Loudspeaker Icon in WhatsApp - What is it?

I believe that you landed here out of curiosity that what does the loudspeaker icon indicate in a WhatsApp conversation.

Normally when we send a WhatsApp message, we see the time-stamp and a double tick-mark like this .

It is a confirmation that the recipient has successfully received the message on his/her device.

The above is when you send a message, similarly when you receive a message you see a timestamp but no tick-mark or check-mark as it is the message you have received.

But there is a weird received message which has a Loudspeaker icon with the time-stamp. Also the background color of this message is different. See the below screenshot.

When a WhatsApp user broadcasts a message to a number of people in their contacts, all the recipients of that message will be able to such message which has a loudspeaker icon with the time-stamp.

To drag user's attention, the background color is also changed.

Many a times while browsing, you end up into a situation where you have so many tabs that closing all the irrelevant tabs becomes a pain.

Mostly it happens while you are on facebook, google, wikipedia or some other website where links take you round the world, all because you don't want to get rid of one page but want to go the other, yes I am talking about Open in new tab feature that all the browsers provide. This feature is majorly responsible for your arrival to this page :)

Though your browsers provide you a lot of features like Close Other Tabs or Close All Tabs to the Right. They are not enough, as there are many other tabs that you do not wish to close.

Closing all the tabs from the same website on a single click, sounds great! Yes, you can do the trick with the help of some very interesting plugins/add-ons/extensions (whatever you want to call them).

For Mozilla Firefox Users

TabCloser will help you get rid of all the open tabs from the same website. All you have to do is install this add-on using the above link and click ADD TO FIREFOX and restart your firefox.

Now, whenever you end up in the above situation, just go to any tab that you want to close along with all the corresponding tabs open for that website.

Export Email Addresses of your Facebook friends

There are many application on Facebook which enable your to export your friends' details but they don't provide you with their emails addresses.

For example, search the App Export Friends To CSV on facebook, you can use this Facebook App to retrieve your friends' Full name, Birthday, Hometown, Facebook ID, Last name, First name, About me, Current location, Profile URL and Picture URL, But unfortunately NOT the Email.

There are certain Greasemonkey scripts and other hacks that can help to fetch your friends' Email Addresses from your Facebook account but by using that you can put yourself in trouble as Zukerberg's battalion may ban your account for lifetime.

Export Emails of your FB Friends Legally

Facebook APIs doesn't expose Email Addresses of users due to which none of the Facebook Apps provide you with your friends' Email Addresses. However, there is a 100% legal way to have all your Facebook contacts into your PC from Facebook's so called Security Chambers.

You use Yahoo Address Book to Import Email to your Yahoo Account and then Eventually to your Computer.

Go to address.yahoo.com

Find and Click the Tools Drop Down and select Import.

On the Next Page, Click on the Facebook Logo, Facebook will ask you to authorize the account, provide your Facebook Login Details.

You're done, Once you are Authenticated, Yahoo will Automatically Import it to your Yahoo Account.

Categorize the Last Imported Addresses into suitable category you want, preferably Facebook, this is just to differentiate them from your previously existing contacts on you Yahoo.

Export your Contact into any format available, Microsoft Outlook mostly used.

Note: If Yahoo is unable to import contacts, Go to your Facebook account and open Application Settings and Remove Yahoo! Contact Importer from your Profile and try the steps again.

Search files with same extension in Command Prompt

Here is a trick to search files with similar extensions(say .txt) under a particular directory using Command Prompt.

Follow these steps:
Start → Run → type cmd → OK, you will see the following screen.
Go to the directory where you want to search files here the directory is F: drive, now type:
dir *.txt /s /b > TextFiles.txt
This command line will create a file called TextFiles.txt. This file will have a list of all the files in that directory and all subdirectories with the .txt extension. You can then open up this file in any text editor and operate on it. and also By changing the txt part, you can select different files. For example, if you wanted to list all of the PDF documents, just type:
dir *.pdf /s /b > PDFFiles.txt
(You can use any extension for example for image files try *.jpg instead of *.txt
and ImageFiles.txt intstead of TextFiles.txt)

Possible Reasons:

Generally this occurs due to a template that is not supported by Blogger's Compiler.

Many of you may find this error when you try to change the position of your Blogger Widgets, you drag your widgets here and there on the Page Elements Tab in Blogger Layout.

You sometimes think that there is a problem with the Blogger Server and think of trying it after some time, but exactly the Problem is in your Template.

This usually occurs because the templates from any other Blogging Platform are converted into Blogger Templates and made available to the Bloggers. It contains a lot of scripts and some conditions which are not identified by the Blogger.com's Compiler and it throws you an Error.

Solution:

For those who know HTML and CSS:

Try to find the code from your Blogger templates which contains scripts for Showing a Different Home Page and a Different Post Page.
There are some Conditions in Platforms Other than Google's Blogger which contains script to show a different Home Page and a Different Post Page for example see this blog, Home Page and Post Page
In the above given link the Home page has certain different options and the Post Page has only the post which confuses the Blogger Compiler sometimes.

Go to Layout → Edit HTML and search your widget that you want to move it may look like this:

Here is a cool trick for you to create it using the simple Microsoft Paint!

Just Open Microsoft Paint by clicking on

Start → All Programs → Accessories → Paint
Just Go to

Image Menu → Attributes... (For Windows 7, Simple Go to the Menu and click Properties)
Just do the settings shown in the following image:

Now show your talent of designing in the paint area! once done with your appropriate icon, Save the file as the file name you want but at the end add .ico enclose the whole name with double quotes shown below:

SMS7.in allows you to send 440 characters SMS out of which 360 characters are yours and the remaining 80 characters are consumed by the website for ads!
As you can see in the Snapshots visible above, SMS7 only provides 50 SMSs per day! I believe if its 440 characters then we should not have a problem with the limit of 50!
Also we can send only 5 SMSs to a particular number in a single day!
With all the above features that SMS7 provides i dont think that consumption 80 characters by the owner for ads, would be a distraction for us!

Now Copy all the images from orkut whether from your profile or whether from any one else's profile!!(No need to use print screen and all that stuff)

Just follow simple steps:

1. Go to the Album page where you see the all images, Open the image which you want to save!

2. Now bring the mouse pointer over the image and CLICK and HOLD the mouse and drag the image a little, nah! nah! dont leave the mouse now, yet there is something to do!
3. Now Press Win Key + D which will directly take you to desktop, I believe you haven't released the mouse, now release the mouse on desktop and see the magic.

4. The Image is copied in (.jpeg) format on your Desktop, just Rename it as the name provided by orkut would be very big and then enjoy. As you have fooled orkut.

Note:

1. In case of Internet Explorer it will ask Yes/No. Click Yes to Copy else No.

How To Change Your IP Address?

There are MANY methods to change your IP address. Some methods will work for you but may not work for someone else and vice versa.

If your IP is static, then you CAN’T change your IP address without contacting your ISP.

If you have a long lease time (explained in this article) on your IP then you won’t be able to change your IP without cloning your MAC address, which I’ll explain later in this article.

It definitely helps if you know how the IP is being assigned to you.

You can read our DHCP definition to get a better understanding.

What is an IP lease time?

IP lease time is the amount of time your ISP determines you’ll be assigned a particular IP address.
Some IP lease times are just a few days and other IP lease times could be set for a year or more. This setting is completely up to your ISP.

One of the easier methods to change your IP is to turn off your modem/router/computer overnight. Then turn it back on the following morning. This method WILL NOT work if your ISP has a long lease time set for your IP.

The following method will ONLY work if your computer is being assigned your external IP and not a router.

How to determine if your computer is being assigned the external IP

If your connection is direct to your computer and your computer gets the public IP and not a router, you can try this:
For Windows 2000, XP, and 2003

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type in cmd and hit ok
4. Type ipconfig /release and hit enter
5. Click Start, Control Panel, and open Network Connections
6. Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties
7. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
8. Click on Use the following IP address
9. Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123
10. Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
11. Hit OK twice
12. Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
13. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
14. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
15. Hit OK twice
16. Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address

For Vista

1. Click Start
2. Click All Programs expand the Accessories menu
3. In the Accessories menu, Right Click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator
4. Type ipconfig /release and hit enter
5. Click Start, Control Panel, and open Network and Sharing Center. Depending on your view, you may have to click Network and Internet before you see the Network and Sharing Center icon
6. From the Tasks menu on the left, choose Manage Network Connections
7. Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties (If you’re hit with a UAC prompt, choose Continue)
8. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
9. Click on Use the following IP address
10. Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123
11. Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
12. Hit OK twice
13. Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
14. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
15. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
16. Hit OK twice
17. Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address

What are .nbu Files?

.nbu files are the backup files created when you create the backup for your Nokia Mobile.

They are created using Nokia PC suite and later can be restored to your phone.

Problem:

We have to open the .nbu files only with a NOKIA device, that is, we cannot open them into our PC.

Solution:

We have a utility known as NOKI.

NOKI is a utility to explore and extract Phone book, SMS, Calendar, Memo, Bookmark and other user files from the backup file(.nbu) of Nokia phone (using Nokia PC Suite).

You can save all your chats which you do using your Yahoo Messenger! Just a simple step and you dont even have to take care everytime to save your chat, Yahoo Messenger automatically saves each session of your chat with each person!

Steps:

When you Login to your Yahoo! account using Yahoo! Messenger, Go To Messenger Menu and click on Preferences or simply press Ctrl + Shift + P .
In the left pane click on Archives, now in the right pane 3 option as shown below:

Select "Yes Save all My Messages", click on Apply and then OK!

You Are Done!

Note: In case you are about to uninstall Yahoo! Messenger. Before uninstalling Go to:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\your_id\Archive\Messages

Copy all the folders and save it to some location for taking the backup of all the chats you have done. When you reinstall Yahoo Messenger simply copy all the folders to same location.

Then below is the tutorial to implement a cool feature of Yahoo which will help you change your existing Yahoo ID!

THIS WILL HELP YOU FOOLING YOUR FRIENDS WHILE CHATTING WITH THEM IN YAHOO MESSENGER.

Yahoo! allows you to create upto 6 "alias" or "personal names" for your existing Yahoo! ID, so you can have 6 different Yahoo! IDs but can get all your mails in a single account.
Steps:

Log into your Yahoo! account and click on "Edit My Account" link showing under your name in top-left side(All-new Yahoo! Mail) and top-right side(Yahoo! Mail Classic). In picture Yahoo! Mail Classic. It'll ask for your password again for security purposes.
Now click on "Edit/Create Aliases" link under "Public Information" section.
Click on add an alias link to add a new alias. Like this you can add upto 6 alias and use them to fool your friends in Yahoo Messenger while chating...and give different ID's to different people as you prefer.
While Entering a Chat Room in Yahoo Messenger, you get an option "Enter Chat Room as: ", you see all the aliases that you have created in the previous step. Select any alias you want and enter the room.
Before you start chatting with someone, you will get an option "Send As: " as shown below. Google Talk Cheats

With Google Talk being all the craze right now, some people hating it, and others loving it, I figured that I would post a list of tips and tricks for those curious about the extra “features” Google implemented and has not said much about.

Registry Tweaks

You can edit most settings by opening regedit (start -> Run.. > regedit),
and navigating to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk.

The “Google/Google Talk” key has several sub-keys that hold different option values:

Accounts: This one has subkeys for each different account that has logged in on the client. These keys have different values that store the username, password and connection options.

Autoupdate: Stores the current version information. When the client checks for updates it compares Google’s response with these values. If an update is needed, it will download and update the new version.

Options: This is the most interesting part, where most of the current hacks should be used (keep reading).

Process: Stores the process ID. Probably used by Google Talk to detect if it’s already running or not.

1.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\show_pin
-->If 1, shows a “pin” next to the minimize button that keeps the windows on top of all the other open windows when clicked.

2.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\view_show_taskbutton
-->If 0, hides the taskbar button, and leaves the tray icon only, when the window is shown.

3.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\away_inactive
-->If 1, status will be set as Away after the specified number of minutes.

4.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\away_screensaver
-->If 1, status will be set as Away after the specified number of minutes.

5.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\inactive_minutes
-->Number of inactive minutes to become away if auto-away is ON.

More Tips & Tricks

Change the font size - While holding the control key, move the scroll wheel on your mouse either up or down. This trick works while being focused in either the read or write area.

Insert line breaks - If you want to have a message that spans multiple paragraphs, just hold shift and hit enter. You can add as many new lines as you want to create.

Bold Text - To write something bold, you can use an asterisk before and after the word, like *this* .

Italic Text - To use italics, use an underscore before an after the word, like _this_ .

Switch windows - Hitting tab will cycle through open windows. It will select minimized conversations, to expand them just hit enter. If you just want to cycle through IM’s and don’t care about the buddy list, control-tab will do that and will automatically expand a minimized conversation if you settle on one.

Invitation Tips - You don’t need to say Yes or No when someone wants to add you as a friend; you can simply ignore it, the request will go away. (On the other hand, someone with whom you chat often will automatically turn to be your friend, unless you disable this in the options). ]

Show Hyperlinks - You can show your homepage or blog URL simply by entering the it in your away message (at the top of the main window). It will automatically turn to a link visible to others.

A message can be 32767 characters long.

How To Conference Calls :

What you need to do to have conference calls?

Open up a copy of Google Talk on all computers with which you wish to conference.
After one copy is opened make a new shortcut for Google Talk but at the end of it add /nomutex.
If you installed it to the default folder then your shortcut should read “C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex.
Open 2nd instances of the software on every user’s computer.
After this start a chain:

User 1 should connect on one instance to user 2.
User 2 will connect on his second instance to user 3.
User 3 will connect using his second instance back to user 1.
With this chain everyone is connected to everyone.

Nickname & Status Message :

You can’t change your nickname in a way that other people will see it change.
Every nickname in the Google Talk contactlist is the part that is before @gmail.com (only the alphabetical characters are used) or the name you chosen for your GMail account.
To change the nickname need to go to your Gmail account and change the name there.
Choose Settings, Accounts, and then Edit info.
Click on the second radio button, and enter your custom name.
As a result all of your emails will have that nick as well, there is no way to seperate the two.
You can add a website in your custom message, it will be clickable when someone opens a conversation window with you.

Contacts :

The Gmail account ‘user@gmail.com’ can’t be invited as your friend.

Play Music :

It’s possible to broadcast music, MP3, etc.. through Google Talk.
Unplug your microphone. Double click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
This will open up “Volume Control”. Select “Options” and then “Properties”.
Then check the button next to “Recording” then click OK. You may also have to change your setting under Mixer Device.
Now the Recording Control screen should be up.
On my computer I selected “Wave Out Mix”.
Click on the green phone in Google Talk and call your friend.

Keyboard Shortcuts:

Ctrl + E - It centralizes the selected text, or the current line.
Ctrl + R - It justifies to the right the selected text, or the current line.
Ctrl + L - It justifies to the left the selected text, or the current line.
Ctrl + I - The same thing does that Tab.
Tab - It is giving the area to each of the windows opened by Google Talk.
Ctrl + Tab - The same thing does that Shift + Tab .
Shift + Tab - The same thing does that Tab but in reverse.
Ctrl + Shift + L -Switch between points, numbers, letters, capital letters, roman numbers and capital roman numbers
Ctrl + 1 (KeyPad) - It does a simple space between the lines.
Ctrl + 2 (KeyPad) - It does a double space between the lines.
Ctrl + 5 (KeyPad) - A space does 1.5 between the lines.
Ctrl + 1 (NumPad) - It goes at the end of the last line.
Ctrl + 7 (NumPad) - It goes at the begin of the last line.
Ctrl + F4 - It closes the current window.
Alt + F4 - It closes the current window.
Alt + Esc - It Minimize all the windows.
Windows + ESC - Open Google Talk (if it’s minimized, or in the tray)
F9 - Open Gmail to send an email to the current contact.
F11 - It initiates a telephonic call with your friend.
F12 - It cancels a telephonic call.
Esc - It closes the current window.

Tera Copy - Makes copy easy

You might be thinking what is Tera Copy Now?

Let me tell you that Tera Copy is a software which enables you to files and folders in a very RAPID & consistent manner.
It shows every CRC code which is used by the system to copy the file from one location to other.
Its not that it only copies the file you can also move the files, by using the same typical commands (CTRL + C and CTRL + V), the difference is that the interface will be different and more user friendly.
You can set the buffer level according to amount of data to be copied( from 256kb to 20MB, only in version 1.1)

Note: I have included two versions of Tera Copy in the above link. Its upon you that which one you want to use, 1.1 OR 2.0. I yet use 1.1 cause I like it and also habitual to it.

The main difference in both the version is, in version 1.1 you can set buffer levels manually and in the later version buffer selection is automated.

How to check the Performance of your Computer?

Oh! Its quite simple.

Steps:

Just Goto Start > Run... > type perfmon.msc > Press OK.
You see a window similar to the image given below.
There you can make out the current fluctuations in your System Monitor and many other important information.
