First, my sweet, sweet baby girl turned one (what?!) earlier in the month.   It took a few weeks to be able to get out and take her pics thanks to the stomach flu that hit all 6 of us and then some seriously rainy, yucky weather.  In the end it worked out perfectly and I could take both girls birthday photos together on a beautiful sunny springy morning.   The relationship between my girls is one that makes me feel all fuzzy inside everytime I see them together.  They both adore eachother, for real, not just some of the time – but all the time.  I think the age gap helps for that…  Lucy’s too little and cute to irritate Maddy (yet) and Maddy’s old enough to know not to irritate Lucy.  They share a room and once in a while Lucy’s still awake when Maddy comes to bed – and if so…  Lucy’s standing up trying her hardest to make Maddy laugh.  So. cute.   In the morning when Maddy rolls out of bed she’s usually a little…  well…  let’s just say groggy.  Not a morning person.  But, if anything can make her smile, it’s Lucy!   Lucy is a walking, talking, rambunctious, happy-go-lucky toddler (yikes!).

Maddy has become a caring, kind, sensitive young lady who is truly a pleasure to be around.  She’s generally quiet, but likes to join in on goofy fun too.  She is such a blessing to our family, and such a big help for me.  Having her around is so handy, whether it be to help with Lucy, or help with dishes or other chores…   sometimes I have to remember not to take advantage too much of her (usually) willing nature!    Seeing her grow and mature has been such a pleasure, and as we get closer to the preteen and teenage years I am trying to focus on the now and not the future – cause that whole deal makes me nervous!   God has brought us this far, certainly He’ll be there for those years too :) .

Anyway, on to the pics.  I’m supposed to be packing for our trip, but these pics have been begging me to be edited – so once this is done it’s back to work.   Enjoy!

These two met on the rowing team at Westerm, and spend a lot of their time riding all kinds of different bikes and traveling for different races etc.  Courtenay is a personal trainer and Chris a firefighter – talk about endless amount of energy!  Love it.

Courtenay loves to laugh (Chris too!) and I think you’ll be able to see that in these photos.  So much happiness all around!

(it was almost impossible to get these pics since she only takes around 5 steps before she falls…  I had to plunk and rush back to try grab a pic or two before she fell…  probably quite comical to watch!)

This month:

*she started taking steps… eek!  in the last week or so those steps became more frequent.

*said “bee-dee” for our dog Brandy – whom she is obsessed with

*had double ear and sinus infections

*got a molar

*thought that baby food was for babies – which she doesn’t think she is

*grew up way too fast

One month till the big bday – eeekk!
