I love this girl.  She’s sweet, kind, funny, quirky and such a good big sister (she’s pretty much Lucy’s hero).  Nine comes with a bit of attitude, and I’m bracing for more as we enter the lovely world of tween, pre teen and before we know it – teens!   She loves to read, loves ballet and does not love being outside.  Haha.  We’re working on that.   No, Maddy, going to play outside does not mean taking your book and a blanket outside to read.  :)

Most of all, I’m thankful to see her growing in her faith.  What a blessing to see as a parent.  She blesses our family every day!

You have a lovely family and thanks for allowing me to join in on the family fun for a while!   Enjoy.

]]> http://www.alyssabrownphotography.com/blog/2013/03/whatcom-county-child-and-family-photographer-facebook-giveaway/feed/ 32 nooksack, whatcom county, wa child photographer :: Joey is 7! http://www.alyssabrownphotography.com/blog/2013/03/nooksack-whatcom-county-wa-child-photographer-joey-is-7/ http://www.alyssabrownphotography.com/blog/2013/03/nooksack-whatcom-county-wa-child-photographer-joey-is-7/#comments Thu, 14 Mar 2013 04:48:39 +0000 admin http://www.alyssabrownphotography.com/blog/?p=1938 I can’t believe this boy is 7…  and that’s it’s been a year since these pics were taken!!  My Joey is growing up so fast, and I’m pretty sure he’s going to be taller than me before I know it.  His hands and feet are getting eerily close to the same size as mine (size 4 shoes now…).  Crazy how much I love this kid, and also how crazy he drives me sometimes too!  That’s usually how it goes with boys I think?!   He’s so full of energy, and so much fun to be around.  He loves to joke, run, jump, wrestle, throw and do all the things boys love to do.  Such a boy through and through.  Sports are the love of his life.  All of his energy is hard to contain and he’s been learning that it’s not only mom that says  he has to calm down sometimes – but teachers too :) .  He’s adjusting great to 1st grade, and much to my surprise, after showing absolutely no interest in reading/books/anything that requires sitting he’s reading like a pro and flying through his schoolwork.  He got his glasses a few months ago and I think they make him look even more handsome :) .  We are so thankful to our great God for putting this guy in our family!

The sky’s the limits for this boy.

Had to sneak in a few of the other kiddos too…  :)

He loves football and the Dallas Cowboys almost more than anything…  can’t wait until he can play flag football this coming fall.  We took similar pics 2 years ago of him with his football and he really wanted to do that again.. so here we are :)

By the end of the session my fingers were officially numb.   Obviously, it was well worth it :)

Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are precious and now priceless to them. Upon hearing this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken.

I will be taking nominations for a family who you think would appreciate this gift of memories. The mini session will take place sometime after the new year and will be completely FREE to the person nominating and the family being nominated. Message or email me (alyssa.r.brown@gmail.com) your nominations including a brief message on who you’re nominating and the reason you’d love them to get this. The family chosen will be contacted via email, so please include their email address as well! I’ll be taking nominations anytime between now (December 19th) and December 31st. Please SHARE this so your friends and family will know too! Can’t wait to gift a family with these memories that can’t be replaced or taken away!
