happy mother’s day to all my mommy friends out there.

Well, Hello R-Family! After 2 rain delays, we finally made it to the beach for a perfect evening. I had such a fun time with this beautiful, fun, vibrant family who I have gotten to know over the last year. Thank you for letting me capture this fun time in all of your lives, you are such beautiful people, you really made my job joyful again.

The show itself was wonderful, I didn’t know the Sesame gang could dance so well! When Ernie came on stage in his white disco suit, I was seriously delighted in a great way. It’s clear that the show has been updated to reflect today’s music and dance styles, I couldn’t even count the number of kids literally dancing in the aisles, it was SO cute. It’s difficult to tell who has a better time, the adults or the kids, because everyone was singing , laughing and dancing together.
To sum it up, I think  my 5 year old daughter’s words  say it best.  me ~ “So Teagan, did you like the show”   Teagan~”Like it? No, you mean LOOOOOVED it! That was great!”

Love is in the air and I am thrilled to join the journey as this great couple prepares for their first child.  They were a total blast to work with and somehow, they have decided not to find out what they are having! You will have to check back in a few weeks as we introduce this sweet baby to the world.

And don’t we all wish we looked that amazing during our pregnancies? She is certainly a stunning mama-to-be.

Let me introduce another great family in So-Cal on vacation. But this was not just any vacation, it also included a huge winter storm and the LA Marathon! While we managed to take photos just before the storm hit, I am afraid that the marathon portion was not as lucky.

I was lucky enough to join in on Meia’s First Birthday Celebration!
She was so sweet, funny, adorable and loved. Surrounded by her wonderful family, it became clear that this little girl is very lucky. Lucky to be part of a truly amazing family, and while I was only able to spend a few hours with them, it was a great honor.
The cake, flowers, everything was just perfect for this sweet little girl. and while I know she may not remember the party when she is older, I hope the photos will show what a great time she had turning 1!

Happy Birthday Meia!

Can I just tell you how much fun it is to work with soon-to-be new parents! The excitement, anticipation, wonder, joy and love is totally contagious!
Baby boy is due in a few weeks and he will be welcomed into the world by two really great people, it was so much fun to work with them and I can’t wait to hear all about the new baby soon.

Thanks for letting me capture this amazing time for you, it’s an honor to be welcomed in for a few hours and help you share the joy of your soon to be bigger family.

I am late to post due to connectivity issues, but I did take this last week!

One of our favorite things to do is visit our local farmers market. The fruits and veggies are always beautiful and the girls love the samples. We also see something we have never seen before and this time I stopped to take a closer look. While I have no idea what these are really called, the petals looked more like feathers than part of a flower and they made me happy =)

I have decided to join a 52 weeks project with some photographer friends. While this is something I have wanted to do for awhile, life is busy and this has always seemed to add to may already long to-do list so I haven’t done it.

So why is now such a good time? Well, actually, it’s not. It’s just that as I thought about our group’s theme of “closer” and what it meant to me, I realized that there will NEVER bee a good time.
The truth is that I am doing this for myself. I want to take a closer look at life, my surroundings, my family. Sometimes I get so tied to getting the perfect shot, that I forget to see what is really happening. I was actually getting so focused on the shot that I was missing life, so I stopped taking my camera with me when I wasn’t working.
Please bear with me as this project isn’t about the perfect shot. I really hope it will be about the imperfect shot, but in the end I will have one photo a week to remind me of my journey through 2012.
