The Yellow parrot is a generic term for the Yellow Naped Amazon, Yellow Crowned Amazon and the Yellow Headed Amazon parrot or the Double Yellow Headed Amazon and the Magma Double Headed Amazon. This article is concerned with the Yellow Headed Amazon parrot and the reason they have this name is clear given where they originate from and the bold coloring. Start by teaching your parrot a word that only has one or two syllables; "hello" is the most common choice. Say "hello" slowly and clearly over and over until your Yellow Amazon makes a sound. It does not have to sound anything like the word "hello", we just want your parrot to make a sound. When he makes a sound give him a piece of food. Keep repeating this process and eventually you will have your parrot saying "hello".

The double yellow headed amazon is native to northern Central America and Mexico. It is stocky parrot with a square tail and is about 17 inches long from head to tail.

However, left untrained the parrot can be a handful of problems that will darn near drive the owner out of the home. Facts and parrot info are vital when raising your parrot, as years of pleasure and enjoyment will be lost, if the bird is not properly cared for.

The parrot has many different types in their family which originate throughout the world. The green Amazon's 27 species originate from South America, yet the Lovebirds originate from South Africa. You will find a species of parrot in nearly every walk of life. The parrot is one of the most intelligent species in the animal kingdom. Because of their bright personalities, it is vital to raise them in an environment which stimulates them- one that is challenging and one that is interesting for them. A parrot is capable of cause-and-effect manners and will constantly be challenging you if the environment does not qualify.

The best parrot info one could receive is train your parrot. This is provided that you are meeting all your parrot's needs, including an optimal diet, plenty of exercise (allow your parrot to fly free around the house for at least fifteen minutes each day) and are providing the parrot with love, understanding and affection.

Training will be fairly easy. Start with simple tricks, such as "step up". This is done by placing your pointer finger across the parrot's stomach and commanding him to "step up" by gently stroking your finger across his lower abdomen. Your parrot will likely be one of the greatest purchases of your life; it will by far outlive your car, and possibly some of your relatives! So, be certain that you can provide a home that will provide the parrot with all their needs, and seek plenty of parrot info- there is never enough of too much knowledge.

Other parrot info that needs to be recognized by all is the parrots' diet. It is important to provide the parrot with an optimal diet to avoid nutritional deficiencies. A well rounded diet would include fresh fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts, and parrot pellets.
