Lots of patriotic people live on a river. Rivers supply a constant flow, which can be harnessed for energy. Energy can be transferred to an existing GFI outlet, which is a part of the local grid. What I envision is a means to generate power from small individual generators, which could be DC converted to AC, at location. I don't know where to find this peice of equipment. Please let me know if anyone knows if one exists.

Africa has plans and projects that will greatly benefit from renewable energy. Often in ways that more developed countries cannot see.

This renewable benefit is particularly true of those nations that have no local source of fossil energy. Those countries are even more suceptible to price rises than developed countries. There is sun and Wind, Geothermal and of course great Small & Micro hydro sites all over the continent. Yes, there is great need as well, but that spells opportunity!

I found an anomaly of gravity during my research of wave energy. This anomaly leads me to non-linear equation of gravity. Then I found probability to use earth gravity to produce energy forever, as long as the earth exist.

Hi folks.
I am interested in fuel oil production from Algae. I feel it could offer the best promise as a green fuel. Right now there appears to be so many process and methods of production of this green fuel from algae.

I would like to develop a scale down version of algae fuel production that users / individuals can setup in their home backyard. The idea is to later propagate the design far and wide as an open source model.

Any advise/info/guidance would be highly appreciated. Thank you all.

Car alternator is as you know not permanent magnet so to overcome this problem, you can add a battery in between which should also act as a reservoir to provide a continuous supply during off-peak times, regulated flow & obviously magnetize your alternator.
any car battery or other should do.

I'm from Ontario Canada and we just passed the Green Energy Act (GEA). This is the most comprehensive pieve of legislation that has come out in north America that aims to tackle the problem of Co2 emmissions while producing energy. Because of this the government has made huge strides in implimenting renewables, most notably wind, into the energy mix. But not everyone is pleased about it.

I think the problem that this thread is dealing with is how will we make fuel. The answer in my mind is battery powered vehicles that are charged off you house. that means we need a much more efficient grid that uses renewables but is base-loaded with something that doesn't burn off Co2 to create energy. Nuclear comes to mind anyone else.

Need Help. Built HHO and it does work. My problem is that the fuse blows after 2 min. What type of water am I supposed to use. I used well water and it may have too many minerals and might be reacting with it. Will try distilled water. The water turns blue and becomes a solid. What is that? The blue stuff seems to be very conductive and that is what shorting out the unit. The bubbler work fine but need to add additional plates to produce more hydrogen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello,

I have a better idea. So far everyone has been stuck on Turbines to produce energy from rivers. What about the possibility of using Buoyancy? I have designed a system capable of producing huge amounts of energy from rivers which can be installed in many locations without the need of a dam. It would be possible to produce a few Kilowatts up to many megawatts depending on the location.I see the potential as very promising and this will definitely be the next big thing. A Patent has been applied for. You will be hearing more about this soon.

Hello,

This is a nice website. I was hoping that maybe somebody here could lead me in the correct direction or be able to answer a few questions for me. I was looking into using a solar panel to light up the outside of my house by recharging batteries during the day and started wondering if I could replace the batteries with a simple water stream. I thought that I could use the solar cells to pump water into a retaining vessel and then at night let the water flow back down spinning a small turbine to create electricity. Will this work? If so how do I determine the volume of water and height I need to produce enough energy to light some LEDS?

Thanks for any advice - are there any good books on this topic I should read?

IF solar, wind and other forms of energy can not replace oil - then we need to STOP USING SO MUCH. It takes a little re-thinking and develop new ways of doing old thing.

For instance - on MyBackAchers.com farming website - they turned old refrigerators into solar food dehydrators, they made an ICE Room that freezes over winter (northern climate) and stays frozen all summer - till winter freezes it again. They mainly ride bikes, put up most of their food - including food for animals (chickens, rabbits, goats & horses). They planted short grasses so they don't have to mow (talk about saving time). Put in skylights for daytime light and naturally exhaust hot air. . they even designed a solar furnace system that takes heat from a roof attic area. And add that to all the other ways we're told to conserve - LEDs in stead of regular bulbs, clothes line instead of dryer, wash dishes by hand instead of machine . . Power can be cut down to a minimal of $25/month.

mangyhyena,

You are absolutely right, this is how you do it. No need for fancy circuits, just get another alternator and another battery and run the HHO off it.

Most engines have plenty of unused horsepower to spare, all you need to do is hook up a secondary alternator and/or battery to run the HHO off of. This should give you at least another 100 AMP at 12v = 1200 WATT which should be more than enough to generate HHO to power a car. But if not you put another and another..

Each time remember you are knocking at 1200 WATT less than 2HP off the engine. Hardly anything at all for a vehicle with at least 100 HP.

I think there is some kind of ambient mind control crap going on that so many smart people don't see this.

It just dawned on me today after looking at HHO for a few days and you are the first I see that hit on the head and mention there are others - I'm glad.

Get going on it, before they erase your memory or something.. hehe

Listing formulas for energy production is nice however working smarter instead of harder is my suggestion. In other words a man can have a known estimated output of energy. What you do with that energy and how you chose to achieve it can not be a fixed sum. M-FTW The sky is the limit. I challenge this be the question answered.

Pls advise how the can go further, as there is very short supply of electricity in our country and common man has to suffer for 6-8 hours without electricity, no fan no air-condition and temperature touches
36-38 deg in day timing.

Guy,

First you need to know the wave/swell height, the wave period (time from wave/swell crest to wave/swell crest), and the depth of the water. Then you can go to http://www.coastal.udel.edu/faculty/rad/wavetheory.html

That has a wave calculator that will tell you the available wave energy per meter of wavefront.

Good luck,

I have a somewhat technical question about large commercial turbine installations. Suppose that turbine A will be cabled to turbine B, and suppose that x is the midpoint of the line segment between A and B. Is it feasible for another turbine C to be connected to A and B at x? Or, on the other hand, does the cabling from one turbine to the next have to run consecutively directly from one turbine to the next?

If C can be connected at x, is there any reason why one might not want to do it that way (for example, line loss), if it results in total shorter cable length?

I thought members of the group might find the You Tube video link below interesting. My company, Green Wave Energy Corp., is developing an ocean wave generator that we hope to start testing with the Catalina Conservancy and the USC Marine Institute on Catalina Island in California. I understand, however, there are many wonderful places on the planet that have amazing waves that would be great for generating electricity using nothing more than ocean or large lake waves! Our generators are clean, green and mostly unseen. For many countries and individual locales that do not have easy access to fossil fuels; or just want to free themselves from fossil fuels, power plants run by our generators could be an exciting alternative. If you have questions or would like more information, feel free to contact me.

I have a similar question - concerning use of moving warm fluids, namely trying to get electricity out of hot water.

As I am in Turkey and we all use solar panels for hot water but we never use all of that hot water so I am thinking - is there a way to get electricity out of it somehow.

I was also thinking about maybe a little turbine to capture the water movement ?

Since it takes a lot of energy to heat up water, it must follow that hot water (say at 70 deg Celcius) must be "storing" a lot of energy that could be turned into electricity.

Now - you realise that I am NOT talking about super-heated steam from under the earth - just normal hot water.

Hot water can easily be gathered on sunny days using hot water solar panels mounted on roofs.

How could this hot water be made to give up its energy and how to convert it into electricity ?

I have thought of one idea.
As the water heats up on the panles, it rises up to the hotwater tank. This effect is used to push colloer water into the bottom of the panels and therefopre the water kepps getting hotter.
Could this motion be used to drive a kind of small turbine contected to a generator?

I think that the circluation is quite slow and therefore the power output from the water motion would be small.

That is why I wanted to know if there is anyway of using that hotwater to get electricity?

Any thoughts

Hi,
I was also thinking why are car alternators not
recomended for wind turbines.

I live in Turkey and finding a permanant magnet motor
is pretty hard - but car alternators are easy - why can we not use them for wind turbines ?

Good point gulfvet. I just read an article on compressed-air engines and like you I am unable to comprehend why this promising energy source is not getting the attention it needs. Compressed air is not the only alternative viable source of energy for powering engines, compressed nitrogen, liquid ammonia are examples of other potential sources. What's amazing with these energy sources is that they are completely green, with Nitrogen, and water vapour as the only emissions. It would seem that the problem does not lie in making engines run efficiently on these fuels, instead it is the production itself of these fuels that is problematic. It's been said that ultimately electricity has to be used to compress the above gases into their liquid states, therefore the key lies in making electricity from sources other than hydrocarbons. Yet to me this aint a problem, since nuclear power can be used to meet our electricity needs. Water, wind and solar polar are serious options. Then why the hell are manufacturers still making petrol and diesel cars? We want green fuel NOW!
