That’s right, it seems us Legacy and Legacy Southpaw users have been left out in the rain with Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood.

I was shocked that it only has Default and Southpaw thumbstick configurations seeing as the first game had all four layouts. At least if you are a Southpaw user you can rejoice, because there is an option for that in both stick and button configurations.

This serves as a great example not to assume that a game will have all four standard thumbstick configurations just because the first one did. If I didn’t have a Legacy modded controller I would be “calling” out many words that aren’t “Juarez,” and heading straight back to the store I bought it from.

Have you been wondering if Wolfenstein 3D for XBLA and the PSN offers alternate controls? No? In that case, skip this post entirely and continue about your business.

But if you answered “yes,” then hopefully the news that Wolfenstein 3D lacks any alternate control options won’t cause a major amount of distress for you. Although, I tend to think that many of us expected this to be the case due to the title’s age.

While the Activision-published Wolfenstein scheduled to arrive this August won’t feature Mecha Hitler, hopefully it will include our preferred control options. Games published by Activision have a good history of offering alternative controls, so with any luck, Wolfenstein will follow suit.

[Thanks, Thy Master]

Soulwarrior recently scoped out a demo of the Playstation 3’s action / sandbox game, inFAMOUS, which was developed by Sucker Punch Productions.

As you were likely able to decipher from the post’s title, inFAMOUS doesn’t offer special consideration for those who prefer to use alternate controls. The left stick is used to run, while the right stick is for looking around.

Yesterday evening I was able to grab a copy of Terminator Salvation. I hate to deliver bad news two posts in a row… but low and behold, Southpaw and Legacy configurations are MIA. The only form of modification that can be utilized is Y axis inversion.

Considering that the game’s developer, GRIN, also omitted alternate controls in Wanted: Weapons of Fate and Bionic Commando, the lack of options in Terminator Salvation are not surprising.

May hasn’t been a good month for us overall - but hopefully the upcoming Damnation (out May 26) will deliver the goods. Or you can check out Red Faction: Guerrilla when it arrives in early June, as the demo was fairly fun and offered the four standard stick layouts.
