Big news! Banksy's film is opening in select theaters starting tomorrow. Below is a list of where and when. I'm really interested to see what exactly the film is about, as there have been rumors that the story in it isn't true and all part of Banksy's schemes. Either way it has got my attention and I'm looking forward to it, especially because it shows some great street artists like Banksy, Space Invader and Shepard Fairey doing what they do best.

I saw this before Alice in Wonderland (no comment, just disappointment) and the second half looked great in 3D. I'm very excited about this and really hope Disney does not screw it up. One of the main reasons I'm excited about this is the musical score, which is being done by Daft Punk, who I have been a fan of for quite some time. From what I hear in this trailer, it's really going to be something to look forward to.

He also discusses his process and why it's hard when people ask you to just "bang something out real quick", which I found very interesting and can relate to.

This is a great track with one of my favorite artists right now, Kid Cudi. Nothing too special about the video, but I really like the song and the subtle hints of the camera crew in the reflections, very nice touch that you should keep an eye out for.

It's finally arrived, the trailer for James Cameron's Avatar arrived online today, with 20 minutes of footage showing in IMAX theaters tomorrow(sold out). This is one of the most anticipated movies this year and boasts revolutionary technology, which is why it has taken Cameron 14 years to make. However, some are taking this to mean that the actual look of the 3D should blow people away, when what is actually groundbreaking are the techniques and process they used to film live actors and capture there motion for the 3D characters. The 3D is still amazing and cutting edge, but some people may be expecting more. All that aside, this trailer looks great and it should be an entertaining movie to say the least. Calvin Harris just released a follow up to his debut I Created Disco on August 10th and it's more of the same great dance music, especially the single Ready For The Weekend. This album is even more club friendly than the first and definitely worth a listen. I expect to see plenty of remixes from it popping up soon. Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland definitely bears all the markings of a Burton film and hopefully will redeem him after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I know that the story has Alice returning to Wonderland, but it also appears that Depp's Mad Hatter has a major role, which I hadn't realized. This trailer looks like it's heading in the right direction, especially the art direction, just hope it's not another let down.

RIP The King of Pop Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

Michael Jackson had such a huge impact on music and American pop culture, in such a way that it's hard to find anyone born in the '80s who didn't grow up listening to his songs and idolizing him. The same way that it is hard to find many recording artists that came after him who weren't influenced by his music and how he performed. It wouldn't be much of an exaggeration to say that most of the modern dance we see today in pop music is part of MJ's legacy (as seen below). Add to that the fact that he revolutionized the music video as an art form and it's easy to say he was the greatest entertainer there will ever be. It's a tragedy what became of him later in his life, but the Smooth Criminal video above is how I will always remember him from when I was younger. The man was a genius with undeniable talent and style. This video above and the dance number at the end are representative of everything that was and will always be the icon "Michael Jackson".

UPDATE: Had to post Michael Jackson performing Billie Jean and his first Moonwalk. No, he didn't invent it, but he made it his own.

These are getting a lot of much deserved press. I'd love to get my hands on all three colorways of these, but the reds especially. I love the lip at the back to keep the jeans up. Kanye says he got the idea from a high collared jacket in the movie Dune...awesome.
