As always, our hope is to get a new or curious reader something different to enjoy. YES YES YES YES YES! Here you go! We have a major Marvel event that completely centers on a FEMALE character (Keep an ear out for my “Noob’s Views’ episode that will highlight female characters in today’s market). Captain Marvel has a rich tradition tied to the Avengers. This is an all new story, that promises to do something more books should do… Get you interested in past Marvel stories. The hint is the words “Vicious Echoes” included in the actual solicit. Hopefully that means past villains. However, these villains seem to be symptomatic of the main problem. Not the main problem itself. We will have to find that out together. Jump on this if you have any Avengers interest at all!

We dodged a bullet. The world was SUPPOSED to end. The Mayan calendar ended in 2012. That was supposed to be it. Coincidentally, my John Wayne calendar ends on 12/31/13. Now THAT has me worried! I mean, I’m much more ready to believe John Wayne then I am to believe the Mayans. No slam on the Mayans, but this is John Frigging Wayne. The Illuminati have their DNA preserved in safe storage at the Vatican’s secret library, and our bases on Mars and the Moon. The American dollar was supposed to crash in 2001, but the momentum has carried it thus far. FEMA is building concentration camps all over the country, with 12 foot walls replete with barbed wire, and they are calling them “Aid stations” (at a faster rate than ever before). There’s a planet sized metallic object in our solar system, heading directly at Earth. Scientists have no idea what it is. Could be natural. Could be the Mother Ship. Over 40 soldiers died battling at an underground Alien DNA experimentation, and feeding center in Dulce, New Mexico. (There were only 4 survivors. 3 moved to Canadian protection and the Canadians refuse to let the U.S. visit them for fear of assassination attempt. The one survivor that stayed in our country, blew the whistle. He lost half his hand, and his foot in the battle, and within 2 years of publicly speaking about it, he was found murdered in his apartment after 12 previous attempts on his life had failed*). Add to that, Cher has apparently, completely stopped aging, and I think John Wayne sounds even more credible. This comic explores an end of the world scenario. More important than any of that, is that it is done by comic legend JOHN BYRNE! Let’s see how he goes with this story.

*Mostly everything I said in this article can be found on the internet. It is ‘mostly’ satire. As I have the highest esteem of our armed forces, I am including a link about the “Battle of Dulce” out of respect for Phil Schneider who was brave enough to speak out. If what he said is true, the worst travesty in American history has taken place, and they have kept it from us.

I love this kind of thing. The solicit is pretty descriptive, and should let you know whether you like this kind of Sci-Fi, Mystery, Old Traveler, Mysterious Beings, type of story. It is also double sized so you will get your money’s worth if you are interested. Enjoy.

Coulson Lives! ABC to air S.H.E.I.L.D. series. Among the cast are return favorite, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge.

So who is it going to be?

It is a question most comic fans have considered for years. We find out one big screen interpretation of any comic character is ready to hit Hollywood, we get excited. X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Dylan Dog … well ok, not necessarily all the time. The point is, whenever there is a chance to see comics making the jump to flesh and blood entertainment, we get giddy. When I found out about the S.H.E.I.L.D. TV series, I was skeptical. I figured I better not get my hopes up again. I was highly perturbed when the Locke & Key TV show bit the dust. On Friday, May 10, however, ABC officially announced that it is going to happen.

Would Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. be my first choice for a TV show? Nope. Second perhaps? Uh-uh. Let’s just say it was not high on my list. Clark Gregg’s now infamous Agent Phil Coulson should be a big draw for movie and television fans who will remember him from the Iron-Man movies, Thor and Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD. Adding Ming-Na to the cast will bring dramatic validity to the show. She is very much like a bridge between different genres staring in both ER and SGU: Stargate Universe.

The only concern I have with the show is will it be too close to programs like Smallville or Arrow. Granted, I like both of those shows but I do not want to invest time in carbon copy.
