He reflects on when he trained Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko. Jaraiya shows off a new technique sage mode and we meet two new characters, Ma and Pa toad. Also a prophecy was given to Jaraiya from the Great Lord Elder about Naruto and that he would grow up to be a pervert. Jaraiya also discovers more about the rinnegan and the secret behind Pains power. Besides the editing(which I hate) this is another great volume.
I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with Viz's editing habits in these volumes. For the purpose of this review I will only discuss the editing that is done in this volume, not the other ones.

Aside from some of the swearing being toned down there are two major incidents of editing done in this volume. The first being on the eighth page of chapter 347. Konohamaru shows off his improved version of "sexy justsu," to Naruto which involves two naked women holding each other.

In the original version you can actually see the women's faces and bodies, although even in the original nothing explicit is shown. In this version you can only see the women's silhouette's. There is another similar instance two pages later involving Sasuke and Sai in similar positions. Again, you can only see their silhouette's. This editing is a problem for me but not really a deal breaker.

The manga continues from where we left off in volume 37 with Naruto and company battling it out with an Akatsuki member. This particular volume contains a very important scene involving Sasuke and Orochimaru; it is so important that I cannot talk too much about the second half of the volume without spoiling everything unfortunately.

If you have been keeping up with this series until now there should be no reason why you wouldn't purchase this volume as well. Viz has included two bookmarks in this volume featuring Naruto on both of them. There are also bookmarks in volume's 39 and 40. Volume 41, however, does not contain bookmarks but stickers. As of this review 41 volumes of Naruto have been released in America and come April Volumes 42-44 will be released. The two Akatsuki defeated and killed Chiriku and are now looking to collect his 30 million ryo bounty to finance their operations.

Asuma, who also used to be in the Shinobi 12, sets out with Shikamaru and two other elite ninja to track down and kill or capture Hidan and Kakuzu. Meanwhile, Naruto continues to train with Kakashi and Yamato, struggling to master the art of making a "super rasengan". Even the ever-optimistic and driven Naruto is at the end of his rope and is thinking about giving up the attempt. He must figure out a way to change the form and nature of his chakra at the same time, something even the 4th Hokage could never master.

Volume 36 marks the first time we get to see the Akatsuki in action, well, I mean in a fight to the death capacity. I know Itachi showed up at the Leaf Village many volumes ago and had a minor battle with Kakashi, but I saw that as merely a brief skirmish. Yeah, I know, Naruto and his team also fought and defeated Deidara and Sasori. But all these battles have been cakewalks compared to fighting Hidan and Kakuzu. They're in a completely different league.

Hidan has the ability to curse his enemies and cannot be killed. He takes most of the lead in the battle against Cell 10, so confident is he in his abilities. Kakuzu helps Hidan a little bit, but otherwise takes no part in the actual battle. You knew back in earlier volumes that Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi were not going to die fighting Sasori or Deidara, but when Cell 10 fights, being composed of supporting characters, there is more of a sense of danger. Somebody could get killed.

It's also cool to see Kakashi's faith in Naruto. He's giving the boy a full plate by asking him to master the super rasengan. He really believes that Naruto is special and could become not only Hokage, but maybe the most powerful ninja ever. Naruto has come a long way from the early volumes of the manga when he was seen as a village pariah. Now, he seems to be a vital part of Konoha's very survival. What a series!

I originally watched most of it in the original Japanese with subtitles, and although there has been some deviations in translation, the series is still highly entertaining and incredibly imaginative. I find myself racing out to pick up every new volume and I cannot wait till the next volume comes out.

In many ways, Volume 29 can be described as a series of smaller battles in preparation for some major confrontations. Kikashi and Naruto take on Itachi and Guy and his team battle Kisame. All of this takes place while the Akatsuke start extracting the fox spirit from Gaara's body.

For Naruto fans, this is a great volume, one that will leave you itching for more.

[Story of a small ninja from the village had been in the starting Konoha]

Naruto Indeed, whether what he thought of his actions ... silly. Early in the Hokage Monument scribbled paint wear. Shape of the faces of the Hokage monument exists, whose nose had been drawn more like a runny nose like a nose bleed. Lashes on the bottom add the paint, rather than just add pretty impressed like everyone was crying. then where it comes from the idea that Naruto? once so cocky people. Not to mention, he's just tying a rope belly to paint the monument. if the rope broke up .. never mind .. harm him.

Outside of that problem, whether it occurred in our minds, about how people build a monument Hokage Konoha village is. What did they build it using ninja tactics? Tai Jutsu, Nin Jutsu or genjutsu?

Perhaps in his day Naruto existing sculptors. So they who build the Hokage monument. And they make by using a chisel to carve and shape the faces of the Hokage. One sculpture carvings and then with the next so as to form the faces of the Hokage. It must be so cool that makes this the Hokage Monument. And surely the man has a soul of high art yan. Location of the monument that was indeed located above.

3rd Hokage seems to have often heard about Naruto's behavior is often wickedly. Maybe before, and before this story begins Naruto Naruto've often do act. Visible mimic Hokage faces expressing Fuh!!. Breathe deeply and say to myself "this kid again ... this kid again.

Starting from Chapter 1 of this en exclaimed about the life story of Naruto will tell. How Naruto Ninja Academy when, How the time does not pass the exam Naruto ninja. How is he on deceptive by Mizuki who his teacher was none other than his own to steal the secret ninja scrolls stance on Hokage's house. How did the events that eventually Iruka, Naruto teachers who initially did not pass the exam ninja Naruto, eventually released as an event that was so touching. To be sure this comic really exciting story ....
It introduces the characters back after two to three years being a part. As Naruto fans read on.... It shows how each character changes, such as appearance, dealing with growing up and more responsibility, thoughts, Senseis or tutors and how their friendships become a stronger bond. Naruto fans will love this book.

I am amazed at how much boys and even some girls love these books. I have many requests for the books and I have to buy them for my classroom. They love them! My students are from Asian countries so Naruto is a big hit. They can read them online in Chinese, Japanese and Korean which is great. Then they can refer to them in English.

We catch up on all the ninja's that took part in the Sasuke Retrieval mission, and we find out what all our favourite ninja's plan to do over the 2 and a half years before the timeskip. Then Part One ends with a chilling image of what is to come in part two.

The second half, however is what makes this book unique. It covers the story of how Kakashi got his Sharingan. A heartbreaking and yet deep insight into how Kakashi's personality was shaped to be what it is now. Any Kakashi fans will adore this story, however all Naruto fans will find the story enjoyable.

2 Thumbs up and a high reccommendation for people that have read the previous 26 books. Though I wouldn't reccommend anyone to start on Book 27 as it's the book following a huge climax.

My family loves Naruto. We have watched every episode up to the point where Hidan and his partner (forgot his name) go after the two-tail cat demon and have most of the DVD sets. We have aleady bought and are waiting on DVD Set 7 now. But, there is no episode that tells the story of Kakashi's sharingan eye, that I know of. Volume 27 does just that. My kids have a few of the manga volumes. But, this one tells what hasn't been shown in any of the animated episodes. It is a great read if you like Naruto and want to know more about Kakashi. We would like to see this volume become an animated movie like the lost story of the waterfall village, which we already have.

Also, my daughter has trouble reading and I would have problems getting her to read; but because of her interest in Narurto and her crush on Sasuke, she looks forward to reading the mangas and has been reading them religiously on her own. Naruto, desperate to bring Sasuke back to Konoha will stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. However Naruto will find this difficult as Sasuke is obsessed with finding Orochimaru so he can gain a greater power.

This highly exciting battle is easily the highpoint of this great series so far. And the climax will have you holding your breath in anticipation.

Even if you haven't read the first 25 books, this would be an easy point to jump in and start as the book covers the climax of part one without relying too much on previous plots (with the exception of the Itachi flashback). However, to get the full enjoyment out of this I strongly reccommend you read all of this brilliant series.

It is here. The fight we've all been waiting for is in this volume. Next up shippuuden naruto in vol 28. In the anime however I think we got about 89 more episodes (fillers) to go before we get to the shippuuden. Although, honestly I think I prefer naruto as a 12 yr old. he's a bit more reckless and eger

Brilliant how Masashi Kishimoto used Sasuke & Narutos relationship "Brotherhood" and compared it with the relationship Sasuke had with his brother Itachi.
Kimimaro, who finally reveals himself, makes his comrades look pathetic. But still, he is not as menacing as he acts.

Naruto shares the spotlight with Kiba and Shikamaru as the three have their seperate battles to attend to. All three battles are thrilling. Kiba and Shikamaru, both, deserve more attention and definetley get it in this volume.

I'm a reader too, and i read the chapters via internet. But when i read the fan translated version of this, i was moved by the story of it, and i love the characters development, in my opinion this is a turning point in the manga.

After Naruto and Sasuke's fight, the sound four comes into town to try and take Sasuke to Orchimaru. But eventually, the sound four went away and give Sasuke a choice, stay weak and continue living in Konoha, or come with us and become stronger.

So this is all i can spoil here. But this is a really good volume. It has awesome drawings, a mind blowing story, and drama, drama, and more drama. So pick this book up today, and i'll review the next few volumes until volume 27 hits stores in dec

Not that the anime doesn't have it's good points but you can't beat the original story (and it doesn't have filler episodes).

Naruto doesn't seem to be falling into the Dragonball Z series trap of ever increasing villians to fight (and fight....), it actually has a story and the author does a good job of keeping things on track.

A good series for most ages (only the very young should take care, there is violence).

his volume takes place when the 5th hokage takes her position as hokage. Sasuke believes that naruto has become stronger than him so they battle each other out. You have GOT to get this book.

I know i'm not the only one here. ANY female character in Naruto is weak/has-no-sense-of-moral/shallow/outmatched. Sakura, Ino, Ten-Ten, Hinata, Temari, Kurenai--you name it.

Now unviel Tsunade. Smart. Strong. Beautiful. Complicated past. A legend. Kimimoto fails to bring her to this height.

Smart? Yeah, in medicine. Spends her free time "investing" in large debts and often takes unnecessary bets.

Strong? Sure. Has super strength. Appropriate power for a tempramental women. Other than that, almost destroyed a whole village in order to bring her loved ones back to life.

Beautiful? Yep. Uses her jutsu to look younger than 50 (M.K. probably couldn't draw a middle-aged women).

See? Yeah, I've seen better.
