I did have one.

Actually, for the longest time, I've been wanting to go hairless down there. Even before I got married. I just didn't have enough courage to actually do it. And I didn't know any place that does it. And I was kinda shy about it because I don't know anybody who actually had a Brazilian wax, much more somebody who has an open mind about it.

To make the long story short, the obstacles to my hairless-ness went away. Thankfully, I am now surrounded by confident women (naaaaaaaaaaaaks! ) who have had a Brazilian wax or two already. Mr. Frost showed our a former officemate's post about her recent "treatment".

I checked her blog yesterday and chatted with her on YM about it. She even volunteered to go with me to the waxing salon where she had hers. I was kinda hesistant at first because she said it's really painful. Then I realized, it couldn't be worse than giving birth to two big babies (considering my body frame) normally without any anesthesia (both times!), right?

Also after opening my legs wide countless times in front of my OB and two times in front of male interns and nurses during my pregnancies and childbirth, whatever inhibition I had about showing my "thingie" (to people other than my husband) completely went away. I was ready to do it.

So my date with Ching at the end of the month is set.

A few more hours into the day, I found out that one of my officemates, Spamderella, has been doing it already, and she does it herself. And another officemate has done it twice already, in the same waxing salon Ching recommended. And she's planning to have another one that night.

So we went to Lay-Bare last night.

What can I say? BRAZILIAN WAX FOR THE WIN! I loooooooove the result!

It's not the wax-paper strip-pull kind that I'm familiar with. They have rubbery stuff kneaded in their hands, the color of contact cement, or "rugby" to you Vasecans , and the texture of clay. The attendant spread a part of it on a small area of my, uh, bikini area, and pulled. She kneaded the stuff again, put it on another part, and pulled. Wash, rinse, repeat until the whole area is as smooth as a baby's behind.

All I can say is that I enjoyed my "first time" because I had friends with me. Good thing also that we were the only customers left so we can laugh about it all we want. And laugh is what I did, literally.

For every painful pull that the attendant did, I laughed. I mean, really laughed. I don't know, but I kinda felt that the pain went away faster when I laughed, when I just tried to enjoy the experience.

I even said we were lucky there were no other customers around because I would have freaked them out and they'd think I'm a crazy masochist bitch.

I wasn't enjoying the pain, okay? I just find it... funny. It's like, I can't decide if it's painful enough to make me cry, or just enough to make me scream or curse. So I just laughed. I burst out a curse word three - JUST THREE - times. And that's because the attendant pulled when I was answering her question, completely off my guard, the bitch.

To describe the feeling more accurately, for those who are considering to have a Brazilian wax too, it's more like a burning sensation kind of pain. As what Ching said, it's like having a lighter on yout thingie for 5 seconds. With about 50 repetitions. The more hair you have, the more reps. Something like that.

All in all, I think I did well on my "first time." I didn't cry, nor called for my "Mommy", nor got even with the nice attendant for giving me pain. I laughed, cursed a little, almost torn a page off of the magazine I was holding. I did fine.

Yep, Master Jedi, I did well. I made you proud.

The Font Conference

My Fonts folder in my PC, both at home and at work, is about 300MB. For a graphic designer and anyone else who NEEDS to have a lot of style in stock, that's probably small. But for everybody else, it IS big.

I sort of collect fonts so I have a lot of choices whenever my design-something bug bites me. As my good fugitive friend Qadaffy puts it, "It's cheap, and useful."

Anyway, that same friend shared this hilarious video to me, when we were talking about my fascination with fonts. Her better half, who shares my fondness over stylized alphabets, discovered it early this year.

Whitout further ado, I present you, The Font Conference.

Strollers

I know, I know. I haven't been around for a while.

Pardon me, but I was trying to get the hang of caring for a toddler and an infant.

Issen has turned two recently, and Kobe has grown to be a very handful baby at seven months. It's been a crazy ride, but at least Issen has been a really good big brother so far and has been making it easier for us to deal with them two boys.

We didn't get much new stuff for Kobe since Issen's baby things are still in very good condition, especially the clothes. Once Mr. Frost has decided that Kobe is big enough to bring with us whenever we go out, we knew there are things that our boys couldn't share or at least, use at the same time.

Strollers, for example.

We bought a second-hand stroller for Issen when he was younger. And since we don't go out that much, it's still in an excellent condition. We needed to buy another for Kobe, but since Issen has practically outgrown the old one which we will call "Blue", we decided to pass it on to Kobe and buy a new one for Issen. Thus we bought "Green".

Getting a new stroller was not an easy feat, mind you. There are several types of strollers to choose from. We have limited budget, but so many requirements, mostly related to safety, so it was kinda hard for us. Lightweight and umbrella strollers can be convenient, but if you have a big kid like Issen, you might think twice about it's durability. Of course, there are those that can be durable enough, but they can come to be expensive.

We considered all terrain strollers, but they can be very bulky and heavy. If you travel with kids by yourself, it can be pretty hard. If you have other grownups with you, it's fine so somebody can watch your kids while you put away the stroller to the trunk of your car.

I wanted to get one of those tandem strollers, so the boys can sit side by side, in line, or face to face. Unfortunately, there aren't much tandems in our area. The ones we found are quite pricey. Like I've said, we have limited budget, so even a five-thousand stroller can still be expensive for us.

We settled on one of those full-featured, single strollers. It has a roomy basket, a canopy, easy to fold, it reclines, and most importantly, it's big enough for our 20-kilo two-year-old boy.

So now we go around, mostly when we bring the kids tothe doctor for their check ups, with two strollers. It's fun when Mr. Frost and I walk side by side, one stroller for each, and seeing Issen trying to reach Kobe from his stroller.

I can't wait when Kobe is big enough to try and reach for his big brother. But by that time, Issen is probably big enough to walk on his own for long periods of time and we won't need a stroller for him anymore.

EXHIBIT 014 - Decoration Fail

Yesterday, Mr. Frost sent me a link with the words "Maghanda ka na dito." (Prepare yourself for this.)

What did I see on the link he gave?

see more pwn and owned pictures

I could already imagine Issen and Kobe. Copy and paste everything to a new post and Add your name next to your profession (or profession-to-be for undergrads) in the list. Make sure your name is linked to your blog/webbie.
Tip: For easier capture of links, paste into your blog using the “Visual” (for WP) and Compose (for Blogger) modes (not Edit HMTL or HTML).

2. If your profession is not in the list then simply add it to the correct alphabetical place. For example, if you want to add PLUMBER then it should be placed in between ONCOLOGIST and QUEEN.

3. Or maybe I was just expecting too much. I don't know what to expect, really. I probably just wasn't ready to go back at all.

To start with, I wore the wrong set of clothes. Wrong boots, wrong pants, wrong blouse, even the wrong bra. I don't feel "me" because of what I'm wearing. And I realized that when I was already at our office building.

Then, when I got to my desk, my computer wasn't there, which is understandable since they had a renovation while I was on leave. When I got my PC, there was some issues that made me unable to access my account. For one, I had to restart my password because I forgot my old one. Then I still can't log in - something about my IP being locked because I haven't log in for a long time. Talk about security measures.

Around after lunch, when they finally fixed my server access, things went on smoothly for a while. I sorted my emails (please don't even dare ask how much I got), sorted my files, etc.

Then around 4ish in the afternoon, I started feeling queasy. I can't describe what's wrong, but it felt like I was dizzy because of hunger and I wasn't hungry at all. Well, I didn't feel like eating. I drank lots of water because I thought I must be dehydrated. Nothing changed. Now I'm munching on some crackers, hoping I'd feel better. That remains to be seen.

Oh well, so much for my return.

The Dairy Queen will be back in three days...

Technically, today is the last day of my maternity leave. I play to be really good. I play to kick ass. "Career" mode, as they call it.

I used to have a great time with Mr. Frost kicking ass on our favorite online game. We would play for hours, being in the same party, helping each other complete quests or power level.

I can still remember how my temper would rise up when I can't complete a crash course in Burnout 3. Or when I can't get past an AI opponent in Soul Calibur 3. Or when I'm stuck in God of War 2. I wouldn't stop until I achieve my goal, which is to win or finish the game.

When I gave birth to Issen, I thanked heavens for the invention of nursing pillows, specifically My Brest Friend. I could keep on playing PS2 or computer games even while breastfeeding my baby. "Look, Ma! No hands!" had a new meaning to me.

Now, I just play to relax and enjoy what little "me" time that I have. I didn't really lose interest. I can't really say that becoming a parent does to you, because I know a lot of parents who are still playing as hard as they did when their bundles of joys were not existent yet. Priorities and perspective probably just changed.

Instead of playing, I'd rather write for my blog most of the time. Instead of checking out game sites to keep myself updated with new game releases, I'd rather read blogs in my network or check out baby sites for tips on child caring.

I still play, though. Currently, I'm playing Guitar Hero III while waiting for Kobe's <strike>fashionably late</strike> grand entrance. I finished the Easy Career mode in two days. Since I just started playing the damned game when my maternity leave started (I kept putting off playing it because I'm afraid I might get addicted and won't be able to concentrate at work), I think getting no lower than 3 stars is remarkable. I'm getting better, though, but I haven't moved on to Medium mode. It's too damn hard for my temper.

So right now, I'm trying to enjoy the game and the music on Easy mode, trying to get 5 stars for each number.

Yep, I'm still playing. Not as hard as before, but I'm still playing.

Does that still make me a gamer?

What kept me busy

Before my previous post, my last entry was dated almost three weeks ago. So what have I been doing since the start of my maternity leave last week, you might ask.

My friend Roselle in California is sending a package to her family here in the Philippines. She has been kind enough to include some baby stuff for me in their box. Eventually, she told me she'll send me a separate box since she'll also be sending some of her kids' outgrown stuff for Issen and Kobe.

That didn't answer your question?

Okay, I have been shopping online on United States online stores for things that I've always wanted to buy for my boys, but have been hesitating because of the ridiculous international shipping charges. I order them online, pay through Paypal (there goes my paid opps earnings ) or my debit card and have the items delivered to Roselle's address.

My transactions have been smooth, except for one item. And ironic because the merchant is one of the most popular on the web, Amazon.com.

I used my Eon Debit Card, and on March 17, 2008, my account was charged. However, on March 19, I received an email from Amazon.com that my order was canceled because the said item was out of stock. "Your credit card was not charged for the order," the email continued.

I sent an email to the Amazon.com Customer Support and told them that my account was indeed charged for the order. Here are some excerpts of their response.
"I've checked the order details for order #(insert order number here) and can confirm that you were not charged for this order. The seller has canceled the order...

Looking into your inquiry, most likely, your bank is holding the extra authorizations on your card for this order. Some banks have been known to hold these authorizations for 7-10 business days. You may want to contact your bank to confirm that these are authorizations and to request that they remove the authorizations.

When you place an order with Amazon.com or on Amazon Marketplace, we contact your credit card's issuing bank to confirm that your credit card has a valid number, and has not been reported as lost or stolen.

This is communicated via a full authorization for the amount of the purchase. However, we do not actually proceed with the charge. This is simply one of the security measures we use to protect our customers."

I waited 7-10 business days in case the amount automatically gets credited back to my account, but to no avail.

So I called the Unionbank Customer Service Hotline on March 26 to inquire about this and I was told to send this email along with images of my Eon Card, front and back. As soon as I sent the email, I received an automated reply telling me that they would respond to my "query within 24 hours". I sent the email 3 days ago and I haven't got a word from them.

The automated reply also said that "For urgent requests, you may also contact us through our customer service hotline..." However, I have been calling and trying to talk to any of their Customer Service representatives since yesterday, but haven't succeeded yet.

That's another point against EON again. The error in my transaction could be normal, and it's okay. What I'm ranting about is the quality of their customer service. I probably shouldn't have expected too much from them, but I can't help it. The transaction is worth almost $50 and I'm no rich individual to just shrug that amount off.

Oh well. Talk about crappy customer service. My leave started last week and I still haven't given birth. I feel like I wasted two weeks worth of waiting for someone who isn't ready to come out yet. At this point, I am feeling very, VERY impatient.

Sorry if I'm being cranky or unreasonable, but being pregnant full-term and stuck in the house waiting to give birth can make you the nastiest bit-, I mean, woman alive. Men, be thankful you will never experience the handful but really annoying discomforts of pregnancy. Ladies, pray that you'll be more patient than I am.

I have been busy doing some last minute preparations for Kobe's grand entrance. Also, I tried and spent as much quality time as I can with the first-born Issen just to make sure he won't feel as neglected when his little brother enters the picture. Not that we are planning to ignore and neglect Issen when Kobe comes, but you know how it is when a new baby arrives.

Thanks to the well-wishers, by the way. I should be able to catch up on my rounds soon.

I'll be posting some of Issen's early summer videos later. I should be able to post the links in a bit.

And please, PLEASE, pray that I give birth soon. It's not easy taking care of a 17-month-old toddler who weighs a little over 30 lbs. when you are already carrying some weight on your tummy.

It's not easy to move around when your 40 weeks pregnant. It's a scale replica of the battle of Helms Deep, from the movie based on the second book of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Two Towers, by J.R.R. Tolkien. The genius who made this says:
The whole thing was constructed out of cardboard, glue, icing and… well, candy. It clocked in at about 7 feet long by 3 feet deep by 2 feet tall. We used over 500 Gummy Bears as orcs and Uruk-Hai. The Elves, Dwarves and Men were represented by sour patch kids. Most of these were of course corpses.

Here are a couple of my favorites.

Gummy orcs and Uruk-Hai! What the hell is happening to me?

Baby Frost #2 will be known to the mortal world as Corvinus Keith, or Kobe for short. For the benefit of those who doesn't know yet, Mr. Frost has a couple of demands when it comes to naming his sons:

The full name must always include Keith as the second name. He didn't used to care if it is used as the first or second name, as long as it appears in the child's birth certificate. But apparently, that changed and now he wants his sons to share his initials.

The first name should start with a letter "C". And it should go and sound well with Keith.

Issen's full name is Constantine Keith. Actually, we were dead set on naming him Corvinus Keith, but God knows why we changed our minds a couple of days before he was born and wrote Constantine Keith on his birth certificate instead. Probably because John Constantine was way hotter in the movie than what I pictured him to be while reading Hellblazer. I could already see Mr. Frost rolling his eyes, with a thought bubble above his head saying, "What a BS!"

Now where did we get the name Corvinus?

I loved the movie Underworld. Need I say more? For more details, check out this Wikipedia entry.

And where did the nickname Kobe come from?

No, we're NOT fans of Kobe Bryant. In fact, I hate the guy, but Kobe is just the perfect nickname. If a kid who can barely talk will say the name "Corvinus", it would sound something like "Ko-be-nu". And it sounds Japanese, because it is actually a name of a Japanese City.

And yeah, for the last time, we got Issen from a video game, Onimusha 3 to be specific. That's what you get for having geeks as your parents.

Judging by the way we name our kids, you might think we're weird. Wait till you meet us in person.

Going down under

Our friend Don has already migrated to Australia to be with his wife. He's been there for about two years now. Our circle of friends are still in touch, of course, and Don never stopped convincing us to go there and visit him. He must really miss us that much. :)

Anyway, he's in Middle Park, Queensland, but he said he's willing to meet us anywhere in the country if that would be more convenient for us. He raved about the Sydney Hotels and Melbourne Hotels. Apparently, staying in hotels in those cities are not as expensive as we think, but much more comfortable than we could expect.

A couple of weeks ago, he and his wife spent the weekend at one of the more affordable Brisbane Hotels and went to the 2008 Brisbane Adult Sexpo. Of course, most of his stories were about the expo he attended, but he never forgot to mention how comfortable they were in their hotel.

He even offered to bring us to the beach where the family of the late Heath Ledger held the ceremonies before his interment. The beach is apparently just near the best and most affordable Perth Hotels. I'm not a big fan of Heath Ledger until recently when I saw the trailer of his latest movie, Batman The Dark Knight (his performance as The Joker was comparable to Jack Nicholson. He's that good), but I won't say no to a good swim on the beach. :)

Maybe when the kids are old enough to travel, we'll find ourselves on a vacation down under.

Online casino bonus codes

When I was trying to familiarize myself with poker in preparation for the newbie poker tournament my friends organized last month, I signed up to a number of online casino websties. From time to time since then, I have been receiving their newsletters, updates and latest promotions. Just the other day, I got a rather interesting promotion from one of them.

It turns out that these online casinos don't see each other as competitors all the time. There are times when they do cross-promotions and review of each others sites to increase traffic and membership sign ups. Like what FlopTurnRiver and Full Tilt Poker is doing.

I thought at first it was some kind of pinball game, that's why I clicked their link. Then I found out that Full Tilt is holding a tournament and they have what they call the Full Tilt Bonus where they will be adding $500 to the prize pool, no matter how many players enter the tournament. All you have to do to get started is register at the Full Tilt Poker website and enter the Full Tilt Poker referral code and voila! You are now eligible to enter the special tournament.

FlopTurnRiver is also doing a similiar room promotion with PokerStars. A PokerStars Bonus Code will enable you to to receive 100% of your intial deposit up to $50, which you can only get if you're a newly registered member making your first deposit.

Bb. Pilipinas 2008 Interview

I'm not a big fan of beauty pageants, but I don't have anything against those who join them. I admire women who use their beauty AND brains to bring honor to their country and family. I just wish that the ones the judges choose to represent our country in international pageants are deserving and would bring honor instead of shame.

Bb. Pilipinas 2008 concluded last night. (See winners here.) I wasn't able to watch but a friend forwarded this video clip to me.

I am speechless.

And the girl actually won one of the major titles, Bb. I need to catch up on my rounds if I don't want my only friends to forget that I still exist.

And that catching up starts now.

I hope I'll have enough time this weekend to really catch up.

See you in your online territories.

And yeah, I'll be posting more awards on my other blog because the ones who tagged me are my fellow moms.
