Favorite TV Show or Movie: No idea. I don't have a favorite. I do really like Beyblade Burst.

Favorite Snack: Fiber One Brownie Bites

Name one thing you do really well? Beyblading
Describe what it means to be a good friend? It means to be kind and loving. It means to spend time with them and point them toward God.
Favorite time of day? I don't have one
Describe your best day ever? Eat pizza for breakfast, eat pizza for lunch, eat salmon for dinner. Play with Graham all day (if we didn't fight). Play Grossery Gang and buy 20 Fungus Amungus packs.
Describe your favorite hobby: I kind of don't really have one
Climbing is fun.
I wish there were a law that said on March 28th everything is free.
What makes you feel sad? When Zoe draws heartbroken pictures (she did this when Bennett hurt her feelings).
What makes you feel happy? New stuff. Then I said, "Really?" He said, "Not for very long. Friends. Friends make me happy."
Pretend you can fly. Where would you go? Italy and eat spaghetti, meatballs and pizza. I would ride in a Gondola.
Where do you want to go on vacation? To the beach
If you could choose a different name what would you choose? I don't know
What is your favorite thing to do with mom and dad? Play, not anything specific.
What would you say about Jesus? That He is our Savior and He is wonderful.

2 Year Old: Levi

Time keeps ticking which means my baby boy is 2! Every year seems to go a little quicker than the last and this year has been no different. Levi loves vehicles with trucks being his favorite. His day is spent playing with trucks, looking at truck books, pointing out trucks while we drive, walking to our neighbors to play with their outdoor trucks, digging in the sand with trucks, and occasionally riding his trike or balance bike.

Around 18 months his vocabulary began to explode. He now puts together 2-3 word phrases. Many of his words and phrases are not clear to others, but I typically know what he is saying. He says"

Bent for Bennett
Weeooo, Weeooo for ambulance and police car

He loves to dig in the sand and the mulch with his vehicles. He loves to jump on the trampoline with his siblings. He enjoys crawling around the house playing dog and cat with Zoe. He loves splashing during bath time. He loves to climb up the ladder to the monkey bars, attic, top bunk, pretty much anywhere. He is crazy coordinated and desires to do everything his brother and sister are doing.

He is still most easily comforted by his boppy (pacifier) and boppy/stinky (lovie). At this season in my life he may have them until he is 4. Life is too short to worry about it.

His favorite time of day is when daddy comes home.

He is by far my pickiest eater. He prefers breakfast foods. He almost always will eat:

Yogurt
Sausage
Eggs
Cereal
Oatmeal
Applesauce
Goldfish, animal crackers, granola bars, sugary foods :)

No matter how many vegetables I put on his plate (which is daily) he will not chew them up and swallow them. He may chew on them for a few seconds, but always spits them out. If I cook ribs or wings for dinner he almost always eats them, but everything else is a "sometimes" or never food. He will sometimes eat cheese, meatballs, bread, a bite of carrot with dip, grapes, orange, banana, grilled chicken, pureed veggie pouch, pulled pork, and salmon.

He used to be the best sleeper. At bedtime we would walk in lay him down and he would sleep until 6 or 7 a.m. All of that has changed. He now wants to be rocked before bed and nap. He often cries and yells for us once we lay him down. He wakes up anywhere from 1-3 times at night and is up between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. with 5:30 being the most common. He takes one nap a day typically around 11:30-1:30.

He wears a size 2T and a size 6 diaper. Unlike his siblings he asks to wear a shirt with a truck or train on it almost daily. For a few months he would be very upset if I choose something different. Now he has expanded his choices a bit :)

He has entered a more challenging phase, but to be honest he mainly makes us laugh and entertains us. His lack of fear often leaves me nervous, yet laughing hysterically. His toddle and his constant asking to go outside can make me crazy, yet make me smile. His refusing to get in his high chair or car seat or crib can evoke anger, yet I think of his sweet face and it all fades.

To my truck loving rooster,

I love you. You have come in and swept us off our feet. The way you adore each member of our family in your own way brings joy to my heart. You hug us one minute and hit us the next :) You are our little firecracker. I pray God uses your love for life to spread His truth to the nations. I pray He always guards your heart and your life. May He mark you with His spirit, so that you always know He loves you and is with you. I love you so very much and am grateful to our God that He placed you in our family. Keep being joyful little man.

5 Year Old: Zoe

She is bold and shy. She is sweet and sassy. She is stubborn and tender. She is confident and afraid. She is a leader, not a follower. She knows what she likes and does not change her mind easily. One moment she is dancing around light as a feather, the next she is dropping a butt bomb on her brother while jumping on the trampoline. She is independent yet needy. She is my girl. She is her daddy's girl. She loves to snuggle on our laps yet never stops squirming. She has a smile that covers her whole face and is full of expression.

She faces change with grace and confidence. Whether it be moving to a new home, changing Sunday school classes, attending a new school, vacationing in a different time zone, canceling plans, etc. She quickly settles in.

She has grown to really enjoy playing with Bennett and is often sad/angry when he wants to do something else. She continues to enjoy hugging, kissing, and correcting Levi. She beams when he walks up to hug her.

She napped 3-4 days for the majority of the past year having stopped at the beginning of summer. She continues to share a room with B. They go to bed (now that school has begun) around 7:30. She typically falls asleep before their podcast/audiobook is finished, but sometimes we have to lay with her to fall asleep around 8-8:15 p.m. She wakes up anywhere between 6:00-7 a.m., but for the most part it is closer to 7.

She has started Kindergarten and is the youngest in her class. She seems to be holding her own. At times I am concerned that she will lose confidence in her academic journey being 1 year younger than most of her classmates, but am reminded of her bold personality while I watch her lead a group of kids 1-3 years older than her in play. God truly has given her the ability to lead. I pray He continues to develop her ability to lead with humility, gentleness, and confidence.

She is becoming more of a "girly" girl. She enjoys having her nails painted, applying lotion, wearing jewelry, brushing her hair, picking out her clothes, wearing chapstick, and asking if she can fix my hair. Girly does not mean she doesn't love to play hard :) She climbs trees, loves to swing, jumps on the trampoline, swings on the trapeze, crosses the monkey bars, and anything else the boys like to do.

Speaking of being a "girly" girl she got her ears pierced in May. One day, while playing at the mall, she asked to get it done, but once we walked into the store she became nervous and decided to wait. The rest of the day she talked about getting them pierced. We talked about fear and what it means to be courageous. She woke up the next morning and said, "I am going to face my fear today." And she did.

She is never in a hurry which is hard for this get it done and move on momma, but her approach to life is helping me to slow down and think about what is important.

She loves and misses her cousin Kyrie and often asks when we get to go and visit or when she will be coming to see us. She also misses her best friend Lilly (from Preschool) and asks when we will get to play with her. She is making new friends this year, but I have noticed she enjoys having one really close friend that is consistently present in her life from day to day.

She adds so much joy to our family. She is the gift I never knew I wanted. I am so so so grateful to God for placing Zoe Jane in our family. She teaches us to be more gentle, more attentive, more consistent, more patient, and to slow down and listen.

Zoe: 5 Year Old Interview

It may be near impossible to get in a birthday photo shoot now-a-days, but our birthday interview tradition is easy and fun. Zoe has reached the 5 year milestone birthday, so we asked her 34 questions that we also asked her at 3 and 4 years old. I am surprised by how many of her answers are the same as last year. Here are her responses:

May 14th: For Mother's Day I asked for an afternoon to myself. I ate lunch, got a pedicure, shopped a little, and enjoyed some outdoor reading before Sam and the kids joined me for dinner at Lafayette Village.

May 15th: No photos

May 16th: We went to Chick-fil-A for dinner and much to our surprise it was family night. Zoe had her face painted and the painter was amazing. She also got to plant a flower.

May 17th: Tonight was Cubbies awards night for Zoe at Awana. The program has been a huge blessing to our family. Here are a few snapshots for you.

May 18th: As school comes to a close we took the time to enjoy the park for the few hours before picking up big brother.

May 18th: We celebrated the last day of Pre-K 4 with ice cream, bench jumping, and best friends.

2017 Project 365: 5/7-5/13

May 7th: I didn't take any photos

May 8th: Levi had his 18 month well check today. Poor guy received 4 shots and had some fluid in his right ear.

May 9th: Look at those lashes.

May 11th: I want to always remember how much this little rooster loved to play with his car hauler's.

May 12th: We celebrated Zoe's completion of Pre-Kindergarten. She performed several songs and a verse with the rest of her class.

She was recognized for having a servants heart by her teachers.

May 13th: My in-laws gifted us tickets to North Carolina Symphony's Dr. Suess for Kids. It was very enjoyable. They performed Sneetches and Green Eggs and Ham. The music for Sneetches was accompanied by a ballet performance of the story. The music for Green Eggs and Ham was accompanied by 2 opera singers.

The performance included free face painting. Bennett had green eggs and ham on his face and Zoe had the Cat in the Hat.

April 16th: It was a wonderful Easter. We hosted 35 people (including children) in our home for lunch and an egg hunt after church and it was GREAT. Each family brought a dish, the weather was lovely, and we ate and played and hunted and thanked God for His gift of salvation.

April 18th: The kids are on Spring Break this week, so they were with me for our MOPS play date.

April 19th: Post-lunch play at Marbles is always a fun time.

April 9th: I have been in a DIY mood. Sam sanded a round pedestal table I plan to stain and paint.

April 10th: He teeter-totters while the big kids jump with daddy.

April 11th: This guy is too much. He loves to drag big brother's back pack and lunchbox around after school.

April 13th: Every week, we drop B off at school and go to the grocery before taking Z to school at 9.

April 14th: The kids were out of school for Good Friday, so we explored JC Raulston Arboretum.

April 2nd: The stomach bug hit our house :(

March 26th: We celebrated Bennett's birthday a few days early at Galaxy Fun Park. It was so much fun. Bennett and his guests jumped in the jump zone, rode the bumper cars, played laser tag, and ate pizza and cupcakes. It was wonderful having my nephews here.

March 27th: The boys were enjoying a game of dodge ball (Sam and Chris were throwing balls from the deck).

March 28th: Happy Birthday Bennett. Doughnuts in the morning and Marbles Museum with cousins.

March 29th: My sister and family headed home today. I took B on a field trip with his class, but I didn't take any photos.

March 30th: We closed on our new house today. We are able to walk there from our current house and are very excited to be staying in our neighborhood.

March 31st: We were attending a Stars Wars birthday party that involved water balloons :) Levi found it very funny.

April 1st: We spent the afternoon looking at furniture, playing at the park, and exploring Apex.

March 5th: This stool was a gift for his brother several years ago, but it has been a favorite of all three children.

March 6th: Dancing Princess Zoe was leading her Shopkins through an obstacle course.

March 7th: Illness means freedom to watch cartoons on a school day.

March 8th: I didn't take any photos

March 9th: Zoe was playing peek-a-boo with him and he was cackling.

March 10th: I drove to Knoxville to meet my college roommates for a girls weekend, so I did not take any photos.

March 11th: We spent Saturday eating, exploring, shopping, laughing, walking, and speaking of our great God.

This past week I was not feeling creative, so most of the images are rather boring in my opinion. However, I am so thankful I committed to this 365 photo a day journey. I have already enjoyed looking back at our daily lives.

February 26th: Bennett performed in front of an audience for the first time since starting piano lessons. It was wonderful.

February 27th: Playing doctor with small group friends.

February 28th: Racing Shopkins down the slide with her best friend.

March 1st: B has been reading Geronimo Stilton. He was so into this book he finished it before leaving the table.

March 2nd: Zoe was so excited to host her daddy at school for "Mad about Dad" lunch.

March 3rd: He climbs on anything and everything.

March 4th: She was teaching her doll gymnastics.

February 19th: Raleigh has had the most beautiful weather. We spent the majority of the afternoon outside on Sunday.

February 20th: Clapping while saying, "Yay!"

February 21st: The kids were on winter break, so we joined our MOPS friends for a lovely day at the playground.

February 22nd: On top of the world at Durham Life and Science Museum

February 23rd: Though she be little she is fierce.

February 24th: He followed her back and forth begging for "nack".

February 25th: Levi got his first professional haircut Saturday.

February 12th: They had a daddy/daughter date to the park and Goodberry's for ice cream.

February 13th: I still think I took a photo, but I can't seem to find it :)

February 14th: Lambie from Doc McStuffins was the perfect way to say, "I love you," to this Valentine.

February 15th: Our family spends every Wednesday night at Awana (Sam and I lead a Sparks group. Bennett is a member of Sparks. Zoe is a member of Cubbies. Levi goes to the nursery). Bennett was running a relay during game time.

February 16th: B was home sick, so Levi got some one on one time with him making marble runs.

February 17th: Waiting for the Orthopedic Doc to check his arm. The bone is healing well. Two more weeks wearing the splint and then he is allowed to return to normal activities without it.

February 18th: B went to his friend Julia's birthday party at Flour Power. They made pizza's and fruit kabobs.

(I really need to start formatting and sharpening my images for the we. The overall color and sharpness really chance after uploading)

February 5th: Big brother took a few moments to read to Zoe. She was sick, so the couch was her home.

February 6th: This little guy is a baller.

February 7th: He loves to slide head first.

February 8th: I didn't pick up the camera today

February 9th: Nexo Knights

February 10th: No photos again today, but we did have a date night while our small group watched the kids :)

February 11th: The kids were dancing with the Go Noodle app

January 29th: We went to the library on Sunday afternoon. I simply love the library and love living less than 2 miles from the library pictured below. (He is wearing a splint on his left arm, because he broke it last week when climbing over a fence. Thankfully, it was a very small fracture. so he was able to avoid a cast).

January 30th: Bennett started piano lessons at the beginning of the school year. He enjoys it and practices daily.

January 31st: Wherever mom and dad can go I can go too.

February 1st: You know you are tired (and getting sick) when you fall asleep eating your snack.

February 2nd: I didn't use my camera today. Zoe was home sick.

February 3rd: This guy is a hoot. He was checking out the "click" he heard.

He daily climbs onto the Lego table to tear them apart, throw cars on the floor, and explore Zoe's Shopkins.

Febuary 4th: I don't know how often I will share photos that are not of my children, but this weekend I attended the IF: Gathering simulcast at my church. This image pretty much sums it up.

January 22nd: Zoe has been taking a dance/gymnastics class since the beginning of the school year. Today she had her first dance recital and it was precious. Simple and lovely and she shined as bright as the sun.

January 23rd: She asked to wear her recital tutu to dance on Monday. It was a warm January day, so we played outside when we returned home.

January 24th: The freedom of childhood.

January 25th: After school errands and a little fun.

January 26th: I can go down the big slide too.

January 27th: He spent 18 hours without stinky and it was long. When reunited he shook with excitement. He fell asleep in the car and slept for almost 4 hours.

Post-work, pre-dinner reading.

January 28th: Lunch and painting with her best friend (the mom's tagged along and picked up the bill).

January 15th: Our dear friends, the Shah's, were visiting from Charlotte. After hours of playing the girls took a break to watch some Doc McStuffins.

January 16th: No school in observance of Martin Luther King's birthday. Sadly, B has not been reading much, so I was happy to walk into this view.

January 17th: Levi has developed a fascination for James the Red Engine and Toby. Bennett loved these same two trains when he was Levi's age, because they talk when a button is pushed.

January 18th: I foresee a balance bike in his future. I could not choose just one :)

January 19th: Bennett has been teaching Zoe how to become the Ninjago Master of Strength.

January 20th: Sam was out of town, so Grandma came to lend a helping hand. Time with Grandma is some of our very best times.

January 21st: I didn't use my DLSR today, nor did I take many iPhone photos. Here is one of our little baller.

January 8th: We experienced our first snow since moving to North Carolina. The big kids enjoyed sledding various hills in our neighborhood.

January 9th: No school means more time in the snow. (iPhone)

January 10th: We are over the snow, but still out of school which leads to crazy indoor activities.

January 11th: Jump for joy! Back to school we go.

January 12th: We took an after school trip to Marbles Children's Museum

January 13th: He loves to be bounced on the trampoline by his siblings.

January 14th: North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences with the Shah's

2017 Project 365: 1/1-1/7

I am torn about beginning a 365 project. I currently do not feel very motivated to shoot, upload and share a photo every day, but I do want my photography to improve this year and this is one of the best ways to do it. With that said some days I will be working to improve my photography skills and other days I will be snapping a quick shot of my children to remember a moment.

January 1st: Levi enjoying Sam's co-worker Debbie's dog on New Year's day.

January 2nd: Gymnastics class is a weekly favorite for Zoe

January 3rd: Open gym play at Abbott's Creek Community Center is huge blessing since we have one hour and twenty minutes between pre-school and elementary school pick ups.

January 4th

January 5th: Bennett's first grade class led chapel. Bennett gave the definition of kindness during the class skit.

January 6th: She is always so excited when she spots my car in carline.

January 7th: Our first snow day since moving to North Carolina deserves its own post, but here is a favorite.
