I have to admit, Pottery Barn has some pretty amazing stuff. The problem with Pottery Barn though, is if you want to buy something you find on Pinterest or a blog, most likely it’s no longer available. By the time the picture makes its rounds and gets to you, it’s gone. Or maybe you’re just like me, and you’d prefer Read More »

The post Pottery Barn Inspired Weathered Painted Oar appeared first on Crafts by Amanda.

You’re home from the beach with a collection of shells, and now you need something to do with all of them! The kids will love making this school of fish made from seashells, and you can save them as momentos from your vacation. They will look great in a shadowbox frame on your child’s bedroom wall. Recycling cardboard tubes into fun craft projects is always a great activity for kids. With the 4th of July holiday coming up quickly, these easy to make bracelets are a fun way to display your patriotism and get into the spirit of the holiday. Fun for the parade too! To make these bracelets you will need a cardboard tube cut Read More »

The post Patriotic Cardboard Tube Bracelet appeared first on Crafts by Amanda.

I have a quick summer craft project for you and the kids today. Little hand held fans that look like watermelons, made from paper plates and craft sticks! This is a great project for a hot summer day. If you prefer to keep the paint bottles on the shelf, use construction paper instead. Printable instructions below! Like many others, I’m a sucker for tree themed wall art. Especially the fun silhouette type trees that are in style right now. The leaves are left up to interpretation using all sorts of shapes, such as hearts, shamrocks, circles and more. Sometimes ideas just pop in to my head, as was the case with this polka dot circle tree. Read More »

The post Polka Dot Circle Tree appeared first on Crafts by Amanda.

Salt dough is an old favorite that uses flour, salt and water to create fun shapes that are only limited by imagination. Beach decor is probably my all time favorite. I love making things with starfish, seashells, and sand dollars. There’s something about beach decor that brings the ocean indoors and reminds me of how relaxed I feel when I’m there. I live in the midwest, quite a ways from the ocean, so bringing it into my decor is the next best Read More »

The post Weathered Paint Stick Beach Flag appeared first on Crafts by Amanda.

Paperweights have always made great gifts for Father’s Day. They use inexpensive supplies, just head outside and find some rocks, and are easy to make! They’re also useful. Dad can use them at work at his desk, or at home in his own space. These rock paperweights tell dad what he is to you.
