So, They Elected a Monster - Deuxième Partie Eight years ago, I wrote a blog post regarding the results of the 2016 election. There may be some overlap from that original post, but this time I will expand on what's relative today. Please read the original post, here.Regardless of where you fall relative to the outcome of the 2024 election; you have more than likely witnessed, viewed,

The More Things Change... I am no different than anyone. I have had my struggles with weight ever since I have not been required to monitor it. Now, I am in my mid forties, and the health risks associated with that are very real. Health risks notwithstanding, there are many people in my life that I believe would like for me to live a fruitful and long life. Great reasons to adjust my health

Election night 2016 has come and gone. Similar to a great number of people, I was stunned when Donald Trump became the President-Elect. Since election night, I have gone through the various stages of mourning. I'm sure some of you are quick to mock me, however, take the advice that a number of your compatriots are giving my fellow electorate; give me a chance...to explain my mindset.

As a father of two black little boys, I can no longer be silent. Anytime a situation like this occurs (police gunning down Black Americans), people protest, people march, some dumb asses riot and tear up their own neighborhood; but what does that accomplish? How does any of that effect change; it doesn't. Not in the age of social media, memes, and apathy. None of those actions do anything, it's

HTC EVO 4G  Android's first Courtship There was a time when HTC was the darling of Android for Google. Shortly after acquiring Android, +Google and +HTC unleashed the G1 unto the world. A few years later, the Nexus One was born and thus Google's Nexus program along with it. Despite the G1, I was a staunch Blackberry user, supporter and espouser; but then the EVO 4G came along, and

More Things Changed, Some Things Stayed The Same We have come to the part of the year, other than birthdays, reunions, or anniversaries, where people look back on life and either reminisce, have regrets, or set new goals. 2013 was a challenging year for me. Honestly, I do not regret anything in life, however, I would say that in 2013, I had setbacks. These setbacks will take some effort to

The blessing and curse of the internet and technology is that information is readily available. I can easily find out how many sex offenders live within my or any neighborhood;

Edmund's TechnoBlasts Blackberry Bold 9000 Below is my original review of the BB 9000. I loved this device. Blackberry was my original smartphone and I was hooked from the first device on. The trackball in the Bold was more

Edmund's TechnoBlasts Read Part I Creative Zen Vision W I absolutely loved my Creative Zen Vision. It had the best of multiple worlds. A hi-res widescreen for watching video and browsing photos, lots of storage that not only stored all of my media, but also served as a back up hard drive. If I had not lost it at an ASCAP Members' meeting in New York, I'd still have this amazing device

Read Part I I have begun an annual tradition of challenging myself by giving up a vice. 2013 will be the third time that I am doing this. Year one was soda, year two was ice cream and year three will deep fried foods. Since french fries and fried sweet plantains are two of my favorite foods, this will definitely be hard for me. Along with my annual vice fasting, I am also making the choice

It is one of the biggest undertakings in life. As a father, I am very aware of the onus I have in raising a responsible, compassionate, loving, forgiving, and happy person in my son. Everything that he encounters will impact his life, society, and the planet. The Journey Continues Part of my personal challenge of 2012 was to give up ice cream for the year. I am happy to say that I was successful in doing just that. Another was to lose 20 lbs. Unfortunately, I fell short of that goal. Honestly, I got lazy and complacent with my eating and exercise. Just as with previous years, I will give up an indulgence for the year, but I am also going to commit

Mirror, Mirror I am happy that President Obama has recently come out in public support of Gay Marriage. It's very refreshing that the President sees this as a human issue and not a political or religious one. Unfortunately, the people of North Carolina have recently voted to ban Gay marriage and all civil unions. They even went on to define marriage as only between a man and a woman. The problem

January 23, 2012 I am happy to report that this week I weigh in at 244.6 lbs! That is a loss of 1.4 lbs since last week with a total of 3.4 lbs for the year so far. With school starting next week and the other aspects of my life, it is going to be a challenge to fit in my exercise, but I am a creative person so I will figure something out. The challenge for me right now is late night snacking.

End of Week 1 Anyone can attest that weight loss is not easy. I began this week weighing in at 246.4 lbs. This week I weighed in at 246 lbs; so that's a .4 lb loss. As of October 2011 that's 4 lbs to date. I have to admit that when I saw a number less than two, I was on the verge of being upset, but then Saint Theresa saved the day! Edmund's Community Corner Last year I decided to challenge myself by giving up soda for the year. I wanted to see if I could really give up something I loved for an entire year. I'm proud to say that I did it; and as a result I don't drink as much soda as I used to; and thus, I've lost a little weight. Nothing to write home about, but it's interesting how much cutting out soda benefits you. I
