To dare

2012-08-28T12:55:00.001-07:00

Just a quick update while I wait for Hurricane Isaac to get here...
I'm working on a watercolor/ink thing. Nothing big just something I wanted to play around with my aquarelles and ink pens. I don't know what I like to use more, aquarelles, or ink pens. Acrylic is also one of my favorites, but not as much as the previous two.

See that? That's what you can do with watercolor & ink! Yes, that's mine, I didn't steal it from the interwebs. That's just the bottom portion though. I'm still working on the whole thing.

I really should've blended the colors together better. I thought I'd like them separated... I was wrong. Also... wtf is up with the tentacle thing up top? Ink is kinda permanent so it stays, but I'm adding onto it. I'm going to use it and some more tentacle viney things to frame the top a bit. And in the center I want to use this:

It might be a little hard to read because it's on a transparent background but I really like the font. My only problem is, I don't know how to do THAT with a pen. Also, It won't be pink, it'll be black.

How do you think this little project of mine is going to turn out? If you have any requests message me or comment below!

Have a happy hurricane everyone ;)

I'd like to share the website with you for the font generator I used. They have a few different cursive fonts and it's totally free! http://fontmeme.com/cursive-fonts/#none
Also if anyone is curious as to what aquarelles are, they are watercolor pencils. My favorite is Staedtler ergosoft. They have handy packaging that allows you to prop the pencil box up. I'm using an 05 artist ink pen by Micron. For any help with using ink or watercolor, message me or comment below.

Wishing Tree

2012-07-05T16:49:00.000-07:00

I have finished my first acrylic painting and decided to name it Wishing Tree!

I've never really painted with acrylic before, just with watercolor. But I decided to just get some paint and canvas and jump in! What does it matter if I screw up? It's my art, and if I don't like it I can do something else. So, with that in mind, I creating the Wishing Tree.

Selling for $100. It's been sprayed with finishing varnish.
Deminsions are approximately 48 inches wide x 18 inches in height, with a 1/2 inch border.
There are two seperate panels, measuring 18x24 each.

Spirit Tree

2012-06-30T19:21:00.003-07:00

I've never painted with acrylic before, but I LOVE IT!!

I was using the cheapest kind of acrylic paint I could find, and I found some inspirational pictures on the web to help me with what I should paint. I'm not finished with it, I still have to paint in the circles and the tree on the right side. I have to buy more paint first! This painting is 18 inches from top to bottom, and 48 inches from side to side

I think I'm going to name it "Spirit Tree"

I'll be updating the blog with the finished product in a day or two, so check back soon!!

Music and Emotions

2012-06-12T21:49:00.000-07:00

The watercolor I painted tonight started out as something happy, bright, and lovely. Then a sad, beautiful song came on Pandora. I found the song on YouTube and put it on repeat. This painting was inspired by that song.

"Lonely Anywhere"

This is only my second or third watercolor. I'm used to aquarelles, not paintbrushes, but I love playing with the water! There are so many different things you can do. This painting is wild and crazy. It expresses a sadness that every person has, but there's beauty in it.

There's always hope; always a silver lining.

The song is called Lonely Anywhere by The Everybodyfields.

Love. Nature.

2012-05-16T23:46:00.000-07:00

I have a miniature orchard at my miniature horse farm. We have fig trees, peaches, pecans, plums, apples, lemons, pears; all kinds of fruits! When winter is at an end all of the plants start to bloom. It's a very beautiful thing to see. I captured multiple images of my plants but I only have two that I really like. I also have an image of one of my horses. She's beautiful.
Let me know what you think. :)

Sun Flower

2012-02-26T08:48:00.000-08:00

I found some really beautiful tulips in a grocery store near my house. They remind me of the sun because of the vivid color in the petals, so I decided to photograph them outside in the sun where they belong! Check them out on the digital page. For inquiries about purchasing my art, send me a message or leave a comment.

UPLOAD

2012-02-11T09:11:00.000-08:00

I'll be uploading some more digital photography soon! Also to come will be some black and white film photography. It's all in the works ladies and gentlemen. ;)

Here's a preview.

Digital

2012-01-23T22:37:00.000-08:00

This blog is about my artwork; mostly photography. Check out the seperate pages for digital and film, there are some really amazing shots on both. I'll go ahead and give a sneak peak here. ;)

I really enjoy finding beauty and art in simple things. My favorite things to photograph are floral and landscapes. One day I would like to invest in a Panoramic camera, made ONLY for panoramic images, but that's a long ways away. For now I have two small digital cameras and a film SLR.

These images are my own and I own all copyrights to them. Please do not duplicate.

In the beginning....
