Just catching back up with blog posts. I recently did family photos for a friend and co-worker and another co-worker in the same session! :) Over all, there were a total of 7 kids ranging from 4 - 13 years old. I had my work cut out for me with this "family" and believe me, they are family!! :) Thanks Jess, Eddie and Julie for allowing me to photograph your families!

I've been photographing this family for almost 3 years now. Miss M was my second ever newborn shoot! It's amazing to see how fast they grow! She now has a brother, Mr M, and they are just the cutest! I'm going to try something new this summer. I'm always looking for "Fresh Faces" for my portfolio so I decided that having a contest would be a great way to find some! So Here's how the contest will work. Send in a snapshot of a child that you would like to enter in the "Fresh Faces" contest to clousephoto@gmail.com. Please add "Fresh Faces Photo Contest" to the subject of your email and include the child's First Name, Age and your contact information. Children must be between the ages of 2-14 years old male and female. It needs to be a photo taken by you or someone you know (must be recent within 2 months), no professional photos please. You can also enter someone else you know, but make sure you get their permission first.

Entries should be submitted NLT 11:59 pm June 13th 2009. Once all entries have been received, I'll post all of the entries here on the blog and open the voting! Voting will last for 2 weeks and will be conducted via a poll on the site. Tell your friends and family to come vote for your photo. At the end of the contest, whoever has the most votes will win a session at the location of their choice, (1) 8 x10, (2) 5 x 7, 1 set of 8 wallets and 1 5x10 storyboard of session images, all absolutely free! Second and Third runners-up will receive a mini-session at 50% the session fee. All entrants will receive a coupon for 20% off prints that NEVER expires, just for entering! Win-win situation people! I'm excited about participating in this fantastic new group.

The purpose of this blog is to provide a photography sharing forum that focuses on the art of capturing faces and their various emotions. Each week, bloggers from across the world will have the opportunity to enter their favorite face photos into two different categories ~ kids and adults. A judge will pick a winning photo from each category that will then be displayed on our home page.

Giving is Awesome

I've been thinking about giving back this holiday season and offering photography to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it this Christmas. I then discovered the Giving is Awesome project, a worldwide project of photographers giving away custom photography. At present there are more than 400 photographers offering over $444,000 in free photography. I want to be able to share my photography with someone who will benefit from it, but otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.

So this is how it works.

You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography -- $200 worth, to be exact. Whether it's canvas or prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it's in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a free session ($45 value). What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services.

I posted this information last year when I was accepted into the program but in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and since the 7th Annual Blogger Bobbie-Thon kicked off this morning, I thought I would post it again. If you haven't heard of the Blogger Boobie-Thon, check it out! This year, I'm proud to announce that I'm the Chief Boobie Survivor Coordinator.

Amanda Clouse Photography is excited to announce a new partnership with Think Pink Photography. Founded in October 2007 by Ohio Photographer, Tennille King, Think Pink Photography strives to help breast cancer survivors and their families celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory with a session after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient.

Think Pink Photography is a non-profit organization. Any profits Think Pink Photography receives through donations or various fund raising efforts are donated to the Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation - a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and assistance to families that have been touched by breast cancer.

Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as 20 finished prints from the session. They will also receive a discount off of any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.
