With the release of latest version of sn0wbreeze you can jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS on latest 3.1.3 firmware while conserving your iPhone baseband while later on you can use ultrasn0w (for 04.26.08) or blacksn0w (for 05.11.07) to unlock your iPhone.

This guide is for users with 05.11.07 bsaeband to unlock their iPhone 3G/3GS on latest 3.1.3 firmware.

Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3 Firware with 05.11.07 Baseband

1. Once you have jaikbroken your iPhone 3G/3GS open Cydia on your iPhone.

2. Now select on Manage tab at bottom and choose Sources.

3. Now you will have to add repository, to do this tap on edit and then Add button now type following repository URL

4. After the source has been added tap on “Return to Cydia”.

5. Now go to Search menu from bottom menu, type “blacksn0w” and press search.

6. Now tap on the blacksn0w and choose Install from the top right menu.

7. After installation complete restart your iPhone and insert your SIM.

8. Here you go, now your iPhone 3G/3GS is completely unlocked and ready to use with any carrier.

Sn0wbreeze has just released its latest version to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 firmware which can be used to jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS with older bootrooms without upgrading their baseband, complete guide can be found here.

After jailbreaking iPhone 3.1.3 firmware using sn0wbreeze you can unlock your iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS having 04.26.08 baseband with ultrasn0w to make it work with any carrier.

Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3 Firware

Jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3 Firmware using Sn0wbreeze

Sn0wbreeze 1.3 is out now which can jailbreak latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware on iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS, earlier I shared guide to jailbreak 3.1.3 firmware using redsn0w however, it doesn’t all you to jailbreak iPhone 3GS and neither it can do unlock for iPhone 3G. However, sn0wbreeze 1.3 for 3.1.3 firmware can do that all.

Jailbreak iPhone 2G/3G/3GS 3.1.3 Firmware

1. First download and install iTunes 9.0.3

2. Now make a backup of your device using iTunes.

3. After that Download sn0wbreeze 1.3 and start it.

4. Now choose Simple Mode (you can choose expert mode if you’re comfortable with it)

5. Next browse the original iPhone 3.1.3 firmware for your respective device (download links provided at bottom of this post)

6. After sn0wbreeze will verify .ipsw file it will prompt you with verification complete message then click Next there.

7. Then click Yes when asked for “Do you want to activate your iPhone?”, if you want to unlock it later otherwise you can select No if you want to hooked up with official carrier.

8. Now sn0wbreeze will start creating custom firmware file.

9. Once custom .ipsw firmware is ready go back to iTunes again and choose your device from the left menu and click “Restore” while holding shift button and browse through custom firmware file which you just created using sn0wbreeze.

10. Now let iTunes do the rest of process, and after update completes your iPhone will restarts with complete jailbroken iPhone 3.1.3 firmware.

Unlock your iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3 Firmware

You can use ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone with 04.26.08 baseband or blacksn0w is also an option for users with 05.11.07 baseband.

Note: iPhone 3G and 3GS new bootrooms users are requested to stay away from this firmware release.

Jailbreak and Unlock iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware

iPhone Dev team has released latest version of its infamous jailbreaking tool redsn0w 0.9.4 to jailbreak and unlock latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware on iPhone 3G (no unlock), iPhone 2G, iPod Touch 2G (older models) and iPod Touch 1G.

Those with unlock iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS beware of this update and do not upgrade to this firmware as there is no unlocking solution available for now. While iPod Touch 2G (new models) and iPod Touch 3G owners should also wait a while because redsn0w 0.9.4 will not be able to jailbreak latest firmware on these devices.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware:

1. Update/Restore your device with the original 3.1.3 firmware using iTunes, direct links can be found here.

2. Now run redsn0w 0.9.4 and browse respective original 3.1.2 firmware, as redsn0w will not be able to validate 3.1.3 firmware.

3. Now select “Install Cydia” and “Already Pwned” and click Next.

4. Now switch off your device while it is plugged in to computer and click Next.

5. Now follow the on screen instructions and redsn0w will start patching firmware.

6. Now let the redsn0w do jailbreaking process and it will prompt the “Done” message once jailbreaking completed.

Now to unlock your iPhone 2G follow the instructions:

1. Open Cydia and install “BootNeuter” package.

2. Restart your iPhone and when BootNeuter starts set he settings as show in the image below

3. And that’s it you will have complete jailbreak and unlock iPhone 2G.

Apple has released iPhone 3.1.3 firmware today, this firmware update doesn’t have any major changes apart from some minor bug fixes.

List of changes in iPhone 3.1.3 firmware follow as:

1. Accuracy improvement of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS

2. Resolves issue where 3rd party apps would not launch in some instances

3. Bug fixes that may cause an application to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard

All of you who are using official iPhone with contract can update to latest firmware by plugging in your device to iTunes 9.0.3

iPad Theme for iPhone and iPod Touch

iPad is making quite a buzz since its launch on last Wednesday and most of the people are quite eager to try it out buy unfortunately it’s not going to come out any time soon than April 2010.

However, you might know that iPad also has iPhone OS functionality and so it has quite similar interface like iPhone and iPod Touch. So, today I am going to share a hack with you which give you a chance to change the look and feel of your iPhone/iPod Touch to iPad.

But before we begin let me clear, this guide requires Jailbroken iPhone.

Convert your iPhone and iPod Touch into iPad

First goto Cydia and tap on the Search button at bottom, now search for “Winterboard” package there. Install this package using the install button at top right corner. (If you have already installed Winterboard then you may skip this step).

Once Winterboard installed, go back to Cydia again and search for “Simple iPad Theme” package and install it aswell.

Once installation complete, Open the Winterboard application by taping its icon on the home screen and select “Simple iPad Theme” and press Home button.

Here you go now you will have same interface as iPad on your iPhone/iPod Touch.

iPad – Apple Tablet Device Launched by Steve Jobs

The big day is here and all rumors which were surrounding for almost a decade have come to an end with the official launch of iPad (yes this is the official name), the long-awaited tablet device from Apple.

iPad is the middle device between the smartphones and laptop, says Apple. This 0.5 inch thick beauty with 1.5 pounds of weight launch today at Apple’s Media event by Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Let’s talk about some specs (because we love it). Apple iPad has 1GHz of Apple’s A4 chip,. 9.7 inch of IPS display with full capacitive multi-touch capability with 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.

iPad has fully functional accelerometer, compass, speaker and mic, dock connector but most surprisingly the thing which amazed the live audience aswell as all the apple fan boys is it’s battery life, iPad has 10 hours of battery life with a month of standby time. That’s really amazing.

Talking about the OS, iPad runs a bit modified version of iPhone OS and have quite similar interface like one we have seen in iPhone. iPad has ability to run all the currently available iPhone apps out of the box that too on full screen mode.It has a virtual keyboard which makes the usage experience more realistic.

Apple want its tablet to do a lot more than just browsing, gaming, mailing, videos and music so they have built up a fully compatible version of iWork for iPad on which they have been working for a year.

iPad starts from$499 and go all the way to $599 and $699 for 16,32 and 64GB models respectively. While the 3G models will cost $429, $729 and $829. The WiFi models of iPad will be available worldwide with next 60 days while the 3G models will start shipping within approximate 90 days.

Apple Tablet Real Image and it’s Truth

Yesterday I shared alleged leaked photo of Apple Tablet which will be announcing on Wednesday. However, it didn’t stop there and I am back now with another so called real image of Apple Tablet.

This one is shared by Dustin Curtis on his posterous blog earlier today. The pictures which he shared do look quite amazing but still lots of people are raising questions on its authenticity.

This was the original picture, while the Cool Rise attested it to be fake with the help of noise profile, according to which the noise texture of tablet is completely different from the rest of the image, as if the tablet has been added separately on the original image.
