Various reports have been suggesting that Apple is planning to launch it’s latest version of flagship smartphone iPhone 5 (that’s what we are expecting it to be named) on October 7^th but before the launch Apple is also planning to launch a pre-order camping sometime in the last week of September. While there have already been rumors about Apple holding it’s fall event somewhere in the first week of September.

According to various sources Apple is considering either October 7^th or October 14^th for iPhone 5 launch. Same sources suggest that company is also yet to choose the pre-order date that may either be Thursday, September 29^th or Friday, September 30^th.

There have been rumors of Apple working on producing iPhone 5 this fall which may feature a larger screen display, latest Apple’s A5 processor, an eight mega-pixel camera, lighter and thinner body bundled with upcoming iOS 5.

iPhone Dev Team has just released beta version of it’s jailbreaking tool redsn0w, Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 can tethered jailbreak the recently announced iOS 5 beta version. This jailbreak release is purely for iPhone Developers with registered UDIDs at Apple’s server with genuine iOS 5 Beta firmware link. Right now Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 is only available for Mac users.

Note: This release is purely for developers registered with iPhone developer program also please don’t try this on your carrier lock device as this will update your phone baseband and will leave you with a lock status. Once again this is a tethered release. So, you will have to connect your device to computer every time it restarts.

THIS IS A TETHERED JAILBREAK ONLY! No new exploits are being exposed with this jailbreak (it uses geohot’s limera1n bootrom exploit), but that comes at a cost. You will need to use redsn0w to “Just boot tethered now” to be able to use many things, including Cydia and Safari. If you see a white icon for Cydia, or if Cydia or Safari crash when you open them, it’s because you didn’t boot tethered.

The way redsn0w works, you will very likely be able to use this on upcoming iOS5 betas, just by continuing to point redsn0w at the 5.0b1 IPSW. So keep that IPSW handy!

Google has released a revamped version of it’s search application with a new name and a complete new look. The app is now called “Google Search App” which looks much more stylish and easier yet faster in use.

Here is what Google has to say about it latest release and new features.

First, you’ll see that there are now more ways to interact with the app. When browsing through search results or looking at a webpage, you can swipe down to see the search bar or change your settings. For those who use other Google apps, there’s an Apps button at the bottom of the screen for rapid access to the mobile versions of our products.

Second, we’ve made it easier to pick up searching where you left off. If you leave the app and come back later, you’ll be able either to start a new search right away (just tap in the search box to type, hit the microphone button to do a voice search or tap on the camera icon to use Google Goggles) or get back to exactly where you were by tapping on the lower part of the page.

Finally, there are a number of improvements we’ve made to everything else you love in the app, including Google Goggles, Voice Search, Search with My Location, Gmail unread counts and more. There’s a lot in the app, so we’ve added a simple help feature to let you explore it. Access this by tapping the question mark above the Google logo.

They did it again! iPad 2 has just released last Friday and the esteemed hacker and developer has already did manage to Jailbreak it.

As tweeted the proof on the Twitter where Cydia is running on white iPad 2.

SO, one thing is sure now that iPad 2 is exploit has been decoded. Now lets see when the jailbreaking tool makes public appearance as no ETA has been announced so far.

Apple is probably the only company that always is in the news because of the most number of rumors and leak stuffs. It’s time now for the iPhone 5 leaked images, at least that’s what iDealsChina claims to have.

This Chinese site has claimed to get the engineering diagrams for the upcoming iPhone 5, which is imminent to release this summer.

The alleged images seems much similar to iPhone 4 except the large screen which can spotted in the pictures above. The screen size seems to be larger than the current model (probably 4 inch display), which is leaving less space on the front panel.

This is just the beginning as there are lots of leaked images yet to land, if past lore continues.

Right now orders are just accepting from US store while the international launch is due for 25th of this month in 26 other countires.

After all the round of rumors and leaked stuff iPad 2 has finally made an official public appearance at the Yerba Beuna Center of Arts, yesterday. Where Apple CEO Steve Jobs flaunted off to the audience.

The original iPad revolutionize the tablet industry and set a never matching standard, but it didn’t stop there because the iPad 2 even knocked off its predecessor.

Design

The iPad 2 has got a whole new sleek and stylish design, which is almost 22% thinner than the original iPad, quoting exactly it is 8.8 mm which is even thinner than the iPhone 4. It is built off a whole unibody aluminum that will be available in two colors Black and White right from the day one unlike the White iPhone 4 that didn’t ever shown up.

Processor

The iPad 2 has got a powerful processor upgrade, which comes with a Dual-core A5 chip, which would speed up your usage experience to almost twice as fast.

Graphics

iPad has never been considered as a just an eBook reader but it is a lot more than that, it let’s your surf internet, check mails, play games – oh! That reminds me of its next upgrade that makes iPad 2’s graphics performance up to 9x faster than its forerunner that means you can play games more smoothly with much better graphics than ever.

Cameras

First of all a sincere apology to all my reader for not being active on this blog since past few months. It’s been 2 months since I had updated anything on my blog. Reason? I was stuck in many things one of which is worth to mention is my iPhone Developement venture, more details on this later!

Limera1n has been released for iOS 4.1 which lets you jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Tocuh 4G/3G and iPad on Windows, as Mac version is still in development.

Here is the step by step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

Note: Before proceeding further with the jailbreak guide and quick WARNING for all those who rely on unlock iPhones, Do not update to iOS 4.1 using limera1n as it will result in upgrading your baseband also which will make it impossible to unlock for now.

Step 1: Download Limera1n for Windows

Step 2: Connect your iPhone with computer using USB cable and start Limera1n.

Step 3: Now Click “make it ra1n” button.

Step 4: Now follow the on screen steps

• Wait for iPhone to go in recovery mode
• Now hold “Home + Power” buttons
• Release the Power button
• Now wait for the device to enter DFU mode

Now you will see the ra1ndrop icon on your iPhone and so Limera1n will beging the jailbreaking process on your device.

Step 5: Once the process is done you will see the “Your jailbreak is done” message.

Step 6: Now Start Limera1n app on your iPhone and choose Cydia over there.

Step 7: Now restart your iPhone and voila here you have jailbreakone iPhone 4/ iPhone 3GS.

iH8sn0w has release latest version of it’s jailbreaking tool Sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 which lets you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPod Touch 3G, 2G and 1G on Windows PC.

Sn0wbreeze works in the same manner as PwnageTool for MAC, it creates custom .ipsw firmware which you can use to upgrade to jailbroken iOS 4.1 firmware.

Sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 has been released which lets you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G, 2G and 1G on Windows PC.

Sn0wbreeze works same like PwnageTool for MAC, it creates a custom firmware which you can use to upgrade your iPhone without upgrading the baseband. Since it doesn’t upgrade your iPhone’s baseband you can carrier unlock it using ultrasn0w after jailbreaking.

Before proceeding further checkout the list of devices supported by sn0wbreeze 2.0.1:

• iPhone 2G
• iPhone 3G
• iPhone 3G[S] (new bootrom must be jailbroken on iOS 3.1.2)
• iPhone 3G[S] (old bootrom must be jailbroken on previous firmware but not with Sprint or JailbreakMe)
• iPod Touch 1G
• iPod Touch 2G – non MC models

Now it’s time for complete guide on how to jaibreak with sn0wbreeze 2.0.1

1. Download and Install iTunes 10.

2. Download stock iOS 4.1 firmware for corresponding device (Download links here)

3. Download latest sn0wbreeze 2.0.1

4. Backup your iPhone/iPod Touch using iTunes for safety purpose.

5. Now that you have meet all the pre jailbreaking requirements, start sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 and choose “Expert Mode”

6. After that, browse your corresponding 4.1 firmware .ipsw file. Sn0wbreeze will now verify the file and proceed with you a warning just click “I Understand” there.

7. Now if you are using iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) or iPod Touch 3G then do the following other users may skip this step.

Goto General and check “Use iBooty Method (3.1.2 jailbreak required)”

Also check “Activate the iPhone” if you are on unofficial carrier and want  to hacktivate your iPhone.

8. Now choose “Build IPSW” and sn0wbreeze will start cooking the custom .ipse firmware.

9. Once the firmware building completes, Goto iTunes and choose your iPhone/iPod Touch from the left side menu and press “Restore” while holding “Left-Shift” now browse the custom cooked iOS 4.1 firmware which you created using sn0wbreeze and click “Open”

10. Now let iTunes do the rest of the job, when the installation process done, your iPhone will restart automatically and you should now have jailbroken iOS 4.1

How to Unlock iOS 4.1

Now that you have jailbroken iPhone 3GS/ iPhone 3G you can use ultrasn0w to carrier unlock it.

iPhone Dev team has released new beta version of redsn0w 0.9.6b1 which lets you jailbreak iOS 4.1 and 4.1 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC models).

Before proceeding with the instructions take a note here that:

NOTE: If you rely on ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone then you are highly advised NOT to try this release to jailbreak because it will update your baseband to new version which is not possible to unlock with ultrasn0w for now. Though you can use this guide to jailrbeak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G with PwnageTool bundle while preserving baseband which makes it possible to unlock with ultrasn0w.

Here is the step by step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G.

1. Download stock iOS 4.1 firmware for corresponding device (Download links below).

2. Download and Install iTunes 10.

3. Now manually update your iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4.1 using iTunes.

4. Download and start redsn0w 0.9.6b1 (Download links below) and browse the stock firmware which you download in step 1.

5. Now select “Install Cydia” and you can also choose various optional options such as Multitasking, Wallpapers and Battery Percentage etc.

6. Now make sure your device is both turned off and connect to computer using data cable and click Next.

7. Now follow the instruction carefully provided on the screen which guide you how to put your device in Recovery mode.

8. Now let the redsn0w do its job, on completion your device will restart automatically and there you go with the latest jailbroken iOS 4.1 firmware.

Another cool app has landed Cydia store today with the name “Covert” which enables private browsing feature to your mobile Safari so you can browse web freely on your iPhone without being care of leaving any footprint.

To enable Private browsing feature after installing this tweak, just tap on the Tabs button on Safari located at bottom right and choose Private Browsing. When this feature is active the UI will change to gray color which indicated the that the private browsing feature is enable.

This app required you to have jailbroken iOS 4+ so you will need to jailbreak your iPhone first on either iOS 4 or iOS 4.1 to get this cool feature.

Earlier today I shared with you custom bundle for Pwnage Tool which lets Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G but that only works on Mac OS X. However, here I am sharing the custom build iOS 4.1 firmware which lets you update to jailbroken iPhone 3G on Windows PC. This custom firmware (iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Custom_Restore.ipsw) has been cooked using Pwnage Tool and test by me and worked perfectly fine for me, so it should work for you aswell.

This custom made 4.1 firmware contains stock Apple boot logo and Cydia and it also preserves your baseband so you can later on carrier unlock it using ultrasn0w.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G [Windows Guide]

1. First Download the custom build iOS 4.1 firmware (iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Custom_Restore.ipsw)

4. Connect you iPhone to iTunes using USB data cable.

5. Choose your iPhone from devices menu on the left.

6. Now click “Resotre” while holding Shift key and select the custom IPSW file which you downloaded in step 1

7. Now Sit back and relax until the installation process complete.

8.After Jailbreaking your iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 you can follow this guide to unlock you iPhone and use it with any SIM/Carrier.

Another PwnageTool bundle has been released by msft_guy and this time it is for iOS 4.1 and for iPhone 3G.

You can use this patch to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G without any Cydia issue (which previous build had) and it also supports hacktivation. You can use this bundle to jailbreak iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 while preserving the baseband so you can unlock it later using ultrasn0w.

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G [How to Guide]

1. Download Pwnage tool 4.01 for MAC

2. Download latest Pwnage Tool bundle released by msft_guy from here.

3. Download iOS 4.1 for iPhone 3G (Download links available here)

4. Download and Install latest iTunes 10.

5. Now you will have to install Pwnage Tool bundle into Pwnage Tool 4.01 to do that right click on the PwnageTool.app icon and choose “Show Package Contents” and browse to Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ and move/paste the custom bundle file (which you downloaded in step 2) there.

6. Now Start Pwnage Tool and select iPhone 3GS (Don’t worry, doesn’t matter if it not show iPhone 3G) .

6. Next Pwnage Tool will automatically detect the firmware (you download in Step 3), if it doesn’t then choose “Browse for IPSW”

7. When it ask “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?” click NO or it will update your baseband and then you can only use official AT&T SIM.

8. Now let Pwnage tool do its magic while it will create custom firmware for your device.

9. Once the custom firmware building completes it will show “ihaz Success” screen.

10. Now that you have custom firmware open iTunes while your iPhone is connected and choose your iPhone from the left menu there, Now hold Option (Shift on Windows) and click Restore button it will open a file browser now choose the custom firmware which you created using Pwnage Tool.

11. And let iTunes do the rest of the job, when the installation process done, your iPhone will restart automatically and you should now have jailbroken iOS 4.1 running on your iPhone 3G.

12. Now that you have jailbroken iPhone 3G you can use ultrasn0w to carrier unlock it.

Apple has seeded latest iOS 4.2 firmware for developers and here we already have a patch to jailbreak iOS 4.2 on iPhone 3GS (old bootroms) using Pwnage Tool. Thanks to msft_guy for this quick patch.

Using this patch you can jailbreak your iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) that has already been jailbroken once. Right now Cydia is not compatible with iOS 4.2 and it crashes so you are advised to install OpenSSH using the following links manually, http://apt.telesphoreo.org/cydia/debs/openssl_0.9.8k-9_iphoneos-arm.deb and here http://apt.telesphoreo.org/cydia/debs/openssh_5.2p1-8_iphoneos-arm.deb/ so you can install tweaks and apps without Cydia.

Jailbreak iOS 4.2 on iPhone 3GS [How to Guide]

1. Download Pwnage tool 4.01 for MAC

2. Download latest Pwnage Tool bundle released by msft_guy from here.

3. Download iOS 4.2 for iPhone 3GS (If you are registered iPhone developer then you can get it from apple developer portal and if your not official developer then remember, Google is your fried)

4. Download and Install latest iTunes 10.

5. Now you will have to install Pwnage Tool bundle into Pwnage Tool 4.01 to do that right click on the PwnageTool.app icon and choose “Show Package Contents” and browse to Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ and  move/paste the custom bundle file (which you downloaded in step 2) there.

6. Now Start Pwnage Tool and select iPhone 3GS.

6. Next Pwnage Tool will automatically detect the firmware (you download in Step 3), if it doesn’t then choose “Browse for IPSW”

7. When it ask “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?” click NO or it will update your baseband and then you can only use official AT&T SIM.

8. Now let Pwnage tool do its magic while it will create custom firmware for your device.

9. Once the custom firmware building completes it will show “ihaz Success” screen.

10. Now that you have custom firmware open iTunes while your iPhone is connected and choose your iPhone from the left menu there, Now hold Option (Shift on Windows) and click Restore button it will open a file browser now choose the custom firmware which you created using Pwnage Tool.

11. And let iTunes do the rest of the job, when the installation process done, your iPhone will restart automatically and you should now have jailbroken iOS 4.2 running on your iPhone 3GS.

Related content: When you click a Tweet, the details pane shows additional information related to the author or subject. Depending on the Tweet’s content, you may see: replies, other Tweets by that user, a map of where a geotagged Tweet was sent from, and more.

Mini profiles: Click a username to see a mini profile without navigating from the page, which provides quick access to account information, including bio and recent Tweets.

Earlier we shared a hack with you to enable HDR functionality for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G though there were many reason people were ignoring to give it a try. First, it was not soo easy for a newbie user and second it was not actually working correctly for many users but don’t worry because there is an easy and working solution out there, a cydia app named “HDR Camera Enabler”.

HDR Camera Enabler lets you enable HDR functionality on your jailbroken iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1.

HDR Camera Enabler is a free app available in Cydia Store via ModMyi repository.

iOS 4.1 brings various cool features one of which is the HDR functionality which lets your capture HDR photos though officially that feature is only available for iPhone 4; however, there is a quick hack which lets you enable HDR functionality on your iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.

To apply this hack you need to first jailbreak your iPhone 3GS/3G on iOS 4.1. But there is no official tool launched for iOS 4.1 jailbreaking, though there is an unofficial Pwnage tool available which lets you jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1

Here is a step-by-step guide on enabling HDR on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.

1. Once you have jailbroken your device, install OpenSSH via Cydia.

2. Now SSH into your device and locate following file

iPhone 3GS: /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N88AP.plist

iPhone 3G: /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N82AP.plist

3. Backup this file on your desktop before editing it.

4. Now Add a key named “hdr-image-capture” with a boolean value of “true” to the “capabilities” section of this property list.

5. Now Save .plist file and reboot your device and you should now have HDR option in your camera app.

Note: This guide didn’t work for many people so we can’t guarantee if it will work for you or not. Also try jailbreaking your device on your own risk as there is no official jailbreaking tool has been released yet for iOS 4.1!

Though there is no official jailbreaking tool released so far for iOS 4.1 but there is an unofficial release of Pwnage Tool which lets you jailbreak your iPhone 3GS (with old bootrom) on iOS 4.1 firmware. Pwnage Tool is a famous jailbreaking tool for Mac which creates custom firmware and lets you preserve your baeband while upgrading the firmware.

NOTE: This version of Pwnage Tool doesn’t support hacktivation so you will either have to use official SIM carrier or phonebook SIM card method to activate it before unlocking it with ultrasn0w.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 with Pwnage Tool

1. Download and Install latest version of iTunes.

2. Download Pwnage Tool and offcial iOS 4.1 firmware for your corresponding device (download links at end).

3. Now plug-in your iPhone with iTunes and backup all your data before proceeding to next step.

4. Start Pwnage Tool and select iPhone 3GS.

5. Now Pwnage Tool will automatically detect the firmware (you download in Step 2), if it doesn’t then choose “Browse for IPSW”

6. When it ask “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?” click NO or it will update your baseband and then you can only use official AT&T SIM.

7. Now let Pwnage tool do its magic while it will create custom firmware for your device.

8. While creating custom firmware it will ask you to authenticate your MAC account, leave it as it is for now; then head to “iOS 4.1 jailbreaker installer package” located in the zip file which you downloaded in Step 2. Once the package is installed head back to Pwnage Tool and enter your MAC account password to authenticate it.

9. Once the custom firmware building completes it will show “ihaz Success” screen.

10. Now that you have custom firmware open iTunes while your iPhone is connected and choose your iPhone from the left menu there, Now hold Option (Shift on Windows) and click Restore button it will open a file browser now choose the custom firmware which you created using Pwnage Tool.

11. Now let iTunes do the rest of the job.

Fix iTunes 1004 or 1015 error

Incase iTunes show 1004 or 1015 error then don’t panic as the firmware have already been installed on your device all you have to do now is to exit your device from recovery mode to do this:

Install TinyUmbreall (Windows/Mac) and run the program and click “Kick Device out of Recovery” button and it will restart your device.

Fix Blank Cydia Icon after Jailbreaking

After jailbreaking if Cydia shows blank icon with no repository, simply add the following repo in Cydia:

http://apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 repo

Fix Safari Crash problem after Jailbreaking

If your Safari crashes after jailbreaking, simply add the following repo in Cydia:

http://repo.woowiz.net and install “Safarifix” package.

Unlock iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 using ultrasn0w 1.1-1

Once the jailbreak is done and you have activated your iPhone 3GS you can unlock it using ultrasn0w 1.1-1

Its been just few hours since the public launch of iOS 4.1 firmware and iPhone hackers have already found a exploit which indicates the availability of jailbreaking tool some time in near future.

MuscleNerd tweeted about the exploit that is found by geniuses like Pod2G the same guy who found 24kpwn exploit earlier and p0sixininja.

This exploit is based on bootrom which signify that the next jailbreaking tool will be based on bootrom exploit which makes it impossible for Apple to block it by releasing any patch unless they do a whole round of hardware update.

Now just keep looking for the next release of any jailbreaking tool which jailbreak iOS 4.1 and until then STAY AWAY from this new firmware release.

Google is holding a press event today in which Google is expected to unveil several new search features; though, we don’t have much clue about what exactly going to be announced in that conference.

However, one thing that has most probability of being unveiled is the real-time search, with real-time we doesn’t mean the indexing of social networks i.e. Twitter or Facebook; but we mean real-time search results to query like you just type your query and you will get the results instantly without even need to hit the enter.
