However, fear not, because everyone is not going to die.

Only the utter violent are, because humanity must be continued back till the golden age. After the end of kali yuga comes dwapar yuga with a hint of violence and hatred, then comes the Silver Age with minimal hatred and then comes the Golden Age where all humans are equivalent embodiment's of the Lord himself.

The Kalki Avatar of Lord Vishnu is supposedly claimed to ride the Earth on his black horse while he clears violence and hatred off of our lands. However, there is still little belief to his existence.

The other day on the bus, I saw a septuagenarian who when asked to sit on an empty seat, refused because it was the ladies seat. His unshakable morale, moved me while two 25 year old guys were carelessly listening to music not even bothering to offer that old man a seat.

That old man is an example of people who shall move to the next yuga, and those two young guys are the ones who shall not according to prophecy.

Long story short, we only have TEN years left to make it big. So, the lazy ones who are sleeping hours together (me included) better start doing something REAL with their lives.

Alright people, keep reading!

P.S.- I wish to build an ark, but I am not sure if some bad people come to my ark any of us would survive, because then to kill those bad people, the ark would have to drown also. Sigh.

Here's a picture of cat. Because nowadays cats are everywhere on the Internet, why should my blog be any different! Also, which God would have the heart to kill such an adorable cat!

To shave or not to shave, that is the question!

A True Story from Mangalore, Karnataka, India.

A lot of people go around asking why exactly I shaved my head clean. Smack. Bald. Nothing.

And I have a lot of different versions and I splurge different versions to different people.
Well, here is the original unadulterated story.

It was just another lazy day in a typical Engineering college.
What do people do in Engineering colleges you might ask.
Well, the one's staying in hostel wake up at 8, move to a different location (lectures) for some more sleep and then finally wake up a few minutes before the lunch break. That is pretty much a sane persons story in a sane Engineering college.
(I also know people who posses a superpower of getting up at 8:50 am and attending lectures at 9 am. We'll discuss more on that later)

Students who eat food in the hostel mess are very less. One of the many reasons could be that they do not have enough time to eat in the hostel.
Fair Enough.
But the main reason is the food that these hostel guys try to feed us outrageously bland! Our food is so bland, the word bland itself is a very bland word to define it! (The dinner is good at times. The lunch is what spoils the reputation of good food)

Coincidentally, me and my room mate Sharath (one hell of a guy) decided to have food in the mess. Well, we couldn't finish half of it but that's another story for another time.
It was initially a random question to Sharath who was fooling around on his phone and giggling. (probably on whatsapp(I hope!))

"Ae, mein takla karu kya?" (Should I shave my head?)

Sharath looks up from his phone with his eyes all blown up and I imagine he is going to exclaim and say some words which would be inappropriate to post on here. Oh C'mon, don't grin, we know we all say inappropriate words every now and then. Some more than the other. But surprisingly his reply was very cool.
"Ha kar na! Mast lagega!" (Go ahead man, do it!)

Strike one.

That's it, I was convinced that I was going to go bald today.

Later that day, I had to go to Mangalore to buy a Stretched Canvas.

Oh, I made a painting for a friend and gifted it to her as a birthday gift. The only reason I am mentioning this is with the hope I would get some orders for portraits. :D
Yes, prices are negotiable. ;)

I had almost forgot about shaving my head until I saw a bald guy in Mangalore in his mid twenties, wearing a yellow T Shirt, a diamond earring, beats earphones and sporting a goatee. "I want to do this", I said to myself.

Strike two.

Apparently, all the barber shops were closed that day. Disappointed, I come back to the hostel. I made a loud statement in my room that I am going to go bald tomorrow.
Shreyas (one hell of a guy too) notifies that the next day is Diwali, and it is inauspicious to go bald on a festival.

Damn Traditions! (You could say superstitions, but I prefer sticking to the term traditions)

With more time to spare, I tell a couple of friends about my bold decision and ask for suggestions.
Some sulked, some gave me the heads up while some got more excited than I was!

Strike three.

Within a minute, I make another statement of going bald right now!

Heads turned. People laughed.

Armed with a trimmer and a shaving blade, me and Sharath get to work.
Experimenting with a Mohawk first and then some.

*Eye of the tiger playing in the background*

Then I rise a champion, along with my head.
There it was, shining in all its glory.
The Bald Head.

I move my hands fearlessly over my head and feel the energy, the blood flowing beneath the skull, the feeling of achieving something which I longed for. The feeling of Victory!

And then somebody abruptly shut the background music.

A giggle which turned into a laugh.
Well, there were a lot more laughs and questions than I could possibly imagine right now.

I know that by the time you finish reading this post you'd have laughed your arses off as well. :P

The summary of why I shaved my head was because I really wanted to do it, and feel the wind when you run, ride a bike or sit on a window seat.
You don't have to comb.
Your hair does not get wet.
The possibilities are limitless when you are bald.
Except, you cannot sport a hairstyle because you do not have any.
You become a singularity in your area and you make a statement wherever you go.
People look up to you, and you feel confident all of a sudden, or so it is led to believe.

So, if you are planning to shed some weight, Go bald! Well, technically hair also amounts to a few milligrams, right?

What's the worse that could happen, you'd grow back your hair in a month!

The last few months I have been off the hook. I figured my blog was getting rusty and it needed the right amount of juice to jump right away. A silly bet with a senior of mine, proves to be just the right topic to blog about. :D

If you are reading this, I suppose you know what Flappy Bird is. Well, for those who do not, it is a very intriguing and mind boggling game that you just cannot stop playing. You either get so addicted that you master the game, or you chicken out and complain how frustrating the game is until the developer takes it off the internet. I belong to the former group, and my obsession with flappy bird, leads to the creation of an entirely new game. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present my first ever android game, 'Ponky Bird'. (Well, it is not entirely my game, the code still belongs to the original dotgears developer, and I just did a little tweaking. I do not intend to have any copyright issues, and dotgears developers still have full access over the game).

All I had to do was decompile the .apk file, change the bird's picture with one of my friend's (in this case, Ankitha's) picture, recompile the folder into an .apk file, and you get a brand new game with Ankitha hitting the pipes, and falling down. So, Ankitha, I win the bet and you owe me a treat. :D

And the attached screenshots are of the actual gameplay. :D You can download the game from the following links. :D
It was just another Friday for the likes of us. A normal Engineering student trying to enjoy his study holidays, because that's what study holidays are for, right? I wake up according to my daily schedule at 10am, skipping breakfast and occasionally lunch.. Any one with sane taste buds would tend to do that. Our hostel mess somehow manages to treat us with the most bland, tasteless food one would ever taste. Considering the bright side, we at least have food, considering the 3.6 million dying of hunger, a very interesting but harsh statistic I read in another blog. Still, there are students who eat nothing but mess food. Some tend to save huge amounts of money by not eating outside and then spend it all in a day on the luxuries of life, known to man. While others prefer saving some more, and buying a particle accelerator. The perks of being in Engineering
Getting back to the point, I'm hungry by this time after running all the daily errands which apparently are necessary to keep us healthy. I run down to the common eatery where you get all three forms of matter, customers can eat, drink or inhale. The management of the said eatery has been changed since I last blogged about the hotel. Very strategically nam
ed R.K hotel (stands for Hindu gods, Rama and Krishna) hopes that naming a business after deities is a profitable venture, or could be the name of the owner. I do not actually know. So, I go down to the counter, take a token which cost me forty Rupees and handing my token over to the cook, I place my order. One half chicken noodles and a chicken kebab. The daily diet. The cook, a very shabby, dark complexioned guy gives me one of his typical 'why the fuck do I work here' face and gets to my order.

This cook, must be in his 50s, wearing a dull checks shirt with a lungi (a large piece of cloth which acts a towel, Google for more references, and no, lungi cannot be considered as an apron). This guy goes in somewhere and comes back out. Now ready to make my order, he puts all the ingredients in place and starts cooking. He goes back to the inner kitchen and while coming back notices a green chilly lying helplessly on the floor, floor filled with footprints and other pathogens invisible to the naked eye. Without another glimpse, he picks the chilly, strides towards the kadai which allegedly has my order in along with 5 others and throws the chilly in, ever so gracefully. I stare at him, not flinching for once, but the cook has no remorse. Usually, people tend to look around when they do something wrong, hoping no one would catch them. But not this guy, he knew exactly what he was doing. Probably because he has always been doing that(you never know). For once, I thought I would complain to the manager but then I did not want to create a scene, plus I was really hungry and how much damage could a silly chill do? The cook comes back with my order and shouts in your typical Kannada accent, "AAA, CHICKEN NOODLES." I seriously hope that that helpless little green chilly is not in my otherwise delicious dish of chicken, and I was lucky enough. But I still wonder, whose dish could the little green chilly be in?

Until next time, keep reading folks. ;)
I agree it has been really long since my last blogspot, and I do not have any excuses but I needed a tiny wee bit of motivation to post another post. Well, that sounds neat. I have been experiencing language and English grammar issues since the past few months, and when I realized blogging could actually keep me sane, here I am, again. Moreover, I'm eager to know about those particualar 2-3 people who open my blog, knowingly or unknowingly triggering the counter which only I can access, giving me the detailed view of the page views my blog has reached on a given day, week and month. So, if you are out there reading this, I'd love to hear from you, blog-reading-stranger :D

Now, that I'm in a typing spree, I realize what I had missed all those months, for any blogger it'd be relevant. The crisp full fledged QWERTY keyboard, your normal laptop would not sport. That feeling of typing down whatever you wish while the melodious sound of friction-less keys add to the background score and you feel like a real Blogger should. The continuous effortless typing which compels your neighbors to know what mystery lies in the long text the blogger is typing. God, I missed this feeling. Typing on a desktop computer is different from a laptop in many ways. Those who were brought up with a keyboard adore the difference between a laptop keyboard and the desktop counterpart. I prefer the desktop keyboard because it is much more suave and my fingers actually connect with the words I type.

It is strange how when you are lazy to type, ideas will prevail as Nazis in Germany during the world war, but when you actually sit to type, you tend to be a sitting duck. All of the above topics and mentioned hereforth are irrelevant. I'm officially a third year Engineering student now, also the freshers' party which was organized by us for our juniors was a bash, or so we believe it to be while some disagree. Freedom of thought prevails, and we have no regret. Today being Teachers' Day, our seniors organized a treat for all the teachers of our branch, some of them being jolly enough to break a leg (not in the literal sense). Moreover, the day was a total win win, because a friend of mine and a classmate from first year, approached me in a hurry with an open invitation to join the Quiz competition tomorrow at St. Joseph's (a renowned (or so they say) college in Mangalore).

I come to the library to gain some quick general knowledge for tomorrow's impeccable event while the brainchild of Mr. Charles Babbage perpetuates me towards itself only to type down this blogpost. Computers have never failed to attract or fascinate me. The internet lab, filled with Mr. Babbage's children is pretty cold with 18 degree Celsius flashing on the air conditioner indicator. Seems about right because the computers here might have a short temper, still running on Windows XP, they're doing quite a job. So, even with no preparation for the said quiz competition, I'm still looking forward for it, provided the Principal and the Head of my department flash a green flag. Until then, fingers crossed. Keep Reading folks, there is more to come. :)

P.S.-If you are wondering, what or who Charles Babbage was, please read on. According to the textbooks of the Maharashtra State Education Board, he was the Father of all computers, and hence the very relevant metaphor. :P and the photo attached is of the brand new RK noodles and my room mate relishing the local beverage, strategically named Tripti. :P

What do movies teach us? Do they even teach us anything? We
have our study holidays, and the only sane part apart from studying (which is
seldom done) is watching movies. Today, I end up watching three movies in a
row.

The first movie being ‘Barfi’, a beautiful movie which
portrays with utter simplicity how love is transcendental, you do not have to
be a good looking or even sane for that matter, to fall in love, because as you
know it just happens.

The second movie was ‘Unstoppable’, a movie which wanders
throughout the plot basically centralised on the idea that a carefree fat guy
who fails to take control over his physique and a train, ends up putting in
turmoil and unimaginable danger the lives of thousands.

The third movie was ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, again a beautiful
movie (most would disagree here) but it indeed was a good movie. The way the
person bets his life on love, disregarding everything in life, seeking death.
But God or the Universe (for atheists) had other plans which ultimately wind up
bringing him together with the lady he adored and showered love upon.

Somehow I can relate the order and stories of these movies
to my life, is what I was wondering when I started typing this blog post
down. Also, as the clock strikes 01:59
on the strategically placed clock on my laptop, I think I’m turning nocturnal
day by day, or rather night by night because darkness is the only time I think.
Coming back to the point, is our life so simple that three movies can reveal
the mystery that is longed by most of us?

Barfi, tells me how happy I was back then, when “Love, was
it?” was being posted on this blog.

Unstoppable, tells me how miserable and off track I was in
the past few months, contemplating life in a nutshell.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan, tells me how things could still be better
and there is a future where I can actually dance in a field of Sunflowers with
a person (hopefully of the opposite sex).

But sometimes I wonder whether all my calculations and
predictions are futile, all this time I have spent thinking on how life is
supposed to be lived, but it is nowhere near how I thought it would be. This
post, the three movies could make no sense at all in my life. This could be an
utter waste of time. Perhaps, these three movies tell something, perhaps not.
But, trying to find out what the Universe or God is trying to tell us, is like unveiling
the mystery, revealing the suspense, spoiling the eagerness and passion
throughout the movie just for a glimpse in the future. We all have that one friend,
who spoils the climax of every movie you are about to watch, by watching it
already right? This time, God or the Universe is that friend; they already know
your future and are trying their best to convey it to you. You can either listen
to them, or you can turn deaf ears and live the thrill, because the eagerness is
always the reward in a movie. In this case, that movie is called LIFE.

Comments, criticisms are always welcome. Keep reading folks. :)

When I look at the statistics of the page views my blog gets everyday, I feel compelled to write something for those two-three faithful friends/strangers who make it a point to check my blog every single day without fail. It is true, there has not been a single day with zero page views, because some tom, dick or harry always stumbles on my blog one way or the other. So, for the unsung heroes who make my blog get hits, I dedicate this blog post.

I started blogging in the early 2010 period, when blogging was introduced to my fairly decent brain that had started questioning the ramifications of the worldly life. Since then, my life has gone quite a few changes. A newbie to social networking, and totally addicted as well as attached to the internet, I have done it all. Befriending a total stranger on social networking sites, falling in virtual love with a person I did not know physically existed, downloading stupid screen savers only to find a Trojan Horse virus corrupt all my data, trying to earn money from the internet, and stuff that could not be spoken here for obvious reasons and to avoid controversies. You name it, I have done it. Now, when I look back on all those years I have wasted on the internet only to realize, instead of talking to that cute girl from Hawaii on webcam, if I had skimmed through pages of Wikipedia, would I not be a lot wiser than I am right now? Probably, yes, but would I be a better person than I'm right now? Probably not.

Talking to people over the internet, being kind, humble, truthful I gained quite a few friends from London, Brazil and New York. I talk to them, till this very day and they are equally psyched as I am, or I think they are. The point is, internet has played a major role in my life. First it was, only "project/school work" related, then on expanding my horizon, it came on to social networking, blog, earning money(which I failed at after trying hopelessly), then a few months of virtual silence(no blogs, no statuses, no updates), then again here I am, because internet has been hard wired into our way of life and living without it is simply unimaginable.

This blog post was no where in sight, until a very good friend of mine recommended that I write whatever that comes to my mind, and here I'm blabbering about stuff that I think about every other day. If I actually start writing all the possible permutations and combinations of the thoughts that run through my brain every single minute of the day, it would be a really long post and I wonder if people would be interested to read that. The typical turmoil of an Engineer is they wish to earn while they work because most of us are spendthrifts or rather are forced to be because of the food we get in the Hostel Mess. Some succumb to betting, some gamble, while some just go on spending till they realize they are bankrupt, and then there's bitcoin. The latest new virtual currency that gives geeks like us hope that they can earn or "mine" money more quickly. Bitcoin is a gamble too, but with the steady increase of currency, one bitcoin is equivalent to a whooping 180USD or roughly 6000rupees. With these kind of figures doing the rounds, I wish I had an extra GPU or an FPGA/ASIC board to mine more bit coins. If only, I had more money this would have been possible. Probably, making money as a student is just not my piece of cake. I'll rather stick to blogging and hope that one fine day money finds its way towards me. And yeah, for the record, I shall try to blog atleast every other day, because the life of an Engineer is much more complicated than you think(and is fun to read at the same time)

Bookmark the page, because I'm back in action. :D
Keep reading folks. :D

Most people in this utterly simple world believe that the
world is made up of different elements, which include earth, water, fire, air,
metals and what not. What they fail to realise is that, all these elements are
just a frail figment of the knowledge we tend to gather while undergoing an
intimidating process, the rest of the world calls “growing up”. Science teaches
us all that we need to know about how the world works the way we see it, but
philosophy, thinking, teaches us how this world works within.

My cousin is getting married this weekend, and to attend
this auspicious union, I was asked to take leave from college. I gladly
obliged. The story goes like this, while I was on my way to Mangalore, my mother’s maternal home, I had to cross 30 kilometres
of endless farms, forests, small towns and various means of livelihood. That is
exactly when I realised, the world is not complicated at all. All that we see
in this world can be generalised in one simple term, ‘Stories’. Stories, define
the world in each and every aspect a human could possibly imagine. Most of us
have not thought the world in the form of stories yet. But, if we try to think
that way, a whole new door of probability opens up. Each and every other
object, living or non-living is trying to portray a story, the only minor
glitch being, not everyone is able to hear the story being told by every object
in this world. Every one of us has a story, be it the common college watchman,
the soon to be married bride, the guy who washes the plates in a marriage, a hungry dog waiting for food or a
stone lying helplessly on the middle of the road. I came across all four of
them, though they were silent, and some paranoid, they just didn’t show.

Each one of us portrays a story; though it is impossible for
the leaders of the world to hear each one of us, it is absolutely essential to
know the mind-set of the people they rule upon. Our planet earth has been
through a lot, witnessing various species and revolutions alike. Right now, the
Indian youth is at cross roads, contemplating whether partying in pubs or revolting
against the corrupt government is the need of the hour. Obviously, the latter
part is more essential than whiling our time away partying, but the western
influence is far more gravitational than the country itself. This is where, the
youth fail. Me, being one of them is also in a similar turmoil, but I hope,
with time I’m clearer in priorities. Hope, cannot do much now to the country
which is dwindling between corruption and rape cases doing the rounds. What we
need is, action. We are in extreme need of the act that could change the scheme
of things wrong in our world, and set them right. The world has a story, listen to it, and act righteous.

For further insights, be hooked, keep reading. :)

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and like the rest of the Sunday's that I had spent sleeping in the hostel, I wished I could sleep a bit more, at the least till 12, because my usual Sunday routine demanded a uninterrupted 13 hour sleep. You read it right, T.H.I.R.T.E.E.N hours was my Sunday sleep. When you get into the college I am in, which starts at 9 and ends at 5, at the end of the day, you get tired enough to sleep like a log on a nice Sunday afternoon. But, that weekend my mom was here, and I was at my granny's to visit her, and she wouldn't let me sleep past 10 a.m. She definitely would if she understood the turmoil we go through. A good night's sleep everyday of the week is definitely out of question for us.

Also, the highlight of this blog post is that I bought a new freakin' phone. Due to my previous phone's indecent behavior of switching off according to its own will, and the spontaneous nature of my awesome Mom, I ended up with a swanky new Android 4.0 phone which supports temple run 2, and a bet with Shreyas that if I score 50,000,000 within this semester, I could eat all that I want in the newly opened "Fresh and Honest Cafe" and the "Snake Shop" downstairs. So, as much I was into my swanky new phone playing Temple run 2 all the time, I managed to hit a record 6 million, and as soon as I hit that six million, a football came flying in through the glass ventilator, shattering that glass to a million pieces with pieces flying right beside me. There was an eerie silence for a few seconds, with abuses flying later towards each other. All this while, I was wondering, "So that's how it feels to be on the receiving end of a glass break." It was pretty intriguing, because all that happened in a matter of seconds, and I did not notice a small cut on my nose when my friend pointed it out. Blood was flowing as if, all hell was broken loose. The guy who had hit that million dollar kick came running to see if any of us were hurt, only to be invited to a welcome of some of the world's deadliest unpleasant words.

Arjun, was the infamous footballer who had managed to hit right through our glass ventilator. I mention his name because, I had to give up to his incessant request to mention his name in this post. I sincerely thank the almighty to not ruin my swanky new phone to the millions of pieces of flying glass. Along with the new phone, came the revolutionary new software called "Whatsapp" and communication no longer cost me more.

And by the way, the new phone I bought is a Sony Xperia Tipo a dual sim phone for Rs. 9500/- and it is pretty good, as of now.

P.S- The attached photo is of the broken glass pieces that shattered to the powerful kick of Arjun Sreedharan and then later broke into two pieces while trying to pierce my iron clad skin, but in vain. To contact Arjun Sreedharna, here is his facebook account.
and for fun sakes, here is the profile of the person with a strong muscles and an iron clad skin. :P
When you are a blogger, there comes a time called "The Writer's Block", or rather the bloggers block or a "clog", where no matter how hard you decide to blog, you just simply cannot. You either get bored to start your computer, or you can't find the right words to express how you feel, or you are simply lazy. In the past few weeks, I went through all of the above phases and when sleeping I realized that I haven't blogged for two straight weeks, this little piece of fact just wouldn't let me sleep or because I slept for 13 straight hours the night before. After about an hour of tossing and turning, I finally take out the computer to type just so that I could get a good night's sleep tonight. With almost half the hostel asleep at 2:22 am, and a super fast internet connection in the middle of the night just adds the fun of blogging.

So, what happened in my life in the past two weeks was not much interesting. In fact, not interesting at all. This includes boring lectures, sleepy Sunday's, an unexceptionally interesting sports day to which I thought I should blog but later forgot. But, now that I do not have much to say, I would preferably blog about the unexceptionally interesting sports day. Our college had organized a sports day, a day where the physically fit could showcase their talent in a variety of events, and whereas the less fortunate with a huge diet and a flabby stomach (people like us) were persuaded to take part and attend for the following two reasons.

1. To show that a lot of people have attended and participated in the whimsical sports day.

2. Read the first point again.

The day (half of which I attended) turned to be pretty alright when me and a group of friends went to eat in a restaurant which we thought was exceptionally costly but turned out to be the other way round. Hotel Ballal Tourist, had a restaurant which was totally empty, with only the five of us in the Air Conditioned part of the restaurant. The food was pretty alright, with prices not so steep but above average. The service was pretty quick, but I suppose only because the hotel was empty.

And as the clock strikes 2:45 am, I start feeling sleepy. I finally had my fill of blogging, and now I think I could get a good night sleep unlike one of my hostel friends, who claimed to have Insomnia and who used to write poems when he could not sleep.

Meanwhile, in the photo attached, you can see the perks of technology. People text or facebook each other even when they sit next to together. :P That is Shreyas Bhat and Ankitha Shetty caught in action at Hotel Ballal Tourist. :D :P

There is lots of similar, like minded, crazy stuff coming. Keep Reading Folks. :D
So, earlier during the day I was more than glad to miss lectures because there was going to be a five hour session in the speakers club (Rostrum) and to gain knowledge outside of class, I'm always game. So after the five hour motivational session which was intriguing and interesting enough at first, the speaker talked too much on motivating and he reached at a point where I preferred attending lectures after the break. True, the motivation was worth noticing, because you'd truly be motivated with a speaker of that energy inching every ounce of his body towards you, persuading you that you must get motivated or else the world shall end! The sheer enthusiasm of the speaker who kept talking since 10 in the morning till 5, with only one break in the middle is appreciated for a Ex-Military retired senior personnel, who is a professor, a mountaineer, an adventurer, a laughter club member, a yoga specialist, a fashion icon and what not feats he claimed to accomplish also who had fever since the past few days. Well, the enthusiasm of this vibrant personality is what kept me from leaving (and also the fact that the staff wouldn't let me leave, but lets leave it at that).

As I already had given up hope on myself, because an already motivated soul couldn't be more motivated except being given the right push, and that push is still waiting to be acknowledged. At first, I thought about writing all about the seminar where one of our seniors and a very good friend of mine, Manjoosha, who reads my blog regularly, lost her cool, stood up in the middle of the seated noisy crowd and screamed at the top of her voice to "SHUT UP!" when people actually went silent, with giggles doing the rounds. It was pretty funny, never had seen her in that 'Jhaansi ki raani' Avatar. :P

The first thought that came across was not many would be motivated by this moment, but it actually mattered when my room mate himself was. Me, Shreyas and Lalit were coming down to our beloved hostel, when in the under-construction Mechanical building, he saw a couple of poor worker's children playing on sand and suddenly a change of heart, and he asked me whether I'd buy some chocolates for the kids. I was lazy and sleepy and said I'd rather go to the hostel and sleep (which I later regret even thinking). So, I accompany him and we go to the canteen where there are no big chocolates. We later go to the shop downstairs to get four chocolates of uneven sizes, and head on to the construction site to find the kids scattered all over the place. Shreyas takes the trouble to chase each and every one of them, which they accept willingly after getting a confirmation from their mothers eyes. This particular act of giving my room mate displayed today made me make a special mention of him in my blog post. I actually wished to do a detailed testimonial but the Rostrum review took half the space. 'About A Friend #2' is coming soon on a special request with held since the past five months.

The photo is of a child playing on the streets of Mumbai, though her face is not visible, you can clearly picture a vibrant aura beneath.

Keep Reading Folks. :)

Love, this four letter world has the power to turn a person's life around. Earlier yesterday, when I thought what should I write in the blog today, I went through a series of events which include giving up to my room mate's persuasion of going and watching ABCD (Anybody Can Dance) which to my surprise turned out to be a fairly good movie, with pretty enthralling music and a decently plotted story. To add to that, we were already late for the movie with the buses running late, and we asking every other vehicle for a lift to the much civilized part of town and every one of them refusing without a second thought. Then after the movie, oogling at a group of foreigners and regretting how I could have gotten acquainted by asking where they were from or their names atleast? I thought of a detailed blog on all the topics I mentioned above, but the universe had other plans.

As soon as I sit on the bed to rest after the tiresome day, I spot a book I wanted to read for a long time, "I too had a love story" by Ravinder Singh. I pick that novel and start reading the book which was claimed to be "A National Bestseller", well almost every book claims that nowadays. Its like you pay the publishing a couple of hundreds more, and lo and behold, your wish comes true! I start reading the story, and I'm taken aback at first that this guy has written his own story on a page and published it, along with the fact that he was single till 25! There are only a handful of people left in this cruel world where people either understand the true meaning of love or stay single till 25. Apart from the personal life of the author, I personally thought the story gets too much lovey-dovey in the middle, but what comes at the end felt like a hard blow, straight to my heart. That book actually made a tear roll down my eye. The whole conception of relationships, love I intercepted from a handful of English movies, and sitcom's like 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' and 'How I Met Your Mother' was churned out, turned down, rejected and thrown out by a simple 200 odd page book that managed to touch my heart, and also make a tear roll down my eye which countless movies or books have failed to, over an extended period of time.

Somehow, I could relate to that story, somehow that author and his real life story managed to hit a nerve while setting a good example. With all the turmoil I went through in the past few months, somehow that book made me realize what true love is. How, when a person looks into the eyes of another and tells those three beautiful words which mean the world to the both of them, and nobody, I emphasize, nobody else could take the other person's place. And when you get going with your life being single, there comes a time in your life when you are tempted to get into another relationship as soon as possible just because you could get over the first one, but the utter fact that most "English sitcom motivated" people fail to realize is that, love happens only once in a lifetime, and that very first feeling of being loved by a person of your own age of the other gender can never be replaced even if you find Miss World begging at your feet to take her in. It just cannot be, because the very first time I looked into her deep eyes, they told me that she was the one, and when she actually did, those three words completed my life. No matter what, the morals and ethics I have cultivated over time or over a matter of a few hours of reading that book, cross out every other possibility of hooking up with another girl. Life, has changed and so has the meaning that depicts those three defining words humans cultivate. Love and Life always go hand in hand.

As I type down this post listening to the slow hums of 'Laakh Duniya Kahe' from 'Talaash', I cannot but thank that girl who I was flirting with on Valentine's day (just because I was lonely and bored, and she is a very good friend), when she guided me to read Ravin's book and asked whether I would think likewise the day after, I'm glad I went through that book because had it not been for this girl, I would not have gained the respect and love for the one I truly adored. Thank you T. :) Keep reading folks. :)
Cheers :D

Today, on a fine Valentine's day eve, people who do not have any, either go chick hunting or stay far away from the other gender. I am person, who does neither of the above. I would rather while away my time reading books, blogging or playing counter strike than woo the other gender to ultimately get our heart broken (experience speaks). So, with no prior or latter plans for the day, I while away my timing cracking jokes with Lalit, while a teacher sets his eye upon us, yelling at us in English and Kannada. The rest of the day was equally alright, with us two people fooling around.

At the end of the day, we decide to go have a snack at a shop which is almost 300 meters from the college, because the vendor right next to the college is very rude, money minded, never gives change, and apparently insulted one of my friends. So, we decide to boycott that shop from the very moment. With no choice left, and hunger rumbling in our stomach, we move on to the distant shop on the apparently very narrow national highway. I eat two eggs, buy a bottle of Mirinda apple which tastes just like Appy Fizz, and that is why we mix Mirinda with Pepsi, to get the colour combination of the below picture.

To add to that, I experienced that matrix scene when the hero just misses the bullets, where in my case, I missed the bus with just a few inches, hands spread wide apart with a bottle of the fusion of Pepsi and Mirinda in my hand. A moment to thank god, and also to say to my friend, "Dude! Did you see that? Awesome! :D"

Yes, so all in all the much hyped valentine's day did not live up to the excitement but it sure the day not ordinary. For the last few days, I have been wondering, because I cannot remember the last ordinary day in my life. True, I do not blog about every other day because either I'm lazy or the wi fi gets too slow to browse. I'd rather not surf the internet, than surf on a slow connection. It strikes 1:23 am on my clock, and it is time for bed. So, stay tuned and have fun. Keep reading. :D

Blogging, brings me closer to the world. Somehow, I feel when I blog, I'm the strongest person on the planet and that my ideas reflect on the people who read what I write. But, that is not the only reason I blog, I blog because I wish to tell my story to the world. There are people in this world who tweak their story just so that they could get famous, just so that their story could get a lot more interesting. I agree, the temptation of tweaking a real life story, to make it epic is very difficult to resist, because then the story reaches new heights, it makes that particular story impenetrable, making it legen.. wait for it.. DARY!

But, I assure my readers, I do not do that. Whatever I type in here is nothing but the truth. Every single day there is a moment in my day, when I make a note in my head to blog about that moment, either because that moment teaches me something, or it has something that would get more hits on my blog? Either way, it turns out to be an interesting read. Earlier, I used to contemplate that what if my friends, my family don't like what I post on the Internet, what if I'm criticized, but this answer 'what if?' could be answered only if I'm man enough to take the first step. To type what I feel, to convey to the world my views, the truth, no bull shit. Yes, that is right, I'm no longer afraid that the world is going to judge, because I am what I am, and I know myself better than anybody else and the freedom of speech supports my voice and ideas to reach out to the world, so why not utilize that to get more hits on this page? Its not like anybody is stopping me, is it?

So, getting to the point. Today, was the day the college was inaugurating a speakers club and the key note speaker was the renowned B.M. Hegde who is famous to the extent of having a wiki page to his name. Sadly, I cannot extract more information from wikipedia because the surprisingly, the hostel wi fi doesn't support opening wiki pages. Weird, right? So, after lighting the lamp, and a brief introduction of the speaker. He starts off with a pun, and he's really into the philosophical side at first. I like the idea how humans are their own enemies and we have to change right from our very souls to change the world. But, I had a question for him which was sadly not appreciated, because of the following two reasons,
1.) There were no sufficient Microphones in the hall.
2.) The key note speaker did not have sufficient time, a busy famous retired person, I must say.
I agree, that every person has to change for the world to change. But how could he possibly propose to change the whole world? No matter how much he tries to change every person's soul. There will be one black soul that opposes his teachings and ultimately one black sheep in the herd, ends up with a black herd of sheep. I suppose, this is one question I have to figure out for myself.

The supposedly Padmabhushan award winner claimed to be humble and polite and kind hearted, and gave all kinds of explanations supporting his theory but ultimately got pissed when a student with a strong suit of questions accused education with a money laundering - management seat business, the student was right. Every word of his question was, but apparently, one is not supposed to criticize elders or a wise man because we are taught so since childhood. He entertained questions with answers ranging from 15-20 minutes of speech, ultimately confusing the person who had asked the question to think the speaker is an eminent personality who must not be messed with. Also, criticizing a young first year lady and humiliating the poor soul on stage in front of 550 students. Her question sure made sense, but his answer did not. I bet, people do agree with this little theory of mine, but choose not to because he is a respectable person. Well, to hell with that! Just because the whole world thinks he is, you are not supposed to change your perspective about the person. You are free to think on your own and I have just done that. At the end of the day, the person who just gave a speech on motivation by either acting or reading a screen play cannot help you because it is your perspective on life that shall take you somewhere in life. So, the next time you think the person is not right, do not be afraid to man up and speak. Because the youth has a new voice, and it shall rise. Comments are welcome, and this post is in accordance with The Youth Revolt as well.
The first week of the fourth semester shall come to an end
tomorrow. And lots of stuff has happened so far, coming to terms with an
understanding in my supposedly confusing and life threatening/saving
relationship, along with the guys from Ramakrishna mission coming to our
college and preaching the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. All in all, it was a
busy week.

Today, when the lectures got really boring is when the disciples
of the disciples of Swami Vivekananda came to our rescue. We were all of sudden
summoned with almost the rest of our college to cleanse our minds and souls.
Apparently, all I could write in this blog is thump thump thump. Because that
is what my new headphones say all the time to my brain when it tries to think
what I should type in here. Yes, so getting back to the point. Those guys came,
demonstrated a few breathing exercises for meditating. Sung a few songs,
enacted Swami Vivekananda, where a person in orange robe pretended to be
the holy saint, which he was nowhere near, and his acting got funnier. Some
people were selected from the audience and asked to ask scripted questions, in
which one of my classmates flipped off and asked something out of the plot, to
which the guy in orange robe (I hate calling him even close to Swamiji.) had to
think on his feet, and said something in Kannada which I don't think was
justified enough. Apart from that, the day was regular.

Today being a Sunday, we had a whole day to kill and going to
Mangalore to eat was the sanest possible thing in our range of ideas (which
included setting a plastic bucket on fire?) Yes, so we went there, had our full
of Nasi Goreng (some Indonesian dish) and went straight out to by a pair of
headphones. New headphones do sound great I must say, with all the BASS and
shit. Also, when I was in Reliance Time out which is a store where you get
almost everything. I bought a pouch, because I needed one badly. The funniest
thing happened there. I was standing in line to pay hundred rupees for a pouch
which actually cost 20 bucks, and behind me was a gorgeous girl checking out
some books and talking to her friend criticizing authors and laughing along. I
turned back to see what nuisance was all this about, and to be true, I could
not take my eyes off her eyes! I was dumbstruck for two seconds just when I
pretended to look at my friend, Abhilash and was thus saved from
major embarrassment. I didn't dare look back after that, there was an
eerie silence for two seconds, and I lost my opportunity. I payed up for the
pouch, went outta the store with Abhilash, looked back to see her staring at me
with her big beautiful eyes again, with a small hint of tender smile on her
face, I freaked out, because once you are fresh out of a serious relationship,
the mere mention of a relationship gives you the chills. So, yes I freaked out,
got the hell outta there and lost my second opportunity as well. Two freaking opportunities
and I lost them, just like that!

I forgot about that soon, when I get something to eat and that KFC
Sparkles Virgin Mojito (pronounced Mohee-tho which the KFC worker didn't know)
took the edge off things. With a light tinge of lemon and mint, with pudina
leaves floating on the top that sweet drink brought me to heaven and back. I
have a pic attached in here with Abhilash, The Virgin Mojito, and The Chicken
Burger. We make our way back to the hostel, all the way in the bus I regret how
I messed up two opportunities of getting to know someone new, doing something I
had never done before, talked to random stranger (girl). I re-enact the meeting
in my mind, somehow making it cooler for me, I could have talked to her the
very first time, then we could have exchanged smiles, probably names, then
coffee, then numbers, then I would not like to describe all the details here.
Or, I could have noticed that small hint of a smile, smiled back, walked up to
her and exchanged kind gestures, then maybe coffee, then maybe number, then
maybe the details which should not be disclosed. What I did regret was, I did
not lose one, but two opportunities with a sad look on my face! However, I've
kept my hopes high. Hopefully, if such a situation arises in the near future, I
could just Man up, and say something Manly that could impress that particular
girl so much that she could fall straight away? Stepping into Neil Patrick
Harris's infamous character Barney Stinson, except suiting up (because a suit
costs a fortune) I could attempt every other trick in the book to meet a female
blogger who is probably blogging her story, right now?

Sit tight and keep reading folks, the fun is just about to start. ;)

back to typing shit the usual way. And, did I tell you it feels really good
when I type funny, weird and interesting shit into this keyboard? Yeah, it
does. Yes, so I used to log in to my blogger account just to check
whether people read my blog or not? And well, I find it intriguing but people
actually do read the shit that I type. So, to not discourage the regular
readers, I have lots of blog posts planned in the next upcoming days. There comes a time in a blogger's life when he comes across some crazy,

story is definitely going in my blog." But if the blogger has whatsoever
no access to Internet connection, the bat-shit-insane story soon loses its
bat-shit-insanity and it becomes a normal boring post. I have crossed similar
and much more interesting stuff that I decided I should share on the Internet,
but time makes memory fade and so does the spark. I'll be obliged to part away
with those stories as soon as I get comfortable once again typing about the
daily shit that goes through my life. So, yes the fourth semester of my professional course has started,
and boy should I say this shit gets interesting day after day.
Micro-controllers, processors, Hardware description language, 8051 micro
controller and what not! Well, that is enough to keep us on our toes all the
while, but we rarely do that. Apart from that, my mom and uncle came to visit
me to the hostel, and the last three lectures being free for the day (courtesy
of the diploma entry students), we went out for lunch at the renowned Hotel
Suraj International in Bedra (Moodbidri). We ordered lots of stuff, but the
best part was the starter (Chicken Pahadi Kebab) with some green chicken gravy
and runny white omlete on top of it, with pudina leaves and carrot cut
strategically as a flower dressing. It was a beautiful dish, and taste came
hand in hand with it. The rest of the full course meal was my all time favorite Chicken
Fried Rice and Manchurian Gravy, which tasted as usual, salty and the way I
like it to be.
Later came the 'The Thousand pillar temple', where we spotted
three Frenchmen. One actually, because the other two were old ladies. I
was staring at the utterly beautiful chandelier and the pillars when that
elderly Frenchwoman comes up to me, and says something which went
like this, "Its so profuso" with a big smile on her wrinkled fair
face. I could not make out whether she said "perfecto" or "profuso"
or what, but there was an "O" in the end and it definitely meant that
she shared my feeling about the chandelier and the pillars being beautiful. I
smiled and nodded with a "yes" that barely made out of my mouth. My
mama went around the temple clicking pictures by donating 100 rupees to the
temple and making the "Photography Strictly Prohibited" area to
"Click Pictures Till Your Heart Is Fulfilled" area, and the French
followed suit with their huge cameras and intriguing accent. A young couple
(probably school or college going love struck folks) came there soon enough
raising all eyebrows of the local elderly, they went around the temple a few
times. Three, to be precise because we had not completed even a single round
while they completed their quota of the day. The first round, they were quiet
when they crossed us and managed to stay apart. The second time they went
through, the guy had arms on the girls shoulder to which the old person who had
kindly taken the donation from us with folded hands, came with a sober look on
his face and apparently said something to the couple which made them take the
third round with hands in their own pockets. The French people didn't
really seem to care. Well, if you watch French movies, you'd know the reason. Both
the French and the Love-birds left soon enough, and I got reading
about the history of the temple. The temple was built in 1630 and well the
temple has an intriguing Nepali architecture. How did the Nepal architecture
get to the south of India was interesting enough to keep me hooked. But, it was
a long story, and due to the time constraint, we had to leave. I have to read
that story, and for that I have to go back, some day. There are lots of blog posts coming, also the bat-shit-insane stuff that
I'm trying to revive and relive. Keep reading folks. :D P.S.- The attached photograph is the Pahadi Chicken and the Roof of The Thousand pillar temple. :P Cheers. :D

It is funny how vacations fly by so fast. Yesterday, I came home, and tomorrow I go back. The whole duration of two weeks, seems more like a day or two. Its funny how, I wanted to blog about this post all the while, but I find the time to actually do it one day before going back to the development of civilization.

The exams were over, and it was time for the packing and the excitement to show itself, because the day after tomorrow was the day when we were going to step on the land which had taught us everything, Mumbai, the city of dreams. Well, almost everything, if not all exactly. So, we pack our bags with utter enthusiasm and vigor the previous day itself in midst of the anguish of our souls and constantly at work minds.

That day passes with a blink of an eye, and soon enough we are all set on moving to the railway station which is about 40 kilometers give or take from our Heavenly abode (The Boys Hostel). The station was pretty far, and we had to walk all the way. However, there was one glitch. Apparently, our tickets were not confirmed. We had our tickets book way ahead of time through an agent, because we thought he is a trustworthy guy. Obviously, we were wrong! Because, though we booked tickets on 5th December 2012 with full payment in cash, this son of a gun booked the tickets 3 days before the train left January 2013! The agent thought of being super smart, so he tore out the dates strategically from the tickets, but he forgot that month and the year exist too! We obviously came to know, but trusted him enough because the previous time in an almost similar situation, he did confirm our tickets.

Underneath the hot sun, we eagerly waited for the ticket to get confirmed, but it did not. We checked over and over again, until two of our friends succumbed to the heat, bailed on us, and shed out 1500/- a ticket to go in a luxury bus. Well, the perks of being rich you could say? We don't blame them, but people talk now, don't they?

BS apart, the agent asked us to bribe the Ticket Checker, but we refused. Hence, we had to travel with no confirmed seats sitting next to toilets and doors, and not sleeping at all. There was however a group of friends, who had one empty seat and offered us their seat for the night. Apart from the getting angry, the abuses and the getting angry again, all we could do was put our luggage in a corner and sit on our own chappals. I have always travelled on a confirmed ticket, and travelling on waiting list seems pretty daunting but one has to experience this atleast once, I tell you that. I remember roaming in the train when I was a kid, and sulk at people who sat near toilets or doors because they did not have seats. I now was the person to be sulked at by some other passer by kid, who will apparently be surely sulked at in the future. I am sure of that. The sad part was, people who had booked tickets after us had got confirmed seats, but we had to roam in the train like seatless souls.

As a matter of fact it was pretty much fun, also cold. We read books, played games on PSP, sat or rather stood at the window. Roamed all around the train as if we ruled it, smiled at beautiful people, children, foreigners and girls alike. Apart from the turmoil of the journey, the cherry on the cake was we stood there for each other, and not back out. We looked after our luggage in shifts and slept for two hours each turn by turn. We ate Cadbury silk orange which was fabulous, because it was all melty and we got to it just as they do in the advertisement. We got down at every stop, claiming to be land on that particular place and boasting about it. What fascinated me was, when I was reading "The Story Of My Experiments With Truth", the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi, an old man asked for the book, and he kept on reading for hours together in the cold with a mild smile on his face. Right before I was about to doze off, he returned the book, and thanked me for it with a smile. It was as if the guy was enlightened all of a sudden. I tried reading the book for some time, but the cold did not let me. My turn to sleep waited for me, and off I went. That book still waits for me in my bag, to be read. I hope, the day of my enlightenment comes soon enough.

We reach Mumbai, and walk down the platform as the Five Guys Who Made It Big in some Bigshot movie poster, in slow motion. Suddenly a TC asks for our ticket, I flash it to him like the fancy FBI people flash their badge and move along the platform. All in all, it was an priceless experience, I actually pity for the two friends who bailed on us that day. Well, I guess that's how it was meant to be. Keep reading folks. :)

Its been really long, since I last blogged about my life. Much of that I owe to exams, the tiring (but total fun) journey from Mangalore to Mumbai and well, I do not have an internet connection at home. So, here I am blogging in my friends home, who was generous enough to give me all seasons of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Two and a Half Men", and also giving me free wi fi to use till my eager heart cries out contently.

I am on a time constraint here, I wish to write about the turmoil we went through in the train, and how the agent through which we booked tickets, utterly fooled us right in front of our very own displeasing and stupid eyes. Well, I am very keen on putting that story real soon, about the whole journey with chapters and shit like that. I gotta start writing that real soon, and come back to my generous friend so that he lets me upload the story to my blog. Well, that could take some time provided now I have FRIENDS, HIMYM and TAAHM to watch. So, until then, live your life to YOUR fullest capacity, because as of now, you have only one life. Spread the word, keep reading people. :D PEACE! :D

P.S- This is an image of a bridge rectifier circuit that could be used to convert AC to pulsating DC, and put a capacitor at the end with a potentiometer, and you get a variable DC supply. My friend tried this out, and it works. You can do that too! If you stumble any roadblocks in the process, google the problem or ask me, and I'll ask my friend. Or, you can ask my friend, but you do not know him! :P Its a very simple circuit really. And I guess, I just crossed the threshold of the P.S. note. :P

I've been through a lot lately, and I do not have words to express it as of now. As of exams, I have only 3 days left for my exam and I didn't start. As of now, I do not care about exams. Exams come and go, it is the knowledge that matters. Worry not, and thy shall succeed is my new found motto. Let's see how far it can get me. For those who log in to read my blog at least once a day, I'm really sorry folks. I actually have no words to type, plus my internet connection has been barred from the college because I was downloading a Discovery TV series, on "How Stuff Works". Until further notice, and with a heavy heart, I bid my readers adieu :(

"The world, wants us to change." These are the first words that ring in my head, when I get up late in the morning and see my room mate getting ready to go to the library and study. With only 10 days left for the final semester exams, I wonder what is going to happen of me, and my dear brothers who follow suit. While waking up, a friend comes and asks me to clean his phone infected with virus. So, as a gesture of kindness, I take out my laptop, scan his phone with the antivirus, and hand it back over. Then, was the moment when Ajith (the friend I described in "About a Friend" told me I had made some errors in my previous blog post). So, I rectified it in a moment or so, and started wondering at the number of comma's I have used in the blog post. It is truly a large number. That started me thinking, comma's are used in every other language, be it English, Hindi, Marathi, French, Russian? I'm not sure about Kannada though. Also, I do not want to dedicate a whole post only about Comma's! So, people I need feedback! I need to know, what do you like to read? What keeps you on the edge? What will make you come to my blog every single hour of the day? Or atleast every single day? I love to write, that is true. But what is the point in writing, if people do not read it? Or if people do not like what I read?

You, yes you right there reading this post must comment what you want me to write. So please do me a favour and type everything that you want to read in the comment box, or in the facebook page, because I cannot read minds. :P Peace out.

Sometimes I wonder how life takes its treacherous plans, executes it on
us, and does not want to tell us, about what happens next. What has my life
amounted too? All of those 19 years of useless ranting around, watching TV,
movies, wasting time eating, sleeping? Doing, thinking, wondering stuff, that make
no sense. Until some years back, when the keyboard started making sense to me,
when life came like a puzzle, half solved, when I couldn't resist to type, not
because I wanted to type, but because I fancied people in fancy Hollywood movies
and the speed with which they type. No, I did not attend typing classes,
neither did I practiced typing. All I did was chat on Facebook, day and night,
with friends and strangers alike. I started typing a lot, chatting with people
from Hawaii, Boston, England, Canberra, New York, and people from different
time zones all around the world. Their English varied, and so did the
politeness, the way they type, the way they express themselves. Having gone
through all that, now, I could pretend to be a smart ass guy from MIT, Boston,
or a single working mother from New York. Moreover, pretending to be a Chinese
person is effortless, as far as the other person does not turn out to be
Chinese.

As far as my English is concerned, people find it hard to believe, but
watch 3 Hollywood movies a day for a year, and your English would
be appreciably fluent. Well, it worked for me. One good thing about
the Television set, and all the movies I have watched so far. Blogging, on the
other hand came as an interest to me all of a sudden. I did not learn to type,
but I learned in the process of making new friends. The only reason I type, is
because I feel better, when I put all that I'm thinking on a keyboard with a
memory or a piece of paper. Writing with a pen never fascinated me, given my
bad handwriting, but writing on the keyboard always does.

Now, as the clock strikes 1500 hours on the 5th of December, 2012, I'm
not wasting my study holidays studying throughout the day. But instead, I'm
doing what I love the most. Blog post. There are only 11 more days for the
semester exams to start, and I know I've to study, but I've not yet started,
because I could not start studying without typing all this onto a valid
keyboard. Exams, what they do is, get into the brains of the people without a
strong will, and make them study 19 hours a day, which ultimately takes a toll
on their health. Give it a rest, maintain a strong will, and study one day
before the exam, watch miracles happen. Because, it was meant to be this way, I
do not know what happens next, whether this post becomes an Internet sensation
or the world ends on 21st December, but I try to make sense of it
all, because I believe, LIFE was meant to be.
Keep reading folks.

We decided to try something different and go eat in The Suraj "International" Hotel which recently opened its branch in Moodabidri, a small town 30 kilometres from Mangalore. Well, after persuading all my friends to go there and try something to eat, they agreed and we were on our way.
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by numerous people in black coats and ties, and they guided us towards a seat. Pretty good start, I must say. I do not have much knowledge about the stars that hotels get according to their neatness and luxury or whatever. So, with great contemplation, I finally asked my know-it-all friend, Karthik, whether this hotel was 3 star hotel? He gave me a weird look as if I asked one of his kidneys to donate( this is a movie dialogue, I can't remember which ). Yes, so he enlightens me about how hotels are rated, according to the cleanliness and stuff, how every nook and corner of the hotel should be cleaned, unlike the corner of a window pane in the hotel which was noticeably unclean, and how the tables should not be numbered like the latter hotel did it. Thus, it turns out that this Hotel has no stars but still a fancy restaurant to eat. Good food. Good service. No tax. I especially loved the plate arrangements with fork and spoons and the glass arranged symmetrically throughout the table. Plus, we can eat non veg on the same table, with our beloved pure vegetarian friend because they have separate vegetarian kitchens! The food is not priced too high, nor too low, nor average. You could call it a little much more above average.
The overall experience was good, just before an argument between my friends, about how in 'Burj Al Arab' they'll make you any dish you order provided you give the recipe, but then another friend argued how could they make it if we do not have the recipe and we still want to eat the dish. Well, without doubt the latter person won. Here's an image of the symmetric arrangement of the table. It is pretty impressive (in the ambiance of Moodbidri at least). Keep reading folks. ;)
